Where do I start? With a 250Mb 12 page A4 brochure to print, I uploaded it to my own server, only to be told that they couldn't download it from there, and I would have to use WeTransfer. Okay, no problem, if a little aggravating.
Included in the zip download was a pdf of the overall design, then individual TIF files of each page, named Front Cover, Inside 1, Inside 2, Inside 3, Inside 4, Inside 5-6, Inside 7, Inside 8, Inside 9, Inside 10, The Back Cover. Not really rocket science.
The job was rejected, as apparently it wasn't clear what page went where. I spoke to them, and they said that the Inside 5-6 (the centre page spread) was confusing the issue, and I should upload that as two separate A4 pages, despite it being a centre spread. So, I duly uploaded revised TIFs (the whole job again to avoid confusion).
The job has now been rejected again, as the TIFs are, according to them, the wrong dimensions. They are 2516x3579 pixels - EXACTLY the correct size (within a quarter of a pixel) for A4 with 3mm bleed on 3 sides at 300dpi, which is the industry standard.
Okay, they're cheap, but their incompetence knows no bounds - I cannot find one saving grace about them to justify the saving of a few quid. Avoid like the plague
I've been using them commercially for about a year plus. Print quality is acceptable, given the pressures from clients for VFM and their own acceptance of what they deem to be good enough quality. i.e. it's obviously not the best, but 95% wouldn't blink an eye at it!
One job went wrong, where they missed a deadline. But to be fair it was a tight one leading into the Xmas period, and in fact it was their courier service that let them down. Despite that, they gave me a full refund. They did initially ask me to send the print back, but then changed their mind.
So have and am still using them. Print in 5 days is the price you pay for getting such a good price, so it's a take it or leave it.
I placed an order for A5 leaflets and paid around 20th August. Like others didn't realise it was a German company. By 28th nothing received and I began to email. No reply, I phoned. Gave the order number (money had been debited from my account on 23rd August). The lady promised to ring me back.
Next day I ring again and speak to Joana (at least she was sympathetic). Said the order had been send out on 30th (now I realise it was coming from Germany). Tracking number? She chased it up and basically it couldn't be located. So today, after much heated discussion (on my part); the order is being placed again, printed quickly as should be with me in 5 days time!!!
At least she tried to sort it and apologised but no explanation as to what may have gone wrong. Had I not telephoned it would all have gone though a black hole, never to be heard of again.
It beggars belief.
Please, for sanity's sake; don't even consider using them. And I haven't even seen the quality yet. I am not even confident that they have my artwork ... God, perhaps I had better ring again?
Firstly don't be fooled by the .co.uk address. This is a German company on the Eastern side I believe. Yes it's cheap, and sometimes you get an OK job. On this occasion it has cost me over £200 to go very wrong. Basically because they printed the wrong artwork and refuse to budge as I put my communications relating to the file on the email I attached the artwork too, it was totally ignored. That email address apparently only accepts data and not communications. To cut a long story short I got the same job printed twice instead of two separate jobs. More a case of Computer says No!
Wherever possible use a trusting local printer.
Where do I start? Firstly the flyers I ordered arrived TWO WEEKS LATER than stated on their own website and they turned up with a nice white margin around them!! Not apart of the original design, obviously! I also suspect the flyers weren't of the high GSM I had ordered.
After more than THREE MONTHS OF WRANGLING WITH THEM they have reluctantly refunded my costs but they force you to send back, at your OWN COST, the flyers to PROVE TO THEM HOW RUBBISH THEY ARE. They are not refunding my postage costs to do this, despite postage costs in the UK being SO high and despite the fact that NONE OF THIS WAS MY FAULT.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Hi, this company were slow in printing, poor blurry quality and tried to bill me twice.- They were argumentative and difficult and I felt need to work on their customer relations - we have now changed to Graphics and Print - who were so so helpful.
when there is so much choice out there, why take the risk -
Placed an order 4 weeks ago, didn't hear anything so have just phoned and have been told they emailed me.
No email recieved at my end: Turns out they had another persons details on my account!
Quote " You have two accounts with Saxoprint, one was opened in 2008"
Errrr No Saxoprint, I only set the account up 4 weeks ago!
I have taken the incident up with Paypal as Saxoprint failed to understand that a compromised account is a security issue.
I asked to esculate the incident and was told "That is impossible as the owners live in Germany and won't talk to you"
Guess it's my fault for selecting what I thought was a good offer from a reputable company. Guess I was wrong.
Oh and if you wan't to cancel an order after reading this... That will cost you at least £12 !
Wish I had read the reviews before placing my order.
