Big Bus Tours is a great way to see the city, and the added option of hop on - hop off is great. We purchased a combined ticket, so saw Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with a free shuttle between the cities. I have little negative to say about our experience except that a couple of times the recorded messages as one goes around the city did not work. They should be checked regularly and repaired soon as a non-functioning site is noted. Well done, Big Bus.
My sister, brother-in-law, and I booked a one day Dubai Big Bus Tour. We got on at the Dubai Mall, which is also where the Burj Khalifa is located. We had tickets to go up in the Burj Khalifa at 4:30, so we started our Big Bus Tour the earliest we could, 9:30am, and we figured we'd go around the whole thing and be back at the Dubai Mall in time to go up in the Burj Khalifa. For each stop the bus made and people got off, we sat for almost 15 minutes to start back up again, and then there was also a 25 minute delay in switching buses when we had to hop on the other route. By the time we finished the "Red Route," and should have been getting back on the "Blue Route" to take us the remainder of the places and back to the Dubai Mall, it was already 2:30 in the afternoon. We ended up just getting off the bus and catching a cab back to the Dubai Mall, because we would have never made it by 4:30 if we continued on the Blue Route. We were disappointed that we only got to see half of the attractions (the ones on the Red Route), and upset because the tour just seemed so disorganized. If you are to book the BigBus Tour in Dubai, I suggest not have ANY plans the rest of the day, or maybe get the 2-day option if you want to see everything.
i was traveling with my mother, the attendant at the bus stop (Dubai Mall) ate the morning was not so friendly ,as i told her ,The hotel I stayed printer is not working, she got mad at me, as I said to her is not my problem, problem is the hotel when I finally got the ticket, she told me again that I should have printed !! BigBusTours Dubai you have to take a training best for those who will meet customer and not a crazy!
Over subscribed tour, and had to wait in line for an hour for a bus, which lessened our tour time and we drove around the city like in 'The Fast & Furious". No time for stops, photo ops. Good tour guide on the bus.
Great way to discover the delights of Dubai. As a female on my own, it was an excellent way of gaining familiarity with what Dubai has to offer. Dhow ride was great and walking tour was informative although probably better to see this area after 5pm when there are demonstrations in the mock village.
While 24 hours is never enough to see a city, especially Dubai, the Big Bus 24 hour ticket allowed us to quickly and easily get our bearings. We managed to see the main tourist sites as well as take a boat trip on the Creek. It would be nice if the service started a little earlier and ran a little longer... say from 8 to 6 rather than 9 to 5, also these timings are only for the start point, if you get on or off elsewhere you need to check the planner.
No proper guidance. For first timers it is difficult and precious time for enjoyment is lost due to this reason. For an example, there are two lines,Blue and Red. Without guidance how do we know that it is a mix of both and how to go about it ???
I took that Big Bus tour in Dubai. It was the first time to dubai as well using Big Bus for going around. I could not have made a better choice. Convenient pick up spots, guides at every halt, and a lot of freebies thrown in as well. Well worth the price!!!
The tour with the Big Bus was very nice. The busses were going every 20 minutes, so that was great to hop off and hop on 20 minutes later if you wanted. We had the 48 hours tour so we get the Sjarjah tour for free. This was also very nice and we have seen a lot of things. It started to rain the first day and then we get a raincoat from the hostes, great! The comments on board were also good. The only thing what we were missing were the signs where the stops were. We had trouble to find the first stop.
I purchased the 48 hour ticket merely for the Sharjah tour, I arrived on time. Waited at the location for 15minutes, only to find out that the bus already left, the agents would not refund the money. Also, your routing system for the buses need to change, Every country I visit, I yanked the big bus, the difference with their tour bus is that they have the red and blue lines stopping at the same stops at the same time so that if you just wanted to do a couple of sites on the red, you can transfer onto the blue line at the next stop, the Dubai tour is to long and there is to much traffic not to have both the blue and red lines stop in the same locations,
The tour was good, we had 24 hour tickets and we did it with our 5 year old. The distances between the stops are sometimes too far away and it takes a long time getting to the next one, so 24 hours is definitely not worth the price of the ticket. If you do the tour, get 48 hour tickets.
We chose to take the big bus around Dubai and it was an excellent way to see everything. Good commentary and the sites can be seen well from the bus. Saved the hassle of using public transport and it was a great intro.
