I sent an iPhone 4 32gb to Payzoola on the basis that they were offering the most money of any mobile phone recycler at the time - £134 (post-iPhone 5 release). This sum was offered on the basis that my phone was in good condition (i.e. minor wear and tear). There were a few minor scratches on the screen as a result of the phone being two years old and on the rear of the phone but I was confident that my phone still fell within this bracket.
I received a notification on my account a few days after posting the phone, which stated that my phone had been assessed and as there were a few scratches on the screen and "the charger doesn't fit as snugly as it should do", Payzoola could only offer me £100. £20 lower even than the "fair condition" price which was originally offered (£120). I imagine Payzoola were expecting me to accept their offer for the sake of convenience, but out of principle I asked for my phone to be returned by special delivery so that I could sell to another recycler. I consider my experience with Payzoola to be a waste of both my time and theirs and I would certainly not recommend them on the basis of my experience. To imply my phone is less than fair condition is frankly ridiculous, and I have no option but to conclude that this is a company tactic to bring customers to them in the first place and then drop the price dramatically when they have the customer on the hook.
I should add that the best part of the service was the return of my phone, which was done immediately as I requested and by special delivery.
My phone will be going off to Mazuma (who are offering £115) instead.
