This company is a sham I would not trust your hard earns money with them they fob you off with every excuse under the sun. I ordered a table and chair set which guess what was out of stock I then was notified by e-mail and had to write an email back to cancel order. I then was e-mailed back refund 7 to 10 days which did not happen the excuses are sage or pending cannot get money needed to speak to accounts bah bah bah they are liers and I won't be seeing my money I will have to go through the bank and hopefully get it back but I warn anyone don't do what I did please.
I ordered a Bellagio stone dining table last Thursday and it arrived in less than the time stated on the website. I spoke to someone at Hip Furniture (sorry I forget your name!) on the day that I placed the order to enquire about the delivery as I thought a stone dining table would be tricky to move by myself. They arranged to have the couriers deliver directly into my dining room, so no heavy lifting for me! Great customer service and love the table!

I recommend that you PASS THIS COMPANY BY they are out to get your money and the 'customer service' is just the same idiot on the main phone number. He also pretends to be 'another colleague' at times. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!
I ordered a table and chairs set a few weeks ago, only to be told the next day the item wasn't in stock. A full refund was promised, and yet it has never been delivered to my account. All emails have been ignored.
I am giving them 48 hours before pursuing legal action, and of course am unable to recommend this company to anybody.
Placed an order and made a payment on 16/02/2013 for an item which is in stock online. Then rang up to chase the order but was told it is NOT in stock and checked online and still saying IN stock. Ok.....asked for a refund but was suggested that we can get another of the same which was £30 more...already paying £59 we decided to go ahead and make the purchase. Again that was paid for on 25/02/2013. Chased the order and WOW was told not in stock!!! again said IN stock online.
Right we decided that a refund is what we need now. Was told it should take 7-10 days!!!
Still waiting and again rang them again chasing the refund but was told the SAGE payment is not working!!! Funny how a company cannot refund £89 for products they do not have.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY - Ordered a chest of drawers and within less than 12 hours was informed item could not be supplied, completely unsuitable alternatives suggested (bedside tables). Cancelled order in less 24 hours. Advised that order had been cancelled and a refund would be issued and should be received within 7-10 working days. Over one month later despite letter of complaint and chasing several times refund still not received and/or confirmation that the refund payment has been success fully made. Find it completely unacceptable that any payment was taken for an item the company is unable to supply and that despite chasing, refund payment is still outstanding. Very poor.
Bought a bookcase from them for £30 cheaper than the next cheapest competitor. Seeing some of the bad reviews I was a bit nervous about buying through them, but decided at the price it was worth a go. And I'm so glad I gave them a chance! Can't believe I nearly paid 25% more for the item elsewhere! Delivery was estimated between 7-10 days. Within a couple of days of purchasing I had a call to arrange delivery for the 8th day, so within the estimated time. I was told it would arrive between 4-7pm which was very helpful, meant I could still have most of the day to myself. It arrived at 4:30, fantastic! The box to be fair looked like it had been in transit, some of the plastic ties had cut into the cardboard a little, but it didn't harm the contents at all, and to be honest it weighed a ton so I totally understand! Must've been hard for the courier to carry, he was breathless when it was delivered bless him! But the contents were perfect, exactly what I ordered, everything and all instructions included.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy through them again, and I'd recommend them to everyone!

Ordered a wardrobe and then a chest of drawers later, asked for them to be delivered together and they were. Excellent delivery men came on time, wiped their feet and put down a cloth as snowing, carried furniture upstairs. I would certainly use HIP again.

