I needed to buy lavalier mics and all the stuff that goes with it. As I am a complete amateur, "Shed" on the phone found out exactly what I wanted to record, then gave me great recommendations for what I needed. Excellent.
I needed to buy a Lavalier mic (my first one). I spoke to the MIc Store who recommended the equipment I'd need (an Audio-Technica PRO plus cables) but did say the mic itself wasn't in stock. I explained the urgency (I'd been asked to do a job at very short-notice for which I thought I'd need a Lav mic) and - almost unbelievably but 100% true - the staff went out to source the mic and it arrived in the post the NEXT day. 24 hours after my call a previously out-of-stock mic was with me: practically the definition of great customer service!
As a photographer my knowledge on Microphones and other audio equipment can be printed on a stamp. However, a short phone call and a discussion with on o the Mic Stores sales people and I felt very welcome. No up selling just making sure you get what you need. Excellent service all round. On top of that the items arrived on the day they said they would. Thanks.

This follows on from my recent view also made today - So i just rang the company again after not receiving another call back as promised and was told my item will not be delivered until the end of this month over 1 MONTH after ordering, i was offered an alternative item or a refund, i took the refund that will now take 3-5 days to come back into my account. meaning i can't order the item from anywhere else until i have that back in my account! which lengths the process further. most staff members were not helpful, again Liam is the only one who was honest and actually gave me any information and did just say ill email you or call you and then not do anything!!
All i can say if it was for Liam being on the end of the phone, i would of got very irate and expressed my true feelings.
I had no idea what headmic system was best suited to my daughters needs. I called several sound equipment shops. The micstore offered by far the best information and understood exactly what I needed. I was warned that the item was not in stock but they were expecting a delivery. I was told that I would receive the item either Monday or Tuesday. I received an e mail on Monday letting me know the item had been dispatched and would arrive the following day (Tuesday) - AND IT DID! The sound from the system is clear with no fuzziness. I wish the headset itself had come with instructions though as it is rather fiddly and I have no idea how it should be worn - over the top of the head or at back of the head? Neither seem to fit properly but I am sure we will work it out at some stage. Apart from that a first class service! In future the micstore will definitely be my first port of call.
I was ordering my microphone online at work, and because of the educational filtering at my school it was proving to be quite difficult. themicstore online chat service was a godsend and enabled me (with the assistance of an actual human) to place my order quickly and efficiently. The product was delivered to the address required the next morning in London, just as required.
I have no problem giving a 5 star rating to my experience....couldn't have been easier!!
I made my order 1st May with the expectation it would be right with me (i.e. in the post the next day so with me the day after like most other online deliveries).
TheMicStore took the money out of my bank account straight away (rather than take the money when the products are despatched like most reputable online retailers).
It's now the 9th May and no sign of the mics at all but more annoyingly, no contact whatsoever from TheMicStore at all apart from this request to provide feedback!!!
The mics were ordered for a specific event which happened yesterday so they're not needed now. I've tried looking up the order on their website and it just says my order is "In Progress". I could have just gone to the local specialist music shop and bought these products on the spot!
If I ever get the mics I'll return them for a refund under the Distance Selling Act but I'm not expecting a prompt response!
Poor, poor service. I wouldn't recommend this supplier at all.
Try to buy your equipment anywhere else but here!.. I ordered, got confimation, paid with my credit card, payment was execepted and then got this message:
" Before we can ship your goods, we do require an extra security step for oversees deliveries. It’s a company policy due to the banks no providing us cover in case anything goes wrong. So it protects our customers, and ourselves. You can get this from your bank by ringing your bank and asking for an authorisation code, it’s a 6 digit number that is generated at the end of the transaction. If you could provide this code to us, so it will match up on our system that would be great. Kind regards, "
This is absolutely not legal, rediculous and unfair ( there is no warning one the site before you make payment that they " require " whatever bullshit that nobody has ever required from me in any purchase online whatsoever!! ).
So as far as i am concerned, never again and i would advise you to buy your products anywhere else if you can avoid this company!
Only a small lead, but the website was easy to find and use, and the price was good, and delivery was fast and error free. What more could you want!

