watch out for this company

We ordered on the 30th April a wall unit £239.30 and a shower head £75.00. the money was taken out on the 2nd may. we got the shower head very nice it was to. But we are Still waiting for the wall unit. we have had 2 /3 delivery date but nothing has arrived. Now we cant get the company either on the phone or via email. we have even sent them a recorded delivery letter that is now on it's way back to us. .because the Royal mail said there was no address to deliver it to. we paid with our debit card big mistake.

I never learn

Well, that's another job done, old glass shower surround out and the new one in. why won't I ever learn, no DIY job is ever easy, the product is very good and well worth the money. The instructions were obviously written by a buffoon, I say written, they consisted of several faded copies of copies of diagrams, the real important details were almost microscopic to see and doubly difficult to understand as a result, so this resulted in several assemblies being built the wrong way up or the wrong way round or the wrong fookin' screws in the wrong fookin' holes etc. So what should have taken but a few hours took me two fookin' days. Anyway can't stop, must leave a scathing review on the firms website, First Bathrooms by the way. Oh, I tried to figure out how to leave a review on their website, even more difficult than building the shower surround!!!

Terrible! same as all before me....

Similar to Jonny below, bought a shower screen (Waterlux) in April and one hinge was broken and after much hassle I managed to get a replacement hinge from them but it was the wrong size. The cock-sure after-sales assistant assured me they would then send the right hinge. Again wrong! Bunch of absolute morons. How can anyone run a business like this?! So now I have a half-fitted bathroom. Any help on where to get another hinge would be appreciated, as I think they've gone bust!

First And never Again

Wish I'd known about the last review before buying from that lot. I have experienced a similar situation. The items which were finally delivered were not as purchased and were quickly returned. Funny they came and collected much quicker than it got delivered. After various phone calls and much fobbing off ( need to speak to the warehouse, need to speak to the accounts manager who is on holiday etc etc. ) still have not had the money returned and it looks like I never will unless I go through my bank as the transaction was done through Visa.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We ordered a shower screen from them in April, we're still unable to shower properly cos they have sent the wrong or damaged parts on three separate occasions! Plus they lied about delivery dates each time costing us as the plumber was booked in to fit the screen! Can't get in touch with any one now via email or phone, rumour has it they've folded! Spineless b**t**ds

A complete scam avoid at all cost.

If they don't deliver you can claim your money back through the bank. However if you cancel your order you lose the rights to claim that refund. BEWARE. Fortunately my bank took the initiative.

Disgraceful trading behaviour

I count myself as one of the lucky ones and I have a lot of sympathy for some of the reviewers here. I ordered a Carron bath about 3 weeks ago. As my bathroom project was about to start I followed up on a regular (daily) basis, 9 calls in total. I got the same response a lot of other people on here have. i.e. the order has just arrived and will be shipped out tomorrow.

However, FB let it slip the name of their supplier Q4 Supplies. So I rang them. They confirmed they had received the order but would not tell me why it had not shipped instead telling me to talk to FB. I assumed it was a payment issue.

I then rang back First Bathrooms. They lied outright and denied Q4 Supplies was the supplier (despite Q4 having my postcode and order details) and told me the bath was coming through another supplier, and this time would not be delivered for another week. At that stage I cancelled the order. I realised at that stage I would be unlikely to get my money back except through my credit card provider.

On the phone to FB and fed up, I had a rant at the sales assistant, telling her her company was a disgrace and she should start looking for a new job since her company was clearly about to go under. I felt bad afterwards but, in hindsight, I hope she listened!

In the meantime, I emailed the manufacturer Carron and explained the whole sorry saga to them. They were brilliant and saved the day. One of the company directors responded directly to me. Within an hour, I had a call from FB apologising for the delays, and a call from Q4 Supplies confirming delivery details. I had the bath within 48 hours. Now reading these further reviews in the subsequent 10 days later I realise how lucky I was. Thanks Carron.

