I've bought quite a few bits & pieces from Ribble over the years and not once has the service been any less than efficient & prompt. I've used Ribble above all for it's keen prices. My last order included Ribble's entry-level TT frame. I'm really pleased with the quality & weight of my first Ribble frame but was crestfallen when I realised I'd missed out on a promotional deal. I emailed Ribble pleading 'stupidity' and Ben kindly made arrangements to make amends. What more can a customer ask for from an internet supplier. A Local Bike Shop ... online!
A year ago I bought a Ribble Winter/Audax Winter bike that I have been very pleased with. I accidentally damaged the small security clip securing the mudguard stays to the front fork; following a phone call to Ribble Ben has put a replacement part in the post to me free of charge. I will continue to buy from Ribble and recommend them to members of my cycling club.
Fantastic customer service. A part broke on a mudguard on a bike I bought from Ribble over a year ago.Nothing to do with the part itself, I came off the bike on a diesel patch. I emailed Ribble asking for advice on sourcing a spare part, got an email back within minutes saying that a spare was in the post to me. The part is probably worth pennies but the gesture was worth a lot more.
Dead honest review. After reading reviews I felt cautious about using Ribble and although the prices are very competitive the reviews seem to indicate the customer service and delivery falls short. My son and I visited 6 different shops not being 100% sure on what bikes to buy. When we arrived at Ribble cycles we were shown around the different models in the showroom by a young lady (didn't catch her name), I found her very helpful with good product knowledge and offered good advice without pushing for a sale. Both me and my son both agreed that the bikes looked better than the web pictures. We decided to order two carbon bikes using the bike builder on their website. I found it easy to use and straight forward. The order was placed on a Sunday night and we collected on the following Monday (8 days). On collection we served by a guy called Matt Arkwright who again was very pleasant and very helpful spending time explaining any questions. Overall a very good experience.
Iv used Rubble for a few years now for parts and have always been impressed by their fantastic value and swift delivery.
I recently bought their Ribble R872 through their bike builder option and found the while process a breeze. I ordered the bike late one Monday evening, was updated with progress throughout and was even advised when I'd made a slight oversight that could quite easily have ended in catastrophe, to my delight the bike arrived on the Friday afternoon and after a few slight adjustments the bike was ready to roll.
I found the whole experience fantastic and its cemented by belief of how good they are. Needless to say I will certainly shop there again, in fact I'll go out of,my way to ensure its Ribble or nothing. ;)
Ordered a product Friday night online and within 5 minutes realised it would be the wrong size. I emailed customer service straight away and the next day was told I could not change the order or cancel as it was not possible.
I know I should of ordered the right size in the first place but not being able to change or get the order changed two days before the product was posted seem a bit off to me. I also did not want to get stuck with having to pay for return post at £4.10 which I have had to do.
I have bought a number of stuff from Ribble cycles without a problem but this will be the last due to flexibility.
I bought an Evo Pro Carbon back in June last year which arrived as expected within the time quoted. After a few months I noticed small lumps appearing under the lacquer. I sent an email to customer service who gave me a couple of options. I decided to have the bike collected and inspected under warranty. Ribble arranged for a bike suite case to be dispatched to me in order for me to send my bike back. Inside the box I found lots of packing and some simple instructions and the bike was collected by Parcelforce on the day arranged.
Ribble exchanged my frame and forks for new with no questions asked and I have today received my bike back the whole process taking less than the 14 days quoted. I would like to extend my thanks to the whole team at Ribble Cycles and wish all company's gave such good customer service.
If your thinking of buying from Ribble you can do with confidence knowing your going to get the support you may need in the future.
A while ago I bought some bottles from them and they send me some shorts by accident. I called them up to try and so the problem but I couldn't get through after quite a few attempts I gave in and called them on their CSN number, however they still wouldn't help. In the end I had to drive up to Walton Summit to sort the problem out.
Having decided to upgrade my road bike ,i started looking at the ribble R872,really liked the look of it with the carbon mavic cosmic wheels ,i went on the bikebuilder on monday and ordered.Recieved an email on thursday that the bike was dispatched,it was delivered on the monday. The bike looks fantastic with the wheels, feels lite (think its about 7.5kg)and solid.Cannot fault ribble at all ,every email answered within a few hours.
Went on line on the Monday and using bike builder specified my requirements. Expecting the order to take about 10 days I was surprised to get an email on the Thursday morning to say my bike had been dispatched. It arrived on the Friday and all I had to do was fit the handlebars and the saddle and on the Sunday I was having my first ride. It would have been Saturday but it was wet. So from order to first ride in less than a week - now that's service. Have shopped with Ribble many times and have always had excellent service
Placed order after being emailed with 12 per cent discount offer. I forgot to put code in and no way to cancel when immediately realised my simple error. Emailed and asked them to refund the amount of discount which they did then do after a couple of emails. Goods delivered correctly and in reasonable time.
After speaking to Ribble about my order on New Year's Eve I agreed to go and pick it up that afternoon, unfortunately as I arrived they had closed early and all the staff were leaving, the shop was closed. I was stood with another customer outside the shop at this point my review could have gone down a very different route. A member of staff by the name of James offered to try and help he went back into the warehouse and found both our orders and sorted out the invoices while we waited. It wasn't an ideal situation but it would have been very easy for him to leave as all the other staff were doing. It took a little while to sort out, as everything had been locked up but I left with my order and was very happy and I will now use them again.
