Used this service a number of times. Food has always arrived promptly, and cooked. Haven't had one problem yet. Although that may be down to me always choosing the same company. A restaurant that i know can deliver to a very high standard. The ordering Process is very simple and effective. Highly recommended.
Food from <external link removed> arrived stone cold, kebab uncooked and swimming in watery juice. Calzone was filled with donner kebab! And burnt ( just a folded donner sandwich)
The whole order ended up in the bin. After complaining to hungry house since this restaurant was on top of their recommendation, they apologied and asked me to leave feedback!
Much like Trustpilot reviews companies, the folks at Hungry House have given us a tool to rate and compare the local takeaways. If a restaurant is on Hungry House and gives a poor service they wont last long, but those that give great food and service will see many, many repeat customers. We have also been pleasantly surprised at the range of local and different places which without Hungry House we would never have been aware of.
Its great for the restaurant owners and great for those who are buying the food.
Its the kite-mark the industry has long been waiting for!
I've only used Hungryhouse a few times and so far no problems. Even found a great new place nearby that I didn't know existed before using HH. Website is easy to navigate and I like that you can save and easily re-order entire orders as I tend to order the same things from the same places and only vary when I'm trying a new place. Now they just need to give us a Blackberry 10 version of their mobile app and I'd be a happy customer!
I used my phone to place an order and got right to the end, credited my account with the funds to pay and it kept on saying that the restaurant does not deliver to my location?? Even though i had used the postcode look up to order. then secondly I tried searching for restaurants that were open and it did not return any results. Looked online and re - ordered from the same restaurant (that did not deliver) and all went through OK. a bit confusing lol. Please take a look at the Mobile APP to fix the errors.
hungryhouse has come to my rescue on quite a few (hungover) Sunday afternoons... whatever issue I've had regarding restaurants (and there have been very, very few) has done nothing to overshadow the experience.
I'm pretty much just grateful that this exists!
We have been using Hungry House quite often, but will never do again.
It's the third time that, after receiving a confirmation email when the order was accepted , never got the food delivered.
We had to call the restaurant to place the order again. So that's from now, the best option to get take away, and save time and a bad service from Hungry House.
Hungry House has a great range of restaurants and takeaways, most of which have been great quality and with a great range of food on offer. I've used their service several times now and have experienced a few problems with orders being processed in a decent time. Great to use as a reference and then order direct with the establishment of choice instead, its much quicker!
Hungry House is a great concept, but unfortunately once orders are placed you are in the hands of the take away store - usually a small store that isn't familiar with online ordering. We have now had 2 out of the last 3 orders 'missed' by separate take away stores (both with high Hungry House ratings). This means that we have waited 90 minutes before the delivery window has ended before calling the store directly, only to find out that we have another hour's wait.
My recommendation - review the options on Hungry House and then phone the stores directly. As long as you can pay in cash it will also save you a booking fee.

Used a couple of times now, the website isn't the nicest looking but the service works very well and the customer service (Via Live Chat) are great and have always sorted out any problems i've had with restraunts.
I use this site pretty much everyday to get my lunch and sometimes even dinner. I've never had any issues with the site itself, but sometimes the restaurants don't live up to perfect standard (being late, or missed some item in the order). However, in all of those cases, Hungryhouse.co.uk have been very friendly with reimbursements when suitable.
I would recommend this site to anyone in the UK, especially the London area where I have the most experience with it.
i began using hungryhouse via the website and was impressed beyond my expectations. Solid and reliable, no problems just great service. When the app came out I was a bit concerned as no other website transferred quite as successfully as they should, but with their app hungryhouse set the benchmark. A dream to use
I order from hungry house as I don't like ordering over the phone and like to pay by card. My orders have always been accepted within 5 minutes, the food has never been late and the correct amount is always deducted from my card. If the reviews weren't as helpful as they are I would not
Have found the best pizza and kebab shops in Croydon/Bromley. If people have had issues I would advise them to try again before being so negative! Things happen sometimes which are out of a companies control and before shoutin your mouths off in hungry anger look at all the good reviews! ... I know you won't stop me from using them!
Hungry House are the worst online service i have ever used.
They took my order at 6pm on the Sunday. By 7pm, my order had still not been accepted by the restaurant. There was nobody available at Hungry House via phone or live chat to explain what had happened. Eventually, i managed to get through to the restaurant who said that they were having many similar complaints from Hungry House customers.
Hungry House emailed me at 00:17 the next day saying:
"Unfortunately, we have been unable to contact Oishii since 19:17. Therefore, to leave you with enough time to make other arrangements, your order has been cancelled."
By that time I had already told the restaurant to ignore my order and contacted Hungry House to complain. That was two days ago, and i still have not had a response.
This company is useless, and i strongly advise against ever placing an order with them.
So after numerous calls, which after a while could not get through. Online live chat doesnt not connect and no email responses. Hungry house has taken my money, with no confirmation or order or decline of order email!!! I have contacted my bank and will file fraud if they do not contact me asap!!!
What a ridiculously shite service, they take your money but don't send the order to the restaurant. you will be waiting about 77474 hours for a refund on food you never received .avoid ..stick to a proper site like just eat.
It's called hungryhouse cos they take your money and then leave u hungry.
Restaurant says order not received; 0800 number doesn't work, live chat doesn't connect, no reply to emails. We have a girl staying up who needs her dinner.
I can honestly say, I dont know how I ordered takeout before - its so much easier to do it via Hungryhouse especially when its late, and you dont know where would be open at 1 in the morning .... I recommend it to anyone who either hates calling uo resturants and ordering or people who feel peckish at random hours like myself & if you want to try something new/new resturant Hungryhouse basically enlightens you :D
I've used HungryHouse a few times now, and it's honestly a really good and quick way to order food on those nights when you're tired, cranky and just not in the mood to mess around in the kitchen. Plenty of options and even the occasional offer, and they've yet to fail me (though the take-aways themselves have, but that can hardly be blamed on the service for the site!). Fully recommend it to the tired, the hungry and those who just want food...
I think my headline review says it all.
tried to contact them several times to discuss an issue
I had with the restaurant - never got a reply.
these guys clearly could not care less about their customers.
On another (worst) note, I left a review on their site for the restaurant.
My review contained negative comments and description.
These have been removed! This practice is illegal and against fair competition.
The fundamental issue with hungryhouse is that it just isn't as good as just-eat! The choice, the ordering process, the discounts, the speed, the fees, the customer service. Worst of all, however, is that to keep restaurants on side, you won't tend to find many negative restaurant reviews (all are moderated prior to posting), which for many, is the basis of their choice. The site gives the impression that restaurants that are truly abysmal may actually be ok, and means genuinely good restaurants (which don't generally receive negative feedback) aren't viewed in as positive a light as they should be. If, however, I choose to use just-eat and find someone has ordered a mouldy pizza, it will be there for all to see. Transparency is key, but the only thing transparent about hungryhouse is that sales trump all else. The customer isn't king.
I can't imagine what we used to do without sites like hungryhouse. In the old days, we would have to keep whole batches of takeaway menus and then go down to order from the restaurant or telephone. You never knew whether you were getting a good deal or not, or whether the food would be any good. At least with hungryhouse I can check other people's reviews to see their opinions of the food, delivery etc. Great , great website alot better than the competition
The website of hungry house is relatively easy to use with lots of restaurants to choose from. However, there are numerous times that when I use the website, the dishes are put it the wrong sub menus, end up getting the wrong dish.
The iPhone app is also rubbish, it crashes all the time. And it wouldn't allow you to select an address that is not in your profile. So if you are planning to order takeaway at your friends house, then you can forget about it.
