We really enjoyed both routes on Big Bus but if you have limited time go for the Miami Beach loop. This does not use ear-phones to pass on information, but a real person. Both of the guides we had were brilliant! We also added a boat trip and saw Miami at night. Even a drop of rain couldn't spoil seeing the buildings lit up along the shoreline. Everyone involved with the Big Bus trips - drivers, helpers, guides - were all very professional and made the trips a fantastic and memorable experience. Thank you, Big Bus!!
we stayed in downtown Miami and found it difficult to find a place to enter the bus. We entirely missed the beach tour as we had to walk a long way to the difficult to find start point, and when we found it the last bus drove away for our eyes..so we found the 80 $ was a bit a waste for us.
To get a first look of Miami, Big Bus Tours is great. We did the 3in1 thing, where you get to do both tours and can go on a boat ride too.
The city tour (red) and the boat were amazing. Both times the guides were very nice and answered all the questions. On the boat they even let you be capatain for a minute or so.
Later we wanted to do the Miami Beach tour too and had high expectations because of the first two being so good. Sadly we got a bit disappointed. Our guide did not seem very interested in telling us anything about Miami Beach, the Bus had technical problems and couldn't start twice and also there either was something wrong with the microphone or the guide just didn't care that no one understood a word he was saying - the only thing we did hear was wind noise.
Overall I'd say that BigBus Tours is great, just hope to get lucky with your guides and you'll have an awesome time.
We planned one entire day just for the big bus tour and it was great. The bus was on time, the staff very friendly, helpful and fun. even after we lost our tickets on the Causeway they were really helpful and replaced the tickets immediately without any problems. I would recommend this well organized and interesting tour to anybody but plan enough time since you can hop off wherever you d like to spend some more time in the places you are really interested. Bring enough water, a hat and sunscreen for the ultimate experience. Thank you Hudson and co. :)
I don't like that some buses have no audio. If you don't speak English you don't get anything out of it. Also, they guy in our bus you could not hear him at all and he was pretty close to us. Also, he did not remind us of the trees (as another guide had done on a different bus) so me and other guests were hit several times by the leaves.
We enjoyed the tour, especially the city portion as we had a sweet gal as a guide...much better than the beach tour where we had to listen to a terrible narration on the earbuds and annoying background music. One suggestion: Maybe we missed something but It would have been nice to know exactly where the bus stops are. We started the tour at Fountainbleu and didn't know which side of the street to stand. Saw the bus on the other side of the street & ran over there but it took off. Saw it back on the original side and ran back over there only for it to take off again because we couldn't get there on time because of the traffic.
- fair price;
- guides on board (they gave good information, one of them was really funny!);
- bus route;
- wait time between one bus and another.
- old bus (no air conditioning, no roof on the top; no wi-fi) - the competitor has all of this! One os the seats on the bus was broken and no one could use that.
We really enjoyed Miami sight seeing tour. we went for both bus and boat tours and enjoyed both. Live Voice guide option is great
My wife and I bought 48 hour passes and rode the bus on two days. We started from Ocean Drive the first day and made it to Bayside Marketplace. The food, drinks and shopping are great and we spent about 3 hours there and then rode back to Ocean Drive. Plan to spend some time there if you like good food and reasonable shopping prices. Mambo's Cafe has fresh and tasty food. The fajitas for two was more than enough for two people. The second day we rode to Bayside, grabbed a quick lunch and then took the Miami City tour. It was a beautiful and interesting ride. We then caught the Beach bus back to Ocean Drive. 10 minutes after getting off the bus, I noticed that I had lost my phone and realized I had it last on the City Tour bus. I called the BigBus Tours office and they promised to look for the phone, although I figured it was gone for good. The next morning I received a call saying they had found my phone on the bus. I got it back in perfect condition. BigBus was well worth the price and their service was excellent.
Wow what a wonderful trip!!! We had a blast! We purchased our tickets on line and printed them at home the night before our trip. We took the beach loop tour. Our tour guide was clear and enthusiastic. We hopped on and off and saw the south beach on our schedule. All of the staff we met at the stops we friendly and informative. Money well spent! Recommended to anyone wanted to see without the hassle of driving and parking! Loved loved it!

My wife and kids enjoyed everything thank you very much, I Think buses should run little bit later, maybe at 10:00 pm instead of saying last bus leaves 5:30, that way people have enough time for shopping, lunch, dinner, etc...
bought 3 in 1 Bus (beach+city) and boat. city tour was rubbish - gave us headset to plugin... could not get on boat because ticket was not valid according to the boat people - so had to fight for it took 40 minutes to get resolved and missed the trip to beach... not worth it ...