I am the new owner of a Ribble 872 frame. I want to say that the service from the moment of ordering the frame until the reception of the item was great. It took Ribble about 7 working days to despatch the frameset, which is well within their time frame window of max. 15 days. Once despatched, I received the frameset in Spain in about 4 days. The package was amazingly well packed using air bubble bags and foam. I want to mention that even though some people complained about the bad response service, in my case it was the exact opposite: the person I used to change e-mails asking for updates on the frameset, tracking number, company used to ship the item in Spain etc. was Matt C. Amazing guy! Chapeau to Ribble! You've earned my trust! Well done!
Ordered a winter frame at the beginning of Oct. They marked it as dispatched within a few days, so I waited in the following day for it to be delivered. It did not turn up. So I emailed Ribble asking if it had definitely been dispatched. They then just put the order back to 'order progressing' in my account. So I thought fine, annoying, but they do say 11-15 working days for delivery.( It ended up in my possession on the 23rd working day) I emailed them after 2 weeks asking for a likely dispatch day, sensing something was wrong and got a stupid miss spelled robot reply saying it will be completed within 15 working days. Which has turned out to be a lie. I replied explaining the irritating situation, and got another reply saying my correspondence has been passed on to workshop manager. I've heard nothing to date. So I phoned them on the 15th working day saying ''But you have not dispatched it'' etc, fella on the phone had no clue what was going on, would not give me any sort of answer and just said ''Er maybe wait another day or two''. Even tried telling me I placed my order later than I did. Phoned them again on 17th working day and the person on the phone said it will be dispatched today or tomorrow as it has been prepped already. I asked if I could just come and pick it up today then, to which he replied ''Oh I'll just have to check it has actually been prepped''. It actually arrived, late, on the 18th working day and the frame was damaged. It had not been damaged in transit. Just packed and sent to me with a chip in the frame. So drove to their shop and was told I will get a replacement early next week, and they will give me a 10% discount ( But this has not been honored!). Mid next week came and I had not heard anything, so I went again to their shop. Different member of staff this time, helpful and seemed to want to get it sorted. But still had to wait almost half an hour, then was presented with a replacement frame. It was still not totally unmarked, I discovered when I got it home. Also no chain guard sticker was on it, as is usual, either.
Truly unbelievable experience. Ribble did everything possible wrong, wasted so much of my time, and seemed to do their best to treat me like a mug. Absolutely best avoided. Was warned about Ribble, I should of listened.
*As expected they have absolutely no reply to this. No effort to make good what they have done wrong or at least pay me what they said they owed me.
well i have now received my r872 carbon bike from ribble and was very impressed with the packaging of the bike so that it would not be damaged in transit. However i wasn't as impressed with the amount of time it took to get to me (just over a month from order to delivery) and as i have pointed out to ribble that the tracking number of the bike should be added to the email you receive when dispatched, they are looking into this.
the bike looks really nice and much better in the flesh than the pictures. i have ridden the bike for around 85 miles and i am not at all happy with the gear changes at the moment as some times they changed ok then would jump a gear then not change up properly. I know this is down to trimming the gears but thought this should have been done better in the workshop, the other issue i have is with the crank. it feels as though it is jumping ever so slightly when pedaling the bike on a stand and feels as though it is rubbing on something as well. i have booked the bike into my local bike shop for them to examine if this is the crank, gears etc. Having come from a specialised allez with shimano 2300 gears to going to a full ultegra 6700 setup i would have imagined this should feel like silk when pedaling, i guess i will see what the bike shop says about it and let you know.
Ok, I live in Switzerland...this was my second bike from Ribble this year (a 365 and now the R872). Good communication from Steve in sales. Issue with Di2 front harness was resolved quickly and was a Shimano issue. Both bikes performing extremely well and great value for money. Several other orders for clothing delivered quickly. Highly recommended.
I have ordered and received a sportive 365 from Ribble ,which was purchased through the NHS cycle to work scheme. How as the experience been ?. I would suggest that if you want to deal with people who display an interest in the satisfaction of the customer you might be better served by buying a bike from your lbs. Having paid the extra £65 fee directly to Ribble (they ask you to pay this before they will start the build) I was given a date for the start of the build. I asked if they might consider putting me a pair of pedals on the bike as a gesture of goodwill. (these pedals cost Ribble £10 a pair.....not much to ask on a £977 bike with an extra £65 charge). I was given a straigtforward NO !. When I picked the bike up, the rather surly assistant lowered the ridiculously high seatpost on request, handed me a carrier bag with fitting instructions for all the fitted kit, and asked me to sign a form....and that was the full extent of the handover. When I arrived home, I realised that I had not been advised about the initial service (as offered by any other shop iv'e purchased bikes from. The answer I received stated that Ribble (who of course hand built the bike) did not have the facility to service the bike, and that it had a 2 year warranty should I have any problems. I E-mailed back to point out my disappointment,, but Ribble (who apparently have a policy to answer all customer e-mails) have stubbornly refused to supply me with a reply five days from my communication. I have also e-mailed Mr J.Dove regarding the situation, but as you might have guessed, no reply. Would I recommend buying a bike from Ribble ? Never again in a million years.
I have placed 4 orders with Ribble in the past, when it comes to clothing, parts etc you can expect a great service and very quick delivery. Most recently I ordered a Ribble Sportive bike. Although you may wait up to a month for something that may be out of stock, I can not fault them at all. One month for a custom built bike, built to your spec is worth the wait! Excellent customer service, always happy to reply to emails and resolve any problems (I messed up my order and it was sorted straight away), and I more than happy with my bike.
