I was worried about having laser eye surgery - I'm risk averse about anything like that and it took me ages from the initial appointment to make a final decision about whether to go ahead. I really appreciated that no-one pressurised me at any point and I always felt that I was given all the information I needed in a form that I could understand. You meet quite a few different members of staff as you go through the process and everyone - from the receptionist through to the surgeon - was courteous, thoughtful, and efficient. I'm very pleased with the results of the surgery and the aftercare process has made me feel confident that if there were any problems they could be dealt with. I really can't imagine a better or more professional service and I'd definitely recommend this company.
After years of thinking about having laser eye surgery I finally decided to go ahead this year. I was worried as my sister had her eyes done at one of the high street practices and she didn’t have a great experience. I was recommended by a friend to go to London Vision clinic. I thank her every day for recommending me to go to London Vision Clinic. The process is flawless! Everything from the first contact with my patient care coordinator who explained everything to me and could answer all my questions to the first visit in the clinic with the optometrist to the surgery and aftercare. Before having the procedure you spend about 3 hours in the clinic, they check everything. The optometrist explains everything in detail about the surgery and what happens after the surgery. After my appointment I had no concerns and I was excited about the surgery. I had the blended vision treatment with Mr Carp who I met before my surgery for a consultation. He made me feel at ease and he was so professional and friendly. The clinic is so cleaned and the atmosphere is very calming. All staff are so professional and I always look forward to coming back for my follow up appointments. I am now 2 months post op and my vision is amazing. I am 56 years old and my vision has never been better. This is the best decision I have ever made and I will recommend this clinic to everyone I know!!!
I was debating having laser eye surgery for a long time before taking the plunge. I called London Vision Clinic and from the get-go, their staff were fantastic! Very personal service; I spoke to the same customer adviser throughout the process, got to meet the surgeon prior to the surgery (who also tailor made the surgery to me) and had very in-depth pre-operative testing. Before the surgery all my fears were laid to rest, offered a massage and chocolates to relax, and can not believe how quick and easy it was! No discomfort or negative effects at all afterwards, this really was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Oh, and for any extremes like me out there, my prescription was -7 and -6.5 and I can now see perfectly!
i had my initial surgery in 2005 followed by 3 enhancement procedures in the subsequent 2 years. i have been left with poor contrast sensitivity, poor night vision (including starbursts) and dry eyes. what passes for acceptable vision in the eyes of laser surgery practitioners is personally not a satisfactory result. although i have complained about vision problems there has been no follow up care to help with the fitting of contact lenses - for which i am now seeking aid from moorfields eye hospital.
I've always had worries about getting my eye's done, it's one of those things you should never risk. You're only blessed with the two eyes in your lifetime so why take the risk?
I was utterly impressed with the service that I received at LVC, their one day test to see if I was compatible, another day to get you prepared, and the surgery itself was quick and painless.
Around 6pm the same day I got home, I received a text message from Dr.Glenn which offered assurance as well as a contact should I have any problems. I went in for the check up the day after, a week after and a year later - all quality service which I would suggest to others should they also wish to get this surgery done.
Based upon other reviews and information on the London Vision Clinic website I decided to call for an appointment for a comprehensive consultation. From this moment onwards you will be treated very respectful. The actual treatment (LASIK in my case) was completely painless and as long as you follow-up on the after treatment procedure without any discomfort.
It has been a life changer for me, wearing glasses aged 6, with short-sightyness of -11 restored to a vision of 16/20 without any aid now. Amazingly, aged 44 now, still no need for wearing reading glasses after treatment.
Many compliments to the customer care team. They are very proffessional and caring.
Many, many thanks for a life changing experience.

The whole experience was first class. The treatment I received was as good as, if not better than, I could have expected. I would, without hesitation, recommend the London Vision Clinic to anyone.
