Having packed in rigid polystyrene and several layers of bubble wrap I mistakenly thought my package would survive, how wrong was I. The parcel arrived as if it had been deliberately thrown across the floor it was ripped and badly crushed. I tried to make a claim but was told the compensation guarantee didn't include breakages, so in effect it was worthless. This is a major organisation and not one of the cheap carriers but they act like one. Should you ever want to find a carrier that respects your property and delivers in good condition you certainly won't use Parcelforce.
Wanted a headlight conversion doing to my motorcycle, so packaged the unit up and sent it 150 miles via royal mail 1st class insured. Had fragile tape all around box but wasn't asked at all at the post office counter what was in the box to constitute "fragile" just what it was worth.Arrived safely, work was done and it was sent back via parcelforce by 48hr insured for 150 quid by the people who did work. Box arrived with me opened it up light had massive crack in the lens and damage to the box where it had been crushed, it had a box within a box both were filled with air cushion bags. Contacted sender he put claim in on my behalf, Parcelforce have just refused to pay compensation because in their terms and conditions certain items are exempt including car headlights and fragile items. So my question Is should their handling of clearly marked items which could easily fall into this category be 100% better because as a responscible business they know that they are refusing to cover a great proportion of this material should it get damaged? Or do they feel they have a blanket immunity and will not pay compensation anyway so their staff can throw every parcel around, crush boxes, pretty much do what they like without recourse.I' am now down about £200.00 with cost of the work undertaken and to buy a replacement light unit. But a claim for £150 refused will cost them dearly . Our company send 2250 parcels per week via parcelforce but they wont be for much longer as first thing Monday we will be going back to UPS even if it cost us more on principle.
I used this service after another courier company let me down. The guy who picked it up was lovely, polite and even singing as he picked my parcel up and told me I needed to hang onto the sticky label; whilst carefully placing the other part of the label on my parcel- not covering my own label or fragile label.
The tracking was good, updated quickly and so I knew where my parcel was. It was attempted to be delivered; however no one was in, so a card was left advising addresse to collect. Was collected easily and quickly.
The website is easy to use with lots of information.
I sent a parcel on the 5th February, The Tracking page has not updated since the 8th, Know one knows where my parcel is, i sent an Email on the 10th, they say 12 hours to reply but it took two days, i phoned them on the 12th, they said they'll get back to me in 4 hours, they do not, i phone them again on the 13th, they say they'll get back to me in 4 hours, they do not, I phone them AGAIN on the 14th and they give me the number for the International depot, i phone the depot and they're closed til the 17th!!!!! All this with a 6 DAYS Global Priority Service, i wouldn't mind if they actually had some customer service, they're are the worst company i have ever used for posting a parcel.
This is the first time I have had the misfortune to use GLS, the shambolic overseas arm of this so-called serivce. Unfortunately Parcelforce in the UK has handed over its overseas delivery to this outfit rather than the national mail services. Sent an item to Romania which GLS says it tried to deliver but the recipient was out. Did they leave a card or phone call or anything to say they had been and were holding the parcel? No. Now apparently the item is on its way back to the UK. When the recipient phoned them to complain all he got was snash and backchat. I now wait to see if I get the item back, but does anyone know about how to get a refund for cash spend on a non-existent 'service'?
Further to the review I submitted below, when I went to collect my parcel, it weighed 11.5kgs - over 20% of my 55kg body weight and far too heavy to carry (as my neck, shoulder and back muscles have told me). I don't drive, which is why I wanted the package delivered in the first place.
My local post office staff do not know the meaning of customer service and I was curtly waved in the direction of the parcels for collection and I had to rummage through (urn observed!!!) to find mine. I could very easily have walked off with someone else's package had I been so inclined. At least the weight of my package would have deterred anyone from stealing it!!
I have written to the supplier (of quality books) with whom I have spent thousands of pounds over the past 20 years, and informed them of the incident and told them why I will not be ordering any more books from them.
Why, oh why is there no opportunity to give a zero rating?
I was out when a parcel arrived. I had no idea any sort of attempt of delivery had been made (if indeed they had attempted it). I received a card in an envelope by royal mail the following informing me the parcel had been taken to my local post office.
I checked with neighbours and nobody had asked them to take delivery.
This has never happened to me before and I am deeply dissatisfied with the assumption that this method will work for me. I have received things from Parcel Force for years and this has never been an issue; if I have not been in, I can go online and order a redelivery at a time when I will be in.
The Post Office has poor opening hours and I will have to wait until the next Saturday morning I can walk there. I am going to write to the supplier to tell them I will not be ordering further goods from them because of the delivery service they use.
I paid for next day delivery. Waited in all day yesterday. Had text to say parcel would be delivered in 90 minutes. Tracking said I was carded at 17:44 last night. No card, no attempted delivery. Called this morning and was told to go and pick it up from the depot - 'it's not that far from Banstead to Mitcham'. What an amazing comment from a 'courier' company. Disgusting.
