THE FIRST ATTEMPTED DELIVERY OF MY PARCEL, I AM IN THE APARTMENT ALL DAY AND DIDN'T EVEN HEAR THE DOORBELL RING OR ANY KNOCK ON THE DOOR. JUST FOUND A SLIP OF PAPER THAT SAYS FIRST ATTEMPT IN DELIVERY WAS MADE. PERSONALLY, I DIDN'T SEE ANY EFFORT FROM THE DELIVERY MAN TO EVEN CONFIRM IF THERE'S ANYONE IN THE RESIDENCE TO RECEIVE THE PACKAGE- HE CAME AND WENT AS FAST AND AS SILENT AS A MOUSE!
I MADE ARRANGEMENTS RIGHT AWAY WTH CUSTOMER SERVICE TO HAVE IT RE-DELIVERED THE DAY AFTER THE NEXT WITH SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS AND A PREFERRED TIME. AND AGAIN, I WAITED FOR NOTHING, ANOTHER WASTED DAY BECAUSE OF UNRELIABLE SERVICE. CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN AND FOUND OUT IT NEVER LEFT THE DEPOT AND HE DIDN'T KNOW WHY. THE PACKAGE CONTAINS MEDICINE AND HEALTH SUPPLIES THAT ARE VERY MUCH NEEDED. SO DISAPPOINTED.
I can fairly say that I've never been across such an OUTSTANDING BAD PERFORMANCE !!! I really wonder how can an organization miss the chance of having a single professional employee .????? !!!!!. starting from the customer service agents to whomever claim that they are Managers !!!! I have been into a nightmare since the first moment dealing with them ... Arranging for pick up was a big mess , sorting error led to my parcel lying in Quebec instead of Nova Scotia for 2 days , 1 more day delay of delivery due to weather conditions , and no one knows what excuse they will come up with tomorrow !!!!!! Needless to mention that I already missed the deadline of submitting the documents !! It is useless to file a complain as no one will get back to you and if you try to follow up yourself using the reference number , you will be surprised that even the manager you spoke to didn't bother to write anything on the system !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have noted all the names but just prefers not to mention it in public . If you are looking for a reliable courier to deal with my honest advice is NEVER TO CONSIDER them.
I work for a company that ships regularly between several rural locations. Most companies have limited delivery days or use contractors, Canada Post doesn't do door to door delivery. Purolator is the only company that will offer next day shipping from our address, never had an issue.
I personally work in the customer service field as an IT tech, for a company in the Health Services sector and deal with a varying skill range of computer users. That being said, my job requires patience, empathy and the ability to think before you speak, and I very much do understand frustration from time to time. Coming from where I stand, I don't take well to ignorance, rudeness or really any arrogant behavior. The company I work for uses Purolator for a lot of our business needs. Anyways, so three of us were up front at our main reception when the Purolator guy arrives, he doesn't say a word, he just stands there. My co-worker gathered two packages and handed them to him, and told him there was one more package and she would be right back. When she returned, that's when it started. He shook his head and told her, and these were his exact words "this is all wrong, how do you have the same shipping labels for three different packages...no this is wrong, you can't do this" My co-worker wasn't the one who created the shipping labels so she messaged the person who did. So she came to the front and the guy starts in to her about how this isn't right and she does this all the time, so she tells him that the website greys out the box where she's supposed to enter the number of parcels, but it does allow her to enter the weight, so she figured she could bundle all the packages in to one bag and enter it in as 1 item. He then replies well you then need training on how to use the software because you don't know how to use it right. Ok, so granted it might not be the right way to be shipping an item, and she might be doing it wrong, but WHO is this guy, and where does he get off telling HER she needs training? What kind of service is that, I was in shock when this happened and I was expecting him to start laughing, because I thought he was joking. After the reaming subsided a little my co-worker told him she would get a bag then and put all the packages in to said bag, he said "I don't have time for you to do that, I have other places to go to, you know" He summarily grabbed ONE package and left. He was rude, crass and entirely unprofessional. If you read Purolators "Value's" http://www.purolator.com/assets/pdf/corporate-governance/code_of_business_conduct_and_ethics.pdf By opening his mouth he went against EVERYTHING Purolator stands for, or claims to anyways. If I talked to one of my co-workers the way he did, let alone one of our clients, I'm pretty sure I'd have some serious explaining to do. I was in utter disbelief that I'd just witnessed this, after that my co-worker mentioned he'd been an idiot before in a previous encounter with this guy, but she'd just figured he'd had a bad day and let it slide. I for one was really surprised and totally unimpressed. I personally wouldn't use Purolator again and now my wife won't either, nothing spreads faster in circles than news like this family, friends, co-workers you get the idea. Whether anything comes from this, or Puralator even cares I really have my doubts, but we'll see. I figure spreading the word out there is really the next best thing.
