Despite what they say, they do not monitor flight arrival times. Our driver was not there when the flight came in 40 minutes early and did not get there for another 40 minutes. When he finally arrived, he stood behind a pole despite being told exactly where we were waiting in the terminal, said not a word when we finally found him, was surly [hey, I am from NYC and this guy was surly even by that standard] and then tried to drop the entire family 1/4 mile from the hotel in Southwark because he did not want to detour around construction. On the return trip to Heathrow a week later, the new driver was right on time and could not have been nicer; unfortunately, the van stank and there were ashes on the seats...on the other hand, I just received an email from Silvershuttle, offering apologies as well as compensation in the form of a free transfer when we are next in London. Gratifying to know that the management cares about the reviews and the service...
The was my first time ever using a London-based shuttle service. My first impression of my pick-up to Heathrow was pretty good. The driver was on time, it was nearly 4am, and I felt very safe on the way. For pick-up the following day at Heathrow, I had trouble finding my driver because I didn't exit through Baggage Claim, as I had none. The first thing my driver said to me, although nicely, was "Where have you been? I have been standing here for thirty minutes." I said, "I didn't exit this way and was on the phone with dispatch looking for you. It hasn't been thirty minutes; my flight only landed fifteen minutes ago." To boot, I couldn't even read my name as the blue dry-erase from a previous pick-up was still showing so my name was very difficult to make-out. Regardless, I thought that was very rude to immediately shift blame on me, the client - not very professional. Then, on the way from Heathrow to the City, he stopped for gas!!! Unreal. I am of course happy we didn't run out, but shouldn't he have maybe been a bit prepared? I've lived in London and NYC and never, ever, has a driver of a cab, shuttle, or luxury car service ever done this. You should be prepared when picking someone up - it's your job. First impressions are everything, and looking at this experience as a whole, the ending totally negates the initial experience. A shame, really. I won't be booking with you again.
In general it was a good experience. The trip to the airport was good, the pick up was on time and fast till the airport (driving safety) The return was not so good because I've had to wait more than 50 minutes at the airport and the driver was not so sure about way. I think the service depends a little on what driver we get.
Excellent service. Booked online from Honolulu to avoid using the tube from Heathrow to Liverpool Street Station. Greeted by our smiling driver in the arrivals hall after leaving Waikiki hotel 29 hours earlier, help with our cases and a comfortable ride through London. Heartily recommended.
I received information about pick up time the day before, the driver was waiting a few minutes before the arranged time and I was on time for my flight. He also helped me with the luggage and was friendly and respectul. I would definitely recommend this company
I would have given this 5 stars had it not been for the delays with the cab drivers...On my outward journey, the driver got around to pick me very late that I had to call and call for someone to come and pick me up. As a result I slightly late and I was left rushing with my check-in.
On my return..the booking from abroad was very quick and ease and very friendly person who dealt with my booking..thank you for your custom.. On arrival, unfortunately I had to wait in the cold as the driver had gone to a different terminal not in my request and again I had to phone the head office to get the driver to me. Other these issues I highly recommend silver Shuttle to anyone. Thank you!
I booked Silver Shuttle for my 22 y.o. daughter arriving for the first time at Heathrow airport. She didn't have a mobile phone, her flight was delayed and I was being a paranoid mother ringing Silver Shuttle a number of times to make sure they would wait for her and keep looking out for her. I was so relieved when the driver let her use his phone to ring me to let me know she was ok. Thank -you Silver Service. I would definitely recommend you.
I've used Silver Shuttle three times now, each time with the private car flat rate transfer to Heathrow. The first two occasions had top-notch service for what I consider to be a fair price (it's London, so really any connection to Heathrow aside from the Tube will be at least 20GBP+). The drivers went above and beyond and were exceedingly friendly. The company was also extremely accommodating in helping sort out a mishap with a cancelled flight. The third time there was a slight mixup that put me 15 minutes behind schedule, but it was sorted quickly and I always give myself ample time to make it to the airport. I also appreciate being able to pay in advance, which has been instrumental for friends visiting from abroad who sought to rid themselves of pounds before their flight. I have recommended Silver Shuttle to friends, and will continue to do so as a reliable and affordable airport transfer.
I've only used it once, but it was a very convenient (and rather cheap) way to get to Heathrow early morning (I had to be there at 5.30am). The driver was on time, and I only shared the van with one more person, so they picked me up at my prefered time and got me straight to the airport.
The cab came a few min early which is very good because i was already ready to go anyway the driver was really helpful and even asked me if i havent forgot something. We arrived at Heathrow in no time!!!! Excellent service highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I unfortunately made a couple of destination errors and had to ring to get things sorted out. The contact was made easy by the operator in London who very quickly sorted things out and got me back on track. The proof will be in the pudding when we arrive in the UK in August but based what I have experienced so far we are in for a treat.
