I have used this company to recycle my family's phones as well as my company's phones. Some of them were really old and used and some of them were like 2-3 months old. Sometimes the prices were different but i was aware that could be the case as i did go through all their online info as well as reviews. I had the pleasure of speaking to a helpful young man yesterday by the name of Piers when i called to chase up my company's cheque payment. He was really helpful and advised me he will cancel and reissue the cheque for me. After thanking him for his help he asked me to leave a review which i am having a pleasure in doing now as we received that cheque this morning in the post. Thank You Piers

Sent my 9900 for recycle my price was £122 I got £100 after speaking to frank called this morning and was told my money will be in my account tomorrow I cant wait as me and my mates have a big night planned for tomorrow!!

Never use them.

Sent my phone in the envelope provided by the company, then received an e-mail stating that they did not receive my phone at all. complete scam!!!

Originally quoted £123 on Internet settled on 100 after telephone call with Piers!

Please could you explain the terms excessive wear and tear and handset works perfectly I have used a couple of these services before without difficulty. Cash4Phones offered the best rate, so under "Condition - Working". No mention of cosmetic condition being taken into consideration when processing the transaction.

I actually feel that my device was in good condition, yes some wear and tear - but it's been used! The screen is near perfect, so I was a shocked that you have valued the handset at £49.20 a reduced estimate from £123. Not too sure how you have arrived at £75 less. Please get back to me with an answer. Until this issue has been resolved I do not wish to agree to a sale. And I look forward to you honouring your original quote of £123.

First time seller sold a phone had no problems phone was downgraded by a couple of pound but the phone had some paint scratched off so i have no complaints im going to send my girlfriends phone into them as well ...although she will never be as epic as me .. love you

Ive recently sent off 3 HTC Sensations I have been quoted just over 63 pounds which I have recieved my email saying I will be getting this amount which is good Iv have been reading a few reports of downgrading of prices this is now the second time using cash 4 phones and havent had any trouble just make sure when you send your phones in you make sure that they are well protected.

I sent in my nokia C2 to cash4phones. they offered me the most amount of dosh for my fone so i decided to sent it in and wait to get paid. So i waited, and they emailed me to say theyve got the fone and paid me out. i got the money by a cheque went in to the bank the day i got it and cashed it in. Result

Sent my phone off no more than a week ago and already has my payment come through although I selected bank transfer i was worried at some of the reviews but they do say dont belive everything you read and this is a perfect example.

After I sent my phone into cash 4phones I thought I might as well check out the reviews for the company and I was horrified to what I saw.. I called them straight away however frank reassured me that everything would be ok. And I would get the monies owed. Low and behold a few days later I got paid out for the handset so I can't really complain

I sent in my w995 as it was just in a draw taking up space. I went online requested a pack and sent it bak in Freeport. They confirmed they received the phone and I got paid out swiftly not they kept in touch and kept me informed about what's going on.

3rd Time User!

I have recycled quite a number of handsets with this company now and have experienced things like a change in price, a regrade and a delay in payment. I can always say that every time i did received my money for my phones and any issues i had was always resolved with one of their CSA. The last person I dealt with Esther who really was helpful to me she regrade 3 of my phones and she contacted me back on the same day. She advised me if I could leave a review so as I received my payment yesterday I am more than happy to do so today. Thank You Esther!

Regrade Ok With me!!

Sent in my iPhone4S by special delivery. They received the phone and i received an email advising of a decreased price. I rang them and spoke to Piers who informed me he would be able to do a "regrade" for me. He called me back later that day and offered me a much better deal. I was happy and I accepted. About 2 days later i got an email telling me that it can take 10 working days for payment. I got my payment with that time according to my memory. I am leaving this review as Piers was very helpful to me and he asked me if i would so here's my review!

KEEP UP THE PRESSURE!!!