My Christmas package for my parents was shipped on Dec 11 - from Langley to Kelowna - when it didn't arrive after 5 days a manual tracking was set up. When they couldn't locate it by Dec 23 -Purolator deemed it was gone and told me to make a claim - which I did. I re-purchased the items and sent the second package by courier (not Purolator) Wonders of wonders - the first package was delivered on Jan 3 - I was notified of this by my parents when they received it - not by Purolator I was contacted by Puolator (by email) and told that my claim for re-imbersement was now declined. I called customer service and explained that I was still out of pocket for the value of the package they lost and that they were the ones to deem it lost before I had purchased the second present. They would not honour their mistake and would only re-imberse me for the shipping costs - not the value of the package! I will not use this company again and am very disappointed with their customer service!
I ordered some clothing from Toronto to be shipped to Vancouver. On all 6 occasions, the packages arrived within 2 to 3 business days! The driver/delivery person was friendly and always asked my name so he could verify that I am the recipient. The information on the tracking page were accurate and when it stated "On vehicle delivery", I always received it within the same day. The driver always rung the door bell and knocked on my door to ensure I heard him.
I truly don't understand why so many people are upset with Purolator. I guess it's because if people are satisfied with its services, then they wouldn't bother to praise them. Therefore, only people who are upset with Purolator would complain about their services online. I hope more people who are satisfied with Purolator would speak up. Thank you.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Whatever you, do not trust any delivery service with PUROLATOR. I had a small package to be delivered these holidays and again it was not delivered on the date and time set. Not the first time it happens. At least four (4) other times PUROLATOR delayed and dragged on delivery in Toronto (Ontario). 1. Customer "service" 1 (888) 744-7123 are only there to tell you they can NOT do anything; "parcel is on its way", "we can NOT get hold of the driver" they say. You need to have the "tracking number" for Purolator to track (your complete NAME and ADDRESS is useless to them). 2. PUROLATOR drivers, always rushing, usually says your name is NOT on the building board (I happen to live in the building for the past 3 years) ; Canada Post always find me ! 3. Is there any REGULATION on this jungle business ? Or "self-regulation" is the only law of the land in Ontario ? 4. Asked for case to be escalated. Manager creates a ticket, sends a request to dispatch then calls me back 1 hour later only to tell me the package will be delivered 2 days later. Sender is already paying top dollars $$$ and all we get is a late bad service = Puro-Later . 5. Driver claims that he rang the inter-phone (buzzer) "three times" and got a busy signal. The truth is that I was in my home the whole day, took the DAY OFF work knowing that this PURO-LATER can never deliver on the day and time set (except for much more money) eh . It seems that competitors (UPS, DHL etc) now offer morning, afternoon delivery. I have two (2) independent telephone lines and live alone. Busy line/signal ? Purolator = Puro-Later
To put this entire company mildly, Purolator is a cancer. Just like [External reference] and [External reference], they care not for customer satisfaction, but only for the quickest dime they can make. They constantly cut corners, slow shipping times, and offer the most pitiful service possible all to raise the useless bottom line so that some soulless accountant can jerk himself off at night.
