Bought a car last september, it broke down just short of a year of us owning it costing us £1200+ to fix. Carshop have ignored my letter/calls and the warranty company are claiming wear and tear. Don't fall for what they tell you, it won't be covered as the warranty company will try and wiggle their way out of it.
From Anne McMahon: - I looked online and found a couple of cars I was interested in at Carshop Doncaster.
One was not in the store but another had arrived which looked good and had very low mileage. I was asked what I thought of the car by an assistant and I said I wouldn't buy it because it smelt of cigarettes, the driver's seat was filthy and the console door handles etc. were very greasy. I was promised that the car would be fully valeted and the seat would be clean and this would be added to the order! So I bought the car. When I went in to collect it I was spoken to by two assistants and left to wait, I was offered a drink but not given one, taken to see someone else who was too busy, taken to someone else to pay, then to someone else to pick up the keys. Then I had to wait while cars were moved to get my car out and was asked to wait outside for the car to be brought round. It was windy and I waited while diesel was put in the car. When I was given the keys I saw the driver's seat was still filthy and the console greasy! The girl said she couldn't sort it as there was no-one to deal with it. There had been many assistants in the store and very few customers! I took the car home and my husband contacted the store the next day. The car was collected to be valeted and came back still with stains on the seat and greasy. Carshop were informed and collected the car again, eventually admitting that they could not get it clean and saying they would order a new seat cover. They kept it for 6 days this time, my husband ringing them each day but not rung back and even though I asked for it back as I needed a car. The car came back with a new seat cover but was still greasy and the driver was told and the store phoned once again. We went to Carshop and showed them wipes used to clean it and they agreed to have it collected and re-cleaned. It came back cleaned which was nearly a month after purchase! Carshop state 'We hope that your purchase has been a pleasant and enjoyable experience' but unfortunately this was not the case for me and my family.
I went to carshop in Doncaster to look at a car I'd seen online. Although I did feel a little rushed through the entire process everything was well. I was told, after agreeing on finance terms, that they would also throw in the gardx paint protection for free although on a thorough inspection of all costs they had actuslly put the £240 straight into the costs. After ringing several numbers and over the space of a week of trying to contact them I was offered the option to drive back to Doncaster and have the finance rearranged without the paint protection but at the exact same cost (I live 60 miles from Doncaster). I have spoken to three different people about the matter, all keen to push me onto someone else whilst sounding extremely uninterested and all three with completely different accounts of how this costing, which I was told to be completely free, after agreeing on a price, as a thank you for bringing my business from such a distance, ended up tangled in with all the costings. Currently going through the finance company and trading standards to try to get it off. Would never ever use carshop again, very unprofessional and misleading company.
Searching for cars with my Daughter for her to purchase, we visited about 6 other dealerships in the day, until the last call was made at Car Shop, Doncaster. We found a place with cars of all sizes and makes. There was such a variety that I actually ended up buying for myself. I feel that if anyone took the time to look around this establishment I`m sure they would find something suitable. The salesman was very helpful at all times, arranging a test drive and ensuring I was happy with all aspects of the sale without being overbearing, thankyou Paul Crummack for your helpfulness. My Daughter is now hoping to sort herself a vehicle from the same company.
Having seen a vehicle on the car shop website that i was interested in i decided to go to Doncaster and have a look around. The salesman that was appointed to me was very polite and helpful without being pushy.I was given plenty of time to look around without being hassled. My children were given an easter egg and balloons and i was offered coffee.Having chosen two vehicles it was no problem when i asked to test drive both.
Decision made the purchase process went very smoothly totally stress free ! Iwas very pleased with the part exchange price on my trade in vehicle and the whole finance lingo was explained to me very clearly by a bussiness manager who was more than happy to answer my questions.
The collection day also went extremely well and the lady that looked after me was lovely .
My new car was beautifully valeted and all the controls were shown to me before i drove off.
I could not praise The Car Shop at Doncaster more Wonderful experience.
Having just recently brought the family car from the car shop, I thought it was right in writing a review about the excellent customer care I received. Immediately I was greeted by friendly and willing to help staff, which of course put me at ease in the process of buying a car. From picking out our chosen car, I felt very accommodated and looked after by the staff, the collection process went extremely smoothly and the business manager made sure we were well catered for. I would definitely buy a car again from the car shop, the level of customer service was of a very high standard and would recommend to others.
I was told the car had a service when I had bought the car, but after I bought it, the tracking was out and there was noise coming from the back. I called them and they wanted to keep my car for a day, and be without a car. After a few phone calls, because I was angry, I was finally given a courtesy car for the day my car was booked in. After I got my car back, the port to charge my phone wasnt working. I called carshop a few times every single day for about 3 weeks and nobody would answer my calls. I left numerous voice messages leaving my number for someone to call me back, and nobody did. After about 5 weeks, I spoke to a manager. He took my details and promised me someone would call me back before the end of the next day. A whole week went by and I still hadn't heard anything. The following week I called back on that number and finally got to speak to someone who could help. The customer experience after you have bought the car is astrotious.
