I used The Knowledge Academy to take the MSP course. It was, in my opinion, very good value for money (paid for myself), and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future or to recommend them to my colleagues or friends.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and other then a slight confusion on the first morning over the classroom, it all ran very smoothly. Our tutor was very experienced in training and in the subject matter.
Prince2 Course was well paced and whilst intensive was not exhausting. Passed both exams so obviously very pleased with the results.
Everything was so well delivered, the trainer was excellent. Tough week with alot if homework but well worth perusing. Highly recommended!
The venue was a stuffy room without windows. The tutor was rude, patronising, agressive and defensive. She said she only rarely taught MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) - and it showed.
If you just need to pass the exam and are on a budget, this might be okay for you. If you are looking for anything more, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.
Really enjoyed the Prince 2 Foundation & Practitioners courses and meeting all the other delegates. Challenging timescales, but not as scary as I've heard. You get back as much as you put into it. Only minor gripe was that for the money paid, the venue was a bit tatty, and the lack of air conditioning in the room meant that it was either too hot, or too cold and nosiy (with the windows open).
Overall I wish I had chosen a different company. The on-line Prince 2 Practitioner course is practically non-existent. All it contains is a 15 minutes presentation contain the structure of the exam. I expected more that that for £500.
Also whenever I wanted information from the staff people at the company they either didn't know or failed to tell me or passed me to someone else to talk to. Frustrating and time wasting. Avoid.
Expensive but "it does what it says on the can". Little opportunity to do much preparatory work as course manual not received till first day of course - a 300 page manual to be studied and absorbed in less than 5 days....
Norma the trainer was effective, business-like and approachable.
Facilities were adequate, but only just. Very hot, noisy and air-less.
In summary, the manual should be posted out well in advance, especially when you consider the course price - the postage wouldn't impact the profit margin that much.
The course was well structured, and the trainer was excellent. He had a lot of real world experience and knew the course inside out.
I passed with a good grade, and will definitely use knowledge academy in the future if I decide to do any more training.
Very efficient and easy to deal with, every representative I dealt with were friendly and very helpful, which was replicated through to the course trainer who was equally very professional and kept the course interesting the whole time. Will be using Knowledge Academy again for my next training course
More interaction / worked sample scenarios may add context however in the time available a solid understanding of the principles was conveyed and understood
Our Lecturer for the week Greg did an excellent job at getting through the material and making sure that every candidate in the group (of 11 I think) had chance to question and make sure they understood.
I think he did as good a job as anyone could have done when faced with needing to deliver a weeks worth of material which is pretty dry and un-inspiring to a high enough standard to get everyone the Pass they were looking for.
Well done Greg.
I just wish Knowledge Academy would offer some discounts to people who are paying privately for future courses.
The experience of studying with the Knowledge Academy has been easy transition back into education/studying. I have not studied for years and with a young family I thought it would not be possible. The tutors at the Knowledge Academy are supportive and great for getting you to apply yourself and are upfront about what is expected of you. The supporting material is clear and examples to work through are in line with the final examinations you would be required to do.
I will be studying with the again in the future!
Very intensive course, theory based with a lot of information to digest and somehow absorb. Majority of the Prince2 is common sense, but the wording and general theory behind it make you doubt yourself.
I got through them, but did struggle with the time element of the exams. I pretty much ran out of time on both exams. Not being in an exam situation for a number of years, this sets panic in. Something I deem slightly unfair in exam conditions. You really don't get enough chance to read, then read again to check the question and answer appropriately.
Overall a good course, but make sure you keep your whole week and a few days before free. It takes it out of you.
If you were simply after the qualification, the Knowledge Academy is good value. I have completed both MSP and Prince2 in the past few months - the trainers were first class and professional, the other students engaging and interesting, and I felt for the time allowed prepared you for passing the exams. More time for discussion and exploring the concepts would have been great, however I recognise that with limited time this was difficult and the trainers did accommodate when possible. Overall I would recommend the Knowledge Academy based on my two experiences and would look there for other management courses in the future eg Managing Risk as a way to further update my skills.
This in no frills training. Course lengths are cut to a minimum and it feels like you are being coached to pass an exam rather than learning a subject. This means lots of homework and an intensive week for the Managing Successful Programmes Course I did. The training facilities are basic, tea and coffee but no lunch (not a problem) and the training rooms were basic and in need of painting. Two chairs collapsed under (not large) candidates on my course! The trainer was knowledgeable and did a good job keeping the fast pace moving.
All in all, It did the job, I passed the exams but it is a full-on fast pace and there is no time to network or to do case studies. However, the cost of courses is reflected by this and so if money is a factor this provides a cheap but effective option.
Mike Winnard was my trainer for the 5-Day PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner. in Manchester. He is knowledge and the delivery style is excellent and always willing to help and offer explanation to clarify concepts. I Passed both the Foundation and Practitioner exams the very first time.
And the price is competitive.
Highly recommended.
Great value, no-frills service and excellent tutor
Knowledgeable Instructor prepared to assist every step of the way
The pre-course work was the fundamental thing in getting through this course. The knowledge of the trainer was outstanding. Very well presented at the right level.
The only issue I had was as I had already done the foundation course in 2006, so did not need to sit it again, there was a problem with not being given a new candidate number and not being given a form to complete. Once identified 4 weeks later thee company did get this resolved but would have thought someone would have contacted me about this not to wait for me to contact them.
This does not deter me from recommending the course to people. It was enjoyable and rewarding.
The course is designed around passing the exams (thankfully which I did). This means that it doesn't really teach you how to manage a project! However, I can't see how this could be any different with the time available. The trainer was knowledgeable.
