We booked online to a set date for the 48hr bus tour, a fantastic way to get around Dubai. A great source of information about the city & its history, don't forget to do the free boat tour of the creek. Ideal for getting on & off for shopping during the tour. You just go back to your drop off point to carry on the tour after stopping to shop & sightsee. We didn't attempt to do the two daytime routes on the same day & got to do everything we had planned whilst on the 48hr tour & more. I would say this is a must if you haven't visited the city before. Well done BIG BUS TOURS DUBAI!
I always try to use these "open top" bus tours whenever I am staying in a new town or city, and so before our trip to Dubai (my second, and my wife's first) I happily booked on line for the BigBus Tour.
I was not disappointed; it was an excellent introduction to the city, and gave us plenty of ideas for follow-up visits.
We even booked for the night tour when we were there - some repetition but still excellent value, especially with the "loyalty" offer.
I did the two day hop on hop off bus tour as this was my first visit to Dubai. It was a great and easy way to see the place. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting for the first time.
Dubia is expensive. That is a fact! However, the Big Bus tour is a glorified bus trip around the sights of Dubai for which they charge you a small fortune. The concept is great, the commentary ok (with some annoying repetition and upselling along the way) but the price is over the top for what you actually get. I won't be doing a Big Bus tour again if there are other (cheaper) tour options available. For instance the $5 local tour bus guide in Melbourne where the driver gives the tour commentary was far better value for money and truly awesome compared to the Big Bus tour they also run around the city!
I like to use such buses in many countries, so, I like this tourist format and schedule.
It's so pity I couldn't spend whole day for the Dubai on BigBusTours but I've got wonderful two hours excursion thru old Dubai.
There is only advice I could get: You should plan to spend at least whole day with BigBusTours to explore all options and meet the city.
You are suposed to wait only for 20minutes for every bus, but that's a big lie!! We had to wait for 1hour for every bus that we took under the sun and 35degrees. If you only buy the 1 day ticket you will loose the whole day waiting for the bus. We ended by taking the metro, so better, it stops in best places in dubai, and has air conditioner, and no waiting time of 1hour!!
Enjoyed the day bus but doing the day and night one in one day wasn't a great idea. The plastic seats weren't too good on the back by the end. Speaker on the night bus hard to hear because the bus is partially open and the wind/traffic noise made it difficult. However it was fantastic to see all the amazing buildings at night
It was a great way to see Dubai and good value for money. I was given a book with discount coupons by the agent, however all the coupons had expired.
Some service personnel issues.
Overall a great day.
Same as my one line opinion
Big Bus Tours is by far the quickest and easiest way to explore Dubai with minimal fuss. With a choice of 2 daytime routes and a bundle of free attractions thrown in, there are lots of options to keep your visit to Dubai fresh and exciting.
Top tip : wear sunblock and stay in the shade on the bus during the heat of the day - even in November it was very toasty sitting on the top deck!
We booked a day trip but, it may be expeditious to get a 48 hour ticket to allow you spend more time hopping off and hopping back on.
The bus is by far the best way to see everything in Dubai,
We had a great day on a BigBus tour over Dubai, and I recommend it to other tourists and visitors. Dubai is wide spread and it wouldn't be possible to see all, what we've seen during one day, without BigBus service. We've travelled with kids (8 and 6 years old) and they enjoyed it too.
Still there are some small improvements that could be done:
1) it would be great if the service operates longer - we had to hurry to catch the last bus leaving city center at around 5:00 pm - especially that THIS city never sleeps!
2) While changing from the bus to other attractions (i.e. boat cruse) it would be useful to get over headphones info about timing of those attractions (boat departures) - that would help in planning (reduce waiting time).
Anyway - it was great and we've learned a lot from the trip.
We advice to plan you BigBus tour at the beginning of your visit - it makes it easy to identify your favorite places, that are worth coming back during your stay in the city :) Enjoy!
usufruirò del BIG BUS anche in altre città come ho già sempre fatto
ringrazio e cordialmente saluto
I used this tour when I stayed in Abu Dhabi. There are a few tour options, one even take you to Dubai.