I ordered a wardrobe for my flat, after paying I was told that they didn't have it in stock anymore (note this wasn't mentioned at the point of sale) but they would have it in a 6 weeks so I could wait or get another version which was more expensive.
I asked for a refund - they said they would but it takes 7-10 days....strange when it's a simple bacs payment.
Still haven't received the refund despit it being 3 weeks later and having sent them emails.
Terrible customer service
We wanted to order three pieces of furniture and I phoned for advice on whether they matched etc - customer service was brilliant and so attentive. A few phones calls from them and I was more than happy to proceed with the order which was delivery very prompty and now we are so pleased with our new look lounge.
Found Jual Curved Hi-Fi unit here £40 less than anywhere else (£158 including delivery). This was £199 everywhere else I looked plus they charged for delivery on top. The delivery wad by DPD with 1 hour timed-delivery slot confirmed by e-mail which was excellent. Very pleased with the unit and service.
Bought a sofabed back in February, within wks part of the seat sank. I've spent about 8 months and roughly £80 in phone calls trying to get it sorted, they always promise to call you back but never do. Watch out for the 'its being delt with by their warehouse' comment, I think this is their catchphrase! The last I heard was its now Discontinued. They have told me a courier will come to take it, and I will be receiving a phone call to organise. That was 3 wks ago, still nothing! PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY, they are happy to take your money but obviously have little respect for their customers! I bought 2 of these sofas for the same room, I need another one now which will now look different to the other. If this was sorted properly in the 1st place I wouldn't have this problem! Calling trading standards tomorrow, let them deal with it!
I ordered this bed as it said delivery would be in 5-7 days, but it ended up taking 3 weeks. I'd been let down by a previous company so kept asking for confirmation that the bed actually existed and had been dispatched. All I got was 'the courier will contact you'. 2 weeks later I had to end up calling the courier myself - and they said they'd only just recieved the bed...
The bed is great though - just don't expect it to be delivered quickly.
The first time I ordered form Hip Furniture I was very impressed with the customer service and with the speed and quality of the products I ordered. However, I have just ordered for a second time and am no longer so impressed.
I ordered a 3 drawer and a 4 drawer chest of drawers. Both products arrived damaged and had obviously been dropped or had something dropped onto them.
Hip were excellent with their customer service and replaced the faulty bits even though it was sometime since I had received them that I unpackaged and found the fault.
Once assembled though the drawers were of poor quality. The runners on the smaller one were too big and meant that one of the drawers did not open properly.
The larger chest of drawers had dents on it. The drawers didn't fit together properly. Not at all happy with the finished furniture I'm afraid.
Was really pleased with the service i got from this company, I ordered this for my kids to be here in time for christmas, the toybox i thought was excellent value especially it being all wood, none of this half MDF that you end up paying more money for from a lot of companies, thank you Hip Furniture for a lovely traditional toybox, 10 out of 10.

THEY DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE BOX, BUT QUICKER.I HAVE ORDERED LOADS OF THINGS RECENTLY FROM DIFFERENT COMPANYS, AND THIS PURCHASE HAS BEEN THE BEST SO FAR. I'VE RECENTLY BOUGHT FROM DWELL, WHO SENT TATTY, OBVIOUSLY DISPLAY ITEMS, THAT I PAID A FORTUNE FOR. THESE LOT BEAT THEM HANDS DOWN. BUY A CORBUSIER FROM THEM, AND YOU CAN FALL IN LOVE TOO.

I researched getting a new bed for my son and had looked at several companies but this one promised 1-2 days delivery so i went with them.
After placing the order i assumed i would Then hear when it would be delivered. No word so i made my first of many calls and was told it would be that day. I was sent a tracking number after i rang again to find out what time. I rang the courier company who said it wasn't even in the warehouse so wouldn't be deilvered that day. I then rang back the next day to be told would be delivered later. No word all day from delivery company about a time (even though it states in the e mails that you will get a call about time of delivery) until a scruffy look bloke turned up with a damaged box. He didn't even help me take boxes into my room. I put on delivery note unchecked and boxes damaged before he went off. Not surprisingly part of my bed was damaged so i rang straight away and was told to e mail photos for evidence! Then heard nothing again until i rang back again the next day at 11.30 to be told photos had only just been sent over. Waited yet another day and have just rang again to be told still no news and no date for my bed. . I asked to speak to the manager but he was not in the office. Surprise surprise. I asked for him to ring me and was told I would have to send an e mail to request a call from the manager. This company just never contacts you either. I have made countless, frustrating calls to them and e mails which have been ignored. Not once have they rang me to tell me what is going on. I have had to chase them every day.The company is a joke and I now have to tell my son he has no bed to sleep on again tonight. I will NEVER be using this company again and wished i never had. They are A DISGRACE!! AVOID
I bought a 'rubberwood' (I know) table and chairs from this company for £175, which I put together myself (I know) in less than an hour, and which looks absolutely lovely in my brand new kitchen (so blooming expensive, which is why I bought a cheap table and chairs).
The delivery took a little longer than I expected, but it arrived securely packaged in pristine condition.
Can't fault them at all and will definitely buy from them again.

