Grear site!!!
I almost never book in hostels anymore, because this is so much more cozy.
You get to know the locals, they often tell you what to see and how to see it in the local kind of way.
All in all, I recommend 9flats to everyone ;)

Worth trying
I've used this website while looking for a place to stay in Brighton. I've checked other similar websites and was very pleased by wider range of options. Everything about 9flats is user-friendly, the listing was accurate and the price was good. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 though as the contact centre wasn't quick with their respond, I managed to get my question answered by the host, but if it'd be someone who wouldn't speak English it might've been a problem as people usually need same day response to their holiday booking queries. Otherwise, I would def recommend 9flats and will use it again.

Super-Idee!... wenn die Gastgeber mit-machen?...
PLUS: Die 9flats-Geschäfts-Idee ist toll! Noch glaube ich daran. Die "Sofort-buchbar"-Option ist eine Hilfe gegen faule Gastgeber - aber auch kostspieliger. Also = +70%
MINUS: Die Gastgeber müssten wirklich zeitnah reagieren! Wenn Gast-Anfragen reihenweise und erst nach mehreren Tagen abgesagt werden, macht das eine Reise-Planung unmöglich, und zerstört letztlich den Vertrauens-Vorschuss in "9flats.com"! Also = -30%

Super innovatives Konzept - eine Win-Win Situation für Gastgeber und Zimmersuchende
Erst dachten wir, 9flats wäre bloß eine Bezahl-Version von Couchsurfing. Aber man bekommt doch etwas anderes. Mehr Unabhängigkeit vom Gastgeber und nicht den "Druck", mit dem Gastgeber viel Zeit verbringen zu "müssen". (Was natürlich auch sehr schön sein kann, aber es ist so eben kein MUSS)
Statt einfach einen Platz auf dem Sofa haben wir so ein tolles Zimmer in unserem Zielort gefunden. Es war nicht teurer als ein Hostel gewesen wäre. Dafür eine super Lage, viel mehr Freiheiten und eben keine 100 Rucksacktouristen um einen herum.
Das Portal ist logisch aufgebaut und hilft, die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber herzustellen. Was mir sehr positiv aufgefallen ist, ist, dass die Betreiber viel Wert auf Privatsphäre der Nutzer legen und keine Daten erheben / preisgeben, die nicht nötig sind.

Tolles Portal um günstig zu Übernachten
Meine Erfahrungen mit www.9flats.de ist durchweg positiv -alles korrekt und problemlos auch kurzfristig immer wieder gut .
Mann findet alles was für einen tollen Aufenthalt in den großen Metropolen wichtig ist .

Über 9flats habe ich bis her immer wunderschöne Wohnungen gebucht, die alles gehalten haben was sie online versprochen haben!
Treffende und hilfreiche Beschreibungen der Wohnungen und des Umfeldes. Abwicklung der Buchung auch immer einwandfrei und auch bei kurzfristigen Stornierungen sehr Benutzerfreundlich.

Unkomplizierte Zimmermietung bei privat
Bei 9flats ist es möglich, unkompliziert und sicher Zimmer zu mieten. Die Abwicklung läuft über das Internetportal von 9flats. Dieses ist sehr einfach zu bedienen. Die Absprachen zu den Mietdetails erfolgt zwischen Mieter und Vermieter. Das Finanzielle regelt 9flats. Sehr bequem und auch bei Buchungserweiterungen, -änderungen hilft 9flats schnell und unkompliziert.

Viel günstiger als Hotel und andere Stadtteile kennen ernen
Ich habe über 9flats ein Apartment in Paris gebucht und es verlief alles klasse. Wir waren zu viert in einem etwas kleineren Wohnung im wunderschönen Montmartre. In der Gegend kostet normalerweise ein Hotelzimmer pro Person ab 100 Euro die Nacht. Das Apartment konnten wir zu viert zu demselben Preis bekommen und jeder hat dementsprechend nur 25 gezahlt.
Die Schlüsselübergabe hat gut geklappt und wir würden sofort wieder hinfliegen.
Echt coole Idee so zu reisen!

