Hi. I loved this unit.. better than the Roomba 770. It navigates top notch when it's working. The problem is that in day 5 on bare tile ... it had complete failure. When you get that error message, it actually means that the wheel motor has been torn up ... I've read that it's due to a cheaply designed wheel motor. I've read horror stories on Amazon.. people going through up to five of them. It's been going on for over 1.5 years. More than 10% report complete failure. Redesign that portion of the robot, neatorobotics. Assure us that the design has been updated. Yes, they do send out another. Customer service is not horrific.
Have you ever dreamed of having a robot or some sort of magical power allowing you to clean your home in a short time without effort? I had. At first I was very reluctant buying a cleaning robot. My earliest impression of them, was that they was silly machines, whom bumped mindless into every item in my house, and getting stuck all the time. But after reading an article about Neato, I reconsidered, and decided on pursuing this old dream. Here we are today, our latest addition to our gadgets stack is “Roberta”. “she” is a neat little thing, with the generic name Neato XV25. The purchasing criteria was: I wanted a Vacuum Bot, and not a swipe bot. I wanted a machine doing vacuuming the way I would have done it myself. Neato innovative technology offered just that. It’s laser visual creates a virtual map over the rooms, and offers the ability to clean in a systematic and intelligent way. Now a month after the purchase I’m still convinced that it’s the best way to clean your house is the new robotic vacuum cleaner! And I can recommend acquiring such a device. That said, robotic cleaners isn’t designed for excellent results. It keeps the need for normal vacuuming to a minimum, but that’s it. A great addiction to a robotic vacuum cleaner could be if scheduling and mapping was combined with your other IT equipment. This would allow for mapping out the house, and making advanced scheduling for each room.
I bought a Neato xv-15 in august 2011. No problem with buying and delivery. The robot itself is ok, even though it do not clean the last 3-5 cm closest to the wall. Is very noisy and do not know its own height and therefore is stuck beneath things. Build quality is below average with a cheap display and fragile dust bin. But the support is definetly a joke. My neato broke down, the display stating that "left wheel is stuck". I mailed neato and after a couple of days I got a short response asking me to check if the springs underneath where loose. I responded the same day that there where no loose springs. Now 12 days have gone and I have sent serveral e-mails, asking for a solution. NO response at all. I am close to filling out a complaint on www.consumereurope.dk.
These vacuum cleaners are so good, I have at least a dozen friends who want to buy one now just off my recommendation and seeing it in action! I can't imagine not having one. Now if only I could find some way of being a distributor or getting an affiliate deal ;-)
