I have had many experiences of the very expensive Parcelforce. All of them terrible. I've watched them from my office just post a missed delivery card without even knocking the door! They claim then to have delivered the package to a local post office, who themselves have refused the delivery! Then a wild goose chase ensues with phone calls to an automated system, visits to Post Offices & parcel depots trying to find the package. Hopefully now they have to answer to share holders their service will improve. If not, they won't last 2 years. I use TNT, personable, reliable and reasonable prices.
We arranged a Saturday delivery for items for an important demo. We dropped off our parcel at 9am on the Friday and paid extra for the GUARANTEED Saturday delivery.
Obviously it didn't turn up and noone was available after 5:30pm on the saturday to answer the phone.
The sunday staff were useless.
The monday staff (i had to explain the issue over and over) were useless
There is no complaints team you can contact, just an online form and email, they rarely reply and when they do they have not read anything in the previous email.
We lost £1000 in business and they offered us £9 compensation!
If you had to trust your life to Parcelforce you would probably end up dead sooner rather than later. They are truly one of the most disorganised and useless couriers I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
Regular drivers are few and far between, particularly from the joke that is the Bristol Hub and this results in failed deliveries and wasted days waiting in for parcels that never arrive. It causes a lot of frustration and disappointment too.
If I had my way These companies would be forced to pay compensation for a service they fail to deliver. It might just make them give a damn about the end customers they let down.
Parcelforce! Mediocrity at it best and like gravity, the force is VERY weak where this company are concerned. Don't rely on them if it REALLY matters.
I usually use fedex but on this occasion had to opt for parcelforce. After seeing the reviews on here (trustpilot) I got a little worried but there was no need! I use fedex because they are always on time and get my parcels delivered safely before 9pm. Parcelforce delivered at 8:10 with 0% damage/creases to the packing, so I rate them very good on this experience :)
I have used Parcelforce multiple times to send items & often to receive items when I purchase things online. Parcelforce have been at least 24 hours late in almost EVERY case I've used them. Utterly useless & wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Completely dire service!!! I sit here now waiting on a parcel that was "garnteed" to arrive today - But it's over 400 miles away in London still... useless.
Ordered an item on Amazon Prime with delivery for Saturday 7th. Item gets dispatched, passed through the PF hub etc and arrives at the Poole depot where it was 'out for delivery' on Saturday morning at 6:45am.
I wait in all day, basically wasting my whole Saturday as tracking showed and order showed it was due for delivery that day. Of course nothing arrives, and even now on Sunday morning it's showing as out for delivery.
As nobody can be available during the coming week to accept delivery I needed the Saturday delivery I selected. Have had to contact Amazon and cancel the order due to Parcel Forces usual poor business practices, and the refund has now been processed. If it now attempts further deliveries ParcelFarce will only be wasting their own time and money.
Why Parcel Force bother with parcel tracking as it's clear reading reviews and facebook page that the information from the tracking page isn't factual and is just barefaced lies.
I wish Amazon would let you filter goods by carrier used, as I wouldn't ordered items that were going to use ParcelForce to 'deliver'. Thanks for wasting a whole day of my weekend waiting for your driver who obviously just didn't want to make the trip to my town to do a delivery.
1 star is too much for this shambles of a delivery company.
I ordered online with Pets at Home and i wish i never bothered! I had a bad experience last time i did, with parcelforce leaving it outside the front door for anyone to steal!
This time however, they never picked up the damn parcel! So now i have to wait for PAH to get in contact with them. I am SO angry! Will never ever shop with PAH online again. Better off going instore but i couldn't go this week so i had to order online.
Parcelforce, please just stop operating as a company. You suck!
These guys suck, sent a package to Australia for uncles birthday, sent it with the guarantee of it taking no more than 12 days. It arrived 2 months late and had missed my uncles birthday by 6 weeks. Pathetic company, use any other courier apart from these people
Phoned them up for a quotation on global courier service on their 0845 number from a mobile phone, which is chargeable, since I cannot get a quote from their non-user friendly website. The woman I spoke to was very rude, incompetent and accused me calling her a liar. She repeatedly told me to use their website, despite I told her their website is not giving me a quotation. So what is the point of having their customer service hotline number if they stress to use their website instead! Finally, the very rude woman hanged up on my chargeable call. I will not use Parcelforce ever again in the future and will advise friends and family to avoid their poor customer service.
On Saturday 8th June 2013 I ordered some food grade silicone grease as I was replacing seals in my coffee machine, delivery by Tuesday 11th June 2013 by Parcelforce.