I have worn glasses and contact lenses for 50 years, how much of my life have I spent cleaning lenses, taking them out, buying solutions, changing glasses, feeling on the floor for lost lenses, experiencing the acute discomfort of grit in my contact lensed eye, screwing my eyes up and realising that I'd got them in the wrong eyes. All in the past, now I wake up and go to sleep without all that rigmarole and discomfort. My life is so much more relaxed. And all this benefit without pain. I am delighted. Thankyou LVC.
Wanting desperately to be able to see again without the use of glasses doesn't mean that I wasn't petrified of the procedure but from the first assessment through to the final adjustment by Professor Reinstein I could not have wished for better care. Occasionally people will say that they could have the procedure for a quarter of the price, but my reply is always "I''ve only got two eyes and as they need to last me a lifetime I want the best care for them - don't you?!!"
I decided to have laser eye surgery a little over a year ago. After scouring through the many options available, London Vision Clinic stood head and shoulders above the rest due to their excellent reputation. The surgery itself was painless and with constant reassurance from my surgeon, Glenn Carp, and the other brilliant members of staff, the recovery time was remarkably quick.
Since the operation over a year ago, I have had no side effects or issues whatsoever. My eyesight has improved from being approximately shortsighted: minus 10 in each eye, to very slightly longsighted, which is reducing to the point that my vision is close to 20:20! I would strongly recommend London Vision Clinic to anyone who is considering having laser eye surgery.
They just must be the best in their field, what a great service provided by them
I was blind and now I see... it has changed my life completely. I felt no discomfort during surgery and the whole procedure was over before I even knew it!
I had my surgery a few weeks before my wedding and I must say, I'm so happy I did, as I saw my groom clearly!
Best yet, I can't even recall how blurry my life used to be - thank you!
A few months ago I was in exactly the same situation as you, the reader of this review, researching about laser eye surgery and the different clinics and surgeons. The London Vision Clinic stood out for the service they offer, and the expertise they have. Professor Reinstein is one of the leading laser eye surgeons in the world, so whilst I was naturally nervous about the procedure, knowing that I was in the best possible hands was very reassuring. I can safely say that every single member of staff I encountered, from the receptionists, nurses, my optometrist, and Prof. Dan himself, were polite, friendly, and warm. They create a safe and relaxing environment and really put you at ease.
I had a keyhole Lasik procedure which is definitely the next generation of laser eye surgery. Rather than creating a flap, only a small incision is made. This means the healing process is a lot quicker than with standard Lasik. The actual operation is a lot quicker too as just one laser is used. There is absolutely no pain or discomfort, it's just a odd sensation. I was astonished as to how quickly it was all over.
Now the LVC may not be the cheapest place to have laser eye surgery, but that does not mean they are not value for money. The expertise and aftercare you receive are exemplary. I found it was the little touches that really stood out to me such as the text messages you receive from Prof. Dan after your surgery checking that everything is ok.
My one resounding thought after surgery was "That was scarily easy! Why don't more people have this done". It's crazy that such a life changing surgery is so quick, easy and painless. I have no trouble recommending the London Vision Clinic to anyone and everyone who wishes to have laser eye surgery. I cannot thank Prof. Dan and his team enough!
From the beginning until the end the service was 5 stars.
All the staff were First class.
The Clinic was out of this world. High- Tec. Comfortable No not comfortable Luxurious.
I could not fault the LVC.
Pre_ Care excellent
Finally the operation was a success
Dr Dan is the best
I saw them on tv and thought that looks intresting I must go onto the internet and check them out after looking at the site I decided to phone them to cut a long story short I phoned them so may times to ask questions but they were fine about it I then I booked a day to go down to the clinic when I got there I felt alittle out of place due to myself being disabled but they treated me like everyone else respect and politeness second to none and they helped me out so much I felt bad that they were doing so much for me anyway after a number of visits the day came when they did the surgery they went though everything a number of times they make you so relaxed the day of they surgery they talk though everything when I got to my hotel Glenn Carp text me to make sure I was ok as I think they were alittle worried about me due to my disability since I've had it done every phone call I've made they have been happy to help out in any way they can there after care is second to none and if I had to do it again I would go straight back to LVC it was worth waiting the 6 years of research I did to find the right people and right clinic to do the surgery I am more then happy with ALL THE LVC STAFF and yes they are on my Christmas list no I am glasses free and it has made life easier with my athletics and scuba diving THANKYOU TO ALL THE STAFF AT LVC
I would definately recommend the London vision clinic very professional, very helpful & did their very best to make it as easy as possible!! They are so thorough in all the tests and definately put me at ease and answered any questions that I had!!! It's still a miracle waking up every day being able to see!!!
