The recovered discs were sent to us very quickly. Copying to the new hard drive took a little time but no problems encountered. The cost was a little high but if this is the cost and you need the files then you have to pay it.
Had a lot of data on an external hard drive, phoned and explained symptoms and was told it sounded like something simple and cheap to solve, turned out it was the most expensive option that was highly unlikely. I can't fault the service and speed of the work, I got all the data back but it cost a small fortune.

I thought I was being careful by using a memory stick to back up and transfer files at work, but when a colleague accidentally kicked the memory stick and snapped it in half, that was it. At first its frustrating because you just think you will be able to 'stick' files back together with saved information but I quickly began to realise I was unable to complete large amounts of work due to files being stored on the broken memory stick. After searching for anyone who could help rectify the problem, Fields Data Recovery showed up on my internet search and happened to be based within walking distance to my office. I made a quick call to enquire how to proceed and I was told to drop item to their office that afternoon (!) and I would be given a reference number. Someone would then contact me in the next few days to discuss the damage and the cost.
Fields Data Recovery charge the standard fee in this area, most companies are priced similarly. However, I was told that no work would be done without my consent and I would not be charged unless I was happy with the information they could retrieve.
Although it seems expensive and you are chastising yourself for not backing up more effectively (this requires at least three conversations with yourself about being an idiot!) this happens to be the going rate, BUT what you do get is all your files back. Fields Data Recovery took about 2weeks to complete the work, I was told that one of the tech team would be in touch after a few days, unfortunately this didn't happen but they were easy enough to chase and I was always able to speak with someone. When my disc was delivered by courier one of the team followed up to ensure I was satisfied.
Overall, I paid the going rate for a service that delivered what it said it would; the bitter taste in my mouth is with myself- not backing up files effectively will cost you time and money ...be warned!
We had an issue with a 1 TB hard disk taken from a NAS box which had physical problems and we were unable to read any data from the disk. The disk was sent to Field Data recovery services for analysis. They were able to fully recover our data very quickly and were able to place a sample on their WEB portal so we could check the data before a price was agreed. A replacement hard disk was then sent back to us by courier. I would certainly recommend Field Data's services.
When I used Fields Data Recovery they were amazing, really quick to diagnose the hard issue and produce a file system list to confirm the data required still existed. Went to several data retrieval companies and they all said the data was lost forever. But within 48 hours of Fields having our hard drive they reported that all data had been recovered. We were so relieved, thank you Fields Data Recovery.
We used Fields Data Recovery UK on behalf of a client who had some important data on a dead laptop drive. Throughout the recovery process we were kept informed of what was going on. Upon recovery the information was accessible online to give us an idea of the data which had been recovered allowing us to make an informed decision on whether or not to go ahead. My only reservation is the number of calls asking if we wanted to go ahead when we had informed them that we were waiting for the client. Other than that very quick and efficient service would definitely use them again.
I've dropped my macbook in the stairs and surprisingly enough my hard disk did not handle it so well. Even though an apple "genius" told me there was nothing I could do to get back the lost data, I was able to recover most of it thanks to Fields Data Recovery. I won't tell you it's cheap but the price of stupidity (for not backing up my hard disk in the first place) is always expensive. I haven't found cheaper in the market though.
Although my data was retrieved from my USB, the company did not live up to the time scale advertised. I didn't receive my retrieved data until 10 days after the USB had been received by Fields and then that was after contacting Fields by phone. My queries were dealt with by operators who seemed able to access the information I needed about the progress of my data recovery. It is a pricey service - more expensive than my original quote - but I balanced that against the time it would take to redo the lost work on my USB.
Was quoted between £200 and £400, then the price came in at £600 plus VAT!! I was then harassed to make a decision on whether I wanted my information! Been full flu and with a number of other projects pressing I needed more time to consider the price. At this point Steve became pushy and when I told him to back off he hung up on me ( I did swear but not at him!). I called straight back to talk to a manager and spoke to Jason, who after listening to me, offered a reduced price, in line with my original quote. On calling back my intention was just to have my hard drive returned and frankly I wanted nothing more to do with the company but Jason saved the day. In terms of data, all was there that I required, 92%. Cant fault the data retrieval but the customer service and quoting was questionable at first.
I was very impressed with the service of Fields Data Recovery, I now have all my Photo's and video's back again after loosing my operating system and also their after sales service very friendly and professional , all at a very resonable price, thanks again to Fields
Was verbally quoted £50-£100 to get my data back, but when I sent my phone in, I was then quoted £474. I declined and am still waiting to have it returned to me. I have offered to pay the return postage myself, but every time I email on this I get no response and have called several times; each time I'm told someone will call me back but no-one ever has. Really poor service throughout and I'm still without my phone which I sent in nearly three weeks ago.