I used these toe rags thinking I was on a website I'd sold through before,as I'm usually very careful with online transactions. Big mistake! Like many others on here I sent in my BB9900 16th April after agreeing a price of £128. Paid for special delivery. Got e mail couple of days later saying offer reduced to £57.66 due to damage! (where do they get their figures from?) Argued my point as phone had only just been replaced and was perfect. Finally got agreement of £110. E mail on 2nd May saying money processed and being paid to my account which under normal banking system would take no more than 24 hours. Been pestering ever since. Rang yesterday and was told by an idiot that money would be in my account by 25th May due to 'accounts dept problems' very sorry' etc etc. Accused them of theft and fraud and threatened to report them if money was not in my account within 24 hours. Have today had £110 credited to my account so proof that they were talking absolute rubbish and payments can be made within 24 hours. I have already reported them to Watchdog and Citizens Advice Bureau and my next course of action was a recorded letter stating BREACH OF CONTRACT as advised by CAB who were very helpful. Will also report them to trading standards and any other company that I can to stop this blatant abuse. Can't stress enough what a crap company these scum are and the sooner they are removed the better but for all you out there still waiting for cash I advise keep fighting even if its only a small amount because they are raking in thousands by their devious methods. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

Absolute Con!

I was quoted £105 for my Samsung Galaxy s2 about a week ago. I have sent it to them and just like everyone else, this mythical "excessive wear and tear" has reduced the price of my phone to £42. Obviously this is unacceptable and in no way am I paying the £8.95 to have it returned. I will spend all day on the phone to customer service if I have too and after I get my money I will be contacting every watchdog there possibly is.

I hope people read these stories in the future, I wish I had before I used these fraudsters!

Full Amount Paid!!

I used this company to recycle my phone as they have the best prices online. I read all the reviews online and was a little skeptical but i needed the cash so i took pictures of my phone and i sent it in.
It was basically a new Samsung Galaxy 3 which i had for about a month but couldn't work it so decided to trade it in and get the money. I was told i would get £230 for it and i totally did. I didn't get any lower offer or anything. I did find that my emails did go in the junk inbox and i did also find that the payment time was a bit long. Other than that i cant really complain about the service i received as i did get an email through at every stage of my order. I would use them again and i would recommend them to anyone who wants a bit of cash.

i recently upgraded my contract and decided to go for an iPhone, leaving me with a HTC Wildfire s that i needed to get rid of. I decided to use a recycling company, and naturally decided to search for the best price. so I used a comparison site, which came up with cash 4 phones offering £26.50, which was the best price. So I sent off my phone, and after 4 days of hearing nothing, my mum suggested that i look up reviews of the company. Every review i read said basically the same thing, that they offered you a certain amount initially, then after 10 days, they recieved the phone, and would say that the phone had "moderate/extensive scratches on screen" and "moderate wear and tear" and they'd offer around £10 for it, (for me specifically it was £9.56). So when exactly that happened, they give you the option to "accept" or "reject" the offer. I was disgusted at this blatant lie, especially as i had the screen replaced 1 month prior to selling it. So I, naturally, decided that the best course of action was to reject the offer, and sell it on ebay. When I pressed "reject" it came up with a screen, saying that i had to pay THEM £8.95 as a penalty to get my own phone back!!!! I wrote them a strongly worded email, demanding they send my phone back free of charge or i would take legal action, which they ignored, and, two days later they processed my phone for recycling. I was furious, so I fired off another email, telling them I was disgusted at their terrible company, and, surprise surprise, heard nothing back, exept for a blanket email, saying my payment would be in my bank within 3-5 days. That was 11 days ago. So, once again, I emailed them, asking them where my payment was, and, well, I'm pretty sure you can glean what happened. So, to summarise, they are damn rip off merchants, they ignore their customers questions and needs, and not only will i never even think of using them again, but i will absolutely be discouraging all friends, family, anyone who is willing to listen, from using this ridiculous "company", if thats what you can call it. They are unproffesssional, ignorant and they take advantage of the people, like myself, who cannot afford to pay the £8.95 penalty to get THEIR phone/s back! In 4 words: Ridiculous. Rip. Off. Merchants. The End!!!!!!!!

Blackberry Torch Paid For!

