Hungryhouse have all my local takeaways, plus a rating system, this makes it easy to take a chance on a new place that you may not have tried before.

I've never had any problems with any order, and if theres any issue with the food you still get the takeaways number to call to.

I always get good food delivered when I order from Hungryhouse. Would definitely recommend them as they show you most of the local takeaways in your area.

I live on air , water , and hungry house

Nothing beats my staying in my lousy bed ordering lunch or dinner before I even open my eyes using one click my mobile app. I wonder what I would've done without it !

Used this website half a dozen times now and it's been fantastic.

I only use a couple of places on hungryhouse but the email service and customs contact is first rate. I often get my orders faster than advertised. In my opinion, give it a try as it's first rate.

Hungryhouse a non starter

I ordered online through Hungryhouse.com after seeing an advert on the telly. I waited all night and nothing arrived. I contacted the' live chat' facility and after waiting 45mins to be connected the helpdesk operator ended the call when i wrote that my order had not arrived. I then emailed customer services and recieved the following reply
"I am sorry to hear about the issues that you have had ordering with us.
Unfortunately this was due to a technical issue between us and the restaurant."

This reply is hardly satisfactory. Obviously the site does not work very well.
Luckily for me I had not prepaid my order, and would advise people to be wary before prepaying anything with 'Hungryhouse.com'.

I'm sorry to hear that your experience using us was less than satisfactory. According to your order, there was a system error in the transmission of your order to the restaurant. When this occurs, all of the information we have regarding this is passed onto our Quality Assurance department to make sure that these sorts of incidents don't happen again. Unfortunately, the information we currently have simply says the transmission failed.

I apologise for the poor experience, we work to fix issues like this when they occur and we hope to do better in the future.

Good site I am happy to use them regularly

They offer lots of different types of restaurants, all of whom will deliver to your postcode, and you can select by the type of food you are looking to order if you want to. Each restaurant has a map (that shows you where they are), latest reviews from customers and of course a menu from which you can select your food and drinks. I like the site and their support - sometimes (maybe on a Friday or Saturday) the delivery time could be an hour and a half, but most times it is under and hour.

Check the FSA hygiene safety register before ordering from your local!

I have just found out that my regular takeaway on your site has only 1 star out of 5 for hygiene rating on the FSA register! In fact, some of the restaurants in my area that you list have even scored 0 stars out of 5 on the FSA food hygiene register (the one with 0 stars appears at the top of my first page as a sponsored listing, so they pay you extra to appear on the top of the listing).

I was under the impression that Hungryhouse would ensure that the restaurants they list would comply with current hygiene regulations, or insist on some minimum standards.

Dont you check quality before advertising restaurants? If you care about your customers and reputation then surely you shouldnt have any restaurant with under 3 stars displayed on your sites Or you should at least have their FSA star rating clearly displayed (and not allow restaurants with 0 stars to appear at the top of your pages).


However I believe that HH are working on displaying hygiene ratings on all the restaurant pages in the future - at least this is what I have been told by them.

Rip off - no customer support response

The delivery guy rocked up with a different receipt to what I had in my inbox. I showed him the email and that it should have been a few pounds less but he did not care. Refused to give me my drinks. I though oh it's alright I'll just email customer support and explain what happened and get a credit to my account or something - NOPE! They wouldn't respond. Dealing with JustEat from now on.

Excellent as always

We order regularly from Masal Gate and the food is always first class. Deliveries are always punctual and the food as hot as if it has just come from the oven. Only minor criticism is that the vindaloo dishes could be a little spicier. Would recommend these folks to anyone.

convenient, straight forward, easy to use, but totally dependent on the individual restaurant's performance.

I use Hungryhouse regularly when I fancy something special to eat that I don't want to cook. The art is to know your favourite take away restaurants first then use the Hungryhorse service to order the food, the ability to look back and save favourite meals to re-order is very helpful. I also like the ability to included requests with the order like asking for meals to be altered such as a lamb dish to be cooked with chicken instead. Over the phone takeaways often 'forget' and you have no recourse once you get the food home.
I will continue to use them.

Terrible service - stay away

So we ordered at 8.15pm, they told us that the order would be delivered within an hour and a half (does it really take 1.5 hours to pack up some sushi and send it 1 mile!), they then said it would be another 20 minutes and after 2 hours still nothing. We called the restaurant and they told us that they had never accepted the order and had told Hungry House that this was the case.

