Unfortunately it only has 2 takeaways in my area when Just Eat has something like 15 and more. I have been interested in trying HungaryHouse but until it gets more takeaways at HU17, I will be forced to use Just Eat.
The very first time I tried to order the HungryHouse website had major problems, but this seemed to be affecting many people according to Facebook posts at the time. I now tend to place orders earlier in the evening and haven't had any further problems.
On another occasion an email discount link from HungryHouse failed to work as part of an order, but after querying this HH subsequently sent me a specific code which worked fine the next time.
At the moment the number of takeaways signed up to HungryHouse is limited in my area. To date I've tried two different Indian takeaways (one of them for 2 different orders) and a Kebab shop. For all of these orders the ordering process has been faultless, the food very good and delivered promptly. One establishment phoned me to check if HH had confirmed the order as they were having problems acknowledging receipt of the order from HH.
I'm hopeful that Chinese food will be added to the available list soon! We do have other excellent local takeaways who aren't part of the scheme, but I do like the convenience of online ordering via HH.
My very first experience with Hungry House was absolutely terrible. I ordered food from a restaurant and the delivery guy came to my building with nothing more than my mobile number - which he claims wasn't working. After we missed each other, though he waited downstairs for half an hour, I called the restaurant directly to find that Hungry House didn't even furnish them with my name or even basic identifying information I specifically gave them at checkout - information which could help prevent an issue like this from happening. I have a 24 hour receptionist at front desk who could have easily taken the food from the delivery guy, or called me on our internal phone if she even had just my first name.
My card was charged for food I never got, and I emailed Hungry House expecting at least an apology or credit, but I got absolutely nothing. I was completely ignored like I, or the money I lost, wasn't worth their time. To this day I resent them for that first experience and such horrible customer service.
Now, I only deign to order from Hungry House when I'm too lazy, and I always opt to pay the delivery man in cash so I'm not out of pocket in case of another screw up.

Orders wrong, orders late (up to an hour over the given time slot and 3 hours from ordering) spoke to HH twice regarding the issues, to be met with a silent phone conversation and put on hold for ages - then offered a somewhat insulting £7 credit off next order, when we were still waiting for food!
Orders for companies which HH say are in my area, to wait 45 minutes and then have to order cancelled on me because it is too far, 4 miles!
Really disappointed with the experience and wont be using again. 3 Strikes!
We've used this site a few times & it is really quick and efficient. My only feedback would be that we plug in lots of personal information data each time and yet the site doesn't suggest that it has all it needs save for a username & password for you to become a member of the site but instead insists on you clicking through a separate link at the time that you just want to order your takeaway if you want to do that.
Whenever I've collected orders from a certain restaurant (Shezan) the order ticket does not have my name on it. This has caused the order sitting out on a bus night with no identifying name.
Inclusion of at least the surname would earn an extra star from me.
Food arrived when I was told it would, recieved messages when food had been ordered. No problems with site at all. The only problem I had was with a drink that was advertised as 330 ml but came in 275 ml which is a breech of trading standards.
The site itself is great and i've never had any problem with it, nor have I ever really had any problem with the end to end service.
The one issue I have is more so related to the way menu information is uploaded to the site by the takeaways themselves. It is sometime not clear and difficult ensure you are purchasing exactly what you want. There is also no descriptions of what dishes contain and not sure if it's even possible to upload descriptions. Like I mentioned, the takeaway may be some what to blame for this but if Hungry House could apply some top down changes to the way information is uploaded it might provide a better experience for both the takeaways and the buyer. Just a thought!
Hungry House is an easy to use service. Simply type in your post code and all the restaurants that delivery to your address will be listed with full menus and reviews. A really simple and straight forward service that gives you all the options you could need.
We've used them on multiple occasions and the food has always arrived hot and in a timely manner.
Would certainly recommend to anyone!
Using the past reviews of restaurants is really helpful. You can order from a take-away you've never used before and know from prior feedback how good the food is going to be. I will definitely keep using it.
To be honest if you aren't using the new app avoid the car crash that is hungry house. The website barely works with Chrome....an issue pointed out by their own team! This weekend tried to order food only for the site to freak out. HH went ahead and contacted the restaurant without me confirming my order so i was backed into a corner and ended up paying. Because of the shambolic way the order was placed the seven pound fifty credit i had been given for a previous mistake didn't take effect so i ended up paying full price. The apology and additional credit on complaint the next day good but doesn't make up for the stress. Avoid HH if you can.
i ordered a takeaway at 9.10pm on a sunday evening. it arrived at 10.40pm stone cold.
the delivery driver said he had been looking for my address for the last 20minutes even though i left clear instructions on how to find my property on the hungry house website. instead of ringing me on the mobile number i provided on the website to establish where he could find me, he drove back to the restaurant and rang me from there. then i waited another 20mins for him to return, with my cold meal. overall a poor experience, i rang the takeaway direct and they told me to order directly through them in future to avoid any confusion.
The delivery was delayed by an hour and a half . Not sure if this was a fault with Hungryhouse or with the takeaway place but when I loaded up the 'live chat' customer service support for Hungryhouse, I was greeted by a representative and I asked them why the delivery was so delayed, then the representative simply disconnected the chat session without so much as a single response!!
Hungry house is great website to find a nice takeaway. I use them only once in a while, in the past I had cold nasty food delivered but last 2 times I have used them we got fast and quite nice food delivered. will definitely use them again in the future :)
This company has got it truly right, you cant fault for service, value, and the overall experience of online food ordering, the only problem is it makes you lazy because the website is far easier to use than the traditional oven or cooker. WELL DONE HUNGRYHOUSE !!!!
