I've ordered from Boardgameguru a few times now and only once have I not had issues with damage to the game boxes. One time the packaging was so badly damaged I had to contact the owner and ask for a replacement. I was a little annoyed if I'm honest because the outer packaging was not damaged, so my games must have been put into the outer boxes already damaged. Still to their credit I was offered the option to send them back for a replacement which I did and there was no issue. However on other occasions the boxes have only been slightly damaged yet still enough to annoy me, and I haven't bothered sending them back (my own fault I suppose). A shame really as it's really put me off buying there because I like my games to be mint, even the boxes, so I have to say I do find myself going elsewhere now even if they're not as cheap, just because of previous experiences with damaged game boxes.
I have ordered from Paul twice. Both times the games arrived a couple of days after order. The packaging is nice and sturdy, but without waste (you have seen those huge boxes filled with wrapping materials, that then go to landfills). Paul, the proprietor of the store, e-mails notifications as he ships the order.
