I decided to write this review after placing an order for 10 replacement NICAD batteries for my obsolete Ryobi cordless drill (very good - just can't buy the battery packs) and then seeing the poor reviews of Batteriesplus - I know, I did it in the wrong order....! Needless to say I was a little perturbed to see the poor reviews but was pleasantly surprised when all the batteries arrived within 6 days of placing the order. Very good considering I live in France. So, to be fair, taking into account the very good delivery, excellent price and easy transaction I think they deserve 5 stars. I am one of the first to criticise poor service or quality but also think good performance should be recognised (especially when many people only write reviews when they are dissatisfied which tend to bias overall ratings).
Ordered solar rechargeable batteries on 19th May. Emailed 25th May to chase order and no response. Another chase email sent 13th June and this time I queried if they were actually a "legitimate" company or scamming people over the internet. Again, no reply. Today 27th June I receive an email from Paypoint.net saying the money has been taken from my bank account so I called batteriesplus, fully expecting a dead phone line, but lo and behold, someone answered the phone! He wasn't too impressed when I remarked that I was sure they were a scam as no one had replied to my emails and almost 6 weeks later I had not received the product I ordered. Apparently they were waiting for stock. If so then your website should reflect this status when someone places their order so they can decide if to proceed or not. Or at the very least and update email should be sent out to customers advising them of delays once their order has been placed. When questioned as to why no one had responded to my emails, I was informed that it wasn't them at fault, but Hotmail - they constantly have emails sent to Hotmail addresses intercepted as phishing scams! Interesting excuse - always blame someone else for your shortcomings! And goodness knows why they couldn't pick up the phone to update me since you have to provide a contact number when ordering. They have been in business for 13 years the man told me. Quite how they have kept going this long is beyond me. Exceptionally poor customer service - I will certainly never order a thing from them again.

I ordered some rechargeable cells. I received a confirmation email from "PayPoint.net" but no further communication. After a fortnight, I tried their phone numbers several times - one is always engaged; the other is never answered. I emailed, asking if there had been some problem with my order. 19 days later there is still no word from them. No money has been taken from my credit card yet - in the meantime it has expired, so they probably will not be able to if they decide to wake up now. In a time of recession, one hopes that companies with good customer service will struggle through - the others will fall by the wayside. Batteriesplus come into the latter category. What a shame.