Endlich mal richtig verreisen und kein Hotel-Abklatsch!
Ich bin begeistert von dem Geschäftsmodell. Habe mich sowieso gefragt, wann das endlich zum Kult wird. Ich habe gerade meine zweite Reise über 9flats hinter mir und beide Male hat fast alles gut geklappt. Bei der ersten Buchung nach Sevilla bekam ich zwei Wochen vor meiner Reise eine Absage vom Gastgeber, wo ich natürlich erstmal total geknickt war. Ich bekam aber ziemlich schnell vom Kundenservice bei 9flats Unterstützung und eine neue Unterkunft für einen kleineren Preis in derselben Gegend. Da hatte ich Glück, und dann verlief auch alles nach Plan.
Nun komme ich gerade aus London zurück und hab mich riesig gefreut, ein Privatzimmer in Kew Gardens mit meiner Freundin zu bekommen, für nur 30 Euro die Nacht, das bekomme ich nicht mal in einem Hostel!
Dort hatten wir eine nette Gastgeberin, die wir gerne wieder besuchen würden.
Es ist wirklich einfach, die Buchung und die Abwicklung. Und man kann als Gastgeber auch schnell Geld verdienen. Sobald ich ungenutzten Wohnraum habe, werde ich mich als Gastgeber anmelden!

9flats hat mir neue Türen geöffnet
Meine Schwester hat mir vor einiger Zeit von 9flats erzählt. Eine neue Art zu Reisen, ich würde Geld sparen und an Orte gelangen, an die ich als "normaler" Tourist nicht gelangen würde.. Cooles Geschäftsmodell, meinte sie.
Mir kam es ein wenig komisch vor, im Internet wildfremde Menschen am anderen Ende der Welt anschreiben zu können, um in deren privaten Wohnung hausen zu können. Habe mich gefragt, ob die ganze Sache auch sicher ist.
Ich bin diesen Frühling für zehn Tage mit einer Freundin nach Istanbul geflogen und wir konnten bei einem netten Ehepaar in Cihangir hausen, eine sehr schöne und zentrale Gegend. Die Schlüsselübergabe und der Kontakt haben reibungslos geklappt, unsere Gastgeber haben uns viele Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt gegeben.
Ich bin mir sicher, dass man auch weniger Glück mit den Unterkünften haben kann und nicht das bekommt ,was man erwartet. Aber 9flats ist meiner Meinung nach eine tolle Plattform, bei der man sicher eine Buchung abschließen kann. Die Auswahl ist besonders in den Großstädten Europas sehr groß und die Preise sind sehr unterschiedlich, je nach Unterkunft und Lage. Ich war aber erstaunt, dass viele Wohnungen günstiger waren als Hotelzimmer.
Also alles in allem, sehr empfehlenswert!

I travelled to Italy with 9flats. Our hosts were so nice, even though they didn't speak english. I love the idea of 9flats. The possibility to stay with locals is awesome. The website is easy to use and the booking process is really easy.
They need a mobile app. That would be great.

A really nice site but didn't generate enough interest for us.
9flats is a really nice site to use and you can see that lots of thought and attention has gone into every aspect of the usability. However, having an apartment in one of the lesser known ski resorts in France, we didn't seem to be getting much interest or bookings from them.
We're now listed on www.chalet-hire.com which isn't cheap at £199 (about €230) but well worth the initial outlay as it is our main source of bookings now.

Clunky, but finally get a response on a cancelled booking
My first experience of 9flats is mediocre so far. I made a booking in London, but after I paid, the host then cancelled one of the days. So I had paid for a night I couldn't have.
9flats support suggested the host refund me in cash when I arrived in the UK in four months time. I said no, please with draw the credit charge from my card and issue the right charge, so I can book a hotel. They said yes. They were going to contact me when that was done and I could rebook for the right dates.
They didn't. Two weeks later 9flats had not withdrawn the credit card charge. It took another 3 emails to them and the host to get this happening. And another couple of emails to the host to rebook for the right dates. The final response from 9flats was the most professional but the others were fairly off-hand.
So the booking's through, but it was a pretty annoying experience. And it cost me $AUD35.00 because the exchange rate changed in the intervening weeks!