The only thing that let the course down was the venue - scruffy, noisy, unfriendly and with poor drink making facilities.
I was very impressed with both courses (ITIL & Prince 2) and the tutors were excellent.
I would have given top marks if the facilities (Birmingham) were a little better.
Took the Prince2 foundation and Practitioner courses via eLearning and it was, for me, the best way to go. I had 90 days to go through, over and over, the training slides, I could multi-stream and have Baroque music via YouTube playing whilst I learned slide by slide until I was ready to go for the exam. I could pause mid training and the system knew and gave me the option to restart at the right point. The KnowledgeAcademy site and support options were excellent but I didn't have to use them as the training slides and my background meant it was very clear. I'd recommend the KnowledgeAcademy for sure.
I shopped around and looked at various organisations. I was really worried about selecting the cheapest option. I cannot praise KA enough. Such value and excellent training. Well structured and well paced an enjoyable course. Learning was hard work but the course was actually fun. I will be going back definitely
I appreciate that it was a large group (15+) but the teaching remained in his chair for most of the week. He made little effort to interactive with the different participants. There were clearly people who were strugglying and he did create an environment for sharing or asking advice. His attitude discouraged people to discuss and ask questions. Most of the sessions were lead by the power point slides so there was little variance during the week. I appreciate that there is lots of material to get through but I felt the teacher had made no effort in delivery it and was just reading off the slides.
The quality of Knowledge academy's instructors and course materials are second to non. Overall I had a very good experience!
The P3O course was a bit vague n actually requires prior knowledge of MSP and/or PRINCE2 .... This isn't clearly stated in the manual. The course also gives a lot if theory n references to key elements in a project environment but doesn't really equip you to deal with the same ....
I found it very difficult to make a decision on which provider to sit my PRINCE2 course with. How do you choose between all the different providers? In the end I plumped for The Knowledge Academy based purely on price and availability. I needn't of worried. The course had only 13 participants, the trainer was excellent, the course material was superb and the facilities were ideal. I genuinely couldn't have wished for more.
It was an intense week, but I was told to expect that and went into it fully prepared. I went on to easily pass my exams during the week and am now fully qualified.
I feel somewhat stupid for not attending courses sooner in my career. I'll definitely look to The Knowledge Academy first when it comes to my next outing. I just need to save up the pennies...
Very well instructed course from a tutor with excellent experience in industry.
TKA's Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner course was well delivered by an excellent tutor.
Everyone passed the Foundation course, which was a pre-requisite for taking the Practitioner portion of the course.
An intensive start to the course including the pre-course work gave a strong foundation on which to build. I can't remember being so well prepared and confident walking into an exam. And, yes - I passed and can have added Prince2 Registered Practitioner to my CV.
A few weeks ago I carried out the Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner course with The Knowledge Academy. The course was well structured covering all relevant aspects of the Prince2 syllabus and was run over 5 days with the foundation exam at the end of the third day and a Practitioner exam on the morning of day 5. The instructor was highly experienced and approachable and was extremely adept at keeping the class discussion on topic and driving the course forward at a rapid but manageable pace. The homework was relevant and not too time consuming allowing breathing space to assimilate the information. The Foundation exam, mid week was marked immediately and the results passed to the students confidentially. Everybody passed. This instant feedback gave everyone a mid course morale boost and made the far more complicated but open book Practitioner exam seem achievable. For my part I found the Practitioner exam quite challenging but the pass mark requirement was only 55%. All of the members of my course that I have spoken to have also passed. In short, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Knowledge Academy and will be using them again in the future.
knowledge academy dealt with me with no fuss and consummate professionalism-I can't say the same for the other online learning providers I've used. Really good venue and an excellent instructor with loads of experience to impart.
I found booking the course easy. All staff were friendly. The trainer was excellent and although the course was intensive the trainer spurred the class on and really got the best out of them. The sessions were interactive and everyone was encouraged to join in.
I went for the Knowledge Academy course because I was self financing my training and needed to save the pennies. I needn't have worried; the trainer was top class and I made sure I did the pre-course work.
The course was intense nut I passed both parts thanks to what I learnt. I would not hesitate to recommend this course.
Very positive atmosphere from the start. A really tough week was made accessible and even enjoyable. Everyone was treated as a professional in their own right and made to feel that success was quite within their reach. Thanks!
Haven't studied in many years and was able to pass both exams. Lecturer was knowledgable and helpful. Very happy overall. Would definitely recommend TKA. Thank you
I attended the PRINCE2 practioner course in April. The course was excellent and provided me with enough information and direction to pass the exam. Would recommend to anyone thinking of doing the PRINCE2 courses.
A cost effective no frills approach, you need to be there to study and get your course done. I found the tutors fun and helpful despite having masses of information to teach. The information is delivered efficiently and effectively, I passed both exams without issue the first time. Highly recommended for focused driven people who need to get the course done with minimum fuss.
I recently took PRINCE2 course with TKA. The teachers were brilliant and the course was well developed. I highly recommend them.
Believe the feedback The Knowledge Academy gets for this course. I did and now I'm PRINCE2 Practitioner certified in a matter of weeks (including the prep work). Highly recommend them, the facilities were perfectly adequate for the price (cheapest around!!) and the trainer was excellent taking a genuine interest in teaching the course and helping you understand and learn. Money well spent!!
The instructor, Rob Walters, pitched the material perfectly for our group. We all have a pretty strong foundation in project management, and he didn't waste our time on material we didn't need. He was friendly and effective.
I was very satisfied with the whole thing - right down to when I passed the exam!
