DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY OR THEIR ASSOCIATED COMPANY GARDENERS WORLD AS THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD AND NOT SEND YOU ANY GOODS. THE TELEPHONE NUMBER THAT OFFERS 24 HOURS SALES SUPPORT HAS BEEN TURNED OFF AND THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO E MAILS. THEY ARE JUST OUT AND OUT CRIMINALS. HAD TO RESORT TO GETTING MY BANK TO DO A CHARGEBACK AS THEY WOULDN'T DELIVER GOODS OR REFUND PAYMENT
I made a purchase from Hip-Furniture on the 21st November 2013 for £310. Once I found out that they could not deliver the goods purchased within the time frame they had indicated, I requested a full refund. This was done on the 5th December .I received a confirmation of the refund on the 20th of December.However, the money never came through!!. I contacted my bank to make a complaint, however, I was told that the bank require confirmation from Hip furniture that the refund being processed was to credit my account, in other words, the refund confirmation needs to show the credit card details. Hip furniture have not responded to any correspondence that I have sent them so I doubt they will respond to my bank! Taking them to the small claims court would likely cost me the same amount as what they defrauded me. So they keep flying under the radar!!
A lot of people have fallen to victims of this criminal organisation - a group of companies under the name of hip-furniture. I have received quite a few emails from people affected, as well as phone calls detailing their perils, & postings onto this site. Some have gone to the police, BBC watchdog, the trading standards, their banks, action fraud - but not too surprisingly nothing much has happened. The criminals behind hip furniture enjoy & continue their activities with all the powers to be turning a blind eye. It seems that UK has turned nothing worse than those corrupt nations that we all know & hear about in the news - with poor laws & poor implementation of the rules. It's quite sad to see that many people have yet to receive their hard earned money lost where-as hip's gang continue stealing through their website. I would like a petition moved on this - so am encouraging all those affected to email me on firstname.lastname@example.org with a summary of the event/how they've fallen victim, & I shall take it to the highest authority in the country to create enough noise to shake the nation! Where's Trading Standards when you need them - this company needs removing from the internet so no one can place any further orders with them as they are clearly not honouring them but pocketing the cash. I am in dispute with them via Barclaycard for £295 where they took my money when the goods were discontinued and have not refunded after multiple attempts/ methods of engagement. Does anyone know the owner's details to bombard him with complaints?

I bought two items of furniture, then cancelled my order. Unfortunately, on this occasion i didn't pay by credit, instead by debit. Having cancelled the order they assured a refund. I assumed it would be refunded immediately as always, however, 2 months later noticed that they had not debited my account. I contacted customer service who said they had processed the refund again and would take up to 72 hours. Still no refund 7 days later. Contacted customer service again on two consecutive days and still waiting for a reply. What i can i say, they have my money and wont give it back. I assume this is stealing?
Ordered a dining set in mid november 2013. Due to hip having difficulties with their courier for several weeks we decided to cancel order on 6th December. To this date despite written promises we are yet to receive our refund. The company is part of Huan Group which is headed by Steven Moffat. Huan Group disolved on 20th December so anyone in a similar position to me would be advised to take legal action directly against Moffat. Hip are still trading. Avoid at all costs.
Below average customer service but did receive the items ordered.
Without boring all with detail, Hip Furniture were slow in paying their supplier who was delivering the chairs directly to me. After a worrying couple of days during which my emails were not returned, they did pay and the chairs are fine.
I too, as have others, tried calling the 0131 number provided and was assured someone would telephone me but no-one did.
If you do use this company, I would advise paying via credit card.