ACHTUNG hohe Stornogebühr, schlecht übersetzte Beschreibungen
Vorsicht mit dieser Seite! In den AGB steht, dass auf alle Fälle 15% Stornokosten fällig werden, egal wann man storniert.
Ich habe zwei Zimmer in London für meine Familie auf Basis der guten deutschen Beschreibung gebucht. Nach dem ersten Kontakt mit dem Vermieter fanden wir heraus, dass es sich um ein homosexuelles Pärchen handelt. Dieser meiner Meinung nach wichtige Sachverhalt stand leider nur in der englischen Beschreibung, der entscheidende Absatz fehlte in der deutschen Beschreibung. Wir haben dann die Zimmer eine Stunde später storniert, müssen aber den vollen Stronobetrag (> 100€) zahlen.
Von Seiten des 9flats Customer Support gab es keinerlei Entgegenkommen.
Wer den Orginaltext der Beschreibung aufgrund von Sprachkenntnissen nicht lesen kann, sollte bei dieser Seite ganz vorsichtig sein.

9 Flats Falls Flat
I'm a USA host and 9 flats did not pay me. I had to go through hoops to get them to pay me. After I complained they cancelled my web page and left a client who was to stay with us without a place to stay. THis resulted in lost revenue as the dates for the stay of the client stopped other clients from making the reservation.
Their response was that if they don't pay me, that's my problem, they don't notify you if they are unable or unwilling to pay. They did not notify me either that the site was cancelled. In both cases I had to research and had to offer the guest a free 8 day stay at our house out of concern for their plans.
When asked why they didn't pay me they kept complaining about my bank not knowing what it was talking about.
This is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. It's clear they are scrambling to make sense out of what they are trying to do.
Sounds like two or three guys working out of their apartment who drink occassionally.

I was surprised to find our BnB listed on 9flats
We run a B&B in the USA - and I just received an email from 9flats that they have published our reservation calendar online and their custmers can book rooms with us. Since the company did not contact us before listing our property we were negatively impressed with their business eithics. We have requested that they remove the unauthorized listing and they have complied.

Very good for long trips
I loved this website, it saved me a lot of money on accommodation. Plus the apartments they have are beautiful, but of course the more beautiful the more you pay, but considering the rates of good hotels this days, 9flats is an awesome choice. Also if found great how fast and without a hitch my inquiries went. I will definitely keep using 9flats in the future!

Excellent customer service!
9flats is a great alternative to hotels, offering very fair prices. I have only booked with them once and although the host caused some last minute complications, thanks to the truly excellent customer service I am not put off from using 9flats again. The woman I was speaking to on the phone was helpful and professional. She took care of the situation (the host had informed me a couple of days before departure that the place I booked was already taken) and within just a couple of hours, had found me an alternative place to stay in. It was in just as good a location in Paris, cost more or less the same and was just as nicely decorated. She was in direct contact with both hosts for me and called me back shortly with the good news of having found a solution. I am very happy with the service offered at 9flats and, despite the initial shock, would recommend this service on to others (and already have). Keep up the good work!

Smart travelling
Experiencing what 9flats.com has offered me cannot be compared to any hotel experience I have ever had. The fact that I now have new contacts I can rely on facilitates planning my future holidays and business trips.
Small details have made an enormous difference to the outcome of my travelling experience. I am privileged to have received such welcoming and flattering hospitality from some hosts and what I really like is that some have been extremely generous to let me borrow their means of transportation when no public transportation was available, others offered to drive me around and others even came to my rescue when I was hopelessly lost.
I love to boast about getting great deals, who doesn’t? And now that not only can I be certain that I have amazing private places to rent at my reach, I can also rest assure that I will never have to worry about those sterile, tasteless continental breakfast again…….I will make my own tasty, healthy breakfast from now on and if we meet while sharing a flat or other, you are more than welcome to join!