Great tour guides, friendly, knowledgeable. Reasonable price for the tour. It started raining at one point. I thought we'd have to go downstairs, out of the rain and with less of a view. But then the guide pulled out rain ponchos for us all. All of us except one couple stayed up on the top. The only thing I would change would be to have the tours run a little later. We had plenty of daylight left in the day, but the buses stopped running I think around 5.
We had a 24 hour ticket which we planned to use over two days. The first part of our tour was the beach tour. The guide was fun and had lots of information. It started to rain, but we were given rain ponchos and it didn't dampen our spirits. We didn't have time to get off anywhere, but still had a very nice tour. The next day we started on the city tour. The first disappointment was that we did not have a live guide, but got headphones that worked very well. We had planned to get off at a couple stops. We got off at Coconut Grove and walked around for about 1/2 hour. Then it started to rain and we had to wait about 45 minutes for the next bus. When it arrived, all of the seats were taken, but we could still get on. So we did; and stood for the rest of the tour, which was about another hour. That would have been okay, but it was very hot and there were no headsets available for the "standers". That whole tour was pretty much a fizzle. More like riding a city bus just to get back to the starting point. Next we took the boat tour. It was still raining, but we rode on the lower level and enjoyed seeing all of the huge houses of the stars. That guide was very good. This would be a very nice tour package, IF it isn't raining.
I took the Miami 48h Tour with The Big Bus Your company. They had a good price and many stops for hopping on and off. The route covered a big part of the city. The buses were simple, no air conditioning inside, no protection from the sun on the top seats. The live tours were not very good, some guides just didn´t want to talk much and would stay quiet for most of the ride. They do offer buses with recorded tour in many languages, and I would reccomend these to anyone, as it´s much more complete. A couple of times the buses were full and I had to wait for a whole half hour for the next one. Overall, a good hop on hop off, but not much comfort.
No words to describe the bad experience my family and I had. We were asked for the receipt before boarding the bus. However, explained to the bus conductor that I have ticket bookings that were given to us by the hotel staff but not the receipts. The bus conductor then rather aggressively told us we can't get on to the bus and wouldn't even listen to me thereafter. Then, we went to the BigBus tours booth and the person behind the booth printed out our receipts so that we could board the bus. THEN, the bus conductor actually came all the way from the Big Bus Tours bus to the booth to tell the guy not to give us the receipt and that he would not let us on the bus – it was almost like he had a personal vendetta against me and my family. Subsequently, the person in the Big Bus Tours booth did not give us the receipt. He started to tell us how the payment would come out of his pocket. He then went on to ask my wife if she worked. My wife responded by saying that she was a pediatrician. Then, he said, “oh, you must be rich…. So, are you willing to pay for my children” That being said, a rather heated argument ensued with my wife which to say the least was of low quality and doesn’t reflect well on the company. I might add that there were other tourists there watching in shock at the behavior Big Bus Tours staff. It was the worst experience we have ever had at any vacation we have gone to.
I was looking forward to this tour. The quality of buses came out in the open when it was raining. Even when we were sitting on the 1st level, there were droplets of water all over from the ceiling. So the quality of buses could have been much better.
Couple of tour guides were very good, but some were very disinterested. On the whole, I'd give a rating of 5 out of 10.
Had a wonderful time it was a great adventure we started early got the first bus around 9:30 @ Lincoln Rd Mall and did the tour of the beach and city with audio after which we did the city this time with a tour guide and the interaction with the tour guide was more intersting and we had fun, then we were able to stop off at diferrent points of interest and visited the sights, be prepared to do some walking and wear comfortable shoes. Our day was well spent the weather was a bit windy, and we were back on Lincoln road about 5:30 pm.
Will do it again when I have out of town visitors. A great tour.
Amazing experience!!! I live in Miami already 2 years, but I never had a chance to see all of it. So now I love it even more !!!!
Disappointed that the tour guide wasn't more informative. He simply kept repeating things, "Okay everybody get ready. The view of the Biltmore Hotel is coming up in two minutes.... Okay everyone in 1 minute you will see the view of the Biltmore Hotel.... Okay everyone, there it is!" And then he didn't go into any of the history or colorful past of the hotel.
In addition, I have not been able to get refunded for an unused ticket. When we discovered that we had accidentally bought one extra ticket, we brought it to the attention of the ticket agent. He said "no problem" we could notify the company online and they would reimburse for the ticket. I still haven't heard back from Customer Service. Had I known that I would have such difficulty, I would have tried ot re-sell the ticket to others who were on our same tour -- given that we had to wait for about a 1/2 hour before the bus took up and filled up. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. The reps/agents weren't confident about the schedule and times for bus pick ups.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING AND REIMBURSING ME FOR AN UNUSED TICKET. MUCH APPRECIATED.