Used this company to recycle my blackberry torch which i got paid £40 for which wasn't bad as i did have my phone for 2 years and it has had its fair share of drops and scratches. I would use them again the only thing i found was really long was the payment 10 days! received my payment today directly in my account result!

Sent away a blackberry torch in perfectly working order, no scratches, almost new looking- they said they would send me £80 for it. (Most other sites quoted from 30-60).
Anyway, sent the phone away by recorded delivery as I had my suspicions about this clowns & they eventually emailed me (around a month later) to say they were pleased to say I would be receiving my £26 within next two weeks... No reason for such a massive decline in quoted price..
I emailed them to ask for phone to be sent back and no response!
DON'T USE THESE CLOWNS!!! Try eBay or a reputable site first, even if offer is lower!
If I accept their downgraded offer, I would infact only be making £19 off the phone quoted as £80 (after taking out cost of recorded delivery..)
What's the point??!! Could have made more money flogging my old knickers on eBay...

Quoted top dollar for my and sent it off. I was then surprised to receive an email say my phone screen suffered from excessive scratches and my offer was revised to a third of the original one.

The screen suffered from fair wear and tear, certainly not that!

Judging by info online this is usual practice and the original offer is just a ticer which is more often than not revised heavily downwards.

Impossible to get hold of them and any email address you find bounces. Used the contact form on site and still no one has been in touch. No phone number in site.

Opted to pay the £8.95!!! to have my phone returned which I am now really concerned about having read the shocking reports on line about them.

Getting in touch with Trading Standards etc etc Shocking company to deal with.

So far so good havent had any problems yet everything seems smooth and im receiving updates by email and my online account the only floor so far if there phone lines can be busy although when you do get connected the service is faultless apart from that i cant complain on the service or the price offered.

Started good..turned bad..got better

I sent in my Samsung s2 with the intention of recieving full price for it by cash4phone , so i sent in my phone and awaited payment, however to my suprise i got an email from them sayin that my phone had been down graded for excessive wear and tear. I rang them i finally got through to them after waiting for 15mins, i spoke to Esther who pleasntly suprised me she swiftly helped me get what i wanted, and soon enough i got paid out. :)

I sent off my HTC Desire HD after i upgraded to a ONE and didnt have any problems at all I have used the company before and sent my handset off bubble wrapped and and was quoted full price which received today good times!!!

It was reasonable...

I bought my husband an Iphone 5 for his birthday even tho he just bought is Iphone 4S like 2 months or so. I have 4 kids so no time to check ten high street shops to sell it and even though i didn't get the original 200£ I got a reasonable price I think. I was downgraded to 164£. I mean I guess they have to make profit somewhere so well I don't think any other company will give a much better rate... otherwise they wouldn't be operating anymore. Although the only thing is that the cheque literally took 10 working days (Could have been done faster i would say!!!) Customer service was polite... they talked me through my worries and at the end I got my money and I have one worry less... I will use it again next time...

Scammers - avoid at all costs!

After sending two perfectly good phones off for recycling and getting an online quote for £47 each, I was very disappointed when receiving their offer email on receipt of phones of £30 for one of them and £11 for the other....one classed as "unworking". I emailed the company, no reply, so after holding for ages I eventually got through to an advisor who after listening to my complaint, upped the offer to £30 each. Hmmmm!!! Two weeks later I am still waiting to be paid for said phones. Not a good company at all!

Decent company, has some flaws but everyone does

I sent in my blackberry 9900 to cash4phones and to my Suprise the phone was downgraded, in their defence the phone had been used and lived a hard life but they offered me £26!!!!! I rang in straight away and Sharan answered the phone and dealt with the enquiry, they offered me an additional payment of £96 and try said that they would have the money in my account the next day, I was abit jubious about this however the money appeared the next morning so result! Got the monies in my hand. Done

They claim to offer the best prices for used phones, but they find faults where there are none and even though they claim you can dispute their judgements, their second opinions don't alter. I sent them a BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 which was two months old, working perfectly and without a scratch on it, yet they claimed it had mild to medium cosmetic damage; lowering their offer from £135 to £105 with no other explanation.