Tuesday arrived, no delivery, odd, it only had to come approximately 37 miles from Leicester, Wednesday, and still no delivery which was frustrating because I had received a harmonica toolkit from Dresden Germany that I ordered 20 minutes after the grease and that had come over 830 miles, 4 days.
Thursday 13th June 2013 still no delivery I was just about to phone the retailer when the Postman delivered 2 letters one from Parcelforce. Expecting some sort of advertising instead of binning it I opened it to find a “We called to deliver/collect your parcel” card with a tracking number and the address of the Post Office where it had been left on Tuesday 11th June.
Being disabled I would not have been out, I haven’t been out for nearly 3 weeks, secondly I have been expecting the delivery of 5 items this week so I have not had even the radio or TV on and sitting where I do I have a view of the driveway and the road outside and finally if the Pacelforce driver had actually been to the house then the “We called to deliver/collect your parcel” card would have been put through the letterbox and not delivered by Royal Mail 2 days later.
I now have the prospect of either a 7 mile (round trip) walk which would be impossible for me to accomplish, book a taxi which I can ill afford, or go into Nottingham by bus and get another bus back out to the vicinity of the post Office and then back again making a round trip of 24 miles and a 21/2 hr – 3 hour journey. I have already paid £4.95 for this to be delivered to my house but I’m in this predicament because a Parcelforce driver was frightened of finishing later than he wanted or just could not be bothered, either way he did not do what he was employed or paid to do.
Are Parcelforce now competing with Yodel for the position of worst delivery company in the British Isles?
I ordered for a rucksack from thedoorshop which was delivered to me via parcelforce. I was scared after reading the reviews here, but my parcel was delivered to me in time and without any hassles whatsoever. Their website provide accurate tracking of the consignment. I am happy with their service.
I wondered what had happened to my parcel so I tracked it online...it told me that they had attempted to deliver and had left me a card...NO CARD, this is often the case with lazy delivery people as my post box for my flat is the other side of the building from my buzzer. So anyway, I find their number and ring, only to be met with the most SHONKY automated call system giving me a hundred options, none of which result in talking to a human being and all of them requiring the delivery card...which I don't have! But I appear to have rearranged delivery for the next day.
They finally get back to my email and apologise for not leaving a card, and tell me it cannot be redelivered and is at my local post office, but I don't have a card to show them...their advice is to ask the post office to "ring them to confirm"...yeaaah, have they ever been to a Post Office?!
All this dismay, anger and disgust could have been rectified by either redelivering the next day, leaving the dratted card OR if all else failed - having the ability to talk to a human and calm the irate customer down...common sense I would have said.
I have had to wait in 2 full days for a parcel which never turned up,and will probably not come till next week, which I doubt, because now I am asking for my money back from the company that use these useless dick-heads.
They are the worst company you could ever use.
I really hope they go bankrupt and throw the lot of them on the scrap heap, that is what they deserve the way they treat customers ,they deserve utter contempt as a delivery company, you would be quicker getting in your car and delivering parcels yourself.
I have had stuff come from china quicker than what these knobs can deliver.
IT GETS BETTER!.
They have now stated that they attempted delivery tonight at 18.44pm, i wonder if they said this because we said we would complain to the supplier.
the only problem is , the fools should have known that i have constant cctv recording 24 hours a day, guess what , the invisible delivery driver must have come, because i cannot see any van or person coming to my house at that time.
LIARS AND FOOLS, BEWARE , THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT YOU.
here is the proof
The first thing to understand is that parcelforce are a budget company, this benefits most people as other couriers are more than twice the price. We use both parcel force and yodel and there are good and bad points about them both. So I have put this on both the yodel and parcel force reviews.
I have found that most complaints about couriers in general are them not re-delivering efficiently or even at all...Well how expensive do you think it must be for them to keep re-attempting deliveries.
I do think suppliers should give people a choice..for example Yodal\parcel force delivery for £6.99 or UPS for £12.99 etc.
The upshot is....you get what you pay for!!! parcelforce deliver 90% of our parcels without issue the remaining 10% are often effectively the customers fault...i.e not being in, or not answering doors etc. Sure they screw up but there budget service is not a guaranteed timed service just estimated so don't blame them for being late..they clearly say they can be late......if you are not in to receive the item..don't blame them!!! re-delivering to you is a loss to them so don't expect a perfect re-delivery service. work with couriers.....follow the tracking..be in when they say the are gooing to deliver...put a sign on your door to say you are in just in case you are indisposed or you don't hear them knock! these little things help.
I am not saying they are perfect...far from it, they can be a real pain in the neck for us....but virtually all budget couriers are the same!!
