Scammers

Purchased a deal where I was unable to book a convenient time with the merchant. Groupon customer services were very bad at dealing with this situation, which was not resolved resuting in me loosing money. Will not use again.

Most unprofessional company in the world! keep your money and don't deliver

The worst buying experience of my life is an understatement! Frustrating, difficult, lack of customer service, professionalism and a very very poor approach to customer service. I recently purchased through group on over 3 weeks ago, after the 1st week my order hadn't arrived so I thought i'd drop a polite email in. 3 weeks later and several emails later which sometimes weren't replied to even after 3 days so I had to chase with more emails I finally received an email asking if I would like to cancel my order as they can no longer fulfil the order which they advertised!.
I was happy to do so given it was over 3 weeks ago I placed the order, so I requested to cancel and was offered a refund to my original payment method (by card) or a credit to my group on account by J Ramya the 4th person in customer services i've dealt with.
I made it perfectly clear that I wanted the full refund back to my original payment method. Now, the next day J Ramya replies that he/she refunded it as a credit to my account and I had 12 months to spend it or would lose it. Totally unacceptable this is a further email was sent to J Ramya stating so and my disbelief at the ongoing saga I was having. The reply I received which has clearly been sent by an adviser called J Ramya that couldn't care less was "Unfortunately, once the transaction has taken place to apply Groupon credit to your account, we're not then able to exchange that credit for a full refund. However, Groupon credit lasts for a long time, and we are constantly expanding and diversifying the range of deals that we offer, so I hope you should be able to find something pretty soon on which to spend your credit."

Obviously I have replied and I will fight for my money back, I'm not one for complaining or to grumble unless it's warranted to do so but to purchase something with a company who for 3 weeks don't deliver and give you various excuses, then admit they can't fulfil your order but keep your money and say you cant have it back is beyond belief!!!

Poor return policy still £50 down a month and a half on!

Bought a baby monitor cam set and returned it as soon as i got it using the free post labels and yet still have not got money back phoned the returns line got told takes up to 30 days so the 12 of march i sent it and still no money in the bank think its a disgrace

Oh dear another 1 star

Ordered 2 things last week, the 30 quid item turned up and in good (5 days) time
the second item (doh!) 370 quid hasn't, lying courier company staff, 'hard luck'
attitude of Groupon stafff once you manage to find the telephone number.
Pretty awful
I don't think I'll bother with them again even if my Mattress does turn up

Do not buy anything from them!

I ordered a cube garden set, when delivered it was a 4 piece sofa set! Phoned customer services who advised me they will arrange to collect it in 3 to 5 days, until then I'm £600 out of pocket as they won't refund me until they have the item back and also they cannot deliver the item I paid for anymore. I'm now left with a gigantic parcel in the middle of the living room until they collect it. Customer support is so unprofessional and unsympathetic of the situation, I ordered a cover for the new garden furniture from a different company, which is nogood to me now as i won't be receiving the item, so that's another £40 wasted, Groupon response to this was "we didn't make you buy a cover for it"!

Misleading advertising, product does not match product description.poor quality than advertised

I ordered a dressing table from groupon for £99.00. The product was actually described as solid wood and picture looks beautiful. When I open the box it smell of strong paint fumes, it wasnt even painted evenly, very poor quality. Day light robbery urge people not to use groupon. Not professional, It so complicated to get a refund. Its has been two weeks and still waiting for the courier to pick the parcel and I have been told it takes up to a month a refund.

Not helpful

I ordered from them the good were coming from Groupon Global, I suggest anyone ordering check out which courier they will be using, if it turns out to be Yodel stay well clear.

You will be plaqued with unhelpful staff , waiting in from 8am til 9pm for deliveries that don't show up, complain and they will deliver when they know you are not at home. I have given up with my parcels and entered into a paypal dispute with them now, check other feedback it says it all.

Waste of space

Like other buyers everything seems fine until there's a problem. Trying to phone is a joke. Emailing appears to be answered at night so probably in India somewhere. They seem to think its ok to charge p&p on an item with free delivery. 3 emails to get them to understand basic stuff. It's not rocket science, just refund the postage and send the item. I won't use them again.

