Abandoned by BT in a semi-rural location.

I don't live in the middle of nowhere. 20 mins drive from Oxford. 15 mins from Swindon. 30 mins from Newbury. I have two lines one residential one business. But for three years i have been fighting BT over poor and declining telephone and broadband service. The cable from my village to the exchange (2 miles) is decaying. Constant occurrences of noise, crossed lines and broadband speeds dropping down to a few kilobits. They come and fix symptoms but refuse to replace the cable. It must cost more to keep patching than to replace it. Furthermore there are no plans to ever upgrade my local exchange, let alone me, to fibre. People who use phrases like "upgrade everyone to fibre" really are gullible, or work for BT. Masai villages in Africa have better broadband connections than semi-rural locations in southern England. BT are a disgraceful hopelessly dysfunctional organisation.
