Purchased items from China, never received. Opened a case. Case said it would expire in certain amount of days. Seller responded he would resend me the items. The case expired, and I never received items.
This is fraud since Ebay only allows so many days to work with international sellers (when shippments take over two weeks to arrive) and there is no time if it doesn't arrive to work out another solution. You basically pay for the item and don't receive it your SOL.
Ebay caller support did nothing.
Beware of doing business with international companies
Buying and you tend to be ok. Selling, a whole different story. Heavy charges for listing, selling and even charged for PAYPAL as well. Expect to lose a fortune for selling!
If anything goes wrong expect to lose more as ebay almost always side with the buyer. Don't get me wrong that is handy when you are the buyer and there are so many abysmal sellers on ebay and deserve the hassles. The down side is the decent sellers also become targets :(
I don't know who people bother selling on ebay if I am being honest!
Leave negative feedback as a seller due to abysmal sellers and it gets deleted allowing for the sellers to continue ripping others off!
They are only now starting to follow UK guides for distance selling laws. Even now some are not followed. Contact ebay? LOL You are having a laugh! No chance!
WARNING! Selling on eBay? be aware that it invariably sides with your Buyers, NOT its Sellers, who make it rich. I have been selling on eBay for years and one of my Buyers missed the cut-off date to return an Item, so tried to force one by falsely claiming that my Item was fake.
I provided eBay with numerous clear pics of the Item, which is a little-known brand of jacket, with modest sales and which has never been faked.
As I expected, these loathsome characters at eBay.co.uk found in the Buyer's favour and have ordered me to refund him.
I brought item from ebay and did not received after 30 days i contact the seller and he told me i will send again in two days but after 60 days no item received. Then i understand he did not send item even a single time .When i tried to contact ebay to take action against seller they told me. It has now been over 30 days on eBay. "Your purchase is no longer eligible for eBay Buyer Protection because the case was opened past the eligibility time. They Have opened a case for it and message the person and he said to me close the case then i will refund you but i did not close the case and case automatically closed after 30 days.but did not get refund. Also cannot place feedback for the item on eBay now, was going to be bad feedback and really wanted to post it. Both ebay and seller wasted my 90 days and i did not get any thing. Would like to get a refund.
Been a seller (2000 sales) and buyer for about two years, paid over 5000 quid of commissions and they blocked my account, it's impossible to find out why, they don't read their emails, customer service has virtually no power to do anything about anything.
It's too bad because sellers on ebay are actully great but they gotta suffer because they simply can't hire people who are competent enough to answer an email.
Congrats ebay, you lose yet another customer to amazon
We all know how awful eBay is nowadays. Many sellers have seen their sales fall year on year, their fees increase year on year and their customer service is beyond frustrating (I think they must train their staff how best to upset their users with ridiculous excuses!). Giants do fall - Nokia? Blackberry? the search engine AltaVista, Netscape Navigator. eBay thinks it is invincible, hence their attitude - well an ocean is made of drops, if enough drops emigrate to eBid it will become an ocean and eBay will falter. We have made the move, we've sold on eBay for 10 years, we're Top Rated Sellers of Platinum Status and have held that status for many years. Enough is enough, we've made the move as many others have too. Understandably if you can't just stop selling on eBay altogether at least run them parallel and encourage your customers (email lists, etc) to make future purchases on eBid. You can offer them financial incentives as it costs SO MUCH less to sell on eBid. Currently there are 3,428,407 listings in the UK, with new listings in the last 24hrs : 78,514, its beginning to grow lets join together and make it happen.
How eBay works? By attracting buyers "scammers", no matter how, just attracting all buyers, more and more buyers to buy on eBay! This means offer "buyer protection policy", but no seller protection policy, do not give seller a chance to leave negative " true " feedback for buyer but let buyer post negative feedback against seller. This means anyone can buy anything on eBay, keep the item, report that the item is not as described , seller will be forced to return the money (as it is being hold by EBay and Paypal always) buyer returns an empty box, and if the seller complains, the buyer provides prove of posting which means eBay decides in favor of the buyer, always, every time, the buyer wins. This way it is more convenient for eBay, as this way the money comes in non-stop, the buyer keeps buying more and more, and buyers are going crazy about getting quality products for dirty cheap prices. EBay will never decide in sellers favor as this means losses, losing money loosing buyers:-) Who cares? It will never stop as people are greedy and need everything, cheap, cheaper, or for free! Well done EBay, you are now rich:-)
I have been an eBay seller and buyer for years and the once in a while when I have had any issues the customer service reps artfully dodge solving your problem. They never address a direct way to fix the problem and talk in a patronizing way to get you off the phone ASAP.
