I have recently purchased a bike on Pauls Cycles website and I'm over the moon.
Service is first class. I have accidentally ordered M/L frame instead of Medium doh! My bike was all setup and packed when I called them (next day), Will on phone was very friendly and without additional cost he has changed the size for me. You can't beat their prices full stop! I can't stand negative comments on-line (possibly jealous/greedy LBS owners). I can take my bike to any dealer if anything goes wrong anyway, or if you fortunate enough to live next to Pauls Cycles bike shop (Yes they have proper shop it is not an online business) you can take it there. I bought my first bike in my local bike shop (Southampton) and because I wasn't spending thousands they couldn't care less. Bike fit, well (it cost £100-£200 tops) if you can save £600+ you can afford it anyway. Just to clarify you still have to pay for a labor in your LBS even if your bike is under warranty!!!
I have bought 2 Cannondales from this company and both times have been more than pleased with the service and product. The latest was a new road bike which was nearly £2000 off list price and hundreds of pounds cheaper than Evans cycles sale price. I requested delivery on a specified day and they obliged even with just a few days notice arriving at lunch time giving me enough time to unpack it and go for a spin on my day off. The packaging is top quality with loads of extra bubble wrap and loose parts cable tied and a few instructions on assembly. The bike went together easily with only an allen key set required and could be done by anyone with a bit of common sense. The only adjustment needed was the chain spotter which was rubbing slightly everything else was perfect and needed no adjustments before riding.
Just finished setting my new mtb up after ordering it yesterday!!! I purchased a Scott scale 40 at a great price for the spec,at 9.45 on Thursday morning, it was with me today(Friday) at 3.00. Bike was well packaged, as was all the added extras I bought, brilliant delivery and a quick hassle free service will definetly use again.
After owning a Boardman Hybrid for a year I decided it was time for a road bike, after spending many weeks researching different brands of bike, and due to my limited budget I decided on a Canondale Supersix Ultegra Di2, Paul's Cycles were selling this bike discounted from £3600 to £2400 for last years 2012 model, phone call made to secure the bike and arrange a time for collection, after traveling to Dereham to pickup the bike it transpires the 2012 model was not available however a current 2013 model was offered at the same price, the bike was ready for me to inspect, Paul himself went through all the features and set the bike up for me, and even helped load the bike in the car. Overall the service I received from Paul's Cycles was first class & friendly. Would defiantly recommend.
I bought A Giant XCT Composite 3 from Pauls Cycles a week ago. Everywhere else it was about £1150. Pauls Cycles were selling it at £929 - a substantial saving. Most reviews were good about them so I placed the order (using the 6 month interest free finance option). I received the contact details from the finance company almost straight away, but no confirmation from Pauls Cycles. So I called the 2 days after I placed the order and they said they definitely had received the order, but were unusually busy. I needn't have worried, the bike appeared 2 days later (within 3 working days) and after setting the handle bars, the pedals and the seat up, the bike was all in perfect working order. Well done Pauls and thank you!
I've was mulling over and researching mountain bikes for about 4 weeks....how times have changed....last time I bought a bike was about 18 years ago and gone are the days of bike shops only stocking a small selection....there's literally hundreds of bikes out there with varying specs for prices.....I did my homework and research and set my my mind on the European manufacturer "CUBE" ...superb bikes and blinding spec for the money...then my budget kept on creeping up...initially £600...I topped out at £900...I was initially wanting just a Cube LTD....then I came across Pauls Cycles who were offering the Top of the range LTD SL in a 22" frame at an unbelievable price...I went to my LBS and got advice as all sites and forums said that I'd be a 20" frame ...I'm 6' 1" tall and inside leg of 35"....I was told I'd be safe on a 22" and tried a few cubes out for size..22" was a perfect fit..I went home and ordered the bike....I wanted the 2012 model due to spec and colorway and also because I couldn't afford the £1300 price tag for the new model...there's barely any difference in the spec between the latest and the 2012 version...I got the bike about £450 less than the price the other bike shops were offering it..I put the order in on Thursday afternoon....the bike arrived Monday morning...well packed...I was expecting minor marks on the bike due to transport but the bike arrived unblemished and immaculate...just built it up...looks awesome...just need to get a rear mudguard and chain stay protector and some decent pedals and we are there....one previous comment mentioned their phone manner is abrupt and rude...you must have caught them on a busy day...very polite and efficient...a great shopping experience...will use again in the future...
Purchased A 2012 Cube LTD SL on Thursday 25/04/12 :)
I am fully satisfied with the service I got from Paulscycles!
I live in Denmark so I contacted a freight company(DSV) my self to pick up the bike, but that was no problem. Paulscycles was very helpful in arranging it all. They were quick to answer when I sent them emails with questions. - and that is something i appreciate very much.
i ordered a discounted bike about 1 month ago and had to wait for my cyclescheme certificate pauls cycles told me exactly what i needed to do in the way of redeeming my certificate and what the bike would cost including shipping.I received the bike within a week of posting them the cert and id so 5 stars is well deserved simon wright
When I was looking for a bike to replace 2 I'd had stolen, price was a big factor in my choice. Paul's didnt have a wonderful rating but their deals immediately caught my attention. I ended up buying a bike from them I wasnt looking for because I thought I'd never afford one(with me so far?). This was all down to Paul's incredibly good deals. It ended up being almost £600 cheaper than most other stockists and a full 300 quid cheaper than the bike I actually wanted. So thanks to Pauls, I now have a bike I didnt want(but am chuffed!). Staff were fine when I spoke to them and even gave me the 2012 model because the 2011 was out of stock after a little telephone call-oh, and for the same price.Communication therefore was great and delivery -well, I ordered it 7.15am one morning and it arrived just after lunch the next(and no, I hadnt asked for next day delivery). Bike was expertly packed and arrived in A1 condition. Cant wait for my first spin! Thanks guys.
I purchased a well priced Giant XTC3 from this crowd and received very good service. One of the guys was a little abrupt on the phone, but then so would I well some wally ordered a bike the wrong size and wanted to return it! Needless to say, they were slick at receiving my returned bike and sending a replacement out without a hitch. A pleasure to deal with.
