Good Communications - Forget About BT

Does the left arm know what the right arm is doing? Not at BT. Having failed to activate my Infinity broadband on the due date, they then failed to contact me as arranged more than twice, activated my Infinity without realising they had and then on the second arranged 'activation' date, managed to disconnect my perfectly working landline and broadband claiming an 'open fault' was to blame. A touch too coincidental possibly! 3 days later I am still without landline or broadband, engineers failed to locate the fault and now require access to my house in a further 2 days time. I'm dealing with the Chairman's Office as my one conversation with the call centre in Bangalore left me at screaming point - and they seem as powerless as I am to get things moving more quickly. Totally appalling.

Absolutely the worst

Incredibly rude and unhelpful customer service, extra charges for services I was told would be free. Cannot express how much you would be better off with any other company.

Poor service, expensive, slow speeds, unpredictable costs, hard to get to speak to a human

Fail to understand how a company this remote from it's customers, and expensive still exists. May as well be Bangalore Telecom, and why is it only when We've had enough and leave are they suddenly interested and the ability to deal with someone feigning empathy and caring comes in to the equation. Never again. Too expensive and too lacking in caring and customer service. Now we have left, somehow they say we have placed an order for 12 months telephone contrct, which we certainly did not. The explanation behind this when we contacted them made no sense and i'd question the legality, never mind the morality behind it. Never again, even leaving them is like getting rid of a bad smell that hangs around

Rubbish installation

I work in Harlow in Essex . Every day I visit my customers homes . I noted on many of bt installations also virgin media the way the internal and external boxes are fitted . Not straight . One screw to hold them on . Poor workmanship . I've seen two installs this week poorly fitted . I don't get to see the wiring behind . I can only assume the same . I asked my customers to report the work but people don't want to my friend is a manager . And used to be on the tools . No way would he have done any work like that . I'm not saying all fitters are like that .

Poor incompetent service, unprofessional and rude, also try to rip you off

Have had to call countless times to get the line connected after they messed up the order from day 1. There was already a BT line installed when I moved into my new flat yet they still had trouble. Took about a month to get connected, then the speeds are not as advertised and promised by BT. Then to top it all off they tried to bill be £80 odd pounds after they said they would give me a discount for the poor service after much complaining. INCOMPETANT, CARELESS AND RUDE

One star is misleading they do not even deserve that

Customer Service - Fragmented you can get shuffled through multiple departments in multiple countries.
Complaints - Laughable, on one ocaision I was told that OFCOM gives us x days to carry out this sod off and call after that time.
Service - erratic, noone knows what is going on.

Fibre optic broadband is crap if you want to share it with your housemates.
Waiting 25-30min to get to customer service, just to be put on hold by another adviser....

Shambles

I've been attempting to transfer my BT account to my new property but BT are incapable of doing it or communicating to me in any way what the problem is. Arranged with them on 12th Feb and problem still going strong.

Some problem has been caused by engineers turning up on 2 separate occasions without appointments, then finding no one in and treating it as a failed appointment.

The junction box is situated outside my front gate which makes it doubly frustrating that they can't work out what to do.

Would help if customer services had a clue what was going on and could explain it.

Definitely wish I'd gone with Virgin from the beginning but at least that can be remedied.

BT appear to have no regard for their customers whatsoever and if Openreach was not a monopoly it would clearly be out of business.

I've not dealt with such an unapologetically inefficient business for as long as I can remember

Billing Dept Incompetent

I've been with BT Business for sixteen months on a pay monthly contract and, so far, four out of my sixteen bills have been incorrect. The final straw came today when they've debited my account for more than twice the amount owed in spite of assurances ten days ago that it would be rectified. Until last month I was also paying £5 a month for a 'critical care' package promising six hour fault repair turnaround which proved to be useless on the two occasions I've had a fault. Can't wait for my contract to expire, there's no way I'll be staying with BT. Avoid unless you've got money to burn.

Update: I've just terminated my contract and moved to another provider because of the wasted hours spent trying to get BT advisors to understand my billing issues. Avoid at all costs.

BT the land which English law doesn't apply

So BT staff imply. ........
BT arranged engineer doesn't turn up despite letter of appointment. When installed BT staff acknowledge that the broadband fibre is faulted and has been so since installed, likewise BT TV which shows nothing different to freeview and doesn't receive the service purchased. False promises of call back , false promises of fault rectification date and now requests for £50 for no justified reason which I consider a scam. Passed back and forth from UK call centre to India. Week of calls in excess of 7 hours to no avail. Won't refund for faulty service and the best one is when a staff member tell me that English Law doest apply well doesn't that tell you something. Glad I am in the legal profession and have recorded every call to take to ofcom. For those out there and all that receive poor service from call staff and faulted service my advise would be not to complain through BT call staff but via the ombudsman and post your experience. If BT have like they did to me wasted a set appointment date in which they failed to attend then arrange another appointment who doesn't rectify the issue and continues to string you along having to take days off work then I intend to claim using the small claims court.

