2nd time and another good job

Having used aspect before on a plumbing job, I needed to get someone out to change a roof tile for me which has been causing a leak. In their marketing Aspect say that no job is too small but to be honest I hadn't expected them to be OK to fix such a small problem. Two roofers arrived in short course and were changed the tile and cleaned off a lot of the moss that had started growing in my guttering. Quick and efficient, again.

Fixed my lights - very happy

Aspect sent out an electrician to deal with some of our down lighting, which has been playing up for a while. I had taken some of the spotlights apart myself, but I couldn’t fix it myself. David diagnosed that the transformer was at fault, and replaced it on the spot. Couldn’t ask him for more really.

Pleased with decoration work

We are in the middle of spring cleaning and have just had the kids’ bedroom re-decorated by aspect. We were quite specific in how we wanted it doing, and the chap who came round to give us a quote was able to work around our needs fantastically- we will certainly be looking to them for further work around the house! Worth noting that ours was only a small job (day and a half) which our building company who did the house initially said was not worth their while but these guys never gave us the impression we were anything but a priority, and as a result will get some bigger jobs from us as well!

Very good service

I had a carpenter come out and fit some hardwood flooring recently- he was professional, courteous and did a very good job. He was very knowledgeable and gave us tips on how best to treat and clean the floor- highly recommended.

Avoid - helpful at first - customer service is appalling

Rang to get a window lock replaced and someone came round that day.

Nice chap said he couldn't fix it and he would give a call back to let me know if they could source a replacement and that someone would call before taking payment from me.

Next thing a week has passed, payment has been taken from my card and I've never heard back from them on a solution to fix the window. Rang the company and was rudely told by some flippant women on the phone that I had agreed to pay them on asking them to come out, had known the full price and generally couldn't give a hoot.

So end of the day down £100 and still the window doesn't lock......
Summary - avoid and use a smaller company that actually cares if the job is done, not about billing you for nothing.

We’re sorry to hear that our engineer was unable to fix the lock mechanism and handle on his first visit. We have been advised that in this instance it was an unusual type with no markings and as such had to be sourced. We have since provided you with an estimate for a full repair, and the engineer fitted a temporary replacement handle in the meantime.

As advised on booking and as outlined in our T&C's and rate card we do have a minimum 1 hour charge for all jobs to at least cover part of our cost in getting the engineer to site. We would note that we do not charge a fixed call out fee or any additional petrol or parking charges, hence the one hour minimum with half hourly charging thereafter.

We understand that you have been in correspondence with our office on this matter, however if you still feel unsatisfied or have any further problems don’t hesitate to get in touch at customercare@aspect.co.uk.

Helpful & friendly for capture of initlal job but poor follow up / customer service after issues

At the same time as posting the review I was contacted by the customer services dept. Apparently some key people had been out sick over the last few days hence the lack of response. Anyway, since then the service has been excellent - prompt, helpful and practical. Based on this I would recommend using this company .


I contacted the company to ask them to repair or replace 2 locks on the front door of a property I let out (it was empty at the time).
I am in the US so wasn't able to be present when the work was done so Paul at the office was very helpful and captured explicit instructions for the engineer. These were:
- go to the letting agent to get the keys
- look at both locks and see if possible to fix
- call me if the only option was to replace so I could give the go ahead for the work
This was captured very clearly in the job notes so I had a high level of confidence it would done. I also agreed to pay up front as I was in the US (as that was their policy).
Unfortunately the engineer didn't seem to read the notes:
- i got a call from the company asking why no one was at the property to let him in (demonstrating he hadn't read the notes about collecting the keys from the letting agent)
- i received no phone call about how to proceed
- i was sent a bill for a full 2 hour call out with about 6 words of description about what was done and with no photos. It mentioned one lock being fixed but didn't say which one
- the timings quoted in the receipt did not sync with when I had received the call asking why no one was in (i don't really care about overpaying for 30 mins if the work was done properly)

I subsequently found out that the letting agent had not given the engineer the key for one of the locks. I appreciate that this would make it hard to "fix" that lock but by following the very clear instructions he should have called to ask what to do next (I would've said just replace).

