I own a flat in a town the Lake District, which I have been renting out for some 10 years. The last tenant left after three years lease, but imagine my surprise to find my after my estate agent told me the property was clean and ready to rent again that in fact it was full of clothes, a hundred glasses (stolen from pubs?) and dishes. And the tenant had been smoking in the place so it required a major clean even before re-decorating. Blah blah blah - finally I told my agent to put it on the market, which they did by including in their (broken) web site and nothing else. After five months I put it on Gumtree, and was contacted by Rentify offering free listings on various web sites. I was a bit suspicious, but after calling them I was quite surprised. Three days later I had two enquiries and within a week I have rented the property out again to a very nice tenant. That is a result, and I am now using Rentify for other services, such as a Gas Safety Test etc.
Rentify is a website that allows you to list your property to rent for free on the most popular online property portals and for a small payment they will upgrade your listing so that it appears on Rightmove. Not only will they hlep you find a tenant but they will also help with checking references, credit check and other vital services. It allows you, the owner, the one who knows the property best, to meet applicants and explain the best features of the property and that can often be a big advantage other traditional estate agents.
I signed up for the fully managed service and expected everything will go through without much hassle. However it turns out to be a constant struggle.
From key collection to advertisement, to viewings, to reference check, to gas safety check / inventory, I had to push every hard to move every step forward. With frustration, I eventually setup another ad and conducted viewings and reference checks myself.
There were two things I found most unacceptable: 1. My property manager tried to convince me that a group of 2 people with a verifiable income less than the rent are suitable; 2. Of the overall 8 inquiries, only 3 of them were acted upon (again not without hard pushing). The other 5 weren't passed to me at all.
Rentify has provided an excellent service. I have used Rentify to help find tenants for several of my properties. They have friendly and efficient staff to assist with any needs. Their publications are helpful and up to date and provide an insight into the market and changing legislation. I have recommended using Rentify to friends and family with property to rent.
I was told my keys would be collected on Monday. I had to prompt the company to pick them up a week later. My flat was not advertised promptly, and I didn't feel as though as was being kept in the loop with what was going on. It's not rented out yet so I may have a chance to improve my impression!
Have used a couple of times now and got good few enquiries, but find I can't create ads entirely or request references without having to phone for assistance. When I do phone though, things are usually resolved.
Rentify provided me with the oportunity to advertise the property on numerous websites free of charge! You can't argue with that. It included all the popular ones that as an individual you cannot necessarily get on. This helped increase the number of prospective tenants that would see the property. It also meant that I didnt have to repeat creating my advert on several websites, saving me time. I would be happy to use them again given the marketing coverage they provide.
We use Rentify, because they advertise our properties at no cost to the landlord or tenant on sites such as Zoopla. They offer a range of ad-ons at a reasonable cost, but there is no obligation to take these.
We highly value this excellent, uncomplicated free service.
A good, easy to use service, with lots of helpful information, which makes estate agents look like the unhelpful cowboys some of them are. Its so refreshing in the 21st century to have something so genuinely helpful and not overpriced especially for first time landlords, who may be trying to help and do right by renters, but are treated as greedy individuals who deserve to be taken for a ride.
I have utilised Rentify over the last year and a half and they have never failed to find a suitable tenant, I have recommended their services to several other Landlords whom I expect to 'crossover' from their respective Agencies.
When I made my first but to let purchase, I was introduced to Rentify. Not only does the base service advertise your property for free, you get loads of tips on renting. I then upgraded my advert to include right move and have looked forward to the MANY interested tenants that Rentify have put me in touch with via very friendly and helpful staff. I have since used the credit check option and that was great. All in all, Rentify is the first place I'll come with any more properties or if I run into a problem.
So far in all my interactions with Rentify they seem quite unprofessional and slow. The current one is a credit check which I am waiting for for several days and they have not kept me up to date on the reason for the delay or the status.
I would not recommend rentify to other friends. I would mention "[external reference]" to them