Where in God's name do I start with these short bus riding couriers? As well as Trustpilot, I can also see a pleasant 30% average on consumer satisfaction on Yelp and Google, so needless to say that this will be yet another unique interpretation of a classic story. I’ll try to make it simple for the morons at Purolator to understand.
Now I can understand that a package might not be here before Christmas – it’s a busy season. I just wished the mouth breather who lumbered towards my front door with my GTX 760 understood how to ring a door bell (protip- you just push a button). And thus, even when I waited all day for my new graphics card to come, the only decency I could be rewarded was a slip telling me to pick it up in 3 days because Purolator can’t be bothered to run a business on weekends in the year 2013.
I guess I’ll just have to go pick it up myself because god forbid, this soulless corporation should do ANYTHING for the consumer. That is of course if I go to the right one, because while on the slip it told me to go to the Purolator in Fairview, a message on my phone told me to go to the Purolator in the ass end of Richmond, right next to the airport. I’d be surprised at this point of they didn't drop my new hardware in a puddle because they were distracted by a distant butterfly.
Even with all my angry, frustrated, ranting, the reason why Purolator has such an astonishing lack of respect for its clientele is 100% crystal clear. They, along with [External reference] and [External reference] have nearly monopolized the industry. They know they can just screw with us because they’re the only game in town next to [External reference] and the [External reference], and I wished Newegg just used them instead.
Purolator, to put your conduct simply, I trust chimpanzees to be better couriers than you. I’ve dealt with drug dealers friendlier than your staff. I mean this in the most profound sense possible; apply yourselves, for the love of god.
Purolator has got to be the worst delivery company. Absolutely worthless with rude clerks and lazy drivers!
I purchased tires and had them delivered to me by Purolator. On the day of the arrival, I noticed from the window of my house that the Purolator truck came and so I waited at the window to see if the driver would need my help. So I'm standing there at the window, IN FULL VIEW of the driver who comes out of the truck, SEES ME THERE AT THE WINDOW, and then goes ahead and puts something in the mail box at the edge of the driveway. He then goes ahead and gets back in the truck and starts driving away!!!!
Flabbergasted, I open the door, without a coat on (snow around us is about 2 meters high in Montreal) and start running after the truck, to wave the driver down and in the process fall down on the ice, break my eye glasses, my wallet flies out of my pocket.
So I pick myself up, I head to the mail box and inside the lazy driver has put a delivery notice saying that I wasn't home!!!! I do a tracking on the web and the results say that I wasn't home!!!!
So I take the delivery notice, and go to the Purolator office to pick up my tires, for which I PAID EXTRA for door to door delivery. I'm at the Purolator office and they ask me for an ID and that's when I realize that when I fell down, the transparent nylon pocket that holds my drivers license and medicare card is not there, it had fallen out of my wallet when my wallet flew out of my pocket when I fell. Meanwhile this is the day of the big storm in Montreal and I had driven to the Purolator office under treacherous conditions. So the clerk refuses to release the goods to me unless I show a government ID with my photo. I show her my Social security card with my name on it and all my credit cards with my name on them and my costco card which has my picture on it, but she's not budging so I get extremely angry and we have an argument. Bottom line is that she won't release my goods unless I show her a Government issues Photo ID.
So I drive back home, grab my Canadian Permanent resident card which has a photo of me and is government issued and drive back to Purolator office. This time they won't release the goods because the Canadian Permanent resident card has no address on it but in my presence they just gave merchandise to another person who came to pick up and he showed them his Medicare card WHICH DOES NOT HAVE AN ADDRESS ON IT!!!!!!
So now the manager gets called because the matter is escalating beyond reason, and after making my case with the manager why I don't have another ID for 40 minutes, they finally give me my goods.
The driver who caused all this mess did not even ring my door bell to check if I was at home, even if he didn't see me at the window - which is impossible not to because my windows are large and I had all the lights on and I was standing there waiting for him!!!!
I will never buy from a company again who uses Purolator to ship their goods, I will never use Purolator for any of my shipping needs. Absolutely worst company ever!