I would recommend Dan Reinstein and his staff unreservedly to anyone consudering laser treatment. Everyone is very caring and reassuring and it is hard to imagine how the experience could have been improved. I was especially impressed by the excellent level of communication at all stages of the process, not only from the receptionists, but also from Dan himself post-op, something I would not have expected!
I'm very satisfied with the service provided by LVC. The staff is very friendly, caring and qualified, i felt safe and calm during the whole procedure (pre-op tests, the operation itself, and the post-op check-ups). Also the fact that patients are able to directly call their surgeon after the operation for any doubts or questions is very reassuring.
When i thought about having laser eye surgery, i was slightly afraid of the procedure, and i wanted the best clinic for my eyes. I was recommended LVC by my partner, who had the procedure done a couple of years before, and i'm very glad i chose them.
I can't describe how happy i felt when i first opened my eyes the day following the operation and i could see clearly again without the need of glasses!
And even now, over 1 year after the operation i know i can always call back the clinic if i ever need any assistance.
I would highly recommend LVC to anyone thinking about getting laser eye surgery.
My husband and I both had Lasek treatment on our Eyes, I had to have my done again as this was for Astygmatism, and I understand its like cooking a Steak better to under cook as you can always do it again. The follow ups were thorough and the team are professional
I did suffer a lot with dry eyes after, this was very uncomfortable, however they took good care of me and it turned out that I had an intolerance to preservatives in the drops I was using (from the Clinic) all was sorted and my husband and I have recomended the Clinic from the start, to many friends and family.
Just one huge dissapointment, after 5 years I have been seen by an optician who recommends I wear Bi focals! I am very dissapointed this has only lasted five years, although I always knew Reading glasses would be necassary as I grew older, that I could have coped with, but, the only reason I had this procedure performed was because I dont like wearing glasses, not even sun glasses.
You have complete trust in them. They look after your eyes as they would take care of their own. And they are all lovely with it.
I was very lucky to receive some monies from a family member which amounted to
getting my eyes sorted told by mr Dan this would take two opps five years later still got
20/20 vision but prices for follow up appiontments doubled in price thanks to all the nice
My vision was -6 in both eyes, and I wasn't prepared to accept the need to still have glasses/contact after surgery, I just didn't understand the point otherwise. I wanted at least 20/20. London VIsion Clinic were the only company with the consistent results, experience and quality care that mattered to me. My surgery was over 5 years ago now, but I recall how nervous I was like it were yesterday. Dan and his team are second to none. Their sheer professionalism and incredible quality of care made me feel as as comfortable as I could be. I was even offered a massage beforehand to relax me further,...which I took! :). No pain, just a little uncomfortable, and after following the post instructions to the letter, I was amazed that after many years of glasses/contacts I had 20/12 vision (which is 2 steps better than 20/20!) in the space of a few hours. I couldn't be happier, and 5 years on, I still remain in awe of the clarity of my vision. These guys are the real deal, I would (and have!) recommend them to anyone wanting to improve their vision. I have already had 2 friends have surgery with them from my recommendation who are equally as delighted. So, from -6.00 and practically blind without 'help' to (what feels like) super vision! I wouldn't trust anyone else to deliver such a fabulous overall result. Dan and his team are top notch. If there were 10 stars - they'd get it!
The service here is excellent. They are completely professional and efficient and also incredibly friendly, helpful, cheerful and welcoming.