All of the above is a bit frustrating but i appreciate that mistakes happen. The part that has frustrated me is that:
- it took me a week to get the details of what was actually done
- the response from customer services was "the top lock works fine so your tenants will have no issues"
- I asked that they come back to complete the work that was originally asked for and was told my only option was to pay full price again (they did say they would throw in a 10% discount but as the invoice for the first job offered me a 10% discount on the next work then in reality i was being offered nothing)
- when I asked to raise a formal complaint about the fact the initial job was not done properly i was told that the company had an official formal turnaround time.of 48 hours for such complaints and someone would definitely call me back. 3 days later no one has called

I read quite a few reviews of this company before i decided to use them and based on all the other positive reviews i can only assume my experience is a blip but i am very frustrated with the chasing I have had to do and the approach which seems to be to hope I will give up and stop chasing them

Punctual, friendly and skilled

Costa came to fix some problems with our patio doors in the office. He arrived early and was very efficient. He informed me of what he was doing along the way, and asked before any decisions had to be made. Would definitely recommend.

Competent but slow.

The call centre staff and 'backroom' staff were very efficient.

I can't review the engineer as I wasn't onsite for the work.

However, I was disappointed that it took a week for the electrical survey report to be published, and a further three days for the quote for remedial works to be published.

Unfortunately, as mentioned in our email confirmation, the certificates can take anything from 7-10 working days to complete. We do appreciate that customers need this information as quickly as possible, however it needs to go through a few internal checks and processes so as to conform with the relevant trade association requirements. Only once this is complete are we able to provide an estimate on the full scope of required remedial works.

Quality boiler contract

Sorted out my garden

My garden was in need of a little TLC after the winter and I received an email from aspect.co.uk last week with an offer of £25 off. Their chap came the following day, he was professional and pleasant and it now looks much, much better. He even suggested that he clean my BBQ for me to use up the last 45 minutes once the main job was done - very impressed I was. He is now coming back later this week to do my neighbours garden - that's how these things should work.

All very easy

The old radiator in my bedroom was actually far too large for the size of the room. I wanted to switch to one of the new-style slim radiators and didn't want the hassle of waiting in etc. Aspect gave me good advice, got the parts and did the job on a Saturday and cost wasn't too bad. Suited me and would use again.

So far so good

..............got our boiler back up and running. Given past experiences (with other companies) I just hope it stays that way! Did a good job - happy customer for sure

Having recently moved into a new property in Fulham, one of the first things we had to get done was the bathroom- the old windows were in disrepair, and mould was growing on the inside of the frames. I arranged for somebody to come and quote for new windows. The guy who did arrive was very knowledgeable, and explained that we would need more ventilation put into the bathroom to prevent problems with damp in the future. We now have bespoke windows created to our specification, and couldn’t be happier!

Couldn't fault them and would recommend to anyone

We have wanted/needed to get our property re-wired for some time now. Having got several quotes for the job from different companies, we decided to go with Aspect. They weren't the cheapest (or the most expensive) but they were by far the most impressive in terms of quick turnaround, information provided and generally professional service. We had a project manager who was the contact throughout and he came to check it over when the chaps were finished. Nice people (all of them) and top notch from start to finish. Thank you.

Terry Moore can fix my waterworks anytime!!!

- Terry makes you feel as though he is genuinely trying to help you.
He phoned and asked for a photo of the bath tap to be sent him via e-mail. This was so that he only made one visit as he knew which tap to order.
This saved us money and inconvenience. It also showed that he understood technology at its best.
- He left the bathroom cleaner than he found it.
- He was very pleasant and unobtrusive.
- I am glad that Aspect have him on board.

We have used aspect.co.uk a lot over the years, and I wanted to take the chance to say how good they have been.
