My experience of Find a Babysitter has been terrible. I placed an ad for a nanny for one month and had very little response and no-one suitable. I very quickly secured a great nanny from elsewhere and thought no more about Find a Babysitter. Payment taken for the month I placed the advert ... to Find a Babysitter... no problem. What we didn't know was that they would then change the reference name (to make it harder for us to spot) and use our card details to continue to take monthly payments. Even after we raised this issue with them they still tried to take further payments !! I should stress we have never used the site , other that to place the first advert , not logged on once, nothing. On raising this with Find a Babysitter they referred me to clause 6 of the small print which states that if not cancelled they will take ongoing recurring payments. I have responded with two further emails to which they have not even given us the courtesy of a response. Reading the reviews on here seems I am not the only one fallen foul of "FAB"... to my mind they are a disreputable and dishonourable company, taking advantage of busy pressed parents and changing the payment reference on the credit card making it harder to spot is downright deceitful.... clearly have no morals and not to be trusted. I have already raised this company with Trading standards who have said they will investigate.
I found a good childminder, but what isn't apparent is that once you've got what you need from the service, you're still locked into a repeat debit card payment arrangement that keeps on requesting payment month after month, even where there is clearly no activity in your FAB account. 5 payments left my account, despite my having found childcare in the first couple of weeks of subscribing to FAB (back in Sept 2012). How can it be right that despite the fact that I had finished with the service, I was still paying in February 2013? Cancellation is the one thing on this site that is not clear how to do. I provided them with feedback on the childminder so in my view, they were aware that I had got what I needed. Whilst this is a useful service for busy parents, there is a feeling that it appears to exploit that busy aspect of our lives by reliance on parents not seeking out the all elusive cancellation information. Those emails that kept on asking me what I thought of the service, ought to have also said, "we notice that you haven't been using our service, do you still want to continue paying for it!"
I actually queried these payments with my bank who have been investigating, because I did not recognise them (5 months later), and I thought they had been taken fraudulently. I believe that apart from the first month that I actually used, there was no actual service provided for the subsequent 4 payments.
I needed a childminder for my little boy and after going around in circles I placed an advert on findababysitter.com and I had an overwhelming response from crb checked qualified childminders and babysitters. I cannot thank enough to this website. My baby loves his childminder and the minder also looks after my child very well.
This website is highly recommended.
I found this website easy to use. Also the people who replied to my ad were mostly relevant and had the right kind of experience. So, yes, your website did make my search and life a little bit easier.
Very easy to sign up an post a job.
That website is clear and full of extremely useful and necessary information.
Worth the money. Great customer service.
Highly recommend.
The idea of the website is good, but really needs improving -parents and carers should be forced to reply -its really rude most don't - they should receive a reply score like Homelink or eBay.
Also, please stop trying to charge those looking for work £20 a month to join -rip-off and high price if you don't have a job!!!
I like the idea of findababysitter, the site is easy to use and I know a lot of child carers who have signed up to it. I tried to use it once but didn't have any luck with finding anyone. I would probably try it again though. One thing that really upsets me is that I keep getting emails asking me how I like the service etc and as far as I can see there is NO WAY of stopping these emails. There should be an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of such emails, but there isn't. I imagine most busy mums, like me, are keen to cut down on emails so I am very surprised that findababysitter isn't more sensitive to this.
I've really enjoyed using this website. It has enable me to find several jobs. Its safe for workers to put their details and parents can have peace of mind to know the workers are experienced in their work field. Parents also have the great opportunity to decide who they would like to care for thier children and who to let into their home.
I have found a number of jobs through findababysitter.com working for some lovely families. It was ideal when I was a student as it meant I could work around my studies as and when it suited me. I would definitely recommend this website.
As a student, it is great to be able to find work as a babysitter during the holidays when I'm home. I have now worked for 6 or 7 families and it has always been safe and fun. I have met some really lovely people and have also made a bit of money. It's generally a very useful website.
I find the perfect site for my job,if would like to see Findababysitter.com. I recommend.
Remember the day your loved once moved away and you were left stuck alone looking for those who you could care for again?