Not sure that is of help to anyone who has already ordered. For the sales support you get, there is still an awful lot to be said for ordering from your local plumbers merchant for bathroom supplies.

as my bathroom should have arrived today i came online and found all these reviews. iIve looked at companyhouse and so far they havnt declared what position they are in but this is where we are going to find out (if were going to find out) ive rang my credit card company -just ring the number on the back of your card. and they have said they need evidence that the company is no longer trading (you will get this from company house when it shows up) in the mean time they can start action for goods not being recieved, when company house do then show that theyre bankrupt or whatever they can change the forms over and try to get the money back!!! as i ordered over the phone therefore have no recipt or proof of what i ordered im not sure what will happen in terms of products having to be over £100 to be able to claim the money back as obviouly taps and waste pipe wernt all over £100 but american express said all they need is proof on money coming out of my account which obviously they have. recommend getting onto your banks ASAP as you need to let them know within so many days of realising the company is no longer trading. hoping we all get our money back :-(

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS COMPANY

HAVE TRIED TO PHONE THIS COMPANY THIS MORNING AND TRIED LEEDS SHOWROOM PHONE NUMBER, BOTH NOT RECOGNISED!!!!. HAVE WE THE PAYING CUSTOMER BEEN TAKEN FOR A RIDE BY THIS COMPANY. BEEN WAITING FOR A REFUND OF £792.93 FOR 30 DAYS NOW, HAVE SENT E.MAIL THIS MORNING, WAITING TO SEE IF GET REPLY,
I THINK THIS COMPANY HAVE GONE BUST OWING ME, A PENSIONER, A LOT OF MONEY, IF THEY HAVE'NT, DONT ORDER FROM THEM AS YOU WILL BE TOLD THIS AND THAT IS OUT OF STOCK AND WILL BE FOBBED OFF WITH, IT WILL BE IN STOCK TOMORROW LIKE I WAS FOR 2 WEEKS SO CANCELLED ORDER 13 MAY, STILL WAITING FOR REFUND WHICH NOW LOOKS AS THOUGH WILL HAVE TO GO TO BANK TO SORT OUT, CRAP COMPANY ALL ROUND. GO TO VICTORIA PLUMB LIKE I DID.

Can not get through to the company

I have been trying to get in contact with FirstBathrooms for the past 2 weeks

I ordered and paid online for a new bathroom suite at the end of May and it should have been delivered within 5 working days and 3 week later still not been supplied

The telephone numbers on the online shop are disconnected and unable to contact them

I am absolutely unhappy about this and need to find out how to contact the company to get my money back

TOTAL SCAMMERS DO NOT BUY FROM FIRSTBATHROOMS

Same old story as everyone else reviewing this terrible company. Ordered a sliding shower door, arrived smashed, very unhelpful customer services, manager practically unobtainable. Cant have replacement or refund as didnt report damage within 7 days, due to being on holiday! BUT can re-order one half price, but it appears they have done a bunk!!!!!!!!!!! Not even worth one star

Vanishing Act!

`They are gone, along with my £700. I tried their website(to see if it is still live) to place another order and you can't complete a payment on there.
They blatantly lied about suppliers not delivering to them, and because the majority of traders are honest, I believed them.
The Leeds branch has gone and local info is that it never seemed to trade and was seldom open.
Fortunately it appears I have partial protection on Barclaycard, although they are acting cagily.

FIRST BATHROOMS THE LAST PLACE YOU WANT TO SHOP BE WARNED!

The lady was very pushy on 28 May to get me to place order which I did £490. She told me delivery would be in 5 days. Well now it is ten, I cannot get them on the phone and I have read the reviews on here. Since being hassled by phone to pay by debit card etc, zilch that is what I have heard from them. We need this stuff now for a house we are renovating and I thought had ordered in plenty of time. Have contacted my bank to try and get debit card payment back.

I hope word gets out this company are disreputable and very disappointing, I normally have a really good online shopping experience, but it seems to me this lady at First Bathrooms was just intent on taking my hard earned cash without any intention of sending me any goods!

Dont use this company

How do you know that they have gone bankrupt? I need to know because my bank want proof before they will go after my money. Any help would be most appreciated.

SCAMMERS!

A week ago I ordered by direct debit online from this wretched company and have suffered all the hassle that others report - no delivery, not able to get through on the phone ( sounds disconnected ), no reply to e-mails etc. Clearly the company is either insolvent, or is a complete scammer. My bank is taking it up and, hopefully, they will refund me. But, meanwhile no basin unit, which will put me two weeks behind with some renovation work. GRRRR!

