We have used a Heatmiser wireless thermostat for nearly two years and needed a replacement recently due to breakage (from a fall). The website, the information, the order system, the prompt delivery, the personalised email replies, the product itself, the reasonable price and this follow-up service ... all pure quality! There's an abundance of feel-good about dealing with this company!
Needed a new wall mounted thermostat but did not know which model Heatmiser to buy
as I could not tell by looking at it!!! Spoke to the Tech Department who showed my how
to find out which model I required. Ordered one and it was delivered next day as
Ordered a thermostat but on checking invoice, wrong one was being supplied. On telephoning this was corrected but they did not corrent the details on the electronic invoice so had to wait until thermosta arrived to be sure I had the correct one.
Once my electrician worked out how to set up the thermostat - not a simple task as it had multi functions, unlike my previous one - it seemed to work okay. The manual though was not well written
I'm bought a wireless room-thermostat for my central heating system (fuel).
The product is very high-end, touch-screen, easy to use, works perfectly.
It comes with all documentation you need (installation, manual) and accessories to get it installed.
The service is quite good, delivery is fast.
Great service, on time delivery and an effective product that really controls heat.
I ordered a remote wireless thermostat from the heat miser website. The products were clearly shown and described and it was really easy to pick the one I needed. Payment was simple and the goods were delivered really quickly. I have just installed the thermostat as a replacement for a fixed unit and it took me fifteen minutes from start to fully working. I like the accuracy of the thermostat - it reads to 0.1 of a degree, and the clear displays both at the fixed site (a set of LEDs show that the unit is powered, and has demand) and the remote thermostat are really good. The main reason for buying this unit was that the fixed thermostat warmed the hall, but the dining room and living room were cold. We can now warm these rooms as we like.
The product looks great and operates well, but was overly hard to setup requiring a lot of settings in your home router . This was far more complicated than any other device I currently have linked over Wifi . The manual was also difficult to follow.
I really like the product great quality. Im not the best at computers but I have managed to set up the thermostat but setting up the app with the router has been a nightmare. I researched for hours. the instructions tell you how to do it but all I want is a video to show me how to do where there is none!
Installing the system was easy, as I already had a 4 wire system to my existing thermostat. Setting up the system on laptop, Android phone and iPad was easy too. However, the instructions in PDF format from web site seemed to be different and better than those included in box.
It is a very good product; however there are several things I would suggest need improvement, some more strongly than others:
1. I can’t believe (as a control systems software engineer), that you don’t provide temperature changes to one decimal place, the nearest half degree as a minimum… (I develop control systems for Temperature, Pressure, Flow, speed, level, humidity etc., for industry which have more accuracy/adjustment than the Heatmiser system).
2. More flexibility in setting On/Off times. 4 times 7 days a week is not as flexible as the one this product has replaced.
3. I noticed other user’s reviews mention a Boost button would be useful. I understood immediately that the Temperature Hold facility does this, but you may want to explain this better in your marketing material. I nearly bought one of your competitor’s products before noticing this in the PDF previously mentioned.
4. The only other issue, which may be a fault, is that when using the screen, if I press the arrows etc. in succession to fast, the screen locks up until the light goes off. It then returns to main screen and works fine.
Be careful about where you site your thermostat. Mine was placed only 50 feet from the receiver with only one wall in between which contained nothing metallic. The signal was only received intermittently and I was obliged to pay a further £77.00 plus fitting costs for a repeater unit plus the hassle of trying to find out what was wrong in the first place.
On the plus side the technical help staff were very helpful and now that the thermostat signal is being received correctly I am relatively happy.
It's smart, good looking and intelligent. Replaced a standard controller & programmer with a Heatmiser PRTHW-TS WIFI Programmable thermostat. Setup is easy and with the app gives you complete control. Customer service and technical support first class.
Ordered a replacement Heatmiser PRT-B programmable thermostat via the online facility late one afternoon. The client then decided to cancel the order the next morning. Got in touch with customer services who swiftly cancelled the order before the despatch had taken place and refunded the money via the credit card.
Great service. Will trade direct with this firm for future orders.
the symbols on the keys could do with being more clear, instead of just being indented could do with being coloured.
I ordered a wireless thermostat online and it arrived two days later, very well packaged. Unfortunately there was a small fault and I had to return part of the unit. The returns service was second to none. Speaking to Karen in the returns department was a joy compared to other companies and from posting the faulty part back to them on a Friday I received the replacement on the following Tuesday including a reimbursement of my postage. Simply great service all round, I'll use them again.
Heatmiser PRT HW Wifi. A great product severly let down by a poor user guide. I am a pretty tech savvy person. I appreciate the difficulty Heatmiser have writing guides for different routers as they themselves are different, but the guidance you get is poor. You are forced to scour the internet looking for guides that other users have made in simple plain english. Thank god that someone had created a video guide on youtube. Apparently you can pay for a setup service. Imagine if Apple or other tech companies did that. Bit of a cheek seeing i forked out £191 for the thing. Needless to say I am up and running with no thanks to Heatmiser though.
Setting this device up is somewhat complicated.however they will do it for you if you ring their technical help desk, they should make this more clear.i did not find brochures very helpful.
however now it is up and running i am very pleased
When I needed new thermestats following a lightening strike I spoke to the customer service team who were most helpful with advice and offered new back plates to help reduce the cost however I had two that needed replacing completely latter on. I looked on the website which is very user friendly ordered and paid for the replacements which arrived two days latter so we are all warm again now. Great service well done heatmiser.
I found the sales team helpful and efficient in their dealings with me.
The product was delivered to time and packed properly.
I would say that some of the installation and operating instructions were not detailed enough. Also the operating speed guidance could be better and perhaps based on floor area of the property. Regarding the heater there does not seem to be a way of testing whether it works or not ( you appear to have to wait until the temperature drops and wait and see). Not very satisfactory.
On the whole though all pretty good.
Replaced non-smart thermostat (heated floor) and integrated to smart home environment (Z-wave Vera3 controller with plugin to manage heatmiser devices)
We emailed a couple of times to ask about the system that would suit us best and got prompt and clear responses. Once ordered, the parcel arrrived quickly and the product was exactly as expected. Very satisfied customers!
After replacing my main heating system controller last year with a Heatmiser touch wireless unit, I can now change settings without finding a torch and diving into the airing cupboard. The new unit is attractive and has been flawless. Only niggle... I cannot work out a way of having the hot water ON between 23:30 and 00:00. The timer 'day' runs from midnight to midnight, and there has to be at least one OFF time. As the timer resolution is only 30mins, the latest available OFF time is 23:30. Honeywell timers run until 03:00 which is better.
Anyway, the reason for posting this... I was impressed enough with the touch unit to buy a second 'slimline' one for our bathroom underfloor heating when the old Aube controller stopped working last week. The slimline models are trickier to operate than the touch models, but the configuration options are great and it has a large temperature display and a lock facility to prevent accidental operation.
Highly recommended. If I were starting from scratch I would definitely consider one of their multi-zone systems.
Fantastic Product, I never use the control on the wall anymore as all the control is in my hands, the most useful part I find is being able to change the settings when I am not in the house and being able to save on those expensive gas bills.
I have called heatmiser for advise before buying and during setup and they have answered my questions everytime, friendly and great service.
