We had so much fun on the Big Bus in Vegas. We hopped aboard the 1st bus that came around, and road both the Strip loop and the Downtown loop. Jena was very knowledgable, and her driver -I think- Jimmy piloted the bus with great care. We also rode with Susan and Freddy, who were delighted to show us around their city. Angelina gave us good advice on when the next bus would be by. Oh wait, there was also a guy named Phil, who was amazing with languages and spoke with some of the patrons in their native tongue. I'm sure that made them feel welcomed. If only the days would have been longer.....
My wife and I have used open top city bus tours in many locations around the world, so were keen to experience the Vegas version. The tour routes are well placed, providing an excellent overview of the key sites. Both drivers and guides were generally helpful and friendly; having a real person explain the sites rather than a recorded monologue was a definite 'plus'. In our opinion, Phil was the best guide, providing excellent information mixed with a wonderful sense of humour. We booked in advance from the UK so were given a two day tour for the price of one; good value, albeit possibly expensive if the extra day wasn't included.
So why only 3 stars? Well, trying to locate any of the bus stops using the map from BigBus's website proved nearly impossible. Even when asking someone from the Wynn hotel where the bus stopped (the BigBus map showed a stop on the Strip) he pointed us in the wrong direction (the bus stops off the Strip in a side entrance to the hotel). Driving round on the bus we noted that most were not readily obvious (at one stop someone had hung their coat over the BigBus sign).
Then we (along with a number of passengers) missed a bus because it didn't stop at the right place and then ignored us all running after it. To be fair, when the next bus arrived the crew (especially the lady driver; sorry I can't recall your name) dealt with the matter promptly and arranged for us to have a free night tour.
Why a missed opportunity? We have a number of friends and colleagues who have visited Vegas numerous times, but not one of them has ever heard of the BigBus or seen advertising or bus stops while in Vegas. I appreciate there are a 'million' things all competing for one's time and money in Las Vegas, but I think the BigBus could do so much better. Would I recommend using the bus? Yes. but check carefully where the bus stops are.
I bought one of the tickets that was good for two days, and used it both days. It was a very positive experience! The tour guides were knowledgeable and funny, and it was so much better than listening to some old audio recording, like some buses have. The second day I accidently left my ticket back in my hotel room (4 blocks away), and was worried that I could not board the bus without it. But the man at the bus stop was able to contact his superiors and print me out a new ticket with no problem. I was so relieved! I am 67 and did not relish walking back to the hotel. Overall, I was very pleased with your company and the tour itself.
I was in town for my birthday and opted to do a city tour. Myron was my driver and Ernesto was the guide. They make an amazing team. Ernesto was very knowledgeable and had me in stitches. When I'm in town again, I will definitely do another tour and I hope i am lucky enough to get Ernesto and Myron again.
I have sent 2 emails and had no response and then phoned only to get a recorded message and phoned again . and yes a recorded message promising to get back to me. I have booked The hop on hop off in Las vegas the tickets are for one day /one night. I am asking for them to be changed to two days /one night I would really appreciate a response, They are tickets for 6 adults. Maybe you can get this sorted for me. I can supply further details of which I have done in the emails I have sent. Thank you
Loved the BigBus Tour as it showed us around Las Vegas and made us aware of spots we wanted to "check out". Some learnings we had were: don't treat the BigBus as a hop on hop off transit bus. That will not work out (especially if you are on limited time as we were). Use the BigBus tour on your first day in and typically reserve atleast half a day (for getting off at a spot, walking a bit and then getting back on) for the full tour. Do get additional transit bus pass if you wish to travel up and down the blvd (instead of cabs).
Good personality for a tour guide. But the city history was nearly nonexistent. He spent majoroty of time telling jokes. He was good with interpersonal with guests. But basically we went on a long bus ride to look at the view and simply wonder about the history since we got so little. This tour can be reduced by an hour or more easily. We could tell that the bus driver purposely drove sooooo slooooowly just to fill up timebc we crept at super slow speeds on streets that had nothing to see. Really, really recommend a shorter tour (time wise) and some history thrown in there. Mom and I really enjoy learning city history which is why the tours are generally appealing. This time, however, we came away disappointed. Thanks for asking for feedback.
Knowledgable, friendly, amusing guides and drivers. Convenient hop on and off option during day. Night tours include Las Vegas Blvd and downtown for light show. Guides offer suggestions on best sights and things to do while in Vegas. We purchased combination ticket with Grand Canyon tour for best value and upgraded for only $20 to add night tour -- for total of one day Grand Canyon, 2 days Vegas strip and downtown Vegas( hop on and off), and one night tour.
The guides, driver and other staff are very friendly. You can ask them everything. For first timers like us they have been very helpful about where to eat, where to shop and what to see in Vegas. Wish we have more time.
We had the 2 day pass and three different guides it was great for getting around Vegas and Nolan was the best guide by far guide and made the tour that much better with his knowledge and welcoming approach to the tour.
My husband and I had never visited Vegas before so wanted to see as much as possible and find out somei information about the place. This was the best choice we made.....the guides know their stuff and are very helpful. The fact that you can jump on and off at different stops is good as you can have a wander round. We made the most of the offer on the internet which was buy one day ticket and get the next days free. Great value for money .
The smartest thing we did was ride the big bus from start to end the first day we were there. We learned something about every hotel and historical spot, along with local color and places not to miss. Great intro. The next day we got back on and hopped from place to place.