I ORDERED ONLINE FROM A COMPANY WHO USED PARCEL FORCE FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY , I ORDERED MY PRODUCT ON THURSDAY EXPECTED FRIDAY. I WAITED HOME ALL DAY FOR THE DELIVERY ON FRIDAY , BY 5PM THE PARCEL STILL HAD NO'T ARRIVED. I CHECKED ON THE COMPANIES TRACKING SERVICE ONLINE FOR AN UPDATE AND THE TRACKING STATUS SAID THE PARCEL WAS NOW HELD AT A POST OFFICE, NO ADDRESS OF THE POST OFFICE WAS GIVEN AND NO REASON AS TO WHY IT WAS DELIVERED THERE. I THEN CALLED THE LOCAL DEPOT AND THEY SAID THE DRIVER SENT IT TO A POST OFFICE THAT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MY HOUSE AND WHEN I ASKED WHY THEY DID NOT DELIVER IT THEY TOLD ME THE DRIVER MUST HAVE KNOCKED QUIETLY , I SAID IF THAT IS TRUE WHY DIDN'T HE LEAVE A CARD TO SAY HE HAS BEEN, WHICH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DID NOT ANSWER, FURTHER MORE MY HOME HAS A VERY LOAD DOOR BELL, MY LIVING ROOM IS AT THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE SO I WOULD HAVE SEEN THE DRIVER COME TO MY HOUSE, THE TRUTH WAS, HE NEVER CAME TO MY HOUSE, I DIDNT LEAVE MY HOUSE THAT DAY AND EVERYONE WHO CAME TO MY HOUSE I HEARD , IT IS CLEAR TO ME THE DRIVER JUST DECIDED TO SEND MY PARCEL TO A POST OFFICE THAT WAS FAR FROM MY HOME, THERE IS A POST OFFICE AT THE BOTTOM OF MY ROAD AS WELL IF HE REALLY DID COME TO MY HOME HE WOULD HAVE USED THAT POST OFFICE, THE COMPANY IS A JOKE, AND I WILL NOT USE A COMPANY WHO USES PARCEL FORCE AGAIN, I DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WHEN I USE ROYAL MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY. I ADVICE DO NOT USE THEM
Parcelforce used for a collection from the company I bought from. They booked collection for the day after I asked and I got a choice of AM or PM whereas I know from experience some don't give you anything or even a day. it would be handy if drop offs could be done byt he same driver but understand complex of logistics!
I just got delivered a pair of expensive studio speakers, i live on a second floor flat and just woke up after a night shift so he had to carry them up for me, i didnt even had time to get dressed. I heard him pushind the boxes and he actually dropped one of them... its says fragile all over the box!!! Its only 9kg per box so its not like their too heavy or anything he just got pissed of cuz he had to carry them up the stairs.
paid my custom charge, never had my parcel delivered. Though it is stating on their letter the parcel will be delivered the next day as soon as the custom charge is cleared. Called them a week later, been told my address is unable locate, which is obviously nonsense. They had the right address to send me the letter for custom charge, but not delivery. It is totally absurd..
I recently booked a ParcelForce drop-off through InterParcel. InterParcel failed to book the service. ParcelForce's Chris at the Quedgeley depot in Gloucester could not have been more helpful. He tracked down my recipient and called them of his own accord, called me back for updates and even bumped up my delivery service for free.
All of the original issues were the fault of InterParcel, and were resolved by Chris from ParcelForce. One of the best pieces of customer service i've experience in a long while.
AGAIN they have made no attempt to deliver boxes to house but just put them in garage and not even a card in letter box. Yes, my door bell does work and I was in the house. I have complained to Parcelforce about this in the past. At present I am not able to lift heavier items so now have to wait for someone to come and move them for me.
Incredibly slow, not an express delivery at all. 'Tracking' is useless, you cannot access website through the hyperlink as it does not load. Once you do access site after going through a search engine, you will find your parcel hasn't moved in 12 hours. Your parcel then has to reach you within 12 hours or for arguments sake, a little beyond 24 hours. Having paid for EXPRESS 24 hour delivery my parcel has NOT arrived and it has been 48 hours! Parcelforce is USELESS. Go with DPD or DHL, both are excellent in professionalism, express, tracking and overall service.
I have had many experiences of the very expensive Parcelforce. All of them terrible. I've watched them from my office just post a missed delivery card without even knocking the door! They claim then to have delivered the package to a local post office, who themselves have refused the delivery! Then a wild goose chase ensues with phone calls to an automated system, visits to Post Offices & parcel depots trying to find the package. Hopefully now they have to answer to share holders their service will improve. If not, they won't last 2 years. I use TNT, personable, reliable and reasonable prices.
We arranged a Saturday delivery for items for an important demo. We dropped off our parcel at 9am on the Friday and paid extra for the GUARANTEED Saturday delivery. Obviously it didn't turn up and noone was available after 5:30pm on the saturday to answer the phone. The sunday staff were useless. The monday staff (i had to explain the issue over and over) were useless There is no complaints team you can contact, just an online form and email, they rarely reply and when they do they have not read anything in the previous email. We lost £1000 in business and they offered us £9 compensation! Eventually got a call back from someone high up and got a full refund on postage plus an extra £18 on top, which doesn't cover the lost business, but restored my faith a little in parcelforce.
If you had to trust your life to Parcelforce you would probably end up dead sooner rather than later. They are truly one of the most disorganised and useless couriers I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
Regular drivers are few and far between, particularly from the joke that is the Bristol Hub and this results in failed deliveries and wasted days waiting in for parcels that never arrive. It causes a lot of frustration and disappointment too.
If I had my way These companies would be forced to pay compensation for a service they fail to deliver. It might just make them give a damn about the end customers they let down.
Parcelforce! Mediocrity at it best and like gravity, the force is VERY weak where this company are concerned. Don't rely on them if it REALLY matters.
I usually use fedex but on this occasion had to opt for parcelforce. After seeing the reviews on here (trustpilot) I got a little worried but there was no need! I use fedex because they are always on time and get my parcels delivered safely before 9pm. Parcelforce delivered at 8:10 with 0% damage/creases to the packing, so I rate them very good on this experience :)
