As our business grew we approached a major UK high street bank to set things on an official footing - however they didn't even want to give us a business ACCOUNT because of the industry we were in (smartphones - hardly very popular, expanding or internationally successful....).
This was not because of poor credit, they simply didn't want to open an account for people trading in our sector so the application wasn't even processed. We weren't looking to borrow money, get an overdraft, not even a cheque book but they flatly refused to look at our application let alone find out about us or take any interest. So much for driving forward the UK economic recovery as they keep saying.
IWOCA on the other hand looked at us entirely differently when it came time to expanding our business. They examined our actual sales and customer performance via feedback on eBay and Amazon and made their decision based on real world example, without writing us off before even talking to us like the bank did.
THIS is how business should be conducted in the 21st century. Do we actually need banks? Our economy certainly doesn't have much to thank their so-called expertise for. Long live IWOCA and their approach. The people I've dealt with at IWOCA have been professional, friendly and efficient. What's more they even seem to care. A big thank you to all.