I've never really felt compelled to write a bad review before regarding a service, usually because it's a one off, and the company sort out whatever the problem is in the first place. Not so in this case. I've had consistently bad service across a number of packages sent to me through using the Parcelforce 'service'.
Orders have consistently arrived late, and their telephone customer service is shockingly incompetent - polite, even apologetic, but completely out of the loop and unhelpful because of this. You can't help me if you don't have the information I need, and I don't understand why they don't have that information.
For example (my latest woe). One of my suppliers in the US sends me a small package via priority USPS (US state postal service) on December 7th, which is transferred over to Parcelforce for delivery in the UK. USPS state a delivery time-scale of 6 - 10 working days. Fair enough, it's got a long way to go, and it's the busy Christmas period.
The package takes around 5 working days to get through the US system and arrives in the UK on the 14th. It is then passed to Parcelforce to deliver it in the UK via a 48 hour priority service. Discounting Christmas and a few extra's from the working days, it has now been at least 12 working days since the package arrived in the UK. It's been at the 'international hub' for that time period 'awaiting customs charging'. I've had my 4th telephone conversation with Parcelforce today, and I'm still in the dark. They know what the customs charges are, they know where the package is - but they won't let me pay the charges until it's at my local depot, and they won't send it to me. Ridiculous. I thought I would wait until after Christmas to chase it up - to give them time to sort out after the busy holiday period. But it's now beyond a joke.
1st Telephone 2nd Jan - It's at the Int. Hub, the customs charges are £XX - but you can't pay them until it's at your local depot. It should be released tomorrow.
2nd Telephone 3rd Jan - It's been released from the Int. Hub and should be with your local depot this afternoon, if you give them a call after 2.00pm the system should be updated and you will be able to pay the customs charges and collect the package the day after.
3rd Telephone 3rd Jan (Late afternoon) - Nope, we don't have it, it's still at the Int. Hub. Sorry.
4th Telephone 4th Jan - It's at the Int. Hub, the customs charges are £XX - but you can't pay them until it's at your local depot. It should be with the local depot by the 7th.
It's simple incompetence. All I need is the truth - how long the package will take, and when I'm going to get it. I can then inform my customers of the delay and everyone is happy. At the moment I'm still in the dark, I have no idea when the package will arrive and it's damaging my reputation as a supplier. Thank you Parcelforce, for not being able to deliver the explicit service that you are designed around and paid to do.
How is it that FEDEX and UPS can get a package to me quickly, efficiently and with very little effort and Parcelforce cannot do it? It astounds me that company's like this survive when the benchmark has been set so much higher by other companies. UPS can get a package to me from the US in 2 - 3 days, and I can pay the customs charges with the driver, easy and simply. Parcelforce take 10 days processing it through customs - won't let you pay the charges (even when they know what they are) because 'it would cause a glitch in the system'. Instead, they force you to wait until the package is with their local depot, who then send you LETTER, to tell you about the customs charges. It's a joke. I'm surprised they don't telegram it through, I mean seriously. There are much better ways of dealing with these issues (as demonstrated by other companies), and yet they seem stuck in the dark ages. Pull you finger our Parcelforce or you will be left behind.
In short, they are unbelievably slow, unhelpful and not much cheaper than their competitors who are significantly better. Avoid at all costs. I will explicitly forbid my suppliers from using Parcelforce in the future. I'm done with them.
Sending bags home for Christmas holidays through another company that uses PF would seem relatively straight forward. Well, it ain't. Collection was booked for a certain day which no time indication was given, between 9-6 they said. Which somehow I missed despite being in all day. I will accept the fact that I missed the driver ringing my doorbell that time, fair enough. So I phone for a rebook of collection, after 15 mins on the phone, they say leave your number and I'll call back shortly. 1 hour later, I call back, a tad irritated but still ask again politely for a rebook of collection. I am told that they cannot find my tracking number and I get put on hold for 10 minutes listening to the jolly Xmas tunes they have in awful quality. I hang up, 10mins on hold? Yes I understand that it is Christmas, of course they are going to be busy, I feel for those in customer support, sounds like an awful job, but nonetheless you are getting paid to do it, so do it. I ring back, this time someone must have been upset that they were in over the Christmas rush, they were brief and impolite, to which I got put on hold again for about 8 mins. Well merry Xmas to you too. I hang up again, I refuse to wait any longer when calling off a mobile. So now the fuse is a little shorter, BP a little higher, Christmas spirit fading. Last time. I call. Give the relevant details as calmly and politely as possible, to be met with "your collection has been booked within the next 1 or 2 working days, bye." What?!?!? I ain't ringing again. I'll wait it out, one bag if clothes for the Xmas hols at home, 2 days before my flight, I'll wait. 2 days spent waiting around the house within earshot of the door. Not a zip. No ring, knock, card slip to say "I've been n gone mate but you weren't in merry Xmas." It's only £20, if its worth that much to you to dissatisfy your customers then you can just bloody keep it.
