Last minute I decided to take my daughter to Thomas World, I booked the tickets on-line and off we went. We arrived at 12.45, took a long walk round the zoo and then waited to ride Thomas the train back over to the rides. My daughter was hungry so we went to get food and it was at this point the park suddenly closed. I asked the staff in the resturant as did other families if it was the whole park or just the resturant and we were all supprised to discover it was the whole park. The family next to me had driven from Plymouth. I had to explain to my 3 year old daughter why she couldnt go on the rides which was very upsetting. As we walked out of the park I approached a young man from guest services and asked why the park was closing. His attitude was an absolute disgrace, I have nothing else to say. No empathy towards me or my daughter. In fact he was so rude I had to walk away, calm down and go back. He stated that "last month we even asked marketing to put a banner on the website so I don't know how you missed it" Suggesting that I was in the wrong. I walked away checked the website and didn't see any clear banner her referred to. So I went back and asked him to show me where it is. At this point he denied what he had just stated, basically calling me a liar. I was fuming so I asked for his managers details at which point he stated "Ill give him Bob, he will tell him". The worst part about all this was my little girl having to witness this. I cant put into words how rude and bitchy he was. A young lady gave her two pence worth stating well we have closed at 2.30pm every year for the last six years, what a stupid thing to say, my only daughter is 3 and this is our first visit. They also stated it was clearly sign posted all over the park, but in the wooden plaque outside their own office where it states "today rides close at" was blank. If they close at 2.30pm fine, but it needs to be clearer. The staff need to get kids of their own and maybe they will be more sympathetic to the situation.
Took my son and nephew to Thomas World - what a waste of money. The queues were enormous, and the attractions a waste of time. The funniest was the 45 minute wait for a 3 minute train ride! And then you couldn't go back, you had to get off to queue again.
