Mobile phone of less than 1 month old sent in. Valued at around £10 which was bad enough but then had an email to say it failed testing as it was locked to a network! Like most I would imagine. They then said it would be worth £5.50 and if I didn't want it £5.00 to send the mobile back.
Dear Dawn, thanks for your comments. We'd like to respond. We see you sent us a Nokia Asha 201 for recycling. When we learned your device was network locked, you were contacted by email explaining the downgrade decision, but also offering you the original price if you were able to provide us with the unlocking code from your network (generally speaking networks will provide such numbers free to customers, but would charge us for them).
We're happy that if you were able to provide us with that code, we would be able to offer you double the price you'd get from our competitors - the original figure quoted to you. We think that's a great deal, and certainly not the act of a cowboy organisation.
