Stay clear of clear

I initially switched over to clear because of the "value" . My 1st mistake not listening to what my parents told me, you get what you pay for". So true. I have had a problem with all three services mobile, home internet , and phone. I was told that I was located between two towers but i never get more than 3 signal bars, so that means no streaming video or movies, playing video games is a no go lag laggy and laggier. And god forbid trying to download its slower than dial up. And PLEASE don't try to use more than one device at a time, you can make a meal eat and clean up before u can watch a full youtube video thats 2 minutes long. But for $90 a month what the heck did i expect?? I expected something better than a perpetual headache.

If you have reliable service thats a little pricey keep it. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT switch to clear. You will be pulling your hair out and yelling at the modem in a heartbeat. Save yourself the aggravation.

I gave 2 stars instead of one because the customer service reps try to be accommodating if you can get someone you can understand clearly, which is impossible if you use clear phone service. Use your cell phone in a dead area surrounded by copper to get better reception when calling them.

Optimum online here i come.

Hard to believe such a bad company can exist.

clearwiresucks.com says it all. There are hundreds of people that get ripped off and scammed by this excuse for a company all the time. We had to go to them because our house doesn't have a wired internet option, so we must go wireless. Clear says they give you unlimited internet, but they don't. My connection seems to be in a bad spot so I get about 3Mb/s when I'm not throttled, and 0.2Mb/s-0.8Mb/s when I am. Now you may be wondering, "throttled? They're unlimited!" Well, after we use some data, and it's unspecified how much data it takes, the tower "manages" our connection. A tech support representative even admitted it. The service drops a good 5 times/day, sometimes for hours as well. Now, if their false advertising isn't bad enough, they also lie to our faces. When we first got the service, we got two modems, one for each of our two computers. They told us that the two modems would have one charge of $35/month. They charged us twice that and charged us over $300 for an early termination fee, all because one of their own lied to us. I'm only still with them because they're cheaper than satellite. Did I mention that of the dozen or so times I called their tech support, every time it's someone from Korea or India that doesn't know what they're talking about? As soon as switching to Verizon becomes practical, we can finally ditch this terrible ISP. We're not the only ones with these problems. Google "clearwiresucks.com' and you can see HUNDREDS of people with experiences like mine.
Also, they aren't satellite, they use cell towers to provide their service.

Edit: For those in or near Las Vegas who need wireless, look up LV.net. Very similar wireless service, but much much better quality.

Clear my A**

They sold me the CLEAR 4G Mobile USB for $20 a week ago, it won't do what I need (connect multiple computers), now they want me to pay $74.99 for the voyager, even though they advertise it at $49.99, because "That is only available to new customers."
They expect me to pay to ship it back, then after they get it, I have to wait for 2-3 weeks before I can get the new device, the whole time I am paying for internet I can't use.
The speed is only 200kps on a good day, they deceive their customers, and have terrible service. Go somewhere else.
