I stayed at hotel Melia White house in London for 2 days during at business trip.
Hotel style a little confused. Supposed to be modern style apparently with a mix of classis.
They use very strong aromas at the lobby area. Too much, not good.
Breakfast pretty good, above average. But the restaurant which is also used for the breakfast, is basically taking their own tips. I had dinner at the restaurant, but didnt find the service too good and therefore decided not to tip them. Later on then I came home I checked the bill and saw that the restaurant charged me 3,5 pounds for tipping.Thats not acceptable.
Beautiful resorts. One person in their staff, Bernard Seid scammed me with the membership. I lost $7500 because of his dishonesty. When signing for membership, he promised that it was an ALL-INCLUSIVE, but this is not true. I found out that I had to pay $100 per person for food. I would not be surprised if my comment is blocked. I always book direct with SOL MELIA. They are excellent and their prices are always better than any other company. I have never encountered anything negative about this company at all. The hotel Guadalupe in Majorca is also excellent and every booking we jave made have always been handled with expertise. 5 stars
Booked 5 months in advance, showed up and our 2 Bdr suite was not available. Argued enough and it became available. They drove u nuts about a 90 minute meeting to sell you a time share. We declined, and their customer service imeediately DISSAPPEARED!!! Our concierge was nowhere to be found. Our 1st floor 2 Bdr suite had a horrible MUSTY odor, and they came in and sprayed Febreeze. Reservations for the hotel was a joke, you could barely get them. If your concierge's name is Super Wagner--ask for another one. December 18th-23rd--rained every day and 25 mph winds.
I've travelled and stayed in Melia hotels now 4 times and been very happy each time. Booking through their website is fast and easy and you don't have to pay until you arrive at the hotel. The hotels are always good quality with friendly staff and excellent facilities. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Melia hotels to anyone.
We have very mixed views of the Melia Alicante as the hotel suffers a little from what could be described as a split personality: it mixes business customers with holiday makers and is more of a city hotel despite being on the beach; as a result it does not totally provide what a holidaymaker requires. It is well positioned the rear faces the beach and the marina is close to the front. The breakfasts were superb with plenty of variety and the breakfast room had good views of the beach and sea, beakfast service was excellant. The reception area and main bar were always cold: the airconditioning was set too low and the bar had no external windows so you could have been in any city in the world when you were in there. The pool area is in the shade in the afternoon. The first room we were allocated was right in a V of the building (it is built in a zig-zag fashion), had a very narrow view of the sea, and felt very claustophobic. However, this was readily changed to a better room with a good view of the beach. The room was well maintained and the cleaners were excellant. The restaurant was also cold and had a very limited menu so we only dined in there once. There were plenty of restaurants and bars around so there was no need to dine or drink in the hotel thank goodness. Reception staff were very helpful but the lady that took my final payment could not operate the card machine properly and managed to have me paying in pounds not euros as I had requested. She then cancelled that payment, tried again and eventually managed to cause my Santander card to be stopped altogether so I had to pay by debit card which cost me extra with fees from my bank.
Holiday really good and in a great beachfront location. Only minor criticism would be that reception staff could possibly provide guests with more information on location, hotel facilities etc. We were half board and food was really good.
Staff extremely polite and helpful. Very well organised hotel. Very clean, the breakfast is a must ,everyting was perfect difficult to find a negative pont ...chic ,clean ,service the food, location and the amazing beach .everyting was so perfect .I recommending this hotel for all people with good taste
bisher konnte ich in einigen Melia-, Tryp- und Innside-Hotels, meistens in Spanien, übernachten und habe immer einen sehr guten Service genossen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und großzügig. Gute Frühstücksauswahl.
Melia has a wide portfolio of hotels in Spain, ranging from upper-end Melia hotels to budget TRYP hotels. I stayed at Melia Sitges (ok), Melia Sky Barcelona (nice) and TRYP Madrid Gran Via (decent, but dated). First two were fine, TRYP Madrid Gran Via looked like a hotel from 80's though. However, the service in all three of them was good, bathroom facilities clean and overall I have never had any issues with Melia. Therefore, I recommend Melia!
We were delighted with our holiday to the Melia Alicante. The situation was ideal for elderly visitors like us - strolls in all directions without worrying about traffic, great views in all directions and the town within an easy walk when we wanted it. The hotel was very comfortable and all the staff we came in contact with excellent. Had it not been for illness we would already have returned and we are still hoping to do so.
