Well worth doing especially if you have children and it worked out cheaper than the long stay car park! Had to wait about 10 mins for car to be collected but was better than having to get cases onto a bus!
Arrived early at Heathrow for departure, phoned to say we were only 5 mins away, arrived and only waited 5 mins for them to collect car, no problems checked car over, signed and that was it done. On arriving back, phoned them as we got out of the customs area, by the time we walked to the meeting point our car turned up, It was a first class service and would recommend it, 5 star service
We used MGP Heathrow for the second time recently, this time from T5. We always do valet parking when with kids.
Dropoff was fine although the premium of £20 for a 4-5am meet (we needed 5am) seemed a little steep and I suspect it didn't all go to the driver. Instructions provided were clear enough and the T5 facilities are geared to third party off airport parking, which is sensible. Text message service with a reminder of the number to call if running late is a nice touch.
Collection was smooth, I got another text while in baggage reclaim with all the numbers again.
Only three small blots prevented me from giving 5 stars 1. the price of early meeting - I would have been more happy if just built into the price. 2. the driver on collection didn't see us arrive despite a phone call, so I had to ask some of the reps from other companies where the Drivefly rep was - he was sitting in a car a few spaces away from our car. 3. I had particularly brilliant service from a Gatwick valet parking company (Skypark) recently that gives this one something to aspire to - on dropoff they offered a discounted cleaning service which I actually wanted and was very thorough.
However, I recommend this service at a good price from a professional operation, thank you.
Once the drop off location had been found the service was prompt and efficient and pick up on return involved only an acceptably short wait. Instructions for drop off are confusing and require rewriting.
I was a bit unsure using the meet & greet service. Never used it before. It was easy to find the area ,in the short stay cat park , level 4. Gentleman was very polite & I felt reassured about handing over my keys. On our return we rang when we were in the baggage hall & only had to wait 5 minutes for our car to arrive. All was fine, car in same condition& a quick and easy handover. Very happy with the service and would use again.
These guys have my repeat business for good, or at least the foreseeable future. They are decent value and have frequent early-bird discounts, they turn up when they say they will and manage the handover quickly. Their drivers are capable, helpful and pleasant and the contact centre is efficient. Twice in the last 6 months their drivers have helped out cheerfully with minor crises (flat mobile phone; lost parking ticket) which could have jeopardised or marred our holidays. Thoroughly recommended.
I used the Drivefly valet parking service at Heathrow T5 from 14.2.14 to 22.2.14.
When arriving on 14.2.14, I advised the controller about the roofbox on my Volvo XC90, and he suggested, instead of using the short stay car park, I wait at Departures for the car to be collected - this all went smoothly. On returning on 22.2.14, I called and reminded the controller about the roofbox, and he told me to go to Departures Gate 22, and the car would be brought there. I waited an extremely long time. When I called, initially the controller told me the driver was just on his way to me at Departures level. I called back when no one had arrived several minutes later - he then called the driver and spoke to him, and realised that he had gone to the short stay car park. The phone call was then cut off and I didn't hear any more from the controller.
When the car finally arrived at the Departures level, the driver told me that he had not been told to come to Departures, instead of the enclosed car park - which mean that not only was my extremely tired family waiting over half an hour for the car to come in the cold night, but my roofbox was damaged by the car park roof.
You can clearly see cracks and scrapes on my roofbox.
I feel that we have been treated very badly - the controller never apologised to us, and was quite argumentative. At the very least, the cost of our parking should have been refunded. Instead, the company has ignored my attempts to contact them with photographs proving the damage caused.
I have used this firm more times than I can remember, and while it is murky how you get a frequent flyer's pass out of them, I cannot fault them for reliability in turning up or looking after the car. The people are nice, too. Their service is one of the things that makes Heathrow more tolerable.
