Получил машину быстро. Какую заказал, такую и получил. Сдал без особых хлопот. Все было отлично. Хотелось бы получать сразу после сдачи авто депозит.
Booked my recent car hire in France through CarDelMar. The hire company was Europcar.
Booking -easy.
Pickup - quick and easy (very charming lady on desk)
Car - Fine
Dropoff - quick and easy
All in all it was a very pleasant experience and going throughCarDelMar was the cheapest of anybody on the internet!
They also give the security of free cancellation which many don't.
Fully recommended.
The booking process and the car were fine, but we did not appreciate standing in a queue at Tenerife Sur airport for over one hour to pick up the car keys. Maybe the Goldcar office was short-staffed that day, but the procedures seemed to be very slow and inefficient.
The staff we got the car from was not ready for the field. Upon my question she replied me that the car has not got hand brake, parking position was enough (mercedes e 200), which was not true. I saw a sign about the brake later in a parking place and asked a guy nearby, luckily he knew it and managed to help. I shared the complaint with the staff while i brought back the car.
All,
I've found this website with some thorough search in google and found interesting with the options and prices. So I've choosed this car-rental and would recommand the same to anyone, anywhere acroos the globe where ever Car-Delmar car-rental is available.
Thanks,
Mohan
car del mar arranged for us a car when we visited spain recently with centauro. a mini bus picked us up from valancia airport and took us to their office about half a mile away. all went well and the guys were all english speakers. we were allocated a acar but it was a bit battered with many scrapes and dents. in fact i could not tell if anybody had hit us or not.
all in all the service was good shame about the car!
My experience at the time seemed pretty normal, the service at the collection-counter was relatively straight forward (save for my two young children who were tired and grumpy from the plane journey).
The car was perfectly adequate and the drop-off process was nice and simple.
However, i was disgusted to realise I had been ripped-off when the invoice arrived at home.
I used a pre-pay voucher to cover the car cost, therefore the only thing i was expecting to see on the invoice was the cost of the child seat which was to be paid on the credit card.
However there were two additional items on the invoice:
- Collision damage waiver
- Super PAI (personal accident insurance)
with a combined cost of over £220.
These are things that you are NOT automatically opted-in for.
I did NOT choose to opt-in for this additional cover but it appears that the rep at the collections desk selected them for me.
The thing that really disgusts me (in addition to the cost) is that he did not mention these when he asked me to sign the forms.
He simply made a jovial comment about my 6mth old son (who was crying and I was struggling to pacify) and simply pointed to the box that I had to sign and gave me a pen.
I appreciate that it is my responsibility to read what I sign, but the sales rep spied an opportunity to sneak a couple of extra things on to bill in order to boost his sales. He took advantage of the distractions that I had with my children and not once did he point out the additional items on the agreement, let alone the additional costs they would incurr.
I am abolutely disgusted.
For reference:
The Rental Car desk was Avis
The airport was Malaga, Spain.
Whilst the hire price was reasonable this was not my best car hire experience and in summary:
1) Booked on line and first time I have used Car Del Mar; their supply partner was Avalon who were based in reasonably close proximity to the airport (short mini bus ride)
2) At the agreed rendezvous point I had to call Avalon for a pick-up
3) Staff on the Avalon desk were curt
4) An unexpected 200 Euros deposit was taken off my Visa card in addition to the full rental price
5) The allocated vehicle was an Alfa Romeo which was passed its best with numerous defects including multiple scratches and marks, broken side light, scruffy interior, missing sun visor and loose parcel shelf and came complete with its very own ants nest!
6) Upon returning the vehicle staff were again curt and I was asked to move the vehicle from the front customer car park area to the rear compound which was a little frustrating.
The car we hired was covered in minor damage, almost to much to list. We hired the car for 4 days and were advised that after 3 days the policy was to charge for a full tank of fuel with no credit on the balance of fuel on return and promptly deducted 70 euros form my card. Given that I wasn't planning to do much mileage and returned the car with half a tank of fuel this policy is a rip off. When booking the car, the return point was specified as the airport terminal. In reality it was some industrial estate some 10 minutes away from the airport not recognized by our sat nav. Having found the industrial estate we spent over 1 hour trying to find the car hire parking lot, in the end we had to phone the hire company to come and find us as we were in fear of missing our flight. Al in all I found the whole experience unsatisfactory and would not use this company again.
A very good service and a well maintained car provided. Our only point of consternation was when the engine was started just before retuirning the car to Eurocar at the airport, when the cooling warning light came on and did not go out. After checking that nothing was obviously amiss we restarted the engine and this time the warning was not displayed.
Having looked through 4 different car hire comparison websites, this was the most flexible and transparent one. They made a mistake with the car pick up point though - what I had on my confirmation didn't match what the rental agency had : different agency, but then I got upgraded for free.