Ordered a laptop to be delivered in Portugal.
Parcelforce handed the parcelforce over to GLS who are the worst courier service in Portugal, No GPS , don't phone you and simply put "insufficient address" on the tracking and store the parcel in the warehouse till you get in touch. They then take 4 to 5 days to actually deliver.
This is the second time this has happened to me !
1. October - Sent a 2kg parcel to St Petersburg, Russia by Global Priority at a cost of £49.20 on 10th October 2012 and they did not receive my parcel until 26th October 2012 as my friend contacted me on the day they got it as i told them i was worried because the tracking infomation was a load of rubbish and told me nothing apart from its in London, The tracking info never changed and still show London once it was collected in St petersburg, Russia.
Infomation from parcelforce is it should take 6days (see below) but it had taken 16 days, so angry as I paid extra for this service.
Area Delivery PO Box
130100 Moscow 5 days Yes
All regional cities of Moscow, 603000 Nizhnii Novgorod, 170000 Tver, 190000 St. Petersburg. 6 days Yes
AREA1 11 days Yes
I also made a mistake by trusting customer services to give them a second chance, Never again, See other review for December!! Never again!!!I
2. December - paid £52.95 to send a parcel abroad to Russia to get there by Boxing day as i had just missed the deadline for getting gifts by Christmas day!
Parcel sent on 19th December 2012 and it has been sat at the London Heathrow since 21th December 2012 at 10:41am therefore my item is not going to get there on time, Which is why I paid the extra money in the first place.
I contacted customer services who were very helpful and have phoned me back twice but no one knows why my parcel is still showing on the tracking infomation as in LHR and to make matters worse, they cannot tell me where my parcel is. What is the point in paying for Global express to track my item and get it there on time when the tracking info is a load of rubbish and my item is not going to get there by the so-called guaranteed date.
Customer services said the parcel should arrive by 27th December 2012 but when I ask is my parcel still in London, they could not answer me or tell me where my parcel is.
Since I contacted parcelforce my tracking info has now been updated which looks like they have just made it up as it now says "23:20 LHR Received at destination" Well my parcel should be in Russia but it says Location LHR (London Heathrow) and if my parcel really is in Russia , the time there is + 4 hours than Great Britain so that is impossible because its 18:20 in GB +4hrs = 22:20, I now think they are just making up the tracking information and no clue where my item is!!!
Tracking Info- Date Time Location Tracking Event
24-12-2012 23:20 LHR Received in destination country
21-12-2012 10:41 LHR Forwarded to delivery depot
21-12-2012 07:36 STN Received in destination country
20-12-2012 20:34 STN Forwarded to delivery depot
20-12-2012 19:55 STN Forwarded to delivery depot
20-12-2012 19:34 STN Left origin country
20-12-2012 19:32 STN Forwarded for export
20-12-2012 13:07 Liverpool South Depot Collected from customer
19-12-2012 17:35 WDM Online
not a clue why they would send my item to standsted and the tracking info also says "Received at Destination country " twice which is also mission impossible. Never again, will I send anything through these cowboys and I wish I had lOOked at the reviews here first!
No more chances left !!! TWO is enough!!!
Update- Last Tracking info show still in London on 25/12/2012 with Received in destination country and customer services told me it will be there by 27th December 2012 which is today, 4 hours ahead in Russia and contacted my friend, !!!! shock !horror ! GASP!!! NOT RECEIVED IT!!!
Update- 31th December 10:37 My Item still not delivered after 12days and I contacted the MD office, The person I spoke to was more concerned about how I got their number as I should not have been given it by cusomer services, I told her the problems I'm having and she was not listening and tried to fob me off and give me a complaints phone number to ring, I refused and kept talking so she took my Tracking number and tried to put the blame onto the Russian Customs even though I had already been told my parcel had left russian customs on 25th December(this is not xmas day in Russia, Holiday, Xmas day 7th Dec In Russa) and passed onto their parnters which are Fedex. She then just fobbed me off as this seems to be Parcefarce's policy and got me to phone another number, So now I have contacted them 6 times and they have now said they will find my parcel and phone me back, I rang at 10:37 31th December and still no phone call!!
UPDATE - Item Delivered on 5th January. Parcelforces excuse was FEDEX Russia had only half of the address because FEDEX had wriiten over the full address I had given them in Russian and in English!!
paid 52.95 for Express 1kg parcel which was suppose to be delivered by the Guaranteed time of a week and it has taken lots of phone calls , chasing them, and it was delivered in 16 days!