I am one of those who wished they had read this site first...I always do my homework. ..but due to my mother being diagnosed with cancer...I order a folding butterfly table set from them for her...so we could have a proper sit down family meal at Christmas...and have been fobbed off since...the gardeners world number which I got from a comment below did work..until today...the huan company who is behind all the little companies. ..should be disgusted in there theft of money from us all...and the misreprisentation to customers...they seem to be out to just steal what they can..and have no conscience. ..should not be allowed too trade
Having read review below, I wished I'd visiting Trust Pilot website before placing our order. We ordered a month ago and spent £780. Like the reviews below, was fobbed off with excuse after excuse. Sent email which was not acknowledged. Today horrified to telephone and find number unobtainable. Have read with interest the review below about contacting Watchdog and the like and shall definitely be doing so. This was furniture for newly decorated and carpeted bedroom. Can't order anything else until we're placed back in funds from this bunch of idiots at HIP-FURNITURE or by my credit card company which is obviously going to take time. The telephone number for this company has been disconnected or discontinued according to the BT message. They don't respond to emails. Is the company still trading? We are still waiting for an order placed on 13/11/13. The money was taken immediately. Have set a dispute in train with the credit card company. Try 0131 225 7830 They will answer as Gardeners World but it is the smae receptionist for about 20 companies including Hip Furniture all operating frm the same address, The receptionist can put you through to Hip Furniture. Ordered lamp, no lamp arrived after three weeks. Lots of ignored emails and promises of call-back. After two months they agreed to a refund which never materialised. I made a complaint to my credit card company who were none too helpful until I started quoting the Consumer Credit Act. I've learnt a lot about consumer law though. At one point the guy I spoke to said "we only call you when we have something to tell you". When I suggested a reply to acknowledge receipt of a complaint I was stone-walled. Appalling customer service. Ten years of online shopping - never have I met such s#%t service. Went to BHS and was treated properly by professional staff.
They will take your money, tell you the product is out of stock, then fail to deliver a refund despite numerous calls and emails. Tomorrow I'm starting a dispute for the transaction with my bank, and have let a couple of consumer watchdogs know given the huge amount of reviews online saying the same things.
7-14 days delivery, I don't think so!!! I only ordered a nest of tables, payment was taken at time of order and at 14 days I contacted the company. The communication and service is shocking. I wish I had seen these reviews before I used them but to be honest, I live in Edinburgh where the company is based so not quite sure how it was so difficult to get my goods to me or at the very least communicate and respond to emails. I could never get through on the the phone either. I started a dispute resolution with my credit card company and low and behold the goods arrived, still no response to my emails though. I did feel like not accepting the order (which comes from a company down south, go figure!!!) but by this point I just wanted my furniture!!!! I had taken everything else to charity months before! Tables (on sale), I must say, are beautiful but wherever you live it would be easier to collect yourself!
We saw a nice corner unit from hip, so we ordered it! When it was delivered, 5 weeks later it was damaged, so we waited 2 weeks for it to be collected. Then after another 4 weeks another one came, also damaged! We sent it straight back with the courier Furdeco and asked hip for a refund! After a hundred phone calls and many emails later, we still had no refund. Hip customer service is very poor, [name] and [name] are the people we spoke to and to be honest they just kept fobbing us off with every phone call we made! We eventually found out through our bank that they could get the refund for us, so we went through them to get our money back and had to fill in lots of forms and provide proof of our problems with Hip. Also the product description of our corner unit was wrong, and has still not been changed on there website! Never ever buy from this company!!!!!
They made my life a misery trying to get a refund from this company who after taking my money for an item, they told me it was out of stock. This is a very underhand sneaky tactic. When I called them they gave me a different company name, so I think they trade under different companies.
I ordered a black leather sofa bed and it came on time and in one peice. It represented good value for money and we are very happy with it, as it looks good and feels solid. I will definitely consider using the company again. Especially above the likes of Argos who seem to be a walking disaster area as far as furniture is concerned!!!
I ordered from this company via a recommendation from a friend - I so wish I hadn't listened!
I ordered a table and chair set, £222, my order was processed and I was told to expect delivery in 7-14 days. All good so far! Then 3 weeks later I chased it up, I was then told it would cost an extra £150 for delivery, at which point I cancelled my order. As many people here have stated I was told 7-10 days for a refund to be processed - which in my opinion is way too long but I gave them the benefit of doubt. It is now 14 days later, many many emails, far too many phone calls later and I have no refund.

I will be getting my credit card company involved tomorrow as I sense this is the only chance I have of getting my money back.