Regarding "Bravo rent a car", it's a 3 stars out of 5 : we rented two cars, one had a door that wouldn't open, the other one was scratched all over, wouldn't go up steep streets and its trunk stopped opening after a while. The agency opening hours weren't applied (or were incorrect) and the staff was grumpy but eventually accomodating. It's was the cheapest we could find so no regret with our purchase though !
Found the staff at Europecar to be most helpful but was a bit disappointed to be charged £23.61 for delivery when our hotel was only a walk away from their office!! Fortunately they cancelled the collection bit so pleased with them on that score. Overall I must say I was pleased with the experience.
v good value for money, professional on the phone when I had a question and change, I will definitely use your company again
Car Delmar was good service shame about advantage car hire in france was awful they charged me for a full tank of petrol then when we got in the car and drove to the apartment I noticed the Gage was empty they also charged me for cleaning the car even though the car was dirty inside and had alot of damage on the outside, I would advise all driver to take out the damage collision extra as the French drivers are awful at driving and parking most cars there had alot of damage. The streets are narrow Car Parks narrower
Getting and returning the car worked very fast, without any problems (except from finding the Green Motion office in Edgware Road, which is rather tricky - best thing is just to enter Hilton and ask your way through to the car rental offices).
There were two things I did not like: First, the extraordinarly high processing fee (around 80GBP) which is due in case the company has to process any tickets arriving through the post. Naturally, getting a ticket is never nice, and you try to avoid it, and I agree that a certain processing fee is fair, but not 80GBP.
The other thing was that, other than stated in the prepaid voucher, we got the car with a quarter of a tank fuel level, and had to return it the same. Very annoying. In my opinion, the policy should always be full to full, everything else is just an annoyance for the customer.
Apart from this, everything was fair. The cars in the lowest class are very basic, but that's what you expect. All in all - very good value for the money.
The car was fine - the office was very difficult to find when we first arrived as the office is not on the airport site but off a roundabout outside the airport - also no-one explained to me upon collection of the vehicle that the office was closed between 12 and 14:00 hour and therefore when I returned the car at 13:15 the office and compound were locked. There were no instructions on the gate to give any information apart from that the office reopened at 14:00. It would have been helpful for the staff to have given this information as due to this I very nearly missed my flight.
I booked a hire car through Car Del Mar for my Scottish holiday, to collect from Edinburgh Station, and got confirmation of the details by email. A week before the trip I received booking documentation which said the pickup was Edinburgh Airport. I rang to explain they had made a mistake. They could not organise a car from that company from the railway station and insisted I rebook with another hire firm (through them) and pay an extra £50 to collect from the station. When I arrived at the station at the allotted time I was told there was no car available. My wife and I had to stand waiting in the station for two hours (I am 76 years old, she is 75) until a car was available. It was much bigger than the one I booked, and in order to take it I had to pay an additional £60. No explanation or apologies, or even a chair to wait on. A complete ripoff.
Generally the booking process was fine and receiving an upgrade was a bonus. Just a shame about the above.
Hired a golf gti at a very reasonable price and being a diesel did many kilometers very cheaply and comfortably in the mountains of the Pyrenees.
Service was good only slight problem was the distance between the office where I had to present myself to complete the booking and where the car was actually parked.
quickly able to match my requirements to a suitable car and hirer
... I thought the car I had booked was shown as having air conditioning (it gets very very hot in Wales!), but apart from that, which may well have been a myopic error on my part, everything was just fine.
Online it was difficult to find a rental car for the next day, so we decided to make a phone call. The lady on the phone was super helpful and friendly and organised a car for us for the next day. I would certainly recommend Cardelmar.
I have booked the car for one week at dusseldorf, and we had received very ggood car with a very good deal. I will only deal with you on the future...
Worst experience possible. Was unable to get a car and have still not received a refund despite requesting one the same day I was unable to get the car, which is now almost a week ago. Will never use them again. They are impossible to contact via the phone. I would not recommend them to anyone at all.
The staff were rude and hostile. They badgered us into extending our insurance saying how dangerous it was Italy to drive etc. Ripped us off by charging us for a full tank of diesel even though we only had the car for five days and used less than half a tank. Then wanted to charge us a fine of 35 Euros for brining back the car late even though we had phoned and explained why we were going to be late. Terrible terrible terrible
Never get what sort of car you are looking for . The car is for two suitcase but only fit for one. Can't turn the air conditioner on cause car shake too much. Sales try to asked you to take out another insurance from them.
The only issue I have is with the chaos in the reception area when collecting the car. The whole building needs sorting and more people need to be employed by Europcar.