My father sent me some stuff from Ontario to Alberta. Nine jars of homemade pickled eggs, pickles, and beats. A $20.00 bottle of pure maple syrup (in a sealed PLASTIC bottle), Two bath towels and a face cloth.
They came in the afternoon while I was at work and left a note to pick up at a certain location. I went to pick it up a few days later and when I got there they said that the package had been damaged and was sent to another location on the other side of the city.
They had not called me at all to tell me this so I walked there (20 min) for nothing. The lady there gave me the number of the location so I could call and I did. They told me some of the jars had been damaged (even though they were all bubble wrapped and than wrapped in towels, stored nicely in there by my father and taped up very well).
They said that they would repack what was left and send it to the original location it was to be sent to. I picked it up and carried it home, opened it and a face cloth and the bottle of maple syrup are missing, plus they led me to believe that a couple of the jars maybe two or three got damaged but five of the jars are gone and the original tote it came in.
For the original tote to be damaged and the amount of stuff that got broken in there after my fathers careful packaging, the package had to be mishandled. Plus, where are my other two items that couldn't be damaged? I understand that there was glass but that much damage? And it was obviously fine at the time they came around to my apartment. What happened to it between there and the store?
If I see that a company uses Purolator to ship I usually cancel the order unless it's the only game in town (like Newegg.ca (grumble)).
Canada Post all the way! Their lowest cost service isn't quite as fast as Purolator but I can be guaranteed that I get my parcels on the first delivery attempt (much higher levels of professionalism from their staff--the benefit of a unionized workforce!), and, if not on the first attempt, at least they're available for pickup the same evening at a location that's only a 10 minutes walk from my house.
Purolator is an OK company in terms of getting a package from point A to point B INSIDE their own network (if the tracking info is to be believed). But, in my part of Toronto (postal code M4J 1C4) they're downright awful in terms of getting packages to me AT HOME.
My wife and I work a full time job which means we're not home during working hours (and, even when my wife was off on mat leave they STILL managed to never deliver ANY package on the first attempt even though she was home during the day).
The only time Purolator ever tries to deliver is during "normal" working hours so I have NEVER received a shipment from them on the first try. Usually it takes them two or three attempts to get it right or I just give up and have them redirect to my work address. Now I send the parcel straight to my work address if I know I'm dealing with Purolator because I'd rather not have to deal with their friendly, but highly ineffective customer service department.
Plus, Purolator's depot in this part of the city is out in the middle of nowhere (a 35 minute walk one way along a pretty grungy road populated by lots of drivers hell bent on killing anyone who's not in a car) so EXTREMELY inconvenient and also a slight bit dangerous.
You'd think that repeated attempts to deliver a package would cost them money because I make them deliver rather than waste an hour and a half out of my day trekking to the lake and back. Ah well, I guess this is what the federal government wants Canada Post to devolve into--a private company offering terrible service, even to people in high density parts of the country where providing high quality service costs a fraction to deliver compared to small, low density towns.
Mind you, my service experience with Purolator sounds a lot better than what people in small town Canada experience (which is why I'm prepared to give them three stars).
I just want to start this review by saying I will never ever be using Purolator for anything again. The small package was sent to my old city, so I asked for a redirect. I was told it would come Tuesday but it didn't and they said there was a delay and that I would receive it Wednesday. It didn't arrive, and showed that it was in LONDON so I called and asked about that and they said I would receive it Thursday because there was a shipping error and it was sent to the wrong city. I talked to a 'tracking specialist' who promised I would receive my package Thursday morning and now it's back in Toronto getting sorted (why would he tell my that I would have it this morning if it needed to go back to TO to get sorted!?), and I'm still waiting for a call back. Between all this I spoke to a woman who was basically blaming me for having it redirected and then a different guy was telling me that this sort of thing happens (well, I've never had a single problem with any other courier). I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau next, and I encourage any other customers with issues do the same. The amount of negative comments are atrocious, it's amazing to me that Purolator doesn't look into their management issues.