It's a shame Hungry House couldn't be bothered to email us with that information. So at gone 10.15pm we have no food and no communication from Hungry House. All on Valentines night!

Hungry House have offered £10 off our next order, but NO - why would I want to go back and use someone who has such terrible service (I've never ordered anything that has taken less than 1.5 hours to arrive)!

Hungry House - well you will be a Hungry House if you use this service - the food never arrives!

The bottom line is the system doesn't work, and from reading the other reviews on TrustPilot late orders, failure to deliver etc is not uncommon with Hungry House and has been going on from some time.

With regards to their comment "and once you informed us that the food was never delivered, we cancelled and refunded the order" let's be clear this isn't a positive comment for them. They didn't "cancel the order", the order was never accepted, what they did was take my money and then only refund it once I called them 24 hours later. Had I not called them, their system would never have known that I hadn't received my food and they'd have kept my money. For a business model predicated on prompt delivery and convenience they have a long way to go.

I apologise for the service you received from us on Friday evening. The restaurant you placed your order from had to manually confirm the order using our automated system, this has to be done within a particular time period so as to not keep the customer waiting and after a certain period the order is declined when this confirmation code isn't given to us.

According to your order it was confirmed by the restaurant 4 minutes after it was placed and once you informed us that the food was never delivered, we cancelled and refunded the order.

We are currently following this issue up with our restaurant partner as they informed us that the order was accepted and would be delivered by 10:00pm.

I apologise for the many issues with your order on Friday and I can assure you we are working to correct this.

Do not use this appalling website!

We ordered our food online to come 2 hours later, got a call from the restaurant 20 mins After it should've been delivered saying they did not deliver to our house even though hungry house took our money and said they did! We tried to contact them via phone which online said they had a 0 min wait after 5 mins we gave up, the online service wouldn't connect, on twitter was told to DM them never got a reply, left them mine and my partners number to call back 24 hours later still no call, emailed them no reply and they still have our money! Ruined valentines day and completely ripped us off. I've never met any company as big that I could not get hold of terrible terrible excuse for customer service.

terrible service

We were given a 1 hour 15 minute delivery slot by Kish Mish in SW6, which they missed by 38 minutes, having been lied to at least once I would have cancelled if I had not made the stupid mistake of paying by card. I then rand customer help at Hungry House, who I did give up on after 27 minutes on hold (the first call just cut off after 15 minutes, so I stupidly rang back). The food arrived luke warm, but after a blast in the microwave it was good. Doesnt alter the fact that I will NEVER use either again.

easyjet is better, stay away

This is the worst customer service I have come across in a long time. They cant even apologise for the inconvenience created and making 2 people hungry. perhaps this is why they are called hungry house?
Their site had a problem last friday night, which lead me to believe I have placed an order. I have got as far as entering my card details and giving me on screen confirmation. One hour later I see no food is coming and I called the takeway which confirmed there was no order and apologised. Then I emailed to complain and guess what - received a cold reply a few days later saying that they are not aware of any order and basically not even trying to apologise. Very rude, I think even easyjet has better customer service.

Worst Service

Never order from the restaurant The Grill (Welling)! Worst service ever received. Placed order on HungryHouse at 19:53 and got confirmation email straight away. After 10 minutes received a phone call from The Grill saying one of the dishes was not available. So placed an new order at 20:20 but was told my order could not be fulfilled at 21:07! The staff who called me was not apologetic at all and even felt very pround of their restaurant--"We're a very busy restaurant. You can cancel the rest order or speak to Hungryhouse. It's down to you." I did speak to HungryHouse later but they were not helpful at all and because the order was not fulfilled I was not allowed to leave feedback on their website.

Shocking

stay well away, I ordered food and after half an hour they called me and said the order never turned up and asked me to read it out from my e-mail. then they told me it would take 1 hour and 40 minutes more!

The customer service was horrible, they stopped talking to me when I insisted their response was not good enough.

anyway I ask for a refund and they give me credit instead and now I have to wait three days to get my money back, not sure if it will come in three days though. Paid £50 and have nothing for it 1 hour 10 minutes later as I write this review.

Go direct to the take aways, I am not sure why I used this horrible company.