An initial trawl of car hire website would suggest that CarDelMar prices are very competitive. However I was disappointed to find some costs were hidden in the small print such as one way fees and these did not include VAT which was another add on when I paid the bill. I still think the rates were competitive but why not clearly show all the costs at the outset rather than try to hide items like VAT which obviously have to be paid!
Hi. The partner firm you used was gold car in Pisa. I had to pay for a full tank of fuel and try to give the car back empty. This wasn't explained to me clearly before hiring the car and the hire car company got a free half tank on returning it.
More importantly they took a €1600 deposit on my credit card for excess insurance even though I had a uk excess waiver insurance policy. And on return the man signing it in didn't want to recognise the previous damage that I had to mark and get signed off at the reception the evening I collected it. Finally my family had to wait 1 1/2 hours to collect the car with a queue of just 6-8 people since it took so long for the 2 handover staff to process each car hire and to sell the excess insurance policy that came as a nasty surprise to the other customers.
I ordered a focus and got an Astra which isn't as good a car.
So right now will look to go with Another company next time.
We were delighted with the efficient service. No problems with the car and the staff both at the desk and in the garage were very helpful and friendly.
A Good service however the 20 euro out of hours pick up should be withdrawn.
Paying for a half of tank of fuel and returning the car empty is a practice that must stop, a licence to print money for the company.
Pick up the car full return it full, not difficult.
Precisely what you want on a car rental: easy, nice, good value. Thank you for being our perfect travel companions.
The booking was with a top rental provider but at a much discounted price. I got a low price deal and a good car with very good email communication prior to the pick up. Will use Car del Mar again.
1/ not the size i asked for : too big so huge gas consumption
2/ waited 1h and a half at the return point before being drived back to the airport
3/ the car i was guven was used to pick me up at the aiport therefore the tank wasn't completely full but they asked me to fill it when i returned it !
4/ personnal was not very comprehensive to these problems
We arrived at Bergerac on time..usual luggage wait..then into the bright sunshine..... what a treat from a dreary dismal rainy Scotland..one felt better almost at once......baggage on trolley to CarDelMar Hertze site for collection of car..Impressive external seating almost inviting to take a glass of wine while waiting....pity about the travel to the door from the Airport Exit such a push over stones and rough ground,,but it seems there are improvements on going..so our next visit should ,maybe, see CarDelMar inside the Airport building. there were a few others waiting for cars but the service was very quick and efficiently dealt with I was out within 6 minutes..My one concern was there was no check list of possible damage or defects on the car I was accepting....I did take photos of my Fiesta which had a small scratch and a missing radio ariel ,(made reception impossible through out the stay though that may have been my inadequacy )..car was nicely Valeted..On return again efficient receptionist about 2 minutes in and out..My one concern again was no check in of vehicle..having left my credit card details I am open to a charge were there to be some cause unbeknown to me or caused after I had left..what guarantees do I have that a sudden charge will not be made without my awareness..as has happened to previous customers....I do think a signature from CarDelMar releasing me of any responsibility would be sensible. There were no defects but I still feel a release note from CarDel Mar saying they had accepted the car from me in a good state would put me and others at ease.On the whole though a pleasant association.I will return..
Very easy to use website with a great price the downfall was that I wasn't made aware there would be a 30 euro charge extra per day (£220) as I'm between the age of 21-25. Which I could hardly not pay as I was already in my destination. For that reason I would never deal with again
Would certainly use again: straightforward site, good price, quick confirmation and no problems at picking up or return at Toulouse airport. Car was little, and not particularly nippy, but I had just needed a small run around - pool to restaurant- and I got what I paid for, it was clean and functionable.
I accept there is no point having a completely pristine hire car in Sicily given the roads and the drivers over there! However, there are some basics I expect when you are paying for a medium sized family holiday car. The car was covered in bumps and scrapes which wasn't really a problem but doesn't leave a great first impression. It wasn't particularly clean either when we got inside which again didn't leave a good impression. The car itself was a fiat bravo which was nice to drive - until it got dark or dusty. There was no water or windscreen washer in the car at all which can be dangerous when driving in dusty conditions - obviously we had to remedy this at our own cost. Secondly, the central locking didn't work which is a real pain when you are on a family holiday carrying small children, buckets and spades etc. Thirdly one of the headlights came on and off as it pleased which basically ruled out driving in the dark! The car didn't break down or anything and was nice to drive but I would expect the hire company to ensure these things were right before a car is taken away. We were not able to challenge the company as by the time we had reaslised the faults we were staying 2 1/2 hours away!
But do make sure to select the localised CarDelMar website.
In the UK, only the cardelmar.co.uk website really found the cheapest car (20...30% cheaper than on the cardelmar.de website).