I needed some bedroom furniture in a hurry and found what I was looking for on the Hip furniture website, as I needed this furniture quickly I called them and asked if their quoted 5 to 14 day delivery was correct and they assured me it was. So I ordered the items from HIP furniture. THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I HAVE EVER MADE.
Over the following month I was given several delivery dates from HIP furniture and after been let down each time I was given an implausible explanation, I’ve heard everything from “the order went to the wrong warehouse”, “the delivery wagon has broken down”, “The goods were not up to standard so we couldn’t deliver them”.
After a month of waiting for goods that HIP furniture should have delivered in around 5 days from order, and still no sign of them I cancelled and sourced them elsewhere.
HIP furniture have charged me 297pounds to cancel the order even though they did not deliver the items and told me repeated tall stories. I am now left having to take them to county court to recover my money.
IF YOU DEAL WITH HIP furniture YOU WILL REGRET IT, I wish I’d have done some simple research and read all the reviews of people who have had bad experiences with them in the past.
As a side note I ordered the same items from an international web based company (best known for selling books) and received the items within 3 days and at a slightly lower price.
If you don’t want to finish up 100s of pounds out of pocket then do not have any dealings with HIP furniture.
I ordered two Hereford Oak Dressers on 27/08/12 and asked for furniture to be delivered after week commencing 10/09/12. Received e-mail from the team on the 13/09/12 advising delivery company would contact me. Was telephoned on 13/09/12 by the delivery company to say that furniture would be delivered on 20/09/12 between 8:00 and 11:00. Furniture arrived on 20/09/12 at 8.30 approx. The furniture was packed impressively well to ensure no damage occurred during transportation and both items were fine when unpacked. I am extremely pleased with the service I received from this company, the furniture is extremely well made and fits in very well with our oak units in our kitchen. I would definitely order again from this company.

Hi all, If I were you I would NOT buy anything from this company, I have purchased a sofa,(on 2 sept 2012!) money all paid, with the delivery date 5 days after! NO! funnily enough still waiting! When I checked the website I noticed an OUT OF STOCK until 17 sept- notice, next to the item I had bought days earlier, I contacted the" TEAM?!" who were totally demotivated, but assured me that there is a cross over between the warehouse and the website so information isn't yet updated, he also said that I would definitely receive it by the 20th sept.
On the 20th sept; I checked the website, still read out of stock till the 17 sept?! I phoned them to check when it was due back in stock, answer = 10 OCT?! After reading these reviews I wish I had never given them my trust and indeed my money. Apparently if you want a refund you have to send them an email to confirm this! has anyone really had to do this before I am An interior Designer and I have never heard of anything like it. This company are BAD, I have not travelled down this refund route yet but I know I will face another slippery service! My next phone call is to TRADING STANDARDS who I'm sure will be very interested in this company.

Under the Distance Selling Regulations Act 2000, the company have 30 days to deliver from original date quoted. Failure to do this is breach of contract, and any customer is then entitled to a full refund. A hand written letter sent via recorded delivery requesting refund is acceptable ( as an e-mail sent as requested by a Hip team member, can be lost.) A deadline of 10-14 days in the letter should be stated, if after then there is still no sign of any refund, It is passed over to trading standards.