When I tried to contact them to dispute their valuation nobody would answer the phone, even though I tried more than once an hour during the course of an entire working day. Coincidentally, their telephone number has now been removed from their site, and has been replaced with an e-mail address.

Although they suggest payment will take 3-10 working days, I have been waiting 15, and when I asked them about the delay they said there had been 'some technical difficulties' and did not even offer an apology.

All in all they have had my phone and money for nearly a month.

If you want slow payments and terrible service by all means use Cash 4 Phones.

If you want the correct valuation for your phone, use someone else.

This company is awful.

I sent my phone out on the 12th MARCH, eventually got an offer on the 21st March, I received my payment on....8th MAY!!!!

The money didn't just arrive though, I literally emailed them about 17 times (don't bother doing that because THEY NEVER GET BACK TO YOU!!!!)

I also called up almost every day for the last two weeks, mostly dealing with Frank- if you get him on the line put the phone down because you will be wasting your time COMPLETELY!

From all of my chasing I had spent more on phone bills than the money I was getting back- so I asked them to email my instead- never got an email, so had to call back, then I got promised a call back, never got one, so I had to call again, and then again, and then again....

You get the picture!

I got completely messed around by this company from left to right and top to bottom.

They are the worst ran outfit I have EVER experienced and cannot begin to express the regret I had for having sent my phone to them.

It was a nightmare and every time I think about it, it is very stressful.

Please please please take my advice and don't bother even CONSIDERING using them!!!

very bad all round service and customer service

I would advise everyone to say well clear as they are scammers and would con you the second they got your phone etc and u won't get your by 72 Hours as stated on their site which is more like 5-10 days or when they can be bothered to send cheque via post or bank transfer which takes 3-5 day max to reach any account or could be in your account within 1-2 hours via fast payment if your bank and their bank excepts it. If u have received payment via cheque with in 5 days after they passed your phone contact action fraud or either trading standards Or your local police station. Same goes for bank transfer within 72 hr as stated on there site. Here's there customer service number 0845 460 1064.

Paid me £50 for a phone they originally stated they would pay £145 for. Still have not received payment 15 days after it was confirmed. No way of getting hold of company or any sign of money.

I have used cash in your gadgets (http://www.cashinyourgadgets.co.uk/) for my previous phones and they were much better so please take my word and DO NOT use Cash 4 Phones.

Experience Shared!

This company has been okay in my experience I have used them on a number of occasions to recycle my personal phones as well as my company's phones.
I got all email sent directly to my work email address as i did set them as a safe sender. I did have price changes along the way but queried a few over the phone and online and they always contacted me back at least within a day or two the longest. I made myself aware of their terms as i was responsible for company property as well as any fee's i can incur if a return is required. Payment have been at times a bit lengthy but I have always got my funds paid into the designated accounts.
I will continue to use this firm as i haven't had any problems recycling phones with them.
I will advise customers to ask questions and read before submitting as most of the things i have read online u can get the information to support.

I used them to recycle my Xperia 10 , when they received the phone they sent me an email but it went straight to my junk mail. The email stated they received it and the price was lower than i thought. I emailed through the online page and Piers contacted me the next day and he had a better price for me as he had taken another look at the phone. I accepted the new price when he called me and about 2 days later i received an email advising of payment time 3-10 days from the date of the email. I received my money in 8 days. Piers asked me if i could leave a review as he was very helpful to me i agreed.
I would use this company again and i have added their email address to my safe senders list for future use!

none payment / general wear

I had a galaxy s2 had screen proctor & plastic case on from day 1. Sent it them after being quoted £121. They did their checks new quote £98. General wear. I explained to them that screen, back etc was perfect. No response from them. No email. No money. ( I had accepted their lower amount but was not happy with their service. Even if ur fone is in 100% perfect condition they alway come in lower that the orginal quotation. I am still waiting my money 6 days later. I will never use this company again. Their customer service never reply. U also cant contact them by telephone.

UPDATE.
I have called cash4fone spoke to a man who was helpful tthey have agreed to give me another 10 towards my fone. Not the amount I was quoted but better than the second offer.

