Did a comparison.com search for travel insurance and decided this was slightly better than the one that came out top of the list. Maunly because it offered £2k cancellation cover and the others were only £1k. It's horses for courses as they're all pretty much the same. Of course I'm hoping not to have to use it! ;)
For the mature holiday traveller searching web sites for comprehensive travel insurance can be a pain. Question after question especially when you are both over 70!! But with Great Cover just a few basic bits of information and then flash your credit card details. This is the third year we have used them and I'm sure we will be visiting again.

I did make a mistake with the dates once booked however they were very helpful and cancelled the first agreement and raised another refunding the difference. Very pleased with your customer support.
WE HAD TO WAIT MORE THAN 30 MINUTES ON THE PHONE TO TALK WITH SOMEONE TO QUERY AND THEN AGAIN TRYING TO PUCHASE THE POLICY.
THE STAFF ARE NOT KNOWLEDGABLE ENOUGH TO ANSWER CORRECTLY AND THE ANSWER FOR THE SAME QUERY VARIES ACCORDING TO WHOM ONE HAS SPOKEN TO AT THE TIME.
THIS INCLUDES THE MEDICAL SCREENING DEPARTMENT.
WE WONDER WHAT THE SERVICE IS LIKE AFTER THE POLICY IS BOUGHT AND IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION WHEN ONE IS STUCK SOME WHERE OUTSIDE UK?
I chose GC because the cover they offer seems good value. I was happy not to be covered for pre-existing medical conditions as I am perfectly healthy. However, when I read the small print in the certificate it said that I had to tell them about every prescription I have had in the last two years unless it was for one of their list of conditions. I spent about 45 minutes on the phone either waiting to be answered or trying to answer detailed questions about a couple of prescriptions I was given 18months ago to treat a condition that tests showed I didn't actually have. I was then told that I would not be covered for the condition that I had never had unless I paid an extra £9! As I had never had it, I didn't pay the £9, but I resent having had so much of my time wasted and am worried that the company might adopt the same approach to avoid paying claims. More reviews on acceptable claim experiences would be reassuring.
The application process via the internet was very straight forward and uncomplicated.
A review of any other part of my dealings with this company if any, are not likely until after my trip which the insurance covers.

I have only just taken out a multi-trip, world wide (inc USA) policy for partner and I. it was easy to do and although not quite the cheapest it was the cheapest for all that I wanted).

I got my first personal travel insurance - in my OWN name only!!! It was easy & quick to do it online.A no brainer. Just type in all the details & BOM, there was my quote! Very good pricing, but found the contents of the policy to be in very small writing when I printed it out. Would prefer the option to have had the policy posted to me.
Greatcover is quick and convenient way to get insurance cover or even just a quote. Greatcover can be accessed online any time or by phone has extended hours to contact them. any some of the staff are nice an friendly over the phone.
At age 75 I found it difficult to buy holiday insurance at a reasonable cost, but even after declaring my blood pressure medication, 3 weeks in America only cost me £83, other companies were nearer £150.

Easy to apply. Good level of cover. Quite frankly it was daft of me not to obtain annual cover for my wife and I prior to this. One trip cover is ridiculously expensive -especially if you travel fairly regularly. A happy customer.
The company keeps in touch when necessary, answers the phone promptly, and questions equally so. I just hope I never have to avail myself of their services in an emerency, but if I do, then I trust they will be equally efficient.
Hi as you know I'm not computer literate. After filling in the forms online and contacting the health screening I was confidently awaiting a reply via e-mail but not one in sight. Phoned the online number helpline and met a very friendly and supportive member of satff, who advised me to look in my junk mail? She described where it was and how to open it. Followed her instructions and voila! Success, problem is I didn't realise just what can conctitute junk mail! Another step along the highway of technology
Easy to select through options on website. Chose a one-year world travel cover for a 'couple' (wife and self). I've not had to make any claim yet, but had this cover for our first trip, to Ireland, in August 2013.
Very pleasant staff to deal with had to change from a world to Europe police for next year so had to stop the auto renewal. No problems encountered straight forward and simple, would highly recommend the service.