Although this tour was very informatve about the life and culture of the Emirate city the head sets on the back of the seats which are used to listen to the tour guide are CRAP!!
The audio is crackly and some are just plain unusable.
Lucky for me the bus was not full so I could move around and eventually find an audio set that worked.
This was a very good way of seeing Dubai. It was my fourth visit and I, and my companion, enjoyed the option to spend more time at places of interest to me rather than specific times for each attraction allowed by other city tours.
We opted for the two day ticket so did both routes. It was a bit of a drag doing the blue route twice but this was the only way to get back to our start point without taking a taxi from the WAFI. How anyone could fit in the free trip to Sharjah and/or the walking tour defeats me but I suppose some people manage it.
I found it very tiring doing the two days together and would have preferred to choose when I did the second day - say within a five day period.
I would not recommend the Night Tour. The lights on the better known buildings were OK but the only aspect of this tour worth seeing, in my view, was the WAFI light show which could easily have been done by taxi.
Thank you for the opportunity to air my thoughts
A pleasant pastime with the opportunity to see the most famous places of Dubai. Booked two-day tour and did not regret, for one day was clearly not enough to hang around without haste. Free Creek walk just after the sunset was a good think to end the day. Had no time to use free Sharjah ticket. Next time, inshallah
An excellent introduction to Dubai. Helpful and friendly staff on clean reliable and comfortable buses. Combine that with inclusive trips on dhows and entrance to a cultural gem of a museum which nobody would otherwise think of visiting is excellent value.
All in all a good introduction that lets you decide where you then want to explore in more detail.
COMPRÉ EL COMBO DAY& NIGHT .
VIAJAMOS EN EL BIG BUS DESDE LAS 9.30 A.M. Y EL STAFF ERA BASTANTE MAL EDUCADO.
PREGUNTÉ POR EL TOUR OPCIONAL QUE OFRECÍAN GRATIS PARA VISITAR EL GOLD SOUK Y ME DIJERON QUE SERÍA DESPUÉS ...
A LAS 10.30 A.M. DEBERÍA EMPEZAR EL TOUR Y DIJERON QUE NO HABRÍA TOUR QUE SI QUERÍA FUERA A VISITAR EL MUSEO Y ESPERAR POR EL SIGUIENTE BIG BUS.
PERO ÉSO NO FUÉ TODO:
EN LA NOCHE CUANDO ESPERAMOS EL SIGUIENTE BIG BUS EN EL DUBAI MALL HUBO EXCESO DE VENTA DE BOLETOS Y NO HUBO LUGAR DISPONIBLE PARA NOSOTROS Y NO PUDIMOS SUBIR AL BIG BUS PARA CONTINUAR CON EL NIGHT TOUR, ÉSO FUE UN VERDADERO FRAUDE PORQUE EL STAFFF NOS DIJO QUE VENDRÍA OTRO BIG BUS Y DESPUÉS DIJERON QUE YA NO HABRÍA OTRO BUS QUE ERA EL ÚNICO Y QUE LO SENTÍAN PORQUE NO ENCONTRAMOS LUGAR DISPONIBLE Y ÉRAMOS COMO 10 PERSONAS QUE NO PUDIMOS CONTINUAR CON EL NIGHT TOUR PORQUE YA NO HABÍA LUGAR DISPONIBLE.
A ÉSO SE LE LLAMA "ROBAR" Y NUNCA NOS IMAGINAMOS QUE HICIERA ÉSO EN EL BIG BUS TOUR DE DUBAI, CREÍMOS QUE ERAN PERSONAS CON MÁS RESPONSABILIDAD.....
NUNCA LO RECOMENDAREOS A OTRAS PERSONAS.
Fahrzeiten überhaupt nicht eingehalten. An den Stops keine Abstimmung mit den nachfolgenden Angeboten. Lange Wartezeiten. Bei kleinem Andrang werden Fahrten gestrichen. Gegenüber anderen Städten eine Katastrofe.
