NowTV is a complete joke. While they have a fairly small selection of exclusive content, it's not remotely as good as they'd have you believe with their current TV advertising campaign. Given that instead of NowTV, you can have monthly Netflix AND Lovefilm subscriptions (with £4 change), there's absolutely zero reason to recommend it.
As far as my initial comment about how things are run, I feel that caution should be exercised with any promotions they are offering. I signed up for a promotion offering 800 free Microsoft Points for taking a trial, plus a further 1600 for taking a second month at a discounted rate of £8.90. The terms clearly stated that these points would be received within 30 days of the trial period ending.
As it turned out, the woefully inept moderators of NowTV's community forums have done a dreadful job of keeping their customers informed. When people were enquiring as to the whereabouts of their points, the team ended up telling bare faced lies about what the terns had said, just to get the enquiries off their back.
They then started posting updates, which boiled down to 'we haven't organised this promotion properly and now are falling behind'. They then gave us a date we'd be getting our points by. Around this time, they then gave a further update saying that the points would all have been posted by the end of the following week. I eventually received my points, a good three months after joining and a fortnight beyond the date stated in the terms.
Perhaps if they hadn't lied, I'd be a bit more forgiving. The fact of the matter is that once they had customers on board and (in some cases) cash in their pockets, they had no interest in fulfilling their end of the bargain on time. The responses they DO give on the forums might as well be autonomous, there is no personality to them. They are just playing it way too safe and instead of remaining professional, they just come across as robotic and annoying, preferring to simply copy and paste the same reply a million times over instead of understanding the circumstances of your situation.
As far as the service itself goes, it's passable at best. Picture quality is average at best, often with degradation and becoming incredibly blocky. I can confirm this is nothing to do with my connection which runs at a stable 20Mb down and 2.5Mb up (actual speeds achieved). For the money they are asking, the service from a technical standpoint is really not up to scratch. Premium prices should entail premium service, not what they're providing.
Were it not for the descriptions when selecting a star rating, I'd have given them just the one. However, there isn't malicious intent on their part, so I've gone with two. They are woefully inadequate both technically and from a customer service perspective though, so I'd advise people to steer well clear of this overpriced, shambolic service.
Signed up for free trial. Cancelled within the first month and theyhave taken a payment. I have accessed my account to make sure that i have done what i shoukd and i have no subscription on their site to watch anything. They only took the money 2 days ago. Waste oftime on free trial as you will still be charged after and not able to watch anything
Got not tv. it was ok for the first month when it was free but like anything ran out of things to watch. All of a sudden billing came along and for some reason even after cancelling my account i got billed twice for the service. been arguing for a long time now to get a refund. they say its your fault and will only communicate via web chat. Waste of time and money
It's a bit of a con really is you think about it, it's a service that pretty much shows everything on sky TV, if you already have sky movies you'll be paying for the service twice, plus it doesn't even stream to PS3 yet.
Waste of money.
I should note NOW TV is still in beta, my experience here may not reflect the experience you may have.

So by now I tried all major streaming sites (Netflix, LOVEFiLM)
and both of them have their strengths and weaknesses,
what I took from Netflix is great price and service doesn't mean great library full of movies to watch, while Netflix had the best rage of apps that actually work on the device you want unlike NOW TV with a retarded restrict to what apps it can run on (android), It didn't have any of the movies I fancied seeing after about a month of being with them.
Then I tried LOVEFiLM, it didn't even have HD streaming which was a deal breaker, it didn't even have an android app when I tried it, movie selection was old and for newer (not latest) releases you'd have to pay to rent.
But a month ago NOW TV tempted me to try them, while the price £15 a month was automatically a deal breaker, I was willing to give the trial a go and judge it on that instead.
Like I said above, restrict to what phones (I don't know if you even support tablets) are allowed to run your app when you pay £15 a month was even more of a deal breaker,
Your movie selection is just brilliant, by far the best out of all these services available right now,
I found just about every movie I wanted to watch, whereas with Netflix or LOVEFiLM it
had none of the movies I searched for.
Video quality is also great, not amazing but still nothing that would make me complain.
Sound quality however is another story, sound quality is just awful, out of netflix and LOVEFiLM, NOW TV by far had the worst sound quality, words can't explain how bad it is, just awful.
Moving on to the stability of the service,
again out of Netflix and LOVEFiLM, NOW TV had by far the worst stability of them all,
I couldn't sign into the xbox app for over 3 weeks, so I wasted that part of the trial doing nothing.
and when it finally allowed me to log in with just a week left of the service it was down when I wanted to watch the movie 4 days of that week, and I was left with 3 days of enjoying the trial, but even when it worked it would kick me from the movie and I would have to search to where I was when it failed.
What I took from the experience,
premium prices doesn't mean great service,
it doesn't mean great mobile apps,
it doesn't even mean great stability.
I'd be willing to give NOW TV another go in the future, perhaps when they finally fix their faults,
change the pricing or really work on their mobile apps so they at least work on the latest android phones and tablets, as well as the latest android OS.
For now, last thing i want to do is pay £15 for this service,
just a shame that 3 weeks of my trial were wasted.
