Was verbally quoted £50-£100 to get my data back, but when I sent my phone in, I was then quoted £474. I declined and am still waiting to have it returned to me. I have offered to pay the return postage myself, but every time I email on this I get no response and have called several times; each time I'm told someone will call me back but no-one ever has. Really poor service throughout and I'm still without my phone which I sent in nearly three weeks ago.
I reformatted my external hard drive by mistake which contained thousands of photographs. When I realised my mistake and my hard drive appeared to be blank I surfed the net to find anyone that could help. I found Fields Data Recovery and emailed them. I was called the next day. I duly sent my hard drive in and within 2 days had another call saying that files had been retrieved. I paid roughly £500 which did hurt, but within 2 days of payment the discs with all my photographs arrived back to me. Along with my external hard drive. The staff that I spoke to were helpful, sympathetic and efficient. This is a GENUINE review from a very impressed customer who hopes not to use this company again because she has learnt from her very expensive mistake!
Overall I was very pleased with the service that I received from Fields Data Recovery. They responded very quickly to my initial enquire, and kept me informed of the progress to recover my data at every step. All of my data was successfully recovered, although the final cost of recovery was higher then was first estimated. If it had not been for the higher than expected cost I would have given them 5 stars.
For the high cost of what it does a very very poor service. Choose to avoid!
At first it seemed promising. After requesting callback, got an instant reply, securing a date of when and where to bring in my laptop for data recovery and email with job number.
Went down hill after this. The cost of job was very expensive with them forgetting to mention the VAT price and overall cost until I'd given them my debit details. Nevertheless sent laptop off and received data back about a week after the date they said I should receive them. However, no sign of my laptop, which was mentioned several times in the call would be sent back to my home address with the discs. Phoned back a couple of weeks to enquire about this, and person I was speaking to said, and I quote, "I will TRY to get it sent to you" (emphasis on try, not very promising). After about a month of waiting and still no sign of laptop I rang again, they said they'd try and get someone else to talk to me and I should expect a call back later that day. I received no call. And so I am sat here 3 months later writing this review, still without any sign of my laptop. To those who are thinking about this I would strongly recommend you weigh up your options before going with this company. For the price of what it is, the service does not match up and from what I have experienced not very trustworthy. I am very much still in doubt if they will ever send my laptop back to me.
The data recovery process was prompt, handled very professionally and with great communications from the team. I was delighted that everything that I knew to be on the crashed hard disc was recovered, and only a couple of the many thousand files seemed to have any errors. The data was returned to me on DVD-ROM discs and, as the original folder&file structure was intact, restoring the data to their rightful place on a new hard disc was delightfully simple. My only little gripe is that some of the ink used to print onto the DVD label surface had come off onto the data surface of other discs. maybe the ink wasn't given sufficient time to dry? Fortunately the ink was water-based and so I was able to wipe it off. But something to watch out for next time! Overall I'm very impressed and grateful for the rescue of my data.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! They are thieves!! They will take your hard disk and sit on it for a month and tell you false things about your drive so you pay a huge amount. They are rude and don't communicate. They gave my hard disk back without screws and now I can't return it. I asked for the screws back and no one has got back to me. I call them and they just tell me someone will call when no one does.
Hopefully I will not need Fields Data Recovery again as I have learnt the hard way with regards losing my data. However this said I would definitely recommend them. From my initial contact to receipt of recovered data the service was impeccable. Great job!
My external drive failed with almost catastrophic results. Years of work renovating hundreds of scanned family photos and years spent accumulating a music collection, all down the pan – as you can imagine; unexpected and totally unprepared for. I made a enquiries with Fields Data Recovery who contacted me. We arranged to investigate, despatched the drive and within 24 hours I received confirmation that the content was recoverable. Having agreed to the recovery, I received the restored data within 48 hours. I was really pleased with the service, the turnaround time and the secure handling of the data. Although at the time I thought the service was a bit expensive, that is a minor criticism and in the long term, a small price to pay.
This Company appears professional but when it comes down to it they are not. We sent them a drive and after the allocated time we had to contact them where they stated the item needed parts (Samsung 500GB drive £45 at most retailers). Their cost for parts and labour (15 minute job) £395 plus vat. They wanted this upfront despite their claim NO DATA NO FEE. now they do not respond to emails, we have no drive, no Data and £395 down the drain and no VAT Invoice!! We have now had to instigate Legal Proceedings, my suggestion AVOID AT ALL COST> Just shows the type of Company when they asked Trustpilot to remove the same comments below made by my Director on the technicality that it was in my name.
Update 13th February, Fields data Recovery IN HOUSE SOLICITOR (that tells you everything !!) has now filed a Defence arguing that as our hard drive was broken it s WORTHLESS" despite the fact thaey had allegedly just fitted £375 worth of parts!!! also that under their terms 5.8 using their free return service is by Standard Postal Service and this is non traceable! They allege they have returned our drive and yet on the 5th February we had an email from Customer Services asking for the serial number type and any distinguishing marks so that they could find our hard drive!!

From my initial inquiry to the new hard drive arriving back in my office, Fields kept me informed of the status of the recovery and when I could expect what. The company understands the problems that you are facing and understands how to deal with them swiftly - the disruption to our business was minimal given the size of the problem.
I thought I had a bulletproof backup/archive regime but when my 1TB NAS store failed, I realised there were a several Gigabytes of digitised home movies that weren't stored anywhere else (being so bulky). Although they asked a sum on the edge of what I was prepared to pay, I consider it a sharp lesson from the universe in designing a better backup scheme. Their service was fast, professional, friendly, complete and faultless - I thoroughly recommend these guys. But better not to need them!
