Very poor service - couldn't deliver - kept our money

Ordered a Aqualux shower enclosure, which on their site said 3 - 10 working days for delivery. After 10 days and no communication at all I chased. Talked to a woman who said she didn't know when delivery would be, she would have to find out and ring me back. I waited all day and of course no call.

Next day I rang again and she still didn't know and really couldn't care less. So I asked to cancel, since by then the whole thing was looking very suspicious. Again no concern at all about me cancelling, sounded as though it happened all the time. She said I couldn't cancel by phone, or by email, I had to fill in one of their web forms, which I did.

I've since had no communication and naturally no money returned. It was around £1000 it's not an insignificant amount.

Oh by the way. Isn't it strange that the bad reviews for them have a lot of detail in but the good reviews just say how wonderful they are. Who's writing them eh?

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

I have never had an experience as bad as this service and appalling after care.
Our toilet arrived in shards although I did not know this on signing for our delivery.
My husband ,the purchaser discovered this later in the day when he removed the inadequate packaging.
Nationwide Bathrooms refuse to be accountable once delivery has been made and signed for despite the fact that they clearly state on their website that your order can be left with a neighbour if necessary. I have thoroughly read their terms and conditions and nowhere does it state that once goods are signed for the company has no further responsibility. How many of us ask our couriers to delay departure so we can remove packaging to check our goods are in perfect condition. These are rogues and will be reported to Trading Standards and a few other consumer watchdog agencies.

Disgusted with service

Ordered a shower door from them, parts were missing but because I had not checked it within 24 hours i had to wait for the parts to be delivered. 2 pieces were received of the 4 missing and these had obviously been used as you could see washer marks round the screwholes. The date on the shower door was over two years old and had probably been on display somewhere as company who made same had stopped production of that particular door. They have still not supplied the rest of the missing parts. Thankfully because they told my credit card company amongst other things that I had refused the missing parts, and I was able to prove that this was not the case my credit card company have refunded the full amount paid. Don't purchase anything from them or the other company at the same address who sent emails to my credit card company although I purchased the item from Nationwide Bathrooms.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I am posting the letter I had to write to the MD of Duravit bathrooms as Nationwide refuse to deal with the problems themselves. I placed an order in mid January and I am still waiting for Nationwide to complete the order in mId March. There has been no attempt to explain their incompetence or any form of an apology just a blanket refusal to deal the the issue

Dear [name]

I am writing to you as I understand that along with [name] you are currently running Duravit UK since [name] resignation.

I wish to make you aware of the appalling service I have received from one of your suppliers, Nationwide Bathrooms.

I placed a significant order(attached) on the 16th January this year as we are developing a large high end property in West Sussex.

I wanted Duravit products where possible and as I was confident that you would only supply reliable companies I place my order, with some caution, online with Nationwide bathrooms. It will pay you to note that I was going to use a company called [external reference] but their reviews online were so appalling that I changed my mind. The order attached was placed on the 16th January and initially everything seemed fine, the payment process was efficient and I was given a delivery time of 7 working days but this very quickly changed to 10 to 20 working days. This delay initially caused no issue as I had placed the order far enough in advance.

The delivery arrived 11 days later but we were surprised to learn that there were lots of items missing(1 bath, 3 Toilets, Basins, Stands) from the order despite being provided a full list of the items ordered as a delivery note. No explanation had been provided by Nationwide as to why so many items were missing so we were left with no choice but to try and contact Nationwide ourselves. This is no easy task and it is clear their objective is to answer as few calls as possible and once answered we were left under no illusion that our enquiry was an annoyance to their customers services team and we would get our items once they were in, No apology, No explanation.....

No Explanation on why parts of our order were missing before or after the delivery date or any acceptance that this delay would cause us any issue or that there was any fault on their part.

Communication at last from nationwide!! The balance of our order was due on the 13th February...It arrived a day later but sadly the waste and overflow for Duravit 2nd Floor 1600 x 700 bath is missing. So again its back on the phone to Nationwide,. This time we have no joy and are left with no choice but to contact [name] at Duravit UK customer services for assistance . This along with an email to nationwide copying in their MD [name] seems to do the trick(I have attached all the correspondence) and we are promised the missing part. This arrives on March 4th...33 working days after our initial order!!

But wait.... Yes you guessed it...there is still another missing part to our order.

I am now completely fed up and write another email to Nationwide on the 5th March copying in the MD [name]...I have received no reply...no surprise!!

In all honesty I'm not sure who is to blame but I want the missing part to the order I placed on January 16th 54 days ago. I am extremely unhappy with the appalling service I have received from Nationwide and in all honesty I feel Duravit UK need to take responsibiltiy for the suppliers they sell to, as its very apparent they don't hold any stock. Nationwide Bathrooms are in a word incompetent. They have no concept whatsoever of customer service and are damaging to Duravits good reputation. During the build of this particular property we have had to order nearly £600,000 of products and goods. A significant part of that money was spent online and Nationwide's attitude and service levels are the worst we have received....ever.