Ordered a bed beginning of June. I am still waiting and it is nearly August! Despite numerous phone calls from me to them about when it would be delivered I was finally told yesterday but no bed was delivered. Lots of "I'll just contact the warehouse", "I'll call you back" - excuses. Now no-one is answering the phone or answering emails. At my wits end!
Ordered a Charles Oak Veneer 4 Door Wardrobe with the promise of a 2 day delivery, not the cheapest on the web I found but needed a wardrobe quickly. Placed my order on Friday the 29th June, the following Wednesday rang to find out where my wardrobe was. Informed it was out for delivery and given contact details for the delivery company which I then had to contact, was told by them it would be delivered Friday 6th July so accordingly took the day off work. However at about midday the delivery company rang to say they were not delivering as it was a two man delivery and was on a one man vehichle.
Therefor I contacted HIP on the 6th July who said they would send the wardrobe with another courier but this one would take a week and the courier would contact me to arrange delivery.
A week later still nothing, again contacted HIP who told me they had not had the wardrobe back from the first delivery service and had not been checked through their warehouse and until this had been done it would not be sent for delivery.
The following week spoke to HIP Customer Support again on the 19th July only to be told my wardrobe had still not been checked in their warehouse so was not even assigned for delivery. The Customer support assistant said he would re place the order and confirm this to me by e mail which he did in fairness to him. However I also informed him that on the 23rd July I would check to see if the wardrobe had been issued for deliver and if not I would be cancelling. Unsurprisingly after calling today the wardrobe still had not been issued for delivery. I told them I would be cancelling and sent an email confirming this I dread to think how long it will take me to get a refund if a 2 day delivery would take well over 4 weeks! If I have not received this within 5 working days I will definitely be going to trading standards to complain.
where to start...I Odered my product (an Otterman/Blanket box) on 15th May because I phoned up to make sure they could deliver in 5 days which they promised they could; more expensive than another site but the 5 day delivery sung it for me; so day off worked booked for the 18th when they said it would arrive and suprise suprise no box - on calling after about a week i finally got an answer - my otterman had been delivered to someone else - but no problem they would order me another and get it to me in a couple of days - finally on the 31st May a box arrived (unfortunately i couldn't be there for work commitments) and it was so battered it was going back - call to HIP...they demanded photographic evidence of the box!! i'd been waiting for 3 weeks...why would i want to send it back if it was in good condition???? stupidly again i asked ofr another on to be sent to me - this was acknkowledged by HIP on the phone on the 1st June but no e-mail comfirmation to the 6th - it was due to arrive last friday - numerous phone calls for the last two weeks has lead to them having no idea where my product is (something about a different courier and being lost between the two of them) but still no replacement box - on Friday (15th June) they couldn't even be bothered to answer their calls - just a overspill line to a receptionist who knew nothing) - i posted something on their facebook wall about their poor customer service and a summery of what I wrote here and they had taken down my post!! i can't even find their facebook page at all now!!
Ordered my dining table from hip furniture 6 weeks ago...after saving for it for a long time...the table was after payment not in stock and i had to wait..then saw the dining set somewhere else chaeper and i cancelled the order..they kept sending me messages that the table will be dispatched in the next few days..i cancelled 4 times by phone and by mail 5 times.......the table did not get delivered but i also never received my refund i called 4 times for a refund...the staff always lie and tell me it will get refunded in the next 3 days..the staff member all give wrong names ,,,when i call and ask for them ..no one seems to know that person....today i called and the lady told me the same story when i told her that i hears that many times before she hung up the phone because ot was 7 o clock time to go home,,,,i really cried after this...i am expecting friends from abroad for a few days and i have to serve them dinner on the sofa,,,,,feel so embarrassed thinking about this...monday will be taking legal action this is not acceptable!!

awful customer service. I ordered a bed on wednesday and was told it would be delivered on Friday. i tried ringing at 6pm that friday, but no one answered despite it apparantly being 24 hour phone line. i sent emails & no one replied.
i rang again on monday, was spoken to very rudely by a salesman who huffed & puffed and sounded as though as i had just woken him up. told me the bed would be delivered that day.
i am still waiting for this bed! they are not not answering the phones again and I am accepting that my son is going to be without a bed for the immediate future
I ordered some bedroom furniture, was told it would be sent straight away.
Then i get an email saying out of stock, on back order until the Friday of that week when they would send it. (ordered on the Wednesday)
The furniture never arrived, the following week i was told it would be a few days. Still never arrived. I chased AGAIN and was AGAIN told a few days.
Eventually i called and they said they'd had a delivery in that day but had sent it all back as it wasn't good quality and wouldn't get any more in until mid June. This was too late as i needed it for a house move so i cancelled my order by phone and email and requested a refund.
I got an email saying a refund was being issued.
4 days later i have no refund and a wardrobe was delivered! I called to ask them to collect the wardrobe as the order had been cancelled and i'd got the furniture elsewhere, also i wanted my refund! They assured me it would be collected that week.
A week later i still have the wardrobe and the chest of drawers gets delivered!! I call AGAIN and say it should never have been delivered and they have to collect.
AGAIN they promise it will be collected that week.
The following week the delivery company come and collect the wardrobe ONLY, I call AGAIN and they say they'll collect the chest the next day.
I still have the chest! I've been chasing for collection.
I still don't have my refund!
Awful service, don't even go there.
I recently ordered a walnut lamp table from them and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived the next day. They emailed to say it was on its way and I had no troubles putting it together and am happy with the quality of it.
Pleased with the service and will look to order from them again in the near future.
Ordered some conservatory furniture mid March, we were given a date of delivery 14th April (having paid up front).. Come 20th April I decided to chase up with hip... I must have phoned/emailed about 10 times since.. at least 3 times over the phone they said they would contact the warehouse and get back to me...never did apart from 1 automated email saying " our staff are currently chasing up your order".. Eventually I pinned someone down who did the clickety click on the computer who said the order was with the courier and wait to be contacted by then... one more week ...no contact... i then rang hip to ask who the courier was and I rang them direct... who give them their due delivered the furniture the following Monday...missing the tables we had ordered... More phonecalls...emails...brushoffs... Hip emailed back and said the tables were still with the courier.... A week later still nothing... Off my own back I have rang the courier today who said "oh yes we forgot to pack them, we will deliver on Monday"
I swear if I had not chased this we would have had nothing... Their seemed to be no chase up/follow up/keeping customers informed...
My advice stay well away unless the order is in stock.

