I have ordered from Discountpetcare for a few years and their previous company before that, I have had no problems receiving the products and they are reasonably priced. I have two dogs and two cats and use Advocate on all of them and also buy the worming tablets. None of my pets have ever suffered from any side effects from using these products and I have never had concerns for their health. Yes the invoice is different from the amount you pay but for heavens sake it tells you the correct price on their website next to the item and when you order so you know what you are going to pay so it isn't a scam is it if you know what it costs. It is obviously to save us costs on import duties which I am all for. I have on one occasion had to contact them when a parcel didn't arrive which I did by email to their support email address, leaving my telephone number on the email. I was contacted within three days and they were very helpful suggesting that the parcel had been mislaid in the post and re-posting my order to me at no extra cost. Even companies in the UK aren't usually too quick to do this and taking your word for it that you haven't received the goods. I hope they come back soon under whatever new name they have.
I have used discountpetcare for years and in it's previous online name without any problems with the products. Yes they come from outside the UK and are usually with me in less than 9 working days. The products I have are Profender spot on wormer for Cats and it was all legit products and no problems with it on my cats and Frontline Combo for the dogs and cats again all legit and no problems. All I noticed was the invoice was always much lower than was actually added up in the cart online and what was actually debited from my card. I had suspected it was something to do with customs so that we customers are not slapped with heavy customs tax into the UK. I've had jiffy packs from Singapore, US, and other countries but ALWAYS the products were legit and barcodes etc all were confirmed by the manufacturer when I checked at the beginning when I was first ordering.
Hope the website comes back up but probably be a new name or something. I realised something was wrong before Christmas when I was not getting their normal emails with offers etc. Never had to provide a prescription and I hate that the vets in the UK can fleece us owners from anything £15 upwards per dog or cat as they will not put more than one dog or cat on a prescription and we would have to ask for a yearly prescription.
I am very concerned about the reviews this company seems to be getting and wish to make sure no-one confuses it with my shop in Nether Heage, Derbyshire which is also called Discount Pets! I just wish it known we are nothing to do with this company in Stockport, or any other shop or business sharing this name!!!!

I have used this company for some time. The price on the website has always been more then the corresponding invoice. Stupidly, I thought perhaps I was receiving 'discount' as a valued, regular customer. However, having once checked my bank account, I found the actual amount of money taken, bore no relation to either. I immediately emailed Discount Pet Care and demanded an explanation if not a refund. Their response informed me that this was a computer error. On this basis; they are in dire need of a new one. The last three invoices I received total £38.59. The amount debited to my bank was £91.24. I thought I might try one more order, which would enable me to have proof for my bank, that this looked very much like a scam. My account was debited with the 'correct' amount, but credited with the same the following day. The goods never arrived. I wonder if I have upset them.
I ordered Advocate for my 2 dogs - 1 large, 1 smal - then was alarmed to find that although the invoice from Discount Pet Care was for the amount £12.68 they had, in fact taken £46.97. I emailed them 3 times - no answer. Only then did I see the reviews on this site. I'm now worried about using the Advocate although absolutely everything, including the sticky labels and the enclosed information leaflet look authentic. I think I have a problem with the bank. though, because I used a debit card. They can block any further payments but will not refund any money. I mistook them fornother site I had previouisly used.
My dogs Advocate eventually arrived 12 days after the order was made and arrived via Singapore with an invoice for shipping costs of £ 13.71, at least the postman did not ask for the post charges. My bank Barclay's has put a stop on Discount Petcare .co .uk from taking other charges from my account and will start proceedings to investigate the company. Having spoken to Bayer the manufacturer of Advocate they are aware of this company but do no business with it. They are unable to say how this company actually gets hold of their products and despite in the past batch numbers on boxes sent by Discountpetcare being verified by Bayer they cannot authenticate them as being genuine as even the boxes can be counterfeited. They do not recommend using the product as it may not have been stored in its travels around the World at the correct temperature. This company is based in Mauritius but the packaging the Advocate arrived in was stamped as coming from Singapore.