I have attached pictures of the missing item which is a bath waste cover for the Duravit 2nd Floor 1600 x 700 bath as its clear Nationwide have no intention of honouring the order. I would therefore very much appreciate it if you could look into this matter for me. The missing part as I'm sure you know is a finishing detail to the bath in question.

difficult to get your money back and difficult to deal with

I spent £1977 on bathroom items and when the toilet arrived it was not the measurements as on the website, tried to return it and the process is very awkward, also when they received it back via a national carrier that I paid for they will not accept it because it the box was wet! and they say 1 day over the returns day i:e on the 8th day not the 7th!. Presently I am demanding my money back or will instigate a court summons. I will never trade with this company again, appalling customer service.

Don't touch Nationwide Bathrooms with a bargepole!

We purchased amongst other items, a toilet seat for our client. The toilet seat was delivered but is sub-standard and the screws have been packed and glued into the hinges - it looks terrible, it's not as described and it's definitely not of satisfactory quality.

Nationwide Bathrooms will not send us a replacement until their 'manufacturer's procedure' has been followed. Despite informing them that under the terms of the Sale of Goods Act, it is their responsibility to replace or refund their customer. We are not a customer of their manufacturer, and our client will not wait.

We have asked several times now for a replacement toilet seat and this is their response, 'We have to follow the manufacturers procedure as the product is theirs we are only an online retailer who orders goods in per order'.

They need to check out the Sale of Goods Act and they'll find that when the product is found to be faulty (particularly within 4 weeks of delivery), the company/manufacturer's policy is irrelevant - it is the law that matters.

SO BEWARE OF USING NATIONWIDE BATHROOMS!

I have informed them that they are in breach of the Sale of Goods Act and invited them to look it up on the internet if necessary, as they still maintain they have to 'follow procedure'.

We now have a very dissatisfied customer with a new toilet but no toilet seat. Nationwide Bathrooms are a very unscrupulous company and we will be taking legal action against them for breach of contract.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

So far, the whole process with Nationwide Bathrooms has been fantastic.
This place is a hidden gem! He was so helpful with the design choices for my bathroom.He has also been very patient and responsive to my questions via email- novice questions about measurements, proper fit for the sink in the countertop, etc.
I highly recommend them.

Worst company I've ever dealt with

I ordered some items from them. I didn't receive a call until 2 months later from a driver saying he was trying to deliver them, also claiming that he had tried twice before. It had been so long and was doing up my house so had lost track of the order. So, had purchased them elsewhere. I asked for a refund which was agreed to.

It is almost 3 months and I have still not received the refund!! Every time I ring, the call centre say that they refunds team is only email based and they have no idea. I managed to reach the owner of the company in one call - he said he would look into it and then heard nothing. I constantly leave messages for him and get nothing back. I will have no choice but to take legal action.

I have dealt with about 100 companies during my renovations and this is one of the worst.

Great items and great service!

I was very satisfied with their work. They were professional, reliable, kind and we had good communication throughout the process as well.
First of all, I love their website, it is very easy to navigate and they have plenty of interesting items to offer. I easily found some great products for my bathroom. I simply placed the order over the phone and received all the products within the agreed time.

I am very pleased with my purchase and I really recommend them!

absolutely terrible from concept to lack of finish.

AVOID. The polarised views on Trust pilot should speak volumes about how this company operates.

Having some reservations about ordering a bath over the internet, I Began by ringing customer services to confirm some questions about the bath before placing the order. I was met with incredulously argumentative and curse representative who I found patronising, despite it being evident that she understood little of my actual request. Despite my confusion between what they were advertising and the manufacturers description of the bath, she was insistent that it came with a bath panel included (unique to other sellers). so I place the order.

The order predictably went over the estimated delivery time (7-10 days) with an impressive lack of any response from NWB team. They were first made aware of the delay when I rang to ask where my order was.

When I chased the order they professionally avoided any attempt to meet their promise to call back or further my request .

it was left for me to chase the bath again 3 days later. The advisor expertly ignored and side-lined any concerns that I had about needing the bath on time, recognising the delay or even the inconvenience of having to chase a company for a simple order.

She then surpassed expectations by refusing to have a hypothetical conversation about when they may be able to deliver the bath if it were to actually be in stock. Especially useful for all those customers out there who enjoy the suspense of not knowing when their order will arrive, even if it were to be in stock !

I was assured it would come into stock and I would be advised of a delivery date. It came into stock and you guessed it...it was not as described, nor as confirmed by the sales advisor and it didn't have the promised bath panel.

By this point I was livid ! (not that they cared) and I cancelled the order. In true nationwide bathrooms style it also appears they may have overlooked my refund and im now facing the joy of chasing this with them,

If you love the potential of buying a misrepresented item, sold by a company who patently do not hold stock but believe in quoting delivery dates that are beyond their gift to honour then look no further, You can be assured of an appaulling disregard for customer service and satisfaction, apathy and an impressive lack of knowledge about their wares. unfortunately as I have now cancelled the order, I am only left wondering about their potential to avoid any responsibility for any after sales care.