Everything went perfectly and exactly as I was told. So there were no surprises and I felt completely confident trusting them with my precious sight. The pre-op and follow up treatment was also impeccable.
Treatment was very expensive, £6,000, which I had done 4 years ago. My eyes are still dry and have to use drops to lubricate them. At first I had regular checks on them for 3 years, but my specialist signed me off after that. But one year on, I received a letter to make an appointment for a check up at a cost of £150. I was not at all happy at this, because in the information they give you it states that you are under their care for life. I was not expecting to pay! more money just for a check up.
The LVC and especially Professor Dan Reinstein were highly recommended to me by a friend of a friend. I had previously considered laser eye surgery and looked into the various companies that advertise on TV. I never felt confident enough to actually go along, until I checked Professor Dan out on the internet and was very impressed with what I saw. In fact, it was so impressive that my husband had his laser eye surgery at the same time as I did - and he hadn't even been considering it!
Everyone at the London Vision Clinic is welcoming, courteous and efficient and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Mr Glenn Carp was reassuring from our first meeting and during the procedure, which was painless. My close-up vision had become so blurred with multifocal lenses, which was very frustrating. Eighteen months on I still marvel at the clarity of my vision and feel so fortunate that I was able to entrust this transformational surgery to Mr Carp. I am eternally grateful to all those involved. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the London Vision Clinic.
Having your eyes surgically 'adjusted' is obviously a somewhat nervewracking experience. LVC could not have handled the process any better, my eyes are perfect and I am well set to live the rest of my life without ever needing glasses. Happy days . . .
I cannot recommend LVC enough.
First impression is polite & professonal, followed by thorough examinations. Always considerate, flexible & accommodating.
I have received excellent treatment, always with great attention to detail throughout. This is then followed with attentive aftercare & very pleased with the results. I had a complicated prescription & so pleased to now experience vision without glasses.
I felt safe & confident in the presence of experts, experience & sound advice.
Not only was the treatment on my eyes excellent but every contact with them was excellent too. The service and treatment I received was first class and I do not have one criticism of them. I now have 20:20 vision. I am 62 years of age and my experience and interaction with LVC is one of the best of my life. Thank you LVC.
To say I'm petrified at the prospect of any kind of surgery is an understatement. It took me 2 weeks to pluck up the courage to call the Clinic just in case they were to tell me they could fix my sight! I had enquired about correcting my vision at various clinics over the years only to be turned away due to my astigmatism. I turned up to my Assessment Appointment fully expecting them to me they couldn't help me. When they told me I was a candidate for surgery I was overwhelmed with excitement and fear all at once and burst into tears. The staff are extremely welcoming, the Optometrists highly knowledgeable and my surgeon, Glenn Carp, is very good at putting hysterical patients at ease! Almost as soon as you walk in, you know you are in good hands. It's been over 2 years since I had my vision corrected yet every morning when I awake, I still can't believe I can see. I'm in awe of my new vision, I absolutely love peripheral vision (which is new to me) as I haven't fallen over since I acquired it!! It may have taken me 2 weeks to pluck up the courage but it was and still is the best phone call I have ever made.
I went to see Professor Rheinstein with little expectation, as I had had a squint from birth and had worn glasses from the age of 3 years old to 54 years old. The LVC is professionally run with a genius at the helm. I haven't worn specs now for over 3 years and it is amazing to dive under the sea and see. To wake up and not grapple for glasses. To work and travel without constantly looking for glasses or contact lenses. The joy of being able to see unaided, has been amazing. I am truly grateful.
Excellent work and very good customer service
My experience was very positive - it really reminded me of the Toyota advert of the ball bearing going along a smooth, fine tuned process. They have a masseuse to help you relax prior to the operation, read a script during it to reassure you that things are under control and follow up with a text message in the evening to make sure that you are alright. At each stage I felt informed, in control and reassured that the clinic knew what they were doing. I highly recommend it.