Preis / Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht. 55 Sfr. für dieses Angebot ist nicht gerechtfertigt.
Am 7.11.13 ab 09.15 Uhr - 17.00 Uhr auf der Route Rot ca. 2 1/2 Stunden Wartezeit.
Dass kann nicht sein. Nicht zu empfehlen.

The Big Bus is a great way to see Dubai. The city is pretty spread out, so if you don't use the Big Bus you would need to take taxis to the sights as there is limited public transportation. While taxis are not expensive it is still better to have a commentator and a set route that takes you past all the sites. We were pleased with the frequency of the buses (about every 20 minutes), they were very clean, and attendants helpful. I would definitely recommend The Big Bus in Dubai.
I booked online the 48 hour tour to take it on Friday and Saturday. The people of the tour suggested correctly to take the blue line on Friday and the red one on Saturday as most of the things in the red line will be closed. It was excellent because the stops are really well thought so you gent sight of the best points of the city with the tour.
The only thing to criticize is the timings of some of their walking tours and other stuff that have just one or two starting hours in the day. Maybe it's not possible to have more but it would be great that someone can take all the walks and other tours on the same line in one day. All the rest was excellent!!!
Highly recommended as the ideal initial orienntation in Dubai which is very spread out.
Do not forget the night tour because the size of the high-rise in Dubai is best realised at night when the "Canyon" of skyscrappers (all different shapes and sizes) are lit up. Fantastic.
- I think that Stop 5 where is a boat ride and the walk. There should be an attendant at the stop to show where how the walk is.
- a lot of sound systems for headsets were out of order. In one bus, 50% of the headsets were not working.
I like the bus with front section of the top deck has air-condition.
Hello to one and all -- the Big Bus tours were very cool and comfortable ride. The timings maintained are creditable. Staff are fantastic and I really had a superb overall view of Dubai and will be doing the night tours next time i vist Dubai -- Great tours
We booked online to get a discount for one day city tour bus of dubai, where we spent 5 nights so we wanted to get a quick overview from day one of the possibility offered by the city.
We were 2 adults and 3 kids, so for the whole family it costs us 137usd, think about it before !
we had to take a taxi from our hotel to the first departure in Deira city not to miss the bus, because in effect sometimes there are no signs of the bus station for pick up.
We have done the full tour on and off, and the cruise also, but didn't manage to catch the boat taxi, though it is quite exhausting with the kids when you have to wait for the bus or the cruise under the sun...
The lady who took our ticket really insisted to give a discount on a two days bus tour, but we refused. if you think about it it is worth it, because in effect the next day we went to Atlantis with taxi and metro and it was not cheap at all ! so more or less the same price with the bus, the thing is we wanted to spend the full day in atlantis so what's the point of paying for the city tour bus ?
So for us no regret at all we had what we wanted, a good start to discover the city !
The tour was relatively nice, though we heard some of the same comments several times during the tour. It was nice to have the water available in the buses.
It would have been nice to have a family ticket with better value though. It is getting a bit expensive for a full family.
All is good except for the tickets. Since we booked online and confirmed our reaervations we were still told to print out vouchers.
Please note that the ticket if for Abu Dhabi City Tour.
The Big Bus City Tour is a great way to see a City! Very well structured - the Tour of Old Dubai (Red route) and new Dubai (Beach Tour - also called the Blue route) - both routes showcase the history of Dubai as well as the rapid modernization and growth that Dubai has witnessed over the past two decades. The Buses are superbly maintained, clean and efficiently run (except for traffic build-up at certain times, on most occasions, the timings were perfect). The running commentary is good; though, I wish we could have more information and insights, instead of overdose of instrumental music. The Big Bus ground staff, at various locations, and, the Bus drivers can most certainly behave more Customer-friendly, polite and courteous to the tourists. That is the only negative observation in an otherwise wonderful experience!!
