We ordered there because they claim flexible delivery service. In the end, they provided office hours delivery only, and there was nobody to rearrange or check the status and to track the package. Once the good is paid, they do not care. We had to arrange to be at home at office hours to get the package, while we clearly mentioned we needed evening/Saturday delivery when ordering. All their website content on service, delivery is just fake, or maybe they selected comments from the very 'few' happy customers, assuming some exist.
We purchased the Merlin bedroom furniture set which was reduced from £1800 to £1299 in the January sale. This included the bed, mattress and wardrobes. The cheapest I had seen it was on amazon for £2200 or so when bought separately, so we got a real bargain I think. A company called Panther delivered our goods and the 2 chaps helped carry them upstairs. They also unpacked and joined the 2 wardrobes together. The internal packaging was taken although we had to keep the boxes just in case the item had to be returned we were told. Very happy, been a pleasant experience which is rare with so many companies. We struggled with dfs and harveys in the past. So I would use this company again, or maybe we were lucky this time.
What a waste of time this place is! The service is rude and unhelpful when , on rare occassion, you do manage to get hold of them. All we got most of the time was an automated reply, and no follow up or real contact.
I ordered the saturn dining table with chairs on the 26th at around 8 or 9pm. I received an order despatch email immediately within 10 or 15 minutes. I thought it may have been a mistake and should have been the sales confirmation. But then the order arrived on Friday morning the very next day. Great service, however 1 washer seems to be missing which I am told was sent out today.
Finally, after 9 weeks of struggling with these people, who have simply failed to deliver the goods we paid for, they have agreed to refund me, less £25.20 "failed international delivery charge". This " failure" being their own!
I have been looking for somewhere to leave a review for the modern home! I ordered a sofa suite in the January sale for just over £1000. It arrived shortly after (on around 10th day) BUT although it entered our home, would not fit through our door into the second living room. Devastated, we presumed that the sofa would be going back with the delivery men. However, here is where the magic happened. They informed us that if the door was removed from the hinges, the larger sofa would fit, but that they were also happy to take the sofa away and refund me. I agreed to have the door removed and the sofas eased into the room.
They put the door back on and I'm amazed at the fantastic service and dedication of these guys considering it took over 2 hours.
We ordered a coffee table from this company back in October 2012 and are still without parts. The table arrived on a week day despite our request for a weekend delivery with the wooden piece in the middle broken. Three months on, we are still sending emails back and forth trying to get the issue resolved. Customer services is so poor, most of your emails will be ignored with no escalation process as they seem to have one man doing "everything". Steer clear for your own sanity.