I have used this company before but never again. Ordered 12 pipettes of Advocate and £59 was taken from my account. This included 5 percent discount. I didn't check the email confirmation as I've never had a problem before. Three days later 12 pipettes of Advotik arrived with an invoice for £12.98 from Singapore! Sent them an email and this is apparently my fault! Asked for a phone number so I could discuss the problem with the "Customer Service Team, " and guess what? Yes I've heard nothing.
This is the second time I have used Discount pets. First time I ordered Previcox I sent a prescription, drugs arrived and everything was fine. This time I didn't have the use of a scanner to e-mail my prescription so tried to find an address or fax number, it appears no such thing exists. when I e-mailed them to explain I couldn't send the prescription they confirmed the drugs had already been sent which in itself concerned me. When the drugs arrived there was a custom label attached to the envelope. Now alarm bells are ringing and I'm worried to give them to my dog, although the previous prescription was absolutely fine. I can't say that this company is a scam as I have both times received the order and they are literally half the price of the vets. But saying that it is obviously not legitimate and above board. My only concern is that the drugs are safe to give to my dog and also that they work properly. As far as I am concerned if no person or animal has suffered in the process of me obtaining these drugs and they are safe and do as they should, I don't have a problem as the price the British vets charge is an absolute scam.
I paid £66.80 for advocate spot on for dogs and cats and got an invoice for £13.80 I also don't understand why the packet came form Singapore when they are supposed to be from uk I have emailed them several times and have not received a reply. ordered milbemax wormers a few months ago came after 2 weeks all ok and genuine. the reason they are cheap and they can afford to sell at the prices stated is for exchange rates uk pound to the (sin - dollar) invoice kept low for shipping purposes or you will fit the bill for import tax to uk etc. something that cost £18 would slap you a £20 or so import duty tax from courier who delivers to your door the reason why hence invoice is different and a lot lower work it out products abroad are cheaper then the uk exchange rates etc. and vet strength products without perception that cost arm and a leg here . its not rocket science they sell to uk and around the world no one would buy if the prices and shipping prices high reason they can afford to offer the same products cheaper then the country your in ??????
I have been using this website for a few years now and have never had a problem! The stuff turns up, normally within 2 weeks, often quicker, and they have all worked. If they're copies, they darned good ones as I checked 1st time and they were absolutely identical. i assumed the low invoice in the package was for customs purposes as they would need to declare a value and this is probably cost price?
i also found the invoice to be cheaper than the order just shows the company has there head screwed on the right way... the lower the invoice the lower the TAX they pay to the UK gov and good on them i say.....if vets sold it at a reasonable price and didn't demand u also pay £30 per pet (£90 for me)for a UNESSENTIAL vets appointment then ppl wud buy from them and not overseas
When I first ordere goods from this company I wanted to get in touch with them but couldn't, I typed in their address and postal code and it came up with a completely different address. I emailed the company who had the same address as Discount Petcare, and was told they use their offices to collect their orders as they are an online business so do not have their own premises.
I rang my credit card company and spoke to the security department, they checked for me and said as far as they were concerned it was a legitimate company but if I had problems to get back to them and they would flag it just in case.
My products came, as you mentioned the invoice price was lower than the actual price paid, but I have found out that they do this so they do not incur high custom charges.
When I checked my worming tablets and drops, I rang the actual company who make these items and told them of my concerns about them being copies. They checked the batch numbers and expiry dates and another number on the boxes and confirmed they were the original item.
I was going to order some more items today but you have all now worried me.
This was posted via Singapore, I received it today. It was sent to me within one week. Looking at the box and comparing it to a genuine box, it is totally identical to the real one, can't see how it could be counterfeit? I was invoiced for £13 on the enclosed invoice, it this maybe what discount pet care pay for the product? Do I dare use it?
Don't think I will use them again. Reason they gave for supplying goods from abroad is that they did not receive a vet prescription. The web site did not indicate the product required a prescription. The invoice and customs declaration showed the value of the goods as being a lot less than they charged me. If you want foreign products (my product indicates South African manufacture) shipped from Singapore go ahead and place your order. If this is the case they should say so - it is misleading to advertise as genuine and UK products when they are not.