My friend recommended Car Shop to me after buying her car from there, now I've always been wary of Car Sales men but the people here were fantastic, not rude or pushy and the choice they have is unbelievable !! I test drove a couple of cars and decided upon one I fell in love with - 2 days later my car was ready to collect. When I picked it up it was gleaming and the lady who gave me all my paperwork for the new car was so helpful and friendly. Another bonus is both me and my friend will get £50 just for recommending me. I will spread the word about Car Shop and will go there again when I get my next car. !!
Had never purchased a car from this typeof outfit previously, so it was all new to me. There was no haggling over the price, merely the trade-in, which is quite different from how it was done 'in days of old'. However, my salesman (John Sledmore) was very helpful, was knowledgable about the car I was testing and interested in me as an individual. The whole transaction from arrival to driving away in my new car took just over 3 hours. I got a very good trade-in valus on my previous vehicle and I'm pleased with my new one. I would use them again.
Good service on arrival and help with finding our ideal car... Very friendly sales man (but that is their job) and smooth running of purchasing the actual car... However... Most staff following the sales person appeared rude and not very interested!! Also once the deal had been done and promises made of extras, ie: fuel, no one bothered with us or seemed interested, yet again.. Then upon collecting the car we rang in advance to make sure it was ready and tank like promised on the sale full due to us having an 8 week old baby so needed to be in and out, we arrived to find out nothing was ready... We then had to wait 2 hours to get our car... BUT whilst we were waiting for them to fill the car up as this had not been done already (like agreed prior to purchase!!) it was involved in an accident resulting in the paintwork being scratched (not to the fault of the guy driving) but if the fuel had have been put in before we got there like it was supposed to then it would never have happened...
This now means i have to take the car back 3 days after getting it to recieve a courtesy car so the work can be carried out...
May i just add when we were speaking to the manager about the crash he said "dont worry you are covered under warrenty" which made me laugh as we never even had the car and the crash was not our fault!!
Purchased our car from there before 16th December 2012, and it was agreed bonnet would be repaired at no cost to myself just ring customer services and they will book you in No problem I thought, the problem was getting in touch with Customer services. after a month of trying different numbers different times of the day I finally got it booked in. Took car in today (21 Jan 2013) at the arranged time with everything I need to get a courtesy car, no one there in customer services. Yes the weathers bad but I managed to get there for the time agreed with The CarShop a week before and I was 28 miles away! No one else could arrange the courtesy car other than the 'unavailable' Customer support. I spoke to 3 people who said they would find someone for me but in the 20 minutes I waited no one came. I found the manager and again explained my situation. I got somebody to take me back to work and drop me a car off later that day.
THEY ARE HAPPY SELLING YOU A CAR - AFTER THAT THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED!
Bought a car from there, told I would get £14k for my part ex, placed my deposit £300.
1 week later, car was ready and "fully serviced"
Manager said I will only give you £11k for yours, take it or leave it. They new I had no other option.
1) drove half way home, couldn't get the Bluetooth working which was a big factor for me. They admited they mis sold the car. No refund or compensation given.
2) 2days after buying - warning lights came on £200+ to fix. Carshop would not pay towards or refund my car.
3) 16days after buying - engine started to cut out.
Upon asking for the service book which they said they would post out, I found an old MOT cert in the manual, said it had done 25k more miles.
Got intouch with DVLA, TRADING STANDARDS, VOSA, and The finance company.
Carshop refused to refund, - all within 2 months of purchase.
Full investigation carried out my TRADING STANDARDS. This car had been clocked by the carshop. They removed 26k miles from the odometer. This was the 6th case in 2012.
Money returned by finance company - they was amazing 'close motor finance'
NEVER EVER BUY FROM CARSHOP
i have bought the from there, they said they had the full servise for the car just 1 month before i bought. After i bought my car, i went to dealer for the servise, guess what, the dealer found 5 problems with not show on there servise paper, on them servise paper were tick everything.
if you buy the car from there you need be aware.
Dodgy Place to buy car!!!!!
Tried to go for an Audi A5 priced at £13175 but was told "If you find the exact same vehicle cheaper elsewhere then we would be more then happy to do a price match for you" Found one exactly the same for £12250 and forwarded it onto them. I was then told (after waiting 5 hours to get a call back I ended up calling them!!!) that as their model has sat nav it does not qualify for the price match. Utter arseholes, poor customer care and have lost out on a sale. No negotiating a 'its this price and thats that' attitude. Wont be using them ever.
DO NOT GO THERE, promised to do some cosmetic repairs even had this noted on the sales contract which the so called manager signed.Upon collection 2 days later paintwork not repaired .I was offered a refund because I refused to take the car but they wanted to keep the £450 deposit, I was told "take it or leave it" .Manager at Doncaster abusive, scarcastic . Emailed Customer Services and they are just not interested basicly say sold as seen.