I had to order a mic last minute so ordered and called to check how soon it could be sent and it was on it's way within a few hours and arrived the next day via UPS.

I recently bought a Samson external mic for my DSLR camera. I spoke to the Mic store as was a newbie in this space. I found them extremely helpful, knowledgeable and service was impeccable and delivery brilliant. Definitely will be my first "port of call" for any future audio requirements.
The staff were most helpful and patient in helping me sort out a rather complicated radio mic problem which other retail outlets had failed to do
I searched for "wireless Micro Earset Radio Mic" and of all the links I searched and reviewed, TheMicStore wasthe cheapest, even cheaper than Amazon. I placed my order on Thursday at about 3:00pm and surprisingly the product arrived at about 10:00 am on Friday (the following day) via UPS unscratched or damaged.
I will recommend them anytime and any day.
However, I will let you have my feedback in regards to the item itself when I have used it for at least 2 to 3 weeks.
They did their best over the phone to guide me to the best microphone for my needs. Unfortunately, I did not find the head microphone comfortable. They dealt with the return if a fuss free manner. (I have only just returned it, so I do not have the refund back in my account yet)
I ordered a microphone holder and XLR lead from them, I needed it for the weekend so I rang first on the Thursday before to make sure it was in stock and could be sent that day.
I was told that I had an hour in which to order for same day shipping and that they were both in stock.
I ordered immediately online and chose next day delivery with UPS.
Fully expecting the items to arrive on Friday, I was extremely disappointed to receive a delivery notice from UPS saying it would arrive on Monday. They showed that they received the items for collection on the Friday.
I actually sent an email to The MicStore asking why they had not managed to meet the promised delivery date, but received no reply.
I feel that having called first to check availability and payed for next day delivery, my annoyance at having to wait five days for the items to arrive is justified.

Phoned The MicStore to check if I was ordering the correct part - they quickly confirmed that I was, with no need to transfer or hold the call - very nice!
The particular cable I wanted was out of stock, but was likely to be available in a few days. I'm in no real rush so ordered it anyway. It arrived with me in less than 2 days!!
Well, they're easy to contact and are very knowledgeable, it works fine, it was a fair price, and it arrived much earlier than I anticipated - can't ask for much more than that eh?!!
You've gotta meet this guy called "SHED". What he don't know about mics, you don't need to know. I went knowing exactly what I wanted - and came home with something quite different - and loads better. And all at a sensible price.
I'm already putting the word around the circuit as others are very curious to find out what my "hearing aid" does.

I had no knowledge or experience of microphones for DSLR cameras. I spoke to the MicStore by telephone and they gave good,honest advice.I enquired about a range of microphones with differing values,they did not try to sell me the most expensive one, they sold the one that best suited my needs. Very good customer service and a joy to deal with, I would easily recommend them to anybody in my situation.
I spoke to a member of staff to get advice over a replacement wireless mic system. They recommended a range of mice for me to choose from. Once chosen delivery was quick and after sales service great. No question too silly
I placed my order from the website, and realised soon after that I had ordered the wrong item. As it was the weekend, I emailed them with an explanation of what I had done and asked them to contact me on Monday morning, which they duly did. The matter was resolved in a very helpful and pleasant manner. I will definitely recommend them unreservedly.

When you first heard a blues harmonica amplified and were wowed by what you heard the SHURE 520 DX gives you that sound, with easy feedback control using the built in volume knob just plug in and enjoy, especially if you saved money by shopping at the very quick and efficient MICSTORE, excellent.
I had a number of different products in mind. Informed staff member took the time to discuss various alternatives and I was able to then buy with confidence. I got the strong impression that they are keen to sell you the right product, not the most expensive one.
I ordered the RODE Stereo Videomic in the afternoon and it was delivered the following morning. I couldn't be more pleased and will use the MicStore again.