I was paying for 20meg yet it even buft on youtube
I CANCELED THE CONTRACT ( not fit for purpose )
Bt open reach came out 3 times
Put new lines in twice yet told me it was only running at 4 meg and that is the best i could ever get ?????
Now i run on Virgin 60meg no probs
I have a buisness email that i use

YET I AM A BT CUSTOMER AS I PAY FOR BT SPORT

The least serious company ever

They don't delivery the service on time, even when you are coming from another provider.
They have a very rude call center.
They try to cheat them clients in all aspects.
They are not efficient to fix the troubles that they own make.

I would suggest to you to go to SKY - they delivery what they promise.... (nothing more nothing less) but at least it works....

30 Years of BT BUT no more

I have been a Bt customer my entire adult life I have never been with Sky, Talk Talk or any of these other providers.
I am leaving BT as quickly as I can break my contract. I have never had to endure such disgusting customer service in my life. When BT outsourced their customer service to India, this was the beginning of the end for me with this company. By moving their customer services to India Bt have completely detached themselves from their customers. If you ever have a problem with BT you are in trouble, you will spend hours upon hours calling India to people who could not care less if you stay a BT customer or leave. I am completely disgusted with the way I have been treated by BT. The best thing I can do is vote with my wallet and leave.
UPDATE--
I eventually left BT and signed up with SKY. I never really wanted to leave BT but due to their lack of customer service I felt I had no choice. Also if you have problems with slow broadband speeds don't waste your time and sanity trying to get it improved. BT will never physically improve your line.

Customer lack of service

BT are due to install my phone line and broadband in March, a month after I ordered and paid for it. I phoned them up to ask if there was any possibility of an earlier date. Big mistake. Now, according to BT it's either coming on the 26th because the date can't be changed, or it's not coming on the 26th unless I pay £130 because I cancelled the appointment (I didn't), or it's coming on the 10th and I need to wait for a text message confirmation of that today, or it might come on the 11th but I need to wait for a phone call to confirm that on the 7th, or my existing line (see below for more details) will be reconnected via the exchange and available for use within 48 hours and that my installation is due for review on the 13th. That's just the phone line. The broadband equipment will arrive on the 10th when the phone line is installed, or it won't arrive until the 26th regardless of the date the phone line is installed because Parcel Force have it and won't sent it out any faster, or it will arrive soon after the phone line is installed. Even better there is definitely a BT line already in my house, there is definitely not a BT line in my house AND there might be a BT line in my house but it might not be the right kind of line which means I definitely need and engineer to come around AND I definitely don't.

Complete disgrace!

After having had over two years of BT phone and broadband without any issues, I decided to stay with them when I moved house. I had to agree to stay with them for another 18 months in order to get the new line installed for free. Then the problems started.

After waiting five weeks for an engineer, I finally had the line and fibre optic kit installed. Over the next few weeks I had problem after problem, ranging from snail-speed internet, to no dial tone on the phone.

Hours and hours spent on the phone, being passed around a call centre, only made the problems worse, and I got the overwhelming feeling that nobody actually knew what they were doing.

I finally got hold of the complaints team, who fixed the problem and offered £50 compensation. Great, except all the problems returned in less than two weeks! So I made a complaint to the ombudsman. Three months later the ombudsman tell me they can't do anything and that all I can do is call BT and ask them to fix the issues. Great, thanks! Like I haven't already tried that! All I can guess is that the ombudsman is getting some hefty backhanders from BT! Corporate greed and incompetence at its worst!

So poor I cancelled before they even took my line over! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Tried to move from Sky and looked all great online. But the company is a shambles with too many functions passing me from one to the next none of whom can help. Empty promises. No call back. No number I can call them on. Email that doesn't work. Online help where they ignore actualy messages and respond with a "look at the website" standard response. A complaints "priority" team that think its ok to call, leave a message, and then say they'll call back at some point the same day next week.

Without doubt the worst service I have ever had from any company. How are they still in business?

Thefts,horrible asian company .

The try to charge you twice be carreful ,all refunds in your bill are never and nowhere refunded.It is only in your bill and refund are going to bt staff pokets.
Bt staff should speake not asian english ,we dont understand to them .Speak British language .

Worst, service I have experienced, horrible company. AVOID

I have had so many problems with this company, I don't even know where to begin.
Worst customer service for sure, I've been misled, lied, sometimes they even hang up on you. They all say different thing on a phone, They sold me a package with false pretence that it was just cheaper then my previews package. of course it was a lie, He just took away my free calls, and i didn't even know, so nest month I received huge amount of bill just for phone calls. Sometimes I even get quarterly bill, without asking ofcorse, instead of monthly bill, and when i call them they say sorry, nothing we can do its an error.

AVOID BT... WORST IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY.

incompetent

After having broadband speed issue (0.2 mb/s) for 7 months with bt who could not resolve the problem i finaly switch to plusnet. I had the same problem with my new provider (they use bt line), so i call the customer service who resolved the issue in 4 minutes !!!! It was just a bad setting in my profile at the exange ! I could not beleived it : is bt that incompetent (plus their customer service are very rude, i don't even think that they understand what you told them).
Changing provider is the best thing i have done !