Groupon the biggest Rip off company

Business should be made aware, Groupon claims they offer free advertise, shock you end up working for free, ask them how much commission do you have to pay and how long do you have to wait, do not sign anything until you get a clear understanding what you getting yourself in. customers suffer and write bad reviews a no win situation. Use Google plus or G+ instead it is free, Groupon takes 65% commission that is all I have to say.

Awful experience.. Complicated refund procedure. Still awaiting to resolve. Too many steps in chain. Don't touch plant offers!

Ordered 4 acers via groupon from gardening express. Awful experience. Plants did not arrive until 3 chasing 3 times. Plants sd as up to 50cm. I got 4 at under 30cm. They are very poor specimens with poor pruning, wilted growth, black bits and I certainly would not have chosen them if I had seen them. Trying to get money back and whole procedure very complicated. Will never use groupon again . Care line team all sound pleasant and polite but I really pity them.

3 months to resolve an issue

Absolutely Shocking. I am a Groupon customer who regurlarly uses the services, I have never needed to use the customer services until recently purchasing a mattress protector. I ordered 2 back in Dec, First week in Jan I get 1. I was patient and waited fir a week or so however it never came, I email Groupon. ..no answer. I email Groupon....no answer. I call Groupon and get a man who offers to track the item... brilliant finally we get there, but No! 3 weeks later not heard anything? I call Groupon again (we are now mid way through Feb) would you believe what the silly man did? Only tracked the item that had been delivered! Whoops. They never got in touch with me again I had to call to find thìs out by the way. So anyway a few dozen emails later and another month flys by I get told my item was delivered, I argue NO it hasnt so I get a groupon credit for tge exact amount if the missing item. I cant get my money back apparently, so what is the point of the credit? Like I'm going to use you again?? So I am missing my item and out if pocket!!! Asked three times for my case to be passed on to complaints dept, they STILlL haven't done it! Hmm wonder why? Hiding our teams incompetence from management me wonders.

Completely satisfied

Having ordered a King Size Shaker Bed I then checked the reviews.
Became very anxious due to only negative reviews.
I did receive a confirmation email within 24 hrs of ordering. The email contained a tracking number and the name of the company who would be delivering.
I then received a text confirming delivery date. No specific time just between 8am & 6pm.
On the day I was a little concerned when I tried to use the tracking number with no joy. The company web site just gave me a message stating tracking number and post code where not valid.
I contacted Groupon customer service who could tell me by using my name only that yes it would be that day and confirmed the post code.

I am happy to report delivery took place that day.
The bed was built that evening. Very simple assembly with clear instruction and we are happy with the quality of both the bed and mattress .

I bought a table and for chairs, I only got 2 chairs. They offered me £30 to spend again on Groupon instead of the chairs, they told me they were just "unavailable" and couldnt do nothing about it. Later ofer me refund. 15 days later I found out the 2 chairs were forgot to be delivered by XDP express , the most unprofessional delivery company I have dealt with..

To make things short. 15 days after I bought a table and 4 chairs, still unclear of what to do, my 2 chairs are still missing and no action has been taken . And no one in gorupon cares about it. they just dont care about costumer. Avoid this. dont use it.

Both Groupon and Merchant say it's the others responsibility to refund

I bought a car service. I called up to book the service with the garage, who took details of my car and booked me in for Monday. At 3pm on the Friday before, they canceled it as they "Don't do {my brand of car} cars' and refused to refund me, stating Groupon did. I explained I needed it in writing that they wouldn't refund, which they refused.

I called Groupon and spoke to a lady who told me that they would need an email from them stating that I hadn't used the voucher, as they had already redeemed it! I explained that the garage refused to do this and she refused. Eventually, after getting very irate with me she offered to contact a supervisor and came back with the same answer.

I explained very slowly from the start and asked her to explain again to her supervisor that I cannot do what they wanted as the merchant refused. She very irately went away again and eventually coming back to say she would escalate it. The time for this was indeterminable, 10 days, 10 working days and "It never takes that long". At this stage I said I would dispute the transaction with Paypal to be on the safe side. "Well, I'm not escalating it if you do that" the girl said. "So you are refusing to escalate it then?" I asked. "I've already done it" came the reply.

So in 25 minutes we had gone from I can't do anything, to I'm not going to do anything to I've done it.