Perfect for solo traveler
I tried 9flats during my solo trip to Europe. The website is easy to use and provide complete information on every details that I need: room photos and description, host review and location map. I get response for my booking within 24 hour and they're also very nice and welcoming. I especially got really well with my host in Rome where he brought me not only to tourist spots but also local bars that's hard to find if you're not local. All in all the experience is great, especially for solo traveler because not only you get great accommodation, but also make a lifelong friend along the way. I will definitely use 9flats again during my next solo trip to US.

More for less.
9flats.com makes travelling comfortable & affordable. Last year a friend introduced me with this Berlin made platform and from that day on i'm hooked. Fair enough; it took me some time before i actually made my first booking, my skepticism held me back; there must be some kind of fly in the ointment.. what if the place is dirty, or what if no one opens the door or show up to hand over the keys... what's in it for the company; who is ripping who off?! but after my first contact with the 9flats support team while booking a place in Amsterdam, i realised that these guys are for real, and they're actually quite nice :) The informal but trustworthy tone of voice, the way the site works, the easy payment, and then of course the meet & greet with the Amsterdam host, who was passionately telling me about his place and gave me the best insider tips anyone could wish for (Lonely Planet eat your heart out!) The place itself was cosy & clean. I felt at home immediately in a comfortable kind of way. Long story short: 9flats.com is a win/win concept. Hosts earn money by renting out their flat to people who don't want to/cannot spend that much on accommodations. So basically 9flats.com helps both guest as hosts to 'earn' money with traveling. Why didn't I came up with that brilliant idea!

Almost perfect
I am from Singapore and visited Berlin late last year for work. I booked a place for €40 from 9flats. The place was clean, and the host was friendly. The entire transaction was faultless. Only have minor gripes about the page design, which just seems marginally incongruous.

Davvero un'ottima organizzazione
9flats è uno dei migliori siti turistici che presentano una valida alternativa agli hotel. Sul portale ci sono tantissimi appartamenti gestiti direttamente dai proprietari e in tal modo si crea un rapporto diretto e personale tra l'ospite e il gestore. L'estate scorsa ho alloggiato a Lisbona in uno degli appartamenti di 9flats e devo dire che la descrizione della casa era perfettamente aderente alla realtà. Inoltre il gestore è stato molto gentile e mi ha consigliato i migliori locali e i luoghi più interessanti da vedere in zona. Per le mie prossime vacanze sceglierò di prenotare ancora con 9flats e lo consiglio vivamente!

A week in Berlin...
I recently had to go to Berlin on business and while I don't mind the hotels there, but I was getting pretty tired of the same drab and impersonal service. My friend had tried 9flats and recommended it to me in a big way. I gave it a go and now I don't think I will ever look back...
The platform is easy to use. You just browse by location and price, then you find a place you want and send a request. The host got back to me within 30 mins and my place was booked. When I got there, it was such a nice difference to be met by a real person. My host Carol gave me the keys and then we went for a walk round the block where she showed me where I could find the supermarket and everything else I might need. A really personal and good value service and a must try for someone who travels a lot.

The best alternative to hotels
A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a flat in Berlin... and it's really complicated to find something fast here. So I needed a place to sleep for at least a week.
One spanish amigo of mine, told me to check this cool website called 9flats, that he already used for a couple of times. So I booked a place in the middle of the city for 16!!! Euros. Already in 1 hour my host confirmed the booking. The owner of the flat was a really cool guy. In the evening we went for a beer and he showed me some "insider" locations of Friedrichhain.
Actually it was also him who helped me to find a place, where I'm living now... 9flats is a new and really social way of travelling!

There's life after hotels
I liked this website. I discovered not so long ago to travel to the Canary Islands and by now the result has been really positive.
One of the best things for me... the dedicated customer service. They´re quite friendly and wanting to help. So rare to see these days!