Thanks to Find a babysitter web I was not alone for too long.
I had to choose a different path to keep myself away from feeling the loss, and went for evening and weekend jobs only. Loooovvvveeee it.
I have a 9 to 5 Mon to Fri office job, which keeps on top of being responsible, organized and trustworthy, and then I have this fun, exciting, ( sometimes crazy), but over all fabulous time with kiddies that I adore so much.
go for it, try it out & good luck :o)

Good resource for both child carers and families. I look forward to finding more jobs through the site - thank you!
Hi,how are you today
I find the perfect site for my job if would like to see "Findabebysitter"
Sign up, search & contact local babysitters with your details, then quit. For me, I just wanted to find local babysitters. I posted the job and got a lot of responses, but most of them didn't really read my job details and so were a waste of time. Instead I used the search feature to find the exact matches and contact them, which was an excellent feature. But after that I should have just cancelled the subscription --- instead I stayed on for another 3 months but didn't get any further benefit from it. I did end up finding a great babysitter, but I don't feel the cost was worth it. I should have cancelled it sooner.
I filled my nanny housekeeper candidate using your service. I had over 25 good responses. Met 3 and spoke to a couple of others. Eventually appointed a great candidate. We have completed a 6 week trial and are now entering into a perm. contract. She is fantastic and it has made a great difference to my life and my 3 small children.
Brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant website! Only used it for 3 weeks and managed to find an excellent nanny for my little one. I came across several extremely good candidates, which is a rare thing to find in similar websites (I have used almost all the childcare websites you can imagine). The emailing system is excellent and you can easily attach documents which comes very handy for CV. As a general theme of the website, almost all the candidates have photos which makes it very easy to remember who is who instead of confusing usernames.
The only small room for improvement is an iPhone app or a mobile website. At the moment you can log in to the full website using your smartphone but obviously it is slow and difficult.
We posted a job and within a few days we had heard from several experienced candidates and had found someone we really like. The process was very smooth and we will use this site again in future.
The site was full of people who matched the profile I wanted in the area I live. Unfortunately for the site, I have found a wonderful baby sitter through the service so am now no longer a member.
Top class service
I joined findababysitter.com for only one month. I did not renew the membership as I did not find many listings in my area. But they went ahead and took the money out of my account anyways at the end of my trial month. When I contacted them they did say that they had a problem with the system and that the money would go back into my account. I waited a long while and did not receive the money. I contacted them again and they gave me a date that the money should have reached my account. Well, it never did reach my account and long story short I never got my money back that they "by mistake" took.
Do not give them your card or bank info. They cannot be trusted.
Have only had an account for 2 days now and already had my profile viewed 17 times already! I have been contacted by one person already! So may have a new job lined up! :) Very easy to use website, very good package deals to make you more likely to get a job but I dont think I will bother after having such a good experience for free! Will definately recommend to friends and family members! Very happy and will continue to use....5 *
I found the site after seeing them on a friends Facebook page, there's a large pool of available nannies in my area (I am in London though) which is good.
I had an issue and contacted the customer support who solved it quickly which is always nice!
Overall good experience, would use again although my kids are getting a bit old now...:)
First, I found the answer rate on Findababysitter.com not very high (certainly compared to Gumtree), with the answers not well targeted to our ad.
Second, the business model of the website relies on locking you into a monthly subscription, even if you only need to look for one nanny for the whole year. The subscription trick is clearly advertised, what is not is how to cancel it. Even withdrawing the ad from the website is not enough to cancel the monthly payment. And as it is not a direct debit, but a new transaction on your debit card every month, there's nothing you can do through your bank short of cancelling your debit card altogether. Altogether, not worth the hassle.
My husband and I love this site. Its so easy to locate and book a babysitter in our area, and our kids have loved the babysitters we've been allocated. This website really gave us hope that no matter what we have planned - we can always rely on findababysitter.com to look after the kids.
It was so much cheaper than using an agency and I found a great after school nanny through this site. She had a background check and parent references. I fully recommend Findababysitter.com
