I pre ordered a Neostat-e and paid for next day delivery. The date of 7th April was quite clearly shown on my order. So arranged to be at home on the 8th to take delivery.
Checked my order status on 8th to track the delivery and it still showed as pre-order! Phoned them up - they have a backlog and it will only ship today and no we won't refund next day delivery charge. So I quoted their own website:
If for any reason we cannot despatch your order within this timeframe, we will contact you to inform you of the new delivery date.
Still refused to refund next day delivery charge! Order cancelled.
I have installed the unit, the SW interface outside the normal user is not easy, not just like 1wire, but that is something to play with. But as said the first impression is nice, easy installation, good first setup, got it woring in 20 min with installation, and get out the values via web.
I'm Italian and I found and bought the product via internet because no one Italian seller has the product. The purchase experience it was very good, great site, great payment method (Paypal) and great shipping. The product is very very good, it has worked at first shot without any issue, the instructions are good and the look and field are very very pretty. Just one or two consideration that I notice: - the contrast and brightness are good but would be better to have a configuration to adjust them - missing a port configuration for the web access, this does not affect the functionallity of the product, that works very well, but I'm not able to use the web access from internet if I already have one other web site configured on port 80 - would be great if I could have more that 4 temperature per hour configuration per day, it would be great to have a custom preference for each hour per days.
After speaking to the sales team I bought the wireless thermostat and it works brilliantly allowing me full control over my central heating and hot water. As it is wireless you can keep it nearby so you don't have to even get up to change the temperature. I installed the receiver myself and it was straightforward working first time.
Had it in place for 2 weeks now and can't see any downsides.
Wired thermostats that also need a neutral feed are a bit clunky, though easy to understand. Touch screen, wireless and programmable must be the way to go, Easy to install. There is a good range of different models. I am using the two zones in parallel since there is only one zone valve, but a bungalow where the temperature can be warm in the lounge (zone 1) if we light the woodburner - in which case the rest of the house gets the boiler turn on command from the zone 2 thermostat in the hall. The lounge rads of course don't come on if the woodburner is on - because of their local TRV's.
I have bought four WiFi units, a batch of three then an additional unit. All have a 'bug' with the calibrate routine, you have to attempt it several times before it works. I contacted Heatmiser who said I would have to return the units, they would not send out replacements, so I would be without any heating. I did not bother as the calibration is a one off operation and I managed to do it eventually. Other than the above problem, the units work well and were supplied next day as per the web site.
Heatmiser PRT-TS Wi-Fi is excelent product, easy to install when you know which wire where to put. I didn't like that app and web interface doesn't refresh temperature readings. Need to restart the app to find out what's the current temperature.
We had put up with our old central heating and hot water timer for years. It was in a dark spider infested corner of our ground floor. When it went wrong we drew straws to decide who would reset it. That in itself was a tedious task. Now we have our Heatmiser we can access it from our iphones. It works flawlessly and to be honest we should have upgraded years ago, however this level of advancement was probably not available years ago. Great product Heatmiser. We ordered direct from Heatmiser and the unit duly arrived on time and was fitted by an electrician who was not afraid of spiders ;-).
We have used a Heatmiser wireless thermostat for nearly two years and needed a replacement recently due to breakage (from a fall). The website, the information, the order system, the prompt delivery, the personalised email replies, the product itself, the reasonable price and this follow-up service ... all pure quality! There's an abundance of feel-good about dealing with this company!
Needed a new wall mounted thermostat but did not know which model Heatmiser to buy as I could not tell by looking at it!!! Spoke to the Tech Department who showed my how to find out which model I required. Ordered one and it was delivered next day as promised. Wonderful.