Theft

Sent my iphone 4 to them 3 weeks ago. Their website states that the money has been "paid" to me. I beg to differ. They don't answer phones, and have now conveniently removed their phone number from the website. Emails are replied to well over the 48 hours response time with a generic "you'll be paid in 3-10 working days" then they have the audacity to ask for you to leave them a review!! Well here is my review Cash4Phones: Thieves, scam artists, liars and cheats. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS FIRM if you actually want any money for YOUR phone. I can kiss goodbye to my phone and the much needed money. I've been very naive but have learned my lesson and will NEVER use any of these phone recycling sites again.

My Facts First Approach Worked!!!

I found this website easy to use but like any online company I use I have a look out for reviews online. I called them to find out about returning the phone, about how the pricing goes and well as zooming through bits of the T’s and C’s. I sent it in as I was satisfied I knew enough. After few days i received an email about the change in price so I wanted specifics so I called spoke to Frank and he said he will have another look. He called back in the afternoon telling me what he saw and how much they will now offer. I accepted as it was a much better price and my money was in my account today. To be honest i think everyone’s experience is different but I will stick by mines. I was asked by staff to please leave a review as I called them to give my feedback!

Recycled!!

I used them to recycle my phones for a bit of cash. I sent in a C3 and a Blackberry 9800 which i had for a while so I didnt think i would get full price but it was a bit low so I called them up to ask about a better deal for the phones as i didnt want them back. I spoke to Sharan and she called me back later in the afternoon on the same day with a better offer, which I accepted .
Payment did take longer than i expected but the money was in my account this morning. Overall I would use this company again and I would recommend them but I will say what my experience was so they will know length wise!

FRAUDSTERS - AVOID

Unfortunately I sent my almost brand new BlackBerry off to this company without checking reviews. BIG MISTAKE!
They took over a week to acknowledge receipt of the phone, althouigh they still had not emailed to confirm the arrival. I had to check on their website. Upon checking I found that they had offered me a measely £15.00. It stated that the phone had excessive scratches on the screen!
The phone had a screen protector on the entire time it was used, plus kept in a case. It had then lovingly been forgotten about in a drawer for the past 12 months.
I had tested the phone personally, it was perfect. I removed the screen cover before sending it so that it looked a little tidier.
They now want £8.95 to return the phone, however payment for this can only be made by card - which I am unprepared to do seeing as they are scam artists. I have offered to send a self addressed jiffy bag with £8.95 postage on, will see the response.
Also - should I ever see my phone again, I am concerned that it may not be in the same condition it was sent in.

Scam Artists

I got a quote for my iphone 4 which was in perfect condition for £138. Got sent a ridiculous envelope for it so i bubble wrapped it up and sent it off the beginning of april. They then emailed me to say that due to moderate wear and tear it was only worth £62! I accepted it because i knew if I asked for it back it would probably come back smashed. On April 17th they said i would receive a cheque within 10 days. I called them on the 29th April and 2nd May to say that i still havent received this cheque and they said it was in the post sent out 2nd class so may take longer to get. They hardly ever answer the phone and i have sent them emails. Think i have been done! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Scam artists, Avoid at ALL costs

Got a quote for my Iphone 4 which was in mint condition, always been used with a screen protector & full case. Offered me £138. They sent me an envelope but as it was so flimsy I wrapped my phone in kitchen roll severaltimes & put in in a small padded envelop then into theirs. 4 days later they emailed me & said it was excessively damaged & offered me £40. This was completely & utterly untrue I was livid & rang them immediately. They then upped their offer without even quibbling to £90. Still a total scam
I finally accepted a 'revised' offer & received an email saying the money was being transferred. That was on April 20th & I am still waiting for payment. I called them on Wed & they told me the money would be in my account by 10 am today. NOT!! I rang them 20 mins ago the guy said oh sorry it's our error you'll have by Thurs next week?!
Utterly disgraceful company, total con artists & half the time when you ring (on their premium 0845 number) you get put on hold for 10 mins then cut off
AVOID AVOID AVOID... I am a police officer & will be taking this further & posting everywhere warning colleagues to steer clear