At this stage I asked for a supervisor. I was told they don't take calls. I asked for a complaints team. There wasn't one. In the end I asked for the person she would pass the call to if someone had a complaint and she told me I was being "very rude". I wouldn't mind if I had sworn or shouted, both of which I really fancied doing but didn't.

Eventually I got a manager who was lovely, apologised, offered to contact the vendor for me and sort it out, so hopefully I will get a refund but sadly it won't make up for the day's wages I lost in booking the car into a garage that "don't do Smart cars".

Suffice to say, I have now deleted the app!

Lengthy time to deal with faulty goods

I purchased a steam generator iron. I was very pleased with it. 3 months later it has failed and no longer works. I contacted Swan who stated they don't cover the 2 year guarantee, Groupon must honour it. I contacted groupon. Their rep Adam told me they could only refund the item. Only after I pack the item, post it back and when it's cleared in the warehouse, only then would my account be refunded. I have 2 teenage daughters who change at least twice a day. I have to go without an iron for all that time! It's as if they don't believe their customers. I'm very frustrated.

4 PIECE GARDEN FURNITURE IN ONE SMALL BOX!!

Thought it was too good to be true. 4 piece rattan furniture for £160.00. Could not believe when it was delivered in one box. How could they fit in a 4 piece suite with glass table in one box? As soon as I opened box broken glass all over my floor and cut finger. Phone Groupon and lady was very nice and apologised and said would get money back with extra £10.00 for inconvenience. Furniture picked up on 8th February. STILL NO MONEY RETURNED and today is 11th March.. Was promised money within 7 days. Also when I phoned to complain, they have no note of promise of £10.00 voucher. NO FURNITURE. NO REFUND. Disaster. HAVE CANCELLED ACCOUNT

Warning worth it

I was wondering why paypal wouldnt do the transaction for me on a driving deal thats so cheap, took long hours to check my settings but nothing, untill I google if groupon is genuine, wow!!!! The advices and experiences just gave me an about turn!!! And thank you all for saving me from using my card!!! Moreso thanks to paypal for that blockage, a security that I will never doubt again!

I booked a massage and facial as a birthday treat for myself and mother via Groupon. I was running 5 mins late on the day so rang ahead to advise them, I was on the phone for 15mins and could not get through. On arrival was asked to show my Groupon voucher, as a Groupon novice I showed the email on my phone which contained details of my purchase. The receptionist had a very bad attitude and was angry that I had not downloaded the voucher in advance. She proceeded to shout at me that she "doesn't know how my phone works so I need to download the voucher". I simply asked her not to be rude, no need to shout and I was not aware of this, as it was the first time I had used Groupon. She continued to shout she was not being rude. I downloaded the voucher and passed the phone back to her so she could scan it and I was then asked to complete a form, I asked her what the form was for and was told it was for marketing and future visits, I said no need to complete it (I thought to myself I wont be coming back). She said if I don't complete it I wont be able to have my treatment, I said please don't speak in a rude manner I wasn't aware it was compulsory to have the treatment I had already paid for. She stood up and shouted that she would "punch me" and stormed off. I was then told by another receptionist I would not be served and to contact Groupon for a refund. I asked to speak to the manager who promptly arranged for me to be seen by a therapist who was excellent. Beware of the rude receptionist staff at Depilex Health and Beauty Clinic.

a little late but a sofa in 3 weeks- pretty good

I ordered a sofa from Groupon even after reading all the poor reviews...so i wasn't expecting much, and had built myself up ready to fight for getting it. small print said it would be shipped after 7 days. Once the 7 days came I emailed as has heard nothing- they said they would investigate. I got an update email every two days, and a phone call to say they had forwarded it to the shipping company and then I would get it delivered the following week (week 3). Got a call the day before delivery informing me of the time- and delivered the next day! one half price sofa..delivered in 3 weeks. Sorted

Ok till something goes wrong, then a Joke.

Sign of a good company is one who deals with you well when things havnt gone to plan. This is definitely not GROUPON, I have ordered things in the past and have had no concerns, item delivered or groupon coupons emailed, However the last time item never got delivered when promised, I have been lied to by there customer service dept or sent completely irrelevant replies to emails.
Hopefully I will get my money back through a paypal dispute? One thing for sure I will not deal with this company again and unless you like the lottery of getting your goods or not and dealing with incompetent customer services dont you either.
Wish Id read these reviews previously.