I find ordering through website very easy. Discounts are all taken into account without having to phone and ask for 'special offer' or 'early bird', etc. Have had an occasional item incorrect, but that has been the takeaway's fault, not Hungryhouse - a quick phone call has sorted it. No problems with billing or payment. Orders through Hungryhouse do seem to sit doing nothing for a little while before they ping their way to the takeaway, so you have to order with time to spare. If they could sort that out it would be 5* rating!
We use Hungry House quite often to order Take Aways. Plus using Quidco earns a bit of cashback too. There's a good choice of take aways for our area, although there are still a few local ones that I'd like to see added! Really pleased with the service. I'd like to see the ability to pay using paypal and also maybe a rewards system to earn discounts? Other than that, love it!
I was using HungryHouse, I had moved the money over from my card to my account, just before I pressed the place order option the app force closed, when I went back on to the app the order had not been placed and was not in the history, yet the money was still taken from my account. I called the restaurant ans they had no recollection of my order, so I am now out of pocket and no meal has been ordered.
Hungry Horse is excellent for ordering in a group. Its web interface allows you to allocate the things you order to each person's bill, so there's no more bistromathics to work out who owes what.
I also receive regular discount e-mails, taking the cost of the meal down a little bit.
The only negative is that it's not really easy to tell which takeaways in my area are good. All the reviews tend towards average. I wish I could find out what my friends think of various takeaways, or maybe easily keep track of which ones I've ordered from before and what I thought of them.
Hungry house just gets it right, Ordered many times and with the options on the site theres no way the restaurant can go wrong.
The site layout is fantastic, easy to navigate and always has me adding tempting extras.
One word? Fantastic!
I have used Hungry House a few times but I fail to see any advantage on simply calling the restaurants directly. I was sent an email offering a 15% discount, but despite using the link provided, with the promise that the discount would be applied automatically I ended up paying full prices anyway. I sent an email to email@example.com, but received no answer. Instead the next day I received an email asking me to rate the meal (an email which detailed all the items I had ordered and the price I had paid, how ironic), and another one asking to rate the website. I see no reason to use this service again.
Food arrived on time.
Very friendly delivery man.
Food was hot and the Jerk chicken was very tasty but the porion of chicken was a little on the small side.
I tried Salt Fish Patties but they are not for me.
Confused by an item on the menu which has the description of Carrabian Food ????
The last 3 times I have ordered the food has turned up cold, and very very late we are talking over and hour after the time HH say it will arrive
I have emailed their customer service to say how disgusting meals have been and told them about how late it was etc etc NO Answer at all
Last nights meal was vile, stringy cold chicken, lank salad, rock hard desert the only good thing was the diet coke no point in complaining they do nothing at all
I am not bothering again I'll just google local businesses and book direct
I've used hungryhouse a few time. Food has always come on time, very often with something (quite minor, however) missing. For instance in the last order my drink was missing. I suppose this also comes to the restaurants but it has a been a constant with my orders on hungryhouse, as opposed to justeat.
I have ordered few times from hungry house. They've been alright except couple of times. Ordered chinese and after waiting for nearly 1 hr and a half reveived an email saying the order has been cancelled!! I had hungry friends waiting!! I sent an e- mail saying a phone call would have been apppreciated because not everyone checks their email all the time!! I did not hear anything from hungryhouse!! I did not bother thinking it may be just one off until last week! Order pizza and received email saying it will be late. So i rang the restaurant to cancel who suggested to contact hungryhouse. I emailed hungryhouse and specifically asked them tO acknowledge the email. Once again nothing!! The food did not arrive so I thought everything was cancelled. I checked my account today and the total amount has been debited from my account! I have emailed again for a refund but I know I won't get any reply back as per usual.
I looked at this site and hungryhouse seems to reply here! Hoping that they'll notice this and respond.
so i get an email offering me 25% off...Great instead of using my normal just eat ill use hungry house. I have to click the link in the email and the basket will automatically adjust. "Wrong" nothing happened and i ended up paying full price.
I emailed to let them know and no answer i did get an email 12 hours later asking me how my over priced meal was but they couldn't be bothered to sort my issue out .
Hungryhouse is handy when you're sitting home and too lazy to cook, but have no cash on you. I like being able to browse the menus and work out what to have. However, some of the reviews for places I've had bad food from in the past seem to make it sound great, so it's hard to know what food's best. Of course, this isn't a fault of HH. Also, I sometimes prefer just to pick up the phone and make an order that way, but overall, I'm happy with the way it works and will definitely use it again.
I recently placed an order for a takeaway via HungryHouse but had difficulty with the payment process as the site kept crashing, the last time during the card authorisation process. I wasn't sure whether payment had been made so I called the restaurant directly. They told me that they weren't taking orders from HH any more as "I think they've gone out of business". If I wanted the food I would have to pay the restaurant directly, which I did. I checked my account the next day and low & behold the £32.40 had been debited twice, once by HH and once by the restaurant. I called HH and they said that they were still in business and would refund the money immediately. That was 9 days ago and I'm still waiting.
I remember ordering once using hungry house and the food was so bad that i had to give a bad review but, a few weeks later ordered again to see if could have been some bad day, they refused my order and next day my account did not exist, even called them and they said they never had any details. good luck tryin to rip of the next one.
Been using Hungry House for a while now and not had a problem. Received an incomplete order last night and contacted the vendor who said they'd bring the rest. They didn't bother to come so I complained to Hungry House. The live chat operator were a bit rude but offered a goodwill gesture. Will use once again only but will move over to Just Eat instead from now on. Real shame.
