We booked and paid for the Thistle hotel last November in Glasgow for the forthcoming commonwealth Games. Months later Olotels contacted us to say the Hotel had reneged on the booking. Naturally as the CG's approached the rates in Glasgow have gone sky high and most hotels are already full. So far no satisfactory resolution. In my view, the Thistle Hotel should honour its original commitments and Olotels should insist on this as part of their contract. The Olotels call centre staff are excellent.
On the 26th January i tried to book a room for edinburgh, the website kept showing error so i started the process again when it showed error , after these errors i went on to a different site which worked and booked a nice hotel . A few days later i had to call from olotel if i still wanted my two rooms that i had booked using the website , i explained to them it had shown an error on the website and i already had booked a different room , they agreed to offer me a refund for the 2 charges , Still now they are alleging that only one payment went out as one was only a pre authorization payment , i have been told by my bank this morning that both amounts were withdrawn by olotel from my account, I have sent in a bank statement 2 times already showing the charges leaving my account , customer service then told me the other day they couldn't find a email containing it , i have now sent it in a third time, Do not use this website, they are refusing to pay my second refund , stay clear
Ik had een reservatie gemaakt in het Casa Moderna hotel Miami , een 4 sterren hotel met een mooie beoordeling op de vooraanstaande booking sites . Via Trivago kwam ik terecht bij Olotels.com ,de prijzen waren zeer aanvaardbaar en ik confirmeerde mijn boeking , met vooruitbetaling . Toen we arriveerden in het Casa Moderna bleek dat zij ondanks over mijn mobiel nummer en email adres te beschikken mij niet verwittigd hadden dat de directie beslist had het hotel te sluiten. De customer service van Olotels deed al het mogelijke en beloofde mij tussen te komen in de onderhandelingen met Casa Moderna om de meerprijs welke ik moest betalen voor een reservatie in het Conrad hotel terug te betalen , de vooruitbetaalde bedragen werden mij alvast integraal teruggestort , dus heel correct behandelt ,tot ik vanmorgen deze mail toe kreeg ,waarin mij gemeld word dat Casa moderna spijtig genoeg niet tussenkomt.maar dat zij zelf zullen tussen komen bij mijn volgende boeking met een korting van 10%. Als dit al geen zeer fijne manier is om dit probleem te benaderen dan weet ik niet wat je nog kan verwachten. Een dikke pluim voor het team van Olotels.com voor deze benadering. - Dear Mr........ Once an issue is brought to our attention, we do our best to act as advocate for our clients by attempting to obtain a refund for 194,66 Eur as difference for the invoice paid at Conrad Hotel. In this case,in spite of our efforts, the hotel Casa Moderna has refused to reduce the cost of your reservation or to offer any other form of compensation, and we have copied you their answer below: "My apologies, we had originally responded to this email. There is no further compensation for this reservation between the Casa Moderna and the Conrad. We had originally advised if the guest decided to confirm the Conrad ,we would not be responsible for the Conrad price difference. The guest had asked for both reservations to be cancelled." I had a great, if surprising, experience with Olotels. I was looking to book a last-minute trip to Disneyland, and found prices at a very desirable hotel across the street from Disneyland to be approximately 30% cheaper than I was finding anywhere else for that particular hotel, including other discount travel sites. I was suspicious that it may even be a scam (particularly when my initial payment didn't go through), though I found good reviews here on Trustpilot. I spoke with a few people in customer service about the situation, and they were extremely helpful in resolving the issue. After payment was completed, I called the hotel directly and the confirmed our reservation. We were extremely happy in the end with our hotel, and unlike many other discount website rooms, we even ended up with a great location, near the steps down to breakfast and with a direct view of Disneyland. I would absolutely use them again, and recommend them to others.
The only confirmation number I have is: KL8A1089. I did not receive any confirmation for the other supposed reservation (I have checked my Spam folder).
Further update -- I've emailed as requested. No response so far. _______ Update to Olotels -- I've already called the number provided on Olotels.com twice. Both people I spoke to said they could not guarantee that I would be refunded despite the fact that I never received any confirmation whatsoever that the first booking went through. When I asked to speak to a manager or higher supervisor, I was told there was no one else I could talk to. __________________________________________ I tried to make a reservation online. The website told me there was an error, and it sent me back to the reservation page. Because of the error, and because I received no confirmation of any kind via email or telephone, I tried the booking again, this time successfully.
This time the reservation went through. I called the hotel to confirm the reservation, and they told me I had TWO reservations! I called Olotels a few minutes ago. The woman told me she could not promise that we would not be charged twice. I explained to her that the website showed an error and that I never received ANY type of confirmation for the supposed first booking. She just said she couldn't guarantee anything and that we may get charged twice.
That is RIDICULOUS. This is Olotels' fault, and not ours. We should NOT get charged twice for something that was their fault. If this does not get fixed, I am definitely NEVER using this site again.
Net terug uit New York, eerlijkheidshalve was de aanloop minder mede door de negatieve feedback die ik tegen kwam. Hotel geboekt en wilde meteen bij het hotel informeren of alles in orde was, dit bleek dus niet het geval echter het hotel heeft ook de tijd nodig alle gegevens te verwerken. nadat dit alles gebeurd was zowel van Olotels als het hotel een bevestiging. Aangekomen bij het hotel (Hotel de Point New York) Kon ik en nog steeds geloven dat ik voor het bedrag wat ik ervoor betaalde zo'n luxe kreeg incl.. geweldig ontbijt en gratis shuttle bus elke dag heen en weer naar de metro. Ga zeker nog een keer terug en als Olotels beloofd niet alleen zelf contact met je opneemt om te boeken maar ook binnen een uur nadat je een probleem hebt er achter aan gaat zal de volgende boeking zeker weer bij Olotels zijn. I found the hotel (holiday inn express Brum)to be clean and very well presented. The rooms were a very good size and I would use again. Didn't get to take full advantage of facilities, I.e the tv and just general chilling as I stayed over after a wedding that went on into the early hours. Breakfast was lovely although if your after a full breakfast of bacon and tomatoes etc chucked in aswell then you will be disappointed, having said that I enjoyed what I had and thought that the breakfast area was spacious and clean. I would recommend to friends and family and would defiantly stay again.
