Installation, long-term quality, after-sales support and brokerage/duty/tax issues.
Purchased brushed nickel version of this kitchen faucet in 2010 (UFG-KP-24152020). I have an undermount sink. Installation was a bit difficult through a countertop since the faucet uses an odd lopsided undercounter brace which when tightened applies more pressure to one side than the other. Never could get the faucet tightened enough so that it did not wobble slightly. When I inquired to HR how I could correct this, no solution was offered other than returning the unit for a refund.
I decided to live with the wobble, but over the past year, the clamp that holds the pull-down spray has loosened to the point that it no longer holds it inside the spout. I now have a "hang-down spray".
Currently waiting on parts or warranty. It's been a week and still no response from customer service after two requests.
Duty/brokerage fees: My package was shipped Fedex Ground at the time (2010). I was not charged anything extra upon delivery, but received a sizeable bill in the mail from Fedex Trade Networks two weeks later. Contacted HR who said I shouldn't have to pay anything extra. Assumed HR looked into it, but then received a second "reminder" from Fedex a few weeks later. Called Fedex and told them HR was supposed to pay and Fedex customer service rep said OK, the bill goes back to them after six months anyways. Looks like they use UPS now though and they charge their brokerage, duties and taxes on delivery.
UPDATE: Was contacted 12 days after my initial request. After a few questions, I was sent a replacement faucet under warranty. The only trade-off is that the brushed nickel version is discontinued, so they sent me a chrome one without telling me first. I'm still upping my review a star though. Wanted to clarify that I did not end up paying brokerage fees. If like others here, you get asked to pay something extra on delivery, simply refuse the parcel and send it back.