The Ebay administration is dominated by incompetence. Their inability to provide sellers with the respect they deserve is extraordinarily insulting; it is clearly evident to anyone who has attempted to contact their 'customer service,' and miraculously succeeded, that these people are devoid of any interest in assisting you with your issue at hand. To most consumers on Ebay, who have no experience selling, Ebay is an acceptable site, successful in facilitating the process of finding the best deals. On the other hand, sellers are sucked dry by their parasitical fees posed by the mosquitoes we call the Ebay administration. Their greed dwarfs and impairs their ability to properly serve their deserving sellers. Many are countless cases of good sellers neglected and suspended for no apparent reason, other than the ineptitude of the Ebay administration.
Their customer service sucks! It's centered out of the Philipines and they promise you stuff and they never deliver. Happened 5 times over a stupid credit. You will never get an American agent on the phone. (at least they deliver on their word) All the Philipinos at the center are dishonest and liars. You should never use ebay for this company never ever uses American labor for one and will never use email for customer care. There is something very dishonest and fishy about ebay.
There is no humanity. Corporations now rule the world. Ebay will happily allow a complete stranger to rob you & hold your money for weeks with no comeback & no help whatsoever. It is run by robots with no human compassion whatsoever. they pay very little UK corporate tax & their staff will follow the rules to the letter regardless of whether tha helps you or the criminal abusing the system. They are robots only interested in profits - of which they make an enormous amount & live in a grey hinterland of self righteousness devoid of ethics or human care & interest. DO NOT trust ebay or paypal. They are rubbish & very expensive for an indifferent & poor service. Profiteers from the poor, unethical to the last man.
eBay wont let me sell on there site for a strange website but it says i can on the selling page and when the listing is ready it says it cannot be published due to restrictions ebay wont tell me what the restriction is.
My recent auction ended with a buyer selecting the Buy It Now option, however, it seems the buyers account had been hacked and quite understandably Ebay cancelled the listing, returned my fees and confirmed the buyers account had been re-secured. So my option was to relist, however, when relisting I noted the amount of the cancelled listing still counts against my monthly total sales allowance, On contacting Ebay they confirm this is indeed their practice - and told me to apply for a higher allowance - but why should I, Ebay cancelled the listing and zeroed everything but my sales limit. Ebay protect buyers, even the scammers but are completely unsympathetic to cheated sellers - If there going to end a listing and zero the fees then they should do a complete job - its only a matter of telling the software how to do it. The Buy it Now option should not automatically end a sale - it should suspend it with a banner indicating "Under Offer from Buy It Now", The seller should have the option to confirm payment received - via paypal and that action should end the auction, A non payment or for another reason the seller should be able to refuse the BIN offer and restore the auction to where it was prior to the BIN.
Hey presto - 2 days after this review my sales balance has been zeroed - coincidence? Now I wonder if I was told wrongly by the ebay help line or this review has made them see sense. Ebay - Im just waiting for the day when we have a competitor for selling, I do use Amazon for most purchases but im not particularly happy with you - and you are very expensive - the feedback protocols are anti sellers too.
I've bought a couple of items recently that have been lost in transit. The process for alerting ebay and the seller to this fact and the company's approach to sorting out these issues (it wasn't a dispute, just lost items) is efficient and I found the whole experience very easy. Thank you Ebay.
I bought a jacket on eBay a few months ago, but suddenly the seller has deleted himself, after I paid (of course), and I did not recieve the jacket. I contacted eBay to get my money back as they promise you, and they adviced me to contact the seller (which I couldn't do, since he was no longer on eBay) and it is not possible for me to start a case, since the webside keep saying that there is some kind of mistake on the page, when I try. I have mailed them again to get my money, but now they stopped answering me. This is simply an illegal practice - they cannot promise you your money back, and then ignore you, when your purchase doesn't arrive. I will never ever buy anything through eBay again, and will strongly reccommend everyone to stay far away from them, if you do not want to throw your money out of the window.
Ebay will not care about seller why? seller can not leave feedback to their buyer (to help other seller understand the buyers) Buyers can change their mind and if you dispute if buyers win you will not get your listing fees even if the items were not faulty. Fees are higher and I heard now ebay own gumtree so I better shop on AMAZON.. Fees everywhere even if you decide to end the item without a bid earlier