I THINK I'VE BEEN HAD!!

Like so many others I placed my order with Firstbathrooms in good faith, I only wish I had know about Trustpilot then. Order placed Thurs 30th May money deducted from my debit account 01 June 2013. On the Monday like other I contacted the company and spoke to a chap who gave me the story about the computers, offered to call me back and never did.

I have since called them at different times of the day and either they line was engaged or had to hold on because they were extremely busy. I like others spoke to Companies House and got the same reply, surely they must be getting suspicious.

They have had over £300 of my money and I have nothing to show for it, and from what everyone else has said I don't expect to receive it either.

I have spoken to my bank and they are going to send me a claim form but that is going to take 7 - 10 working days, then depending what information I can give them will determine how quickly they will give me my money back. Could do without all this extra hassle.

If your out there Michael Rodent (Director) sorry Roden, please get in touch.

I have just emailed Watchdog, I suggest everyone else does the same, then we might get somewhere, and stop this happening to others.

waste of time and money

brought a bath, they sent the wrong bath so rearranged for the new one to come, waited and waited until they said they were out of stock so cancelled the order, they came and picked up the wrong bath and i have still had no refund yet 2weeks later, have phoned and emailed and cannot get through.
Now the phone number is not being recognised!!

Order received - Will make good hardcore!

Just received our order and the sinks are in about 30 pieces and smashed up.
Company doesn't answer the phone anymore, must have gone bust like everyone is saying.
They must have done a runner and just left everything which i think is disgusting. Obviously no conscience.

To the director Michael Roden you should be ashamed of yourself.

My pension money in their hands

Like everyone else I ordered on 27th May and tried Monday, Tuesday and yesterday of this week to try and find out when delivery was. Monday I spoke to someone who said the computer system wasdown so they could not track the order - but would phone me back. They have over £3000.00 from me - money which i cannot replace - from my pension payment - and a bathroom half demolished.
The money was taken out on 28th and 29th of May so they must have known they would not be able to deliver. This is fraud.

No Contact with Customer Services

Hi I ordered a toilet from First Bathrooms on the 28th May and was told that I would be called by the carrier on Wednesday 5th June to arrange delivery today the 6th June. I thought I would call First Bathroom on Wednesday just to get some up to date info from them regarding delivery. I spent all day trying to get through on their 8045 561 0033 number and all I got was a constant recorded message telling me that they would get back to me soon and they were experiencing a high level of calls. I started calling again this morning only to fing the same situation. I have called all of the numbers I can find and every one has the same recorded message. I suspect that they are having problems and am worried that they may have ceased trading. I have spoken to the insolvency office and they tell me that as far as they are concerned the company is still trading, however it would be some time maybe months before they would know. Does anybody else have problems with this company ?

Shop local with bathroom showroom

if you are lookin for a bathroom or shower try have a look at local shops that you can talk to real people and not a voice, people who arent after makin quick money but companys offering a service and back up if you should need it. i know i own my own shop and do well doin the above but if something gos wrong will always try and do are best to sort it out. Cheepest isnt always the best because what dos every one do know after a year when the product gos faulty who helps them out.

placed order three weeks ago for £1025 received one e.mail confirmine order and nothing more wont answer phones or e.mails companies house say they are still trading so its probably a last grab at as many other peoples money as possible before they stick two fingers up wish i had read reviews first.

Gone Bankrupt

Company has gone Bankrupt but still taking orders through the website do not order from them.
They have literally just gone under in the last day or so. I know about it through the industry, I cant say anymore im afraid.

!AVOID! At all costs

The last post was 100% correct, they will take your money, they will not deliver the products you have ordered and they will not answer the phone or email!
I am a plumber and have ordered many things from first bathrooms over the past few years, aside from some bad customer service, generally I have had no problems, until now!
I placed an order on the 23/05/13 for £505.76 (ref:92619). It was supposed to arrive within 5 working days. It did not! After checking my account I noticed it still said the order was picking?
I have sent e mails and spent literally hours on hold, only for no one to answer the phone or return my emails!
These items were for a job I'm supposed to start this Monday the 10/06/13, my customer paid me and I have paid first bathrooms for the items!
It seems to me these are tell tail signs of a company that's about to go bankrupt, which has now left me in the horrible situation of trying to explain to my customer what's happened to there money!
Unlike first bathrooms, I do care and I will refund my customer there money!!! Which leaves me £500.00 out of pocket!
SAVE YOURSELVES THE TIME,HASSLE AND MONEY,DO NOT SHOP WITH FIRST BATHROOMS!