The old saying avoid like the plague...? .Nationwide bathrooms makes be think that that's a bit unfair on the Plague.

UPDATE 15/11/13 - no answer to emails regarding overdue refund. Just had a very interesting conversation with credit card company. They enact a (VISA) right to take back the transaction directly from NWB's bank account if the goods are not delivered within 15 days, or are not supplied as described. Very useful for all those potentially still waiting for refunds from NWB. Have a chat with your CC company and avoid the predictable frustration of dealing direct with NWB. Section 75 rights are also worth a look at if you get into trouble.

Excellent range of products, helpful staff, simple website and great prices!

Nationwide Bathrooms supplied the majority of our new bathroom. I was always able to e-mail or phone and get helpful, specific advice to make sure we had the right kit installed. Delivery was fast and very flexible, The website was easy to use and find what we was looking for.

This was not the first bathroom I've had fitted, so I can compare to lots of other suppliers and can say for sure the experience with Nationwide Bathrooms was very good and the best customer service ive had.

Worst after sales/customer care possible

I purchased a toilet and seat from them and it was delivered on time. (hence 1 star). Unfortunately there was a chip on the seat so I informed them hoping for a replacement to be sent out. NO! I had to send them a photo which they had for 18 days before advising me to send the old seat back, buy a new one, then hopefully get a refund. They sent me a faulty seat and expected to buy a new one. UNREAL. How embarrassing to go back to the customer and take their seat away. This is not how you treat customers. I had a similar problem with a shower tray I bought from SPLASHDIRECT which was cracked. They asked for a photo too. Only with them I had a new shower tray 2 days later. Nationwide Bathrooms have not got a clue how to treat customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!

Do not use this company under any circumstances!!

Company sent faulty goods twice and has now failed to collect and refund after two promised pick up dates - no one ever showed up. Original order was in middle of July- 2.5 months later and no refund and still have the damaged items here waiting to be collected. No phone number for customer services only sales. E-mail response very slow if they respond at all. The reviews here make me doubt whether we will ever get our refund now- why are companies like this allowed to continue trading? Really puts me off buying over internet and will always make sure to read customer reviews first before buying form now on.. hugely disappointing!!!

Use this company at your peril!

I am bitterly disappointed with this company. I spoke to a very friendly woman who advised me on what I would need for my bathroom and I found her very helpful. My debit card was not accepted over the phone so I paid by paypal, splitting my order to ensure the speediest delivery as advised by her, and paid by paypal.
I subsequently cancelled the order for the bath as it was going to take too long after checking a couple of days after I placed the order this was still the case, the woman I spoke to said I was able to cancel as it was not even in stock, but had to do so online which I duly did and was informed said cancellation was accepted. I then bought the bath locally.
A couple of days later I received a phonecall informing me that my sink & unit and toilet would be delvered the following day which was within the expected time and therefore confirmed my builder to come. I even reiterated on the phone this was definetely the products I was expecting.
Low and behold the builder was present when the cancelled bath turned up! Yes, the bath that was going to take a further 10 days arrived within 3! Where was my sink & toilet then? Oh, wasn't going to be available for another 10 days...I felt completely hoodwinked and very mad as now paying for builder to twiddle his thumbs! Give the company their due they did arrange for a quicker delivery but not in time to ensure my builder had something to do and still took 5 days! If I had been told this from the start I would have bought locally hence the feeling of being hoodwinked into conitnuing the order. If they cannot stick to stipulated delivery times, dont advertise them!
Anyway,the sink & toilet finally arrived and were fitted by the builder. When I returned home from work, I noticed there was bubbling on the bow front of the wooden sink unit and the toilet seat had two darker spots on which did not look particulary appealing! I was then faced with the decision of whether to pay the builder to take it down, return it, only to pay for the builder to return to fit the new one. This didn't seem to be cost effective for me so I contacted the company and asked for a damage discount and they refused. In fact the converstations and emails I have had with them have been abrupt and rude and certainly does not put the customer first and therefore I certainly dont feel valued, they have got my money and that is all they care about. I explained that if I paid for a builder to take it down, waited for an exchange to arrive and paid the builder to put it back on, this would cost me even more and did not make any sense, therefore could they meet me half way and issue me a part refund and I just keep the damaged items (I dont see why I should have to pay full amount for faulty goods - would you?). They refused point blank and I am now having to put up with faulty goods.
I would NEVER EVER use this company again and wish I had read these reviews prior to associalting myself with them rather than believing the ones on their website. The fact that they have an overall poor rating speaks volumes. I dont normally leave reviews as I just dont have the time, but on the occasion, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't. I dont want anyone else having the same experience as I have had. I wish my items had been available at Victoria Plumb or Bathroom empire whose service and delivery communication was second to none.

We ordered our bathroom from Nationwide, the delivery was on time, the prices were the most competitive on the web, such an easy transaction. Would definitely use again and would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