Ordered a bed 6 weeks ago online with delivery expected in 1-2 days.. Then got an email from them saying item is out of stock and delivery would be 4 weeks later and was offered some alternative beds which was double the price of the bed originally purchased as well as a single bed as an alternative to the double bed I originally purchased..I accepted the delay of 4 weekks..After 4 weeks I contacted them again and was then informed it would be another 4 weeks before stock is due to arrive and was again offered alternative beds at double the price.. Family from abroad visiting for 3 weeks and with my refund pending(which according to other reviews can take months) I need to pay for another bed and hope a receive my refund..
I ordered a TV stand with Hip Furniture. There was a problem initially with the order in that the courtier company failed to collect the order from the supplier. Their customer services responded promptly and courteously. They kept me informed of the position and dealt with the issue quickly. The order was re-processed at 2.30 pm on Thursday and the item was delivered by 11 am the following day (at no extra cost) ! The courier company were excellent as far as communication was concerned. They sent a text message and rang to confirm the delivery slot and delivery was on time.
Really outstanding customer service with a quality product to match. If only all companies were like this.

Looking for furniture in a natural ash finish. Good price and fast delivery time. Packages arrived in good condition.
As with all flat-packed furniture, assembly instructions can be inscrutable but in this case were sufficient for speedy finished product.
Would use Hip Furniture again based on this first experience.
After ordering a new bed frame from Hip Furniture, the item was delivered three days later, well within the promised seven day delivery estimation. The bed is exactly as described and was cheap as well! Would definitely use again and recommend to others.
I only wish I read YOUR reviews before I purchased from hip-furniture. My dealing with them started on 15th February, 2012. Goods were delivered within 2 days as is their delivery policy, this item was puchased as a surprise gift for my daughter, needless to say, we are still surprised by this company! When the battered box was opened there was a black stain on the table top which was very noticeable, I rang up immediately (1 hours after delivery on the 17th February) and they did agree, after numerous telephone calls for several days (8), that they would have to collect the stained tabletop first in order to send a replacement. My daughter waited in on the 27th-28th-29th of February then the replacement tabletop was delivered on the 1st March. The courier was kind enough to allow my daughter to open the parcel only to find that the new table top was more damaged than the original one, she refused to accept and this was returned to hip-furniture. Arrangements then had to be made for them to collect the original damaged purchase for a full refund, once again my daughter waiting in on the 5th-6th-8th and then eventually on the 9th March collection was made. After waiting 7days I contacted the courier, the delivery was made back to hipfurniture within 2 days. I have subsequently contacted the 'company' every morning only to have 'very nice people' saying "how sorry they are", "they can understand how I feel", "they have to have clearance from the warehouse", what excuses!! They received the furniture on approximately 13th March, It is now the Friday, 23rd March, 5 weeks after original purchase.....still NO JOY!!! WITH MY OWN EXPERIENCE, I WOULD AVOID PURCHASING FROM THIS COMPANY AND SUGGEST YOU DO TO. WHY DO THEY FEEL THE NEED TO TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS. WHY CAN'T YOU BE A COMPANY WITH A GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE REPUTATION??. May I just add, I have spoken to Trading Standard and have had a favourable response. I have noticed on this site how they give a 'lovely apology' as a reply, I will accept this if I get my money refunded....(On the 21st MARCH I had an e-mail thanking me for my order and they trust I have now received it and am enjoying it...work that one out for office management....I have spoken to [names removed]
