Great up until payment processed

I searched the internet before going for Gadgets4Everyone - best price for my iPod and very simple to send off. However, it took 6 working days for the payment to get to my bank rather than the max of 3 days quoted by G4E

Got there in the end :-)

After sending my phone in and expecting £45 I was offered £11.25! I rang them and was told there was a fault with the wifi. I told them this couldn't be true as I fully checked the phone prior to despatch. I then got an email from them stating that after a reset everything was working fine and that I would now get £45 as agreed. The cheque turned up today so I am now a contented customer.

So, if they tell you your phone is bust and you know it isn't I would suggest questioning their statement. Some people probably wouldn't but I did as I am a very experienced IT professional who is completely competent with smartphones etc.

Excellent Service, keep you updated, quick process.

Legit site, great communcation with their customers, they keep you updated every step of the way, even if you choose to be paid by cheque it comes through very quickly. Would recommend to everyone!

Offered the best price, was impressed by their effiency in communications, sending out the freepost bag etc. It did take sligtly longer that I expected to have the money transferred into my account but all in all a very good service.

Such a hassle free way of recycling for cash

This company was so great to recycle an unwanted iPod with, the website was easy to navigate and communication was kept up throughout the process , keeping me informed every step of the way.

The Best Website EVER!

I am so impressed. It took seconds to register my gadget for recycling and a few minutes to prepare my gadget for posting. I had emails galore updating me on the process of receiving and testing my gadget. I was told exactly how much I was going to get and when and it all happened like clockwork. Thank you. Will definitely recommend.

Not happy....feeling scammed

I sent my iPhone 4 in as a result of the quote. It was badly damaged having been dropped on the road and run over. I was chased by email several times after I'd dispatched it, which caused me concern. I work away a lot and I'm not a slave to emails so I was slow in responding. Immediately after I sent an email registering concern that the phone hadn't been received I got a reply telling me it was received and inspected and was worthless.
I've been waiting for my phone back and chased them about it, I have been told that its been recycled free of charge. When I questioned them further they said my phone showed signs of tampering and this reduced the value to zero.

I feel scammed because I know it hadn't been tampered with other than by a car tyre and who actually regulates these inspections and verifies that phones have been recycled ethically and not just stripped for spares and sold on at a profit.

As usual, once you lose sight of your goods, you're not guaranteed to see them again and people are free to exploit the little man.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

After reading your comments above and stating the the phone had been run over by a "car tyre" it is clear that this matches the engineers report to state the it is catastrophically damaged. The phone was so damaged that no parts were usable from the phone, we therefore have valued the phone at zero.

We contacted you on 18th January to advise you that the phone was damaged in such a way that we could not offer a value for it and you would need to contact us for the return of the phone. We received no contact from you until today (20/02/13). I appreciate that you are not a slave to your emails but this is 33 days after we originally sent you the email informing you of the damage.

As per our Terms and Conditions:

"If you do not respond to an amended Trade-In Quote within 48 hours then we will process the Trade-In to initiate payment. At this point the transaction is complete and non-negotiable, and it is not possible to amend the Trade-In Quote nor return Goods."

I'm afraid as it has passed passed this time frame excessively the device has already been recycled of.

Good albeit weird

I had two HTC Desire HDs to sell (part of an upgrade for my parents). When I originally requested a quotation, I found that WeeeBuy (alternative name for the same company) were offering £60 for each handset. I was only able to send one in as there was a problem with one of the upgrade handsets which delayed sending the other one. A few days later when I was ready to send the other one, I went onto WeeeBuy and in the space of a few days, the price of the handset dropped to £45. I rang up their customer services who told me that it was because the handset had dropped in price - strange that it dropped £15 in the space of 4 days!! Anyway, I went onto Gadgets4U (same company again) and requested a quotation only to find that they were now offering £63. This was the same day within a few hours. Never the less I took out the offer and posted the handset. Strange how the prices somehow fluctuate. Although I found the practice a bit weird, the whole process was pretty straight forward so can't complain.

Using a phone recycling comparison site, I found "Gadgets for Everyone" who were offering the best price. I was a little hesitant to start as the price they offered was almost 50% more than others!!! but they sent regular updates of my order, and were very quick in processing and sending the cheque to me. I will use this company again and would recommend to everyone!!!

Really good service

I had an item to trade in and looked around the web for a company that gave good service and good trade in values and found Gadgets4everyone. Once I had the quote from them a sent off my device and had the money directly transferred into my account. They did exactly what they said they would do in the timeframes that they quoted me.

