My big mistake, I did not read review about this company before sending my laptop to them.
1. They are very slow - you will receive info that checking laptop or paying out will take from 3-5 working days - double this time. 2. They are not picking up the phone - no matter day, time, how many time you will try. 3. Last but the most important, they will lower price for the laptop - I`m IT Technical, I checked my laptop, it was expensive in good condition. They told me that RAM was faulty (absolutely absurd) and that was in really bad condition scratches all-over etc.
Use a different service, one with good feedback even if they do offer you less cash.
Well unfortunately I only read the reviews here after I sent my laptop to SUYL.co.uk It took weeks for them to acknowledge my laptop. At which point I was offered a lower price, however it was reasonable so I accepted. It has now been over a week since I received the "3-5 working days payment process". I have now sent further emails but after reading what I have read here I am not optimistic. I shall try calling this week and if all else fails I will be going to their industrial unit to retrieve my laptop myself. Absolute scam artists, how can they continue to be allowed to operate? Use a different service, one with good feedback even if they do offer you less cash.
After expection of my laptop agreed on a lower price quoted. Initially £109. Agreed on a price of £64 on the 27th Sept. It is now the 7th of Oct and still no payment has been made. Forget about the 3-5 WORKING DAYS for payment. When logging in payment processing has been on the system for days. Also have the same problem with contacting them. Nobody picks up the phone. Have emailed also with no reply. Will be going to Citizens Advice Bureau. May just aswell of given it away
Its a simple con, quote high, be ridiculously critical when examining your laptop, invent things that are wrong with it. Then offer you £4 or charge YOU £34 to have your own laptop back! Everyone gets quoted £4, hmm.
They lure you in with a professional approach at the beginning, they issue you a quote, they send you packaging and UPS pick up your Laptop all within a week. However the moment the laptop is taken they cut off all contact and ignore all calls and emails. It has now been 4 weeks since they received the laptop and I agreed to a price, and after phoning and emailing every day - eventually with threats of litigation - they refuse to reply.
Completely avoid, worst customer experience of my life, may as well have thrown £175 down the toilet.
Having researched a number of these firms I choose SUYL over others simply because they offered a very good price. After agreeing terms it took a little while for the package to arrive but this was due to the Christmas holidays. However after parting with my mac it did seem to take a long time, almost eleven days, for the company to acknowledge receipt on their automated system.
It took a further 10 days for the laptop to be reviewed. In fairness there was a minor reduction offered for a slight scratch but I genuinely believed the price offered was a fair one and it was only a minor adjustment of £12. So at this stage not too bad could do better but suffered worse from other companies
However it took 15 days for the payment to be sorted and only after I had written to say I was considering taking legal advice. I had written a number of times with no response until the ubiquitous [Name removed] mailed to say it had been paid.
As with the other reviewer there is something scary and unsettling that you have handed over a £700 bit of kit and all you hear is silence from the other end. If they would improve their communications and customer focus there is possibly a smart little company here willing to offer good prices with a slick interface clearly let down by the humans behind it.
So if you are willing to wait and feel mild panic attacks this could be for you, if you want less of a deal but more speed and customer focus try elsewhere.
Company is a Joke. But trust me they will foul you with quite professional approach at the beginning. Box arrived. Courier picked up laptop. BUT... IT took 3 WEEKS TO assess laptop(says on website when logged in). Contact is extremely Limited. Phone number provided is never answered. During working hours it says that all agents are busy but after hours it says that office is closed now and opening hours are... . I tried at least 50-60 times. It is exactly the same. Tried mother company "[External link removed]"- exactly the same issue with landline. The only person that makes contact with you is [Name Removed] and its an email. Emails received are completely bonkers. No questions answered just the same schematic that system is automated and you need to log in , in order to see what is going on with your order. All in all. My Laptop priced at £240 has been picked up by UPS on the 27th OF DECEMBER 2012, and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MONEY FOR IT. I have forwarded case to Fraud Department but also will inform them about breach of contract and will forward case to small case Court.

Good service, everything arrived in a timely manner. Boxes were sent as promised, company chased me up to ensure they were returned. The laptop was revalued at a slightly lower grade, but I think it was a fair assessment and did not result in a significant detriment. Although they determined it was 2 years old, when I had only bought it a year before, but I assume they meant when the actual machine was built. Regardless, good way to rid of an old laptop.