AVOID!

First bathrooms will take your money, not deliver a product, not tell you that they won't be delivering a product, then not give you a refund on a product you've cancelled.

Tried to buy a shower enclosure, 2 weeks after their delivery window I ordered from a different company and cancelled theirs. I waited patiently for their ridiculous 30 day window to end, no refund.

That was 9th May, I phoned them on 28th May to be told accounts "weren't in that day" but they would call me back at 9:30 the following day. 2 days later I cannot get an answer on their customer services line.

I have emailed the company to say they have left me with no option but to take them to court. I will also be contacting Trading Standards.

AVOID!!!

On 27/4/13 I bought a vanity unit for £389.99. Payment went through and I tracked the site for the next few days which said it was 'processing' but 'awaiting telephone'. I finally emailed on 4/5/13 to ask for an update. Emailed back the same day to say they had emailed on 30/4/13 to say product was discontinued - an email I did not receive although it may have gone into 'junk folder'. I emailed to ask for refund but heard nothing. Called them on 10/5/13 as I was interested in another item and to chase refund. The customer service person was very pleasant and as helpful as she could be about another product I wanted to buy ( I will NOT be buying this item now so they have lost another £300 sale. However I was told I could not be put through to Accounts and that they 'were within their rights not to refund for 30 days'. As they had taken money for an item that does not exist I disputed this and gave 5 days to be refunded. I AM STILL WAITING. I have reported them to Trading Standards and advise anyone else who has had bad service to do the same. I will also be contacting 'Which?' and my bathroom fitter will be telling future customers to avoid them. Wish I had read the other reviews before dealing with them. NEVER EVER buy from these people.

very poor customer services

I have ordered twice from this place, the first time there was damage to th ebath and half the fittings were missing. they replaced the damaged bath and the missing fittings in a reasonable time frame.
The second order was a nightmare. Firstly the whole order was sent (late, not when they said it would be) to the wrong address (the billing address and not the delivery address) so i had to move a whole suite in my car to the correct address. Then a shower part was missing. I rang up and was told that it would be coming promptly the next day. Nothing arrived and i called up again and was told someone would look into it and call me back, nobody did. I called again the following day and was told the same thing again and again nobody called back. When i called again the same day , they told me it was too late to look into it and they would call me back the following day.
I did recieve a call the following day saying that i shall now be recieving the part in a few days.
So after FIVE phone calls and FIVE days they have managed to sort out a replacement , Lets see what happens.
Also each time you call, you will be on hold waiting for a minimum of 10-15 minutes.
Will not be dealing with these guys again.

You get what you pay for!!

I ordered 2 fitted units for bathroom which included basin and toilet. Bath screen & taps for basin and bath.
Took delivery of units, basin, taps and toilet (plastic cistern was smashed although packaging was undamaged). Bath screen was out of stock but they didn't let me know till I rang them about the broken cistern. 1 week later I got replacement cistern which had different flush fittings than the first and was also chipped on the edge. I then received the bath screen which was fine. However when trying to fix the toilet to the floor we realised that they had sent the wrong fittings, they where for a completely different shaped toilet base so we had to think again!! The units were illustratred on the website as being fitted together but if this is done you can't open the lid for access to the cistern because the basin overlaps too much. After considering various options we' decided to unhinge the lid, leave it loose and fit the units together as we wanted. All this seriously delayed our bathroom renovations, which was annoying since we only have 1 bathroom and it had to remain functional at all times and also my husband had taken a weeks holiday from work to do it which would have been fine but for all the messing about caused by First Bathrooms. Having said that the taps and bathscreen caused no problems and work well. I wouldn't recommend using this company as it is obvious that they don't know if the fittings they send will actually work with the items ordered. Thanks to my husbands DIY skills, we now have a lovely finished bathroom but could have done without the delays and problems. Oh I forgot to mention the soft close toilet seat was way too small, didn't even cover the edges of the pan! its still in its box, we recycled out old one instead!