Gadgets4everyone are true to their word.

Wouldn't recommend cash via pay point

Option for cash via pay point as it was faster then banks and checks, sent my phone in 2 days after selling it, had many emails comfirming they got my phone and that my payment has been done, had an email sayin follow these step to print of your voucher, couldn't login With any username password I have gave when setting up the account Email customer service several times they change my password I still couldn't login, Finally rang and spoke to a customer service agent who emailed me the voucher over so I could print it off, Would recommend them but not Via PayPoint as you cannot log back into your account even after the customer service agent have changed your password.

Awful

Really poor communication, and cusutomer care.
They claimed that my phone was faulty, and gave me 24 hours to request that it was sent back.
Their courier lost the parcel, and it never got back to me.

I'm very sorry to hear you are unhappy with the Gadgets4everyone service.

Your iPhone 3g 16GB was found to have cracks to the bottom of the phone, it was also showing signs of tampering with. This was indicated by a broken seal. It was also unable to be tested fully as the device would not activate or read any sim cards inserted. Therefore this was classed as catastrophic damage.

We ask you to advise us how you wish to proceed within 2 working days.

As a gesture of goodwill we returned the phone to you free of charge.
Unfortunately the parcel was lost in transit.

Once this was confirmed we processed payment for the original trade-in value straight away.

Does what it says on the tin . Quick service and kept me informed all through the process . Received full price quoted for my phone.

Absolutely fantastic!

I bought myself a new iPod this time last year, and thought at the time, I should probably sell my old one, which was an iPod Touch 2nd Generation, but I just thought nah.... No-one'll want to buy this one - I'd had it for nearly 4 years, and it had been well used, and the outside was rather scratched.
This past weekend, in the aims of cleaning out, I found it again, and thought yes! I will sell this - typed 'sell my iPod' into Google, and out popped Gadgets4Everyone - I just created an account in about three seconds, typed in the details about my iPod, then printed off the label. I sent off the package on Saturday afternoon, and it arrived Monday, then my cheque arrived on Wednesday!

I had a broken iPod that I didn't quite know what to do with, was thinking of throwing it away but then stumbled across Gadgets4everyone. It was quick and easy to follow the instructions, and the step-by-step text updates were very useful. It reassured me that action was taking place. I got 25 quid for a broken iPod! Excellently handled

i found these through google, from the second I registered the service was very quick. The pack arrived the next day, I sent it off and a few days later the money was in my account.

Did everything they promised

Can't Fault the company, did everything they said they would do. Plenty of communication by text and email. If I'm looking for any negatives, they took a while for payment to come through after they confirmed it (1 week where other firms pay pretty much immediately on confirmation) but that's not too much of an issue as they told me the date I would be paid, and it was in my bank on that day.

so fantastic! could not fault them. offered an amazing price and money was sent through the day they sent my phone. they kept me up to date all the time with texts! even sorted my phone because i forgot to write my product code!

Easier than falling off a log

Very easy website. Slight delay in transferring the funds across. Had to make two phone calls but everything came together in the end. Helpful staff.

Great company, great price for my gadget. Communication was great.
Only con I had is that for some reason the money took a week to go into my account. It didn't go in until I contacted them wondering where it was. They did sort it out within minutes for me though. I'd recommend this company happily and definitely use it again.

Had to chase my payment!

Sent my Nintendo Dsi in for trade in. Had requested bank transfer for speedy payment. After waiting a week and hearing nothing about payment I called them. Was told my payment would be processed that day. Still no sign. Called again the next day. Finally got my money a week and a half later!

Good Service - Highly Recommended.

Good communication with emails to let me know how everything was progressing. When I emailed a question a member of the team emailed straight back. The whole process took 2 weeks from posting my mobile off to receipt of money. I would definitely use Gadgets4everyone again.

Good price paid for device but a little difficulty with postage and communication.

Gadgets4Everyone offered me a really good price so I was happy to give them a shot. I requested a trade-in pack but this never arrived. I received repeated reminders from the company that I only had 14 days to claim the quoted price but could not send the device without the trade-in pack. However, a few emails later, my phone was on its way. I received email and text confirmation when they received it, and at every stage in their grading process. The price paid was as quoted and transfered into my account quickly with no fuss. Other than the trouble with receiving the trade-in pack I would recommend Gadgets4Everyone and definitely use them again!
