We really enjoyed both routes on Big Bus but if you have limited time go for the Miami Beach loop. This does not use ear-phones to pass on information, but a real person. Both of the guides we had were brilliant! We also added a boat trip and saw Miami at night. Even a drop of rain couldn't spoil seeing the buildings lit up along the shoreline. Everyone involved with the Big Bus trips - drivers, helpers, guides - were all very professional and made the trips a fantastic and memorable experience. Thank you, Big Bus!!
we stayed in downtown Miami and found it difficult to find a place to enter the bus. We entirely missed the beach tour as we had to walk a long way to the difficult to find start point, and when we found it the last bus drove away for our eyes..so we found the 80 $ was a bit a waste for us.
To get a first look of Miami, Big Bus Tours is great. We did the 3in1 thing, where you get to do both tours and can go on a boat ride too. The city tour (red) and the boat were amazing. Both times the guides were very nice and answered all the questions. On the boat they even let you be capatain for a minute or so. Later we wanted to do the Miami Beach tour too and had high expectations because of the first two being so good. Sadly we got a bit disappointed. Our guide did not seem very interested in telling us anything about Miami Beach, the Bus had technical problems and couldn't start twice and also there either was something wrong with the microphone or the guide just didn't care that no one understood a word he was saying - the only thing we did hear was wind noise. Overall I'd say that BigBus Tours is great, just hope to get lucky with your guides and you'll have an awesome time.
We planned one entire day just for the big bus tour and it was great. The bus was on time, the staff very friendly, helpful and fun. even after we lost our tickets on the Causeway they were really helpful and replaced the tickets immediately without any problems. I would recommend this well organized and interesting tour to anybody but plan enough time since you can hop off wherever you d like to spend some more time in the places you are really interested. Bring enough water, a hat and sunscreen for the ultimate experience. Thank you Hudson and co. :)
I don't like that some buses have no audio. If you don't speak English you don't get anything out of it. Also, they guy in our bus you could not hear him at all and he was pretty close to us. Also, he did not remind us of the trees (as another guide had done on a different bus) so me and other guests were hit several times by the leaves.
We enjoyed the tour, especially the city portion as we had a sweet gal as a guide...much better than the beach tour where we had to listen to a terrible narration on the earbuds and annoying background music. One suggestion: Maybe we missed something but It would have been nice to know exactly where the bus stops are. We started the tour at Fountainbleu and didn't know which side of the street to stand. Saw the bus on the other side of the street & ran over there but it took off. Saw it back on the original side and ran back over there only for it to take off again because we couldn't get there on time because of the traffic.
Efficient service for people that need know a place in a short time, I don´t liked that the tour finished at 6:00pm, this could be for more time because sold "24 hours", maybe 8 or 9pm could be better.
My wife and I bought 48 hour passes and rode the bus on two days. We started from Ocean Drive the first day and made it to Bayside Marketplace. The food, drinks and shopping are great and we spent about 3 hours there and then rode back to Ocean Drive. Plan to spend some time there if you like good food and reasonable shopping prices. Mambo's Cafe has fresh and tasty food. The fajitas for two was more than enough for two people. The second day we rode to Bayside, grabbed a quick lunch and then took the Miami City tour. It was a beautiful and interesting ride. We then caught the Beach bus back to Ocean Drive. 10 minutes after getting off the bus, I noticed that I had lost my phone and realized I had it last on the City Tour bus. I called the BigBus Tours office and they promised to look for the phone, although I figured it was gone for good. The next morning I received a call saying they had found my phone on the bus. I got it back in perfect condition. BigBus was well worth the price and their service was excellent.