Éprouve présentement de très grand difficulté a recevoir 2 petit clé USB... Tant de temps perdu pour ces deux petits objets **!/&?&*$ Purolator
Difficulty to receive my package. They have it, but they do not want to give me because my adresse is not the same on my cards...(father/mother separated) But I have a lot of proof that I reside there too... Really Bad experience with those people...
After ordering on-line from Bestbuy, Purolator had me waiting at home two days in a row waiting on the package to be delivered. Each time the driver would just scan the package and not show up!!! Fedex and UPS drivers never no this!!! The service is poor and unreliable.
Purolater never lets me know when they've attempted delivery of a package. They don't leave a slip at the door and they don't always call, so they only way to know if something has arrived is by tracking the package from the vendor. Then, to pick the package up, the warehouse is out of the way on the other side of the river. Other alternatives like Canada Post are much more convenient.
During Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I placed many orders from two different retailers. Both retailers only offered purolator for shipping. I used to love purolator because they shipped pretty fast and they do ring the doorbell more than once but unfornately, I had so many delays in my trackings during this week. They've been delayed 2-4 days due to missed connections and missed delivery (they didn't deliver to my house so don't get confused, they didn't have enough time to delivery to me!). I would have thought they'd put in more shifts since delivery companies know during the holidays many people order stuff online..
Can’t swear enough about this incompetent operation. Waited SIX days for delivery, the package is still not here! I called 1-888-744-7123 and used live chat, no one from purolator can tell me where my package is right now and no one knows when am I going to receive my package!

The worst courier company!!! Why is it still in business!?
Someone local deemed my address didn't exist and halted my package. No one called me. But the tracker still indicated 'attempted deliveries to an incorrect address'. I even confirmed that no one was coming by. Misleading tracking information. Support did get my package re-delivered, but it shouldn't have been halted two days by a locationally challenged delivery driver.
On Thursday the 28th I got a parcel slip on my door saying that after 4:30 my package would be available for pickup. I wasn't able to go that day or Friday so on Monday I made my way over to get my package.
When I got there I gave the employee the slip that was left on my door and she went into the back. After several moments she came back and said that for some reason she couldn't find it in the back, but not to worry, she would track it down on the computer. So she goes on the computer and she seems quite confused. Then she looks at the ticket, back up at me, and to the computer screen.
"Was the package from Starbucks?" she asked.
I told her that, yes, the parcel was coming from Starbucks. It turns out that three hours before hand someone else had come in with a slip from my package and since their name wasn't on it and they couldn't pick it up they decided to refuse it.
I questioned how someone who wasn't me could refuse my package, especially considering that I need ID to pick the damn package up that has my name and address (which I am not against, but the rules should be the same for refusing a package). The lady swore up and down that the shipping address was this other woman's address and her phone number was even the one on file! I call bull to that. No other women live at my address, I'm the one who filled out the shipping information (and what are the chances of me putting down some random persons address and phone number?), I had already received the bill at MY address, and lastly if it weren't filled out for MY address then why did I still get a parcel slip to my address in the first place? It doesn't add up.
I'm assuming that the employee who accepted the refusal didn't even check to see if this person lived at the address in question and just let them turn it away. This is completely unacceptable. At the VERY LEAST a call should have been made to me to see what was going on. Why did this person get a slip to my package to begin with? The only other people that live with me are my husband and infant son. Obviously neither of them were this mystery woman.
They refused to give me any information on how this mistake occurred and told me the only thing I could do was call the customer service hotline and try to get them to catch the package and reroute it back to my city. I tried calling the number two days in a row when I was available. They claim to be open until 8 p.m but both times I've gotten a message saying they're closed and then it states their hours. Now I've had to file an online request for it but apparently it takes up to 48 hours for them to respond and by that point it could already be back to the company I bought it from and then I have to sort it out with THEM and pay shipping AGAIN.
They lost my package... Apparently no signature required means leave the package wherever you'd like. Had someone home all day, and they can't be bothered to ring a doorbell. Package was left at clearly the wrong address... Great customer service right there