Tracking Info still showsl in London and being processed , no signature that it was received in Russia on the 5th Jan 2013, WHATS THE POINT IN HAVING A TRACKING SERVICE PARCELFORCE?? IF YOU CAN'T USE IT !!
I rang up the Milton Keynes depot at round 12:00 to find out some information about a re delivery, just to confirm a date. During the conversation i said ''ok thanks i just wanted to confirm the new delivery time'' the female customer service agent then replies to me in a very disrespectful manner '' well now you know''. I then said excuse me i don't think there's a reason for you to talk to me like that, but before i could finish the sentence she hang up on me. This is not the customer service people should expect when calling to find out information nor is it the behavior of an good employee to hang up when i bring this to their attention. If this is the level of service that parcelforce provides then i dont think i will be using your service in the future especially because a paying customer shouldnt have to treated in that manner. It says that you record calls for training purposes and i think that specific female phone agent needs to understand what customer service means. One last thing the drivers handwriting is really bad and i can't make out of hes wrote 5 or an S or a B, or if 1 is an I if this was clear i wouldn't have need to phone the depot and wouldn't have been spoken to like that.
I have had delveries from onLine retailers and eBay sellers and of all teh delivery services used (teh now defunct Home delivery netweork) Yodel, CityLink, UPS, myHermes & ParcelForce by far the most reliable is ParcelForce. A while back their service was poor and it coudl rightly have been called ParcelFarce. However the past couple of years they seem to have really made an effort to get their act together and it is showing. For sending packages as well I always use them. I wouldn't touch myMermes with a barge pole to sending anything.
For instance recently I had to get my daughter to send a package with some urgently needed printer parts. ParcelForce had different options nad the 48 hour guranteed delivery was what was needed. More expensive than other options but worth every penny. Got there when promised, really informative tracking.
Incoming packages always delivered promptly and courteos professional staff who seem to take a pride in their job. Dont bother with the el-cheapo other options - in my experience its worth paying out the extra for a good, reliable servive (and with good customer service if you ever need it)
Not a single delivery on time yet.
Always one of the following scenarios:
1. Leaving notice card without actually ringing the bell
2. Not deliver at all, then customer service pretending they do not know anything
3. Pretend that delivery address was badly given
They are widespread, so they must do significant damage to economy.
Avoid at all costs.
A few weeks ago I returned home to find a "we tried to deliver" card in the door and the front gate wide open. I went on-line and scheduled a redelivery when I would be home but no delivery attempt was made so it was a wasted day. Various attempts to email receive only standard useless replies and I am still waiting for my delivery.
Seemingly Parcelforce expect people to collect parcels from their depot which in my case is about 1 1/2 hour journey (one way) - if you have means to get there. They do give options such as paying £1 to have the parcel delivered to the nearest post office but as I don't work near where we live, this is no option as its always closed when we are around. Theres also an option to pay around £6 to deliver elsewhere but why should I pay £6 when I don't know what the parcel is or even who it's from? (It could just be some junkmail maybe)
I don't think parcelforce have ANY idea about customer service - they seem to deliver only to people who are at home weekdays. I would NEVER choose to use parcelforce unless they buck up their ideas and get real!
Having used Parcelforce for the first time over 5 months ago now and getting a great service, I have used them a number of times since. The initial service was not a fluke as they have continued to consistently deliver a service that has been perfect in every way. Nice to see that some larger companies are sticking with good core values in customer service. :-)
Thank you for an easy and professional experience. From the outset the booking process was very clear and easy giving assurance of a guaranteed next day service. A tracking number was issued and I was able to follow this throughout the collection / delivery process. And they did what they said they would on time. Very slightly dearer than the previous courier I used but then! ..........
Previous courier was parcel2go - they failed to collect twice, had diabolical customer service, did not return calls, spent hours of wasted time trying to resolved - Take good advice - cut out the middle man and go straight to Parcelforce - it is less costly in the long run and an infinitely superior service
Thank you once again
My supplier had sent an order by Yodel that should have been delivered on Friday.
Due to Yodel being utterly incompetant and useless, i rang my supplier at 4pm on Friday and they told me they would resend the parcel by Parcelforce for Monday.
I wasnt sure whether they meant they would send the parcel on Monday or it would be delivered on Monday (due to it being late on Friday afternoon when i rang) either way i didnt mind because anything would be better than the lack of service from Yodel.
Well, 10am Monday morning parcelforce delivered by order. The driver was pleasant and proffessional.
Well done to both my supplier and Parcelforce for being effecient and for clearing up Yodels sloppy mess (again)
